This is where Loic Garnier, the Solid Venom from Germany, lives along with Melanie Wickham, the General's Daughter from England. It's only natural that their abode is large and spacy since Loic's family funded it.

Well, Loic took from his reserves and ran away just like Mel, but that's irrelevant.

When they arrived at Loic's place he opened the door for her and wait for her to walk in. Mel walked in slowly, looking around at his place. It was a lot bigger than she expected and a lot nicer.

She stopped when she was completly inside and stood wondering how he got such a nice place. She glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. Loic Garnier? she thought to herself Who are you?

She looked back at the room and tried to think, That name... it sounds familiar. Garnier.... Garnier... Where have I heard it from? She just stood there staring at his place completely lost in thought, repeating his name over and over in her head. Garnier... Garnier...

LOIC GARNIER.

Loic was still wrapped up in his thoughts and almost mechanically showed his chivalry, letting his meister go in first.

It then struck him that she had stayed in the same position for too long. Was she worried about living in the same place? Maybe she thought that they would have to stay in the same room or something, but this was an ENTIRE flat. There were a total of 5 apartments with medium sized rooms. He figured it was very inconspicuous.

"....Mel, we don't have to share a room. We don't even need to share the apartment. It's a flat..."

He hung his coat on a peg and walked past her to the living room, where beyond it lay a bedroom he wanted to claim as his own.

"I'm going to change, I'll be back."

Loic shut the door and stripped down, searching through his closet for something that didn't look very rich. He definately needed to shop for more American stuff.

But then realization slapped him across the face.

It was so obvious, yet in his excitement and pensiveness had kept him from seeing it.

Melanie Wickham.

WICKHAM.

WICK-FRIGGIN-HAM.

He first felt cold, then he felt like an uncultured moron. Then he cursed softly, the dread spreading like cancer.

He had partnered up with possibly the only person who knew his true identity. And he forgot. But she knew. She knew who he was.

Loic felt his stomach drop to Hell and disappear.

Goddamn, just his luck.

He became angry as the seconds ticked down, unsure if his ire was greater towards the girl or him. Loic resolved to deal with this crisis now. If she was a Wickham, maybe he could negotiate to keep her mouth shut. Her secret for his. He would even go with money, though he hated doing that. Loic stepped out of the room without a shirt and found his new partner rooted in the same spot.

"Wickham. I'm not sure what your intentions are, but if you take me for a fool, Ill have you know that youre dead wrong. I wanted to see how far you'd go with this, but this is utterly ridiculous. You shouldn't be here, you ought to be serving your motherland along with the rest of your kin. Yet you, knowing who I am, partner with me.

We will negotiate this right now. You compromise my status as a normal person here, and the discovery of your location rests on me. Stay quiet, and I will not speak a word of this to your parents. But make it known to the world who I am, and I, as a Garnier, will take measures. My influence is equal to yours; don't underestimate what I can do."

Darker thoughts rose into his mind.

"Unless your father sent you here? Is Britain plotting against Germany? "

His mind, going at a million, took a totally new angle and his approach changed.

"This is an outrage! Do you think you can defeat the Garniers?! The audacity - even with the heads of our family gone,we'll still have YOUR heads; Im more than enough to deal with you!"

Loic processed his words for a few seconds and then realized what he'd just said.

1) If she didn't know who he was before, she definately knew now.

2)If the Garniers had actually paid enough money to appease the British news networks and they hadn't aired the news about his parents'murders, an influential individual now knew the Garnier's social status.

3) if indeed they were plotting against them, the Wickhams were now aware of the incredible moment of weakness for the Garniers.

4) He had reacted rashly in what seemed like centuries.

5) He totally ruined his chances of finding a partner.

He gaped at Mel's face for a few moments before rushing to his room, locking the door, and pulverizing the first object he found with his Soul Drive. The alarm clock made a loud popping noise as it disintegrated under his unstable wavelength.

Loic cursed everything while secretly hoping that his meister would somehow magically accept him as a partner anyways.

Little did he know that far away in Germany, another person was doing the same thing. And that deeper in the wilderness, The Lady of the Moon laughed gaily.

Melanie stood there in what seemed like a trance. She didnt hear Loic talking to her or even notice that he had dissappeared into another room. She was still wrapped up in her own thoughts.

She didnt even click back to reality till Loic appeared again this time without a shirt, she wasnt use to seeing that. Her family thought of that as indecent, but then she looked up at his face and could see anger written all over it, making his eyes turn an icy blue.

Then he started saying something to her in a low threating voice that came out as almost a growl. He went on about how he know about her family and his family and wanted to know what they were planning.

Mel stood there completely blank... she had no idea what he was talking about.

He went on and said something about Germany and thats when it hit her. The name Garnier is from Germany! And the Garniers were a wealthy family she remembered, but to tell you the truth she didnt really care much about politics and such, so she didnt really know much more.

Then she heard him yell at her and she stood there not knowing what to do. He just looked at her, his eyes till that icy blue color, then turned around and went back into the room. She flinched a little as he slammed the door behind him.

What had she done to make him so mad at her? Was it because of where she came from and who her family was? She looked down at her feet hurt. After that the stunned feeling wore off she could feel how upset it was making her.

Its probably some stupid disagreement between our families she thought bitterly to herself. She didnt even know what it was, but she was to upset to even care.

She looked around the flat and saw the kitchen and headed straight for it. She pulled her long brown hair into a messy bun, rolled her sleeves up and started pulling things out of the cupboards.

She started to mix things together and worked in the kitchen like it was some ritual she did everyday. She didnt know why, but cooking always seemed to make her feel better, and before she even knew what she was making she had a plate of pancakes sitting in front of her with homemade syrup.

She sat on one of the bar stools and stared at the pancakes. She pulled her feet up and pulled her knees close to her. Of all the things I could make, I had to make pancakes she thought as she let her head drop to rest on top of her knees. What am I doing here?

She sat there with the scent of freashly made pancakes and warm syrup swirling around her not moving, wondering if she should have ever even left London.

After zapping his alarm clock, Loic watched the fumes float to the ceiling, but it bought him no joy.

He may as well have blown up his life with all the things that had happened to him. Being a Garnier wasn't easy. Ever since he was young and had enough brain cells to carry regular conversation, he had been immersed in all of Europe's past, present, and future. Though his family was an old relic of Germany's glorious past, they still held important influences, though they affected little outside of Europe. He had been taught to keenly read through every single action every person around him made. It was no second nature to him. Caution was integrated into his being, and his eyes would seek malice even at the most leisure of times.

Like now, for example. While peacefully at the flat, he'd practically had a meltdown over identities and names.

How old was he, 13?

Close, but no cigar. He was 19. And still having identity crises, apparently.

He felt his hand grow incredibly tense before realizing that he still had Soul Drive activated, his electric wavelength moving dangerously around his palm. It shook with anger, but mostly it shook with uneasiness.

Loic Garnier was 19 years old, a rich runaway with a traumatic past. But he could only run away from responsibility for so long, he knew. But he refused to dwell on it. He wanted a taste of freedom, away from that boring world where everyone saw malice in one another.

Too bad that it was engrained in his mind already.

Who said fame was wonderful? He'd shoot the b*****d who came up with that illusion.

After a few moments, Loic stood and threw a red shirt on, along with some black boots and some jeans of a brand he couldnt remember. It was the most normal thing he owned.

He eyed the window from the corner of his eyes. It seemed so enticing. It practically invited him to jump out and escape.

Loic decided to stop lying to himself and be straightfoward to the point of potencially hurting his psyche.

1) He came to America like a sneaky coward.
2) Loic did this shameful act to establish his own name as a aweapon without any power to back him up. Just talent.
3)He was considering to escape again because of a girl. His meister, too.
4) How childish he was behaving. He wanted a partner, right? Well, there you have it. 'Quit being such a whiner, Loic.Pull your your s**t together already.' He scolded himself harshly. 'You're shaming Linda.'

Linda! He missed the other half of his soul. She would take care of some loose ends at home before coming as well. Linda knew it would be difficult to escape the web Medina would doubtless weave, but she needed this.

A name.

She stayed back for a name.

The name of the witch who killed his parents was still unknown. The people who found the bodies dubbed her 'The Lady of the Moon'. So Linda was researching whatever that meant. A witch from the Immortal clan? That would be difficult to deal with, but no matter.

The siblings would have their patri/matricide.

Loic registered that something was cooking in the kitchen. Was she hungry already? He nearly called a cook to deal with it before remembering he hired no such person.

OOPS.

Loic facepalmed before walking out of his room. Itt had been at least 30 minutes since he locked himself in there. He stuck his head out of a passageway to find Mel sitting alone with the food in front of her.

It was almost pitiful the way she was curled up in a ball.

How could the daughter of such a strong man be so....so...

Delicate?

How could a flower be born from iron ore? It made no sense.

Loic just shook his head and propped his lower arm aganist the doorway, his fist a few inches from his face.

"It's rather amusing that you made pancakes at this hour."

SMOOTH. REAL SLICK, LOIC. Fix it quickly. NOW.

"If you really want something to eat, then....Maybe...There's a restaurant somewhere around here. I walked past it getting here."

YES, THATS IT.

"It's on me."

MANNERS ARE IMPORTANT. YESYESYES. Not only would he reconcile, he could find out why the heck she was here. And, of course, figure her out. It wouldn't be too hard for him.

She didint know how long she sat there, but it seemed like forever. Thoughts about her past seemed to fill her mind.

The sound of her fathers ice cold voice echoing through her memories. Her brothers following the same footsteps. The Queen, London, balls. It all ran through her mind. Would they even notice Im gone?

She could feel the air around her getting heavier and heavier around her. She tried to shake it off but couldnt. She squeezed her knees closer.

The sound of Loic's voice startled her. Her eyes flew open and she rasied her head to see him standing in the doorway. She immediatly got embarrassed and turned away, looking out a window.

I must look so pathetic... was all she could think. He asked if she would like to go to a restraunt instead and to tell you the truth that actually didnt sound to bad.

"Yeah sure" she said as she slowly got off the stool, still not looking at him, and picked up the plate of pancakes and threw them away. "I dont really like pancakes anyways" she added with a weak smile.

"So where too?" she said finally looking at him and trying to put a more convining smile on her face, not just to convice him, but herself also.

Loic racked his brains while he slipped into his light brown coat that ended midthigh.

"I- dont recall the name. It would be amusing, though, if it were calle something like Resterdeath or Deathstaurant." He said finally.

"If you need more time, I'll wait outside." He said, slipping outside of the flat and standing like a soldier next to the flat's exterior.

Whoever said the British Royal Guards were unmovable had never seen Loic. He was stiller than rock. German habits.

It was broken, though, when he decided to text Linda.

"Sister, I miss you so. How's SC and LV ? Any leads on where to find the pearl necklace?"

It was a code. SC was Snake's Creator, or Medina Garnier. LV was Liquid Venom, Loic's father. And the pearl necklace was the Lady of the Moon. In case the messages were intercepeted, the Garnier sibs needed this code.

She watched Loic leave as her gave her sometime to get ready. The second he was out of the door she let out a loud sigh.

"Ugghh get it together Melanie!" she said quietly has she banged her head on her hand.

She quickly found a bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She turned the water on and washed her hands then splashed some cold water on her face. It felt nice and refreashing on her skin. It seemed to wake her up.

She quickly dried her hands and face, not wanting to make Loic wait to long. She unrolled her sleeves and undid the messy bun her hair was in.

She ran her small slender fingers through her hair making sure it wasnt tangled and messy.

With one last look in the mirror she headed out back through the kitchen trying to ignore the smell of pancakes that still lingered in the air.

She stepped outside next to Loic "Alright," she said "all ready to go." This time she was able to put on a more genuine smile.

LOIC GARNIER.

Loic put his phone away as Melanie stepped out.

"Onwards, then."

He was going to help her down the stairs of the flat when a shy-looking blonde came over, apparently to see them. He wasn't exactly sure how to respond - he didn't know that many people in America, and he certainly had never seen her before. Maybe she was a DWMA student? She couldn't have been sent by Medina - right?

"Hello. Do you have any business with me?" Loic drummed his fingers on the phone in his pocket, debating whether or not he should text Linda and ask if Medina was actually taking action to take him back.

Ami froze because she thought this guy is interrupted and disappointed. She said to her mind: (Whoa Ami, control yourself, no Fire Slap). She controlled and said, "Hello, I just... moved here and a new student, I just want to meet someone". Ami's hands were warmer because of her shock like she's almost summoning fire but she controlled herself and her fire died.

As the blonde was speaking, Loic scanned her soul with his Perception. He found nothing sinister; though the soul seemed feisty, there were no qualities that he could identify with one of Medina's "minions", as Linda liked to call them. However, something that could only be seen through this vision bothered him - a sudden concentration of energy on her hands. It dissapitaed before he could even react with a similar threat. Loic decided to hold off on demonstrating Soul Drive - he didnt want to reveal anything just yet.

"Oh."

Loic was taken aback. He didn't expect such a blatant answer from the timid looking blonde.

"I'm new too." He answered. "You're in the DWMA, aren''t you?"

Entertaining a guest was something natural for him, and he could hide his feelings well while doing so. He did it countless times in German when snotty "friends" of his came over to the mansion.

Melanie and Loic were about to leave when a small blonde girl showed up at their doorstep. She had never seen this girl before and wondered what she wanted.

Mel could tell Loic had never met her either and this added to her curiosity to who this girl was, but she kept her mouth shut and decided to let Loic talk to her, he seemed better at this than her.

Wait, Look, Sorry for interrupting, but I just wanted to greet someone from school. So sorry that you're disappointed Krisha said this fast as her soul was warming up and sighed.

"N-no, there's no need to apologize. Really." Loic felt his cheeks darken a bit in embaressment. Was he really giving off the wrong message?

"I don't mean to be cold. It's just - where I come from, people are not friendly." That must've been the largest understatement in his life. "I'm not used to being approached by people who have no ulterior motives." He spoke truthfully. "Clearly, though you have none, so -" He fumbled for words to give a smooth finish.

"Yeah." He finished lamely, knowing his cheeks were a bit pink. Curse his pale skin...
