It had been a week since they had met the boogeyman known as Saebel at Red's Closing Ceremony. If it could even be called that. There was something about the entire thing that reeked of mystery and intrigue, of twisted lies and deception.

The white and light blue cloaked boogeyman was pacing restlessly back and forth, his footsteps accompanied by the muted jangle of his bells. It seemed that Saebel took the liberty of muting his bells for Lattice's comfort, but whether or not it would be enough remained to be seen.

He stopped his pacing as soon as the students entered, gesturing to them quickly to come in and close the door. "I don't have much time," he said quickly. "I'm due to be transferred elsewhere soon, and with the current lockdown?" Saebel shook his head. "I don't think it'd do any of us any good if either side was caught. But I digress."

The reaper looked at them, serious. "Did you bring them? Please show them to me so that I may examine them."

There’d been a good reason why Hel didn’t attend the closing ceremony for Professor Red. With how volatile the valkyrie’s mouth was (as highlighted by the fieldtrip), she had reasoned that if she wanted to save herself (and her fellow students) from any unnecessary trouble (lest she’d start making loud, snide about lies, deceit, and how this was not honorable), she avoided it. After being informed about this…meeting though from Lattice, the ghoul knew it was something she just had to be apart of. The Truth.

Knowing was half the battle, right?

The reaper slipped into the room, cautious, her brows furrowed as she regarded the bogeyman that had been pacing until the students entered. She approached, hands coming to rest on her hips as her eyes seemed to light up in recognition. She recalled him from the front of the Haunted House…he had been Fear healing students (while she was punching Riyo’s face in). The ghoul looked puzzled when he questioned them about something, and glanced at her fellow students quizzically.

Pepin... oh Pepin...

Mot made his way when he was heeded by the strange glitch ghost, never one to be tardy when needed. He followed on Hel's heels, coming in around the same time she had.

Mot was curious, and glad for the opportunity for clarity and answers.

The topic of the field trip and Red's "retirement" was something that Tsetsiliya had avoided entirely during the days they had all returned. Unlike her fellows, much of the events of the trip were somewhat of a blur - her indecision had rendered her useless to others and everything following had gone so fast. If anything, she had felt something akin to shame.. much like the previous field trip. When she had been approached about this opportunity by her editor-in-chief, it seemed like a way to perhaps do something now when she should have before. And really, just by gauging the general student body's reaction to the Closing Ceremonies of the field trip, there was a distinct undercurrent of disbelief in what had been said - Tsetsiliya could at least pick up on that much.

Armed with a pencil and notepad, she moved into the room behind a boil and ghoul (the ghoul she recognized from the Paranormal Post meeting). Her eyes fell upon the boogeyman, and her fingers tightened anxiously around the edge of the notepad. When he had begun asking questions, her stomach flip-flopped nervously, and she gave a confused look towards her two fellows. None of the others spoke, and she did not speak either, afraid of displeasing their guest so early on. It seemed wrong to answer him with a blank stare and silence, but Pepin was likely the one who had what he was looking for.

What was he looking for, anyway? Pepin had not mentioned this. Hopefully their leader would arrive soon; for now, Tsetsiliya did not know what to say or which direction to head in with conversation.

There had only been a handful of times where Lattice disturbed the remains of the professor that she had acquired. Once was to show to Pepin that there was indeed a piece of Red that was left behind and then today because she had promised Saebel that he could take a look at it. Her only regret was not finding others that would also be able to bring a piece in and she was a bit too shy - despite her mission - to outright go to random students she recalled as being there to ask for their pieces of Red if they had one.

Hopefully this one piece would be enough.

When she arrived she looked at the gathering that was there and recognized their forms even the one she'd never really spoken to. She offered everyone a small nod and then looked at Saebel with a small sigh, "Yes I only have my piece. I am very sorry," she murmured softly as she padded up to him and offered up the piece in cupped palms, "Please, investigate all you wish."

Forgive me Red. We need answers...

After the Boogeyman had promised her a very secretive story Pepin was in no mood to slip up, freeze, or scare away any information that he may provide her and her crew of reporters.

Pleased to see that each of them had followed the posting to the club room, she stepped in and made an extra effort to move a chair or two in front of the door as a psuedo-barricade. Regardless that it was pointless she looked satisfied with herself anyway and floating in closer, giving Mot a pat on the back as she passed him.

"We won't waste a moment of your time, promise!" she chimed and awaited curiously with a pad of paper despite the computers in the room. Watching Lattice present the remains of Red she buzzed around thoughtfully for the Boogey's reaction. She and Lattice had talked about it beforehand but neither were full of the knowledge that Saebel was.

Worry began to gnaw at his insides when the students began to arrive, each one keeping their distance and staring at him with... Confusion? Hesitation? "You... do know what we're doing here, right?" He asked quietly, glancing quickly over to Lattice and Pepin. "You two did inform them...?"

His inquiry fell short as Lattice offered him the remains she had acquired from Red, cradling it in his hands. The students were forgotten as he raised the piece of bone up towards his eyes, turning it in his palm.

"Do you know what citizens of Halloween are made up of?" Saebel asked as he turned the piece over in his hand. "It's Fear, but it has been refined. Shaped, even. You can think of it like a sort of clay. You can have different colors of it and shape it into different things, but at its core it's still clay. That's the easiest way to understand Fear."

The reaper-boogeyman held up the piece of Red. "This... This has traces of Fear. And something else. The thing is," he paused, holding his hand over it. Within the space between his hands, the air seemed to shift and ripple as he examined the Fear a second time. "This... This doesn't feel like Red."

The piece was offered back to Lattice. "I can detect traces of Fear, but it's a kind of raw, unrefined Fear. I can't tell you who it belongs to, but I can say with certainty that it's not Red's." He ran a hand through his hair, adding, "Even so, I'd like to make sure of that. Do any of you have something that belonged to Red? Her personal emblem, a piece of her cloak? The cloak might be tricky considering how many red cloaks are running around, but..."
