The noon sun shown down, bright and cheerful, warming the chill air. The long, dry grass of the field waved with errant breezes as a stray cricket chirped contentedly. The scent of lingering fall wafted through the air as the weather fought the early winter cool. Keetah was gamboling about the field, prancing and dancing, jumping and spinning, and generally entertaining herself in the most ridiculous of ways possible. It didn't bother her when she noticed she wasn't alone. A grin lighting her face she bounced, "Hi, I'm Keetah!"
Then, deciding she was too far away, she barreled towards the stranger, no matter that he was much larger than she. Keetah never missed an opportunity to talk, "Hi! I'm Keetah!" She said again as she stopped her forward rush just shy of impact. A slight bounce married with the happy grin definitely gave her the look of youth and innocence.

When he woke, he decided that he was hungry and would eat before Amira woke. He left her sleeping quietly, he slipped away to the open meadow. He had just begun to graze on the nice lush grass when he heard something running for him full force. He quickly rose his head to look and was surprised when he saw a little brown mare who looked a little odd. "Well hello." He smiled down at her, he had no intention of being mean to her, she was just really friendly or so he hoped. "I am Amenophis, it is a pleasure to meet you." He greeted her more warmly, he let his eyes scan over her, he was trying to figure out just what she was exactly. In a way, she was a little interesting with her actions and tone of voice. She seemed almost innocent, but something told him that there was more to this one then he could see, he just hoped he had not met the devil.

Keetah bounced in place, full of energy and excitement. "Hi Amenophis, I'm Keetah, how are you? Are you good? You look good you look hungry maybe you should eat the grass here is really good and sweet but it's kinda dry and the stream is such a far walk well not that far just farther than I want to walk but that's okay because walking is good for you don't you think and the sun is bright and shiny and there are birds singing isn't it wonderful when birds are singing? Why arn't you eating if you're hungry Amenophis? If I was hungry I'd eat but I ate earlier so I'm not hungry but I was bored are you bored? If you're bored we could do something together then we wouldn't be bored don't you think?"
Keetah grinned, her large eyes darting about as she spoke, distracted by every errant leaf and passing insect. That she didn't leave much room for someone else to speak didn't seem to cross her mind.

Amenophis couldn't help but chuckle as he listened to the little one speak. She was really full of energy and for a moment, he thought she forgot to breathe, but the fact that she was still talking and looking around was a good sign. He smiled at her and decided to answer her the best that he could. Once she finished speaking, he took a deep breath and exhaled before he spoke. "I am well, not good. I was eating before you arrived, and yes walking is indeed good for you." He had to stop and take another breath before he could continue on. "Birds are indeed wonderful to listen to, and I am certainly not bored now." He chuckled at the word 'bored', he had no idea how this mare could be so bored. She seemed to have enough energy that she could probably run circles around him.

Keetah grinned and bounced in place, "Oh good! I'm so glad you arn't bored because being bored is so boring and it's boring to be bored and you just have to sit and be bored when your bored and I don't know why anyone would want to be bored or boring even though some people really are boring because they like it that way, do you like it that way? Did you eat enough because sometimes I'm told that I should go away so a body can eat but I think you can eat if I'm here, you can, can't you cause I'm small and wouldn't stop you even if I could but something about chattering being bad for digestion but I don't really know what that means. Oh, look! A butterfly!" And she took a couple bounds after it, not realizing she had stopped in the middle of talking with someone.

Amenophis tried to keep his calm but was starting to get a little annoyed from her constant rambling. He took a deep breath and wandered to himself if this was what having children of his own would be like, the thought made him cringe, especially if there were more than one foal. He closed his eyes and tried to imagine happy thoughts, while she was off bounding after the butterfly, he lowered his head and began to eat grass again. This morning had been more than he bargained for, that was certain. He couldn't wait to get away from the bundle of energy. When he did manage to get away, he was going to go straight to Amira and confront her about this strange female. He wanted to know and confirm that his fears were foolish and that he had no big worries to be concerned with when it comes to children of his own. He sighed with frustration, he couldn't imagine his years with the foals growing up when they behaved like this little one. His head shook from denial, there was just no way that his foals could turn out like this, right?

Keetah chases the butterfly for a while before being distracted by a shiny rock. She turns it over with one hoof, then thinks to show it to her new friend. Looking over, she sees he's eating again and in a rare act of thoughtfulness, doesn't call out, instead deciding to take the rock to Amenophis. It takes her a while, rolling and nudging the rock to slowly roll it towards the other stallion. "Look, look Amenophis! I found a pretty shiny!"

Amenophis raised his head when he heard her speak again to him but was shocked that she had a rock with her. "Did you bring that all the way over here?" He was astonished in her determination, he was starting to have second thoughts about the little one. Perhaps the little mare had manners and good things going on for her after all. He smiled down at her and got down lower to peer at the rock. "It is indeed lovely." He smiled at her, he was actually rather surprised by the little horse. It seemed that she was still full of surprises perhaps? Or maybe that was all there was to her, and manners was a rare happening and he just got lucky...either way he had no real idea. It made him want to stick around the little horse longer, he wanted to change the perspective he had of her, make it a positive one instead.

Keetah beams and bounces, happy to have his agreement. "Oh yes, I brought it over for you to see because I thought you would like to see it. It's very nice and sometimes I find pretty rocks near the stream too but they don't stay pretty when you take them away from the stream so I let them stay where they are because it's their home and they like it there and it isn't right to take them away from their home but this one wasn't in the water it was in the field and I don't think it knows it's not in the same place in the field as it was in earlier because the field is its home like the stream is the home of the other rocks and as long as it stays in its home it will be happy and shiny." She seems very proud of herself for figuring that out.

Amenophis continued to shower the little one named Keetah in praise. But it didn't last long because he figured it was time for him to address her. "Thank you for showing it to me." One he finished his sentence though, he felt like he had to take a big old deep breath for her. Just listening to her talk and go on and on without needing to take a breath, it was making him winded and rather tired. "How can you talk that way without breathing?" He didn't mean to be rude but he just couldn't hold in his curiosity much longer.

Keetah blinks, twice. "I breath. I breath alot." And at this point she's stopping between each thought to take a deep breath. "Breathing is good. It . . ." She blinks again, having lost the thought as a leaf goes spinning by on the breeze.
Bouncing twice she turns back to him, "Are you still hungry do you still need to eat or would you like to play but I don't know what to play cause you're really big and I'm really little but we could play something and it would help us be not bored and we could have fun playing something and then we could be the bestest of friends!"

The brown stallion looked down at the little mare with a warm smile. She was really starting to grow on him, she was just so innocent sometimes and seemed to be rather sweet. "I have an idea of what we could play." He grinned down at her, as if it was an open challenge and he wondered if she would accept it. "Hide and seek tag, I'll count, you hide and then if I find you I have to try and tag you." He figured she had never heard of it and tried to explain it the best he could. "If I fail to find you and I give up, I'll call out to you to show yourself and then you can try and find me to tag me." He chuckled at the end of the sentence because he had no idea really where he heard of this game before but he knew it by heart. Perhaps when his family was still around, they played it together? He shook his head to focus on the present and not wonder about what the past was like, he stretched a little to get ready for the game.

Keetah smiles and bounce, "Oh how fun! I can do that I can hide really good and then you can look and look and look and I'll be hiding and you won't go away, right? Cause sometimes I hide so good the seeker gets bored and goes away but doesn't call out and you are going to call out and not go away so it will be fun and a game and then I can find you!"

Amenophis nodded with a small grin, he watched as she continued to bounce around. "I promise I will not abandon you." He always kept his word, it was his oath, he would keep it til his dying breath. He nudged her with his nose gently away from him, as if it was a cue to take her place and it was their stage. He wondered if the little one could stop talking long enough or stop moving long enough to stay still until he could find her, his bet was probably not. He chuckled to himself as he began to imagine a small scene in his mind about him watching her chasing a butterfly before he finds her. Then the chase would be on to tag her and it would be his turn. The game really wasn't much of a game but it was a time consuming thing, and it would prove to be fun. He continued to nudge her with his nose until he was certain that she would move on her own to a hiding spot. He turned around and closed his eyes and began to count aloud. "One...two...three...four...five...six..seven...."

Keetah, eyes going wide at the nudge, trots off. Looking around for a while, she sees what she's looking for. A roll in the field where the long grasses hide a small hillock is ideal for Keetah. For all that she's extraordinarily hyper, she is actually surprisingly intelligent when she chooses to think.
Working her way quickly around to the other side of the hillock, careful not to create a trail in the grasses, Keetah grins. Being small, she has more hiding places than larger Soquili. Laying down in the tall grasses on the other side of the roll of land, Keetah's fur blends in fairly well with the dried autumn grass that now reaches just over her ears.
Closing her eyes, Keetah strains to hear Amenophis counting. She keeps her breath close to keep from giggling and giving herself away.
