As much as Jazi hated the rain she hated snow more. Really she didn’t like precipitation of any kind. She enjoyed sunlight and being warm. So, it was a wonder to why she was flying around near the top of a mountain where it was both cold and snowing. Shivering she tucked her wings in, attempting to land gracefully. Of course a graceful landing wasn’t in the cards for the Goddess of Clumsiness. She tripped over her paws landing on her face in the snow sending up a flurry of the white stuff.
“I really need to get better at that.” With a huff she pushed herself up, shaking the snow off of her. She hadn’t seen anyone during her not so smooth landing and so she was surprised when she heard a voice she didn’t recognize. “Well, I don’t know. It looked a bit fun to me.” Jazi turned quickly upon hearing the voice, violet eyes wide.
Behind her, in a prime position to have seen the whole fiasco, was a very big, very fluffy blue lion. He was even bigger than her, though not as big as a God. She guessed that he lived in the mountains, his coat sure looked thick enough for him to stay warm even in a super cold place like this.
“Maybe to you, but I don't particularly like the cold, or the snow. Or mountains really.”
Tiiifu laughed, his face friendly. “If you don't like snow or mountains or cold than why are you on a cold snowy mountain? You would think you'd stay as far from here as you could.” He wasn't too upset about her saying she didn't like his home. He loved it which was all that mattered, plus she was a Goddess (the wings kinda gave it away) and he knew it was stupid to piss off the Gods.
Jazi stared at him, about to make some retort, but then she paused. Why was she here? After a moment she sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat as she sat down. “I got lost.” It was true, she hadn't meant to travel this far into the mountains. She had been looking for a quaint little oasis she had seen near the base once, she thought maybe she could show it to Tindika. But on her search she had gotten turned around, and before she knew it she was in the mountains.
Hearing her predicament Tiifu smiled walking towards her. “Well, luckily for you, miss, I know this mountain very well. I grew up here, even. So, If you'll allow me it would be my pleasure to guide you out.”
Jazi perked up at that, eyes hopefully. He wanted to help her? Of course she would take his help, if she didn't she'd probably end up stuck on the mountain forever and she didn't enjoy the sound of that. “That would be very much appreciated, thank you.” She paused a moment when she realized something. “I'm Jazi'bahati,” She wasn't much good with introductions, but at least now he knew her name.
Tiifu smiled dipping low in front of her. “Tiifu, at your service, Goddess.”
The Goddess of Clumsiness couldn't help but get a little flustered when he called her Goddess, no one ever really called her Goddess even though she was one. Probably because she was so clumsy no one would believe she was a Goddess if she didn't have wings.
“Well, thank you, Tiifu. Now let's get out of here.”
The lion smiled and nodded turning and heading down the path he had been walking up earlier. It wasn't really that hard to get off the mountain, but he knew he thought that because he had been born on it. For outsiders it was more like a maze, and he had seen more than one lion skeleton to prove how dangerous it was.
“It shouldn't take us too long to get down, and it is a downhill climb which makes everything seem like it goes faster, don't you think?”
Jazi paused a moment thinking about that. “Well, now that you mention it I suppose it does. Unless you start to fall down the hill, then you really do go faster.”
Tiifu couldn't help but laugh at that and looked back at her. “So do you fall often then?”
Jazi sighed, wings drooping a bit. “All the time. I am the Goddess of Clumsiness after all, it comes with the territory.”
Tiifu was a bti surprised to hear what she was the goddess of, but it didn't bother him too much. “Well, that sounds like a bit of a drag.”
Jazi nodded, stumbling as she did. Walking and moving her head at the same time was not a good idea. “Yeah, but I'm used to it.”
Tiifu nodded and began to focus on the downwards climb. After all his bravado about knowing the way he didn't want to get them more lost. He didn't think she would appreciate that and he knew he wouldn't appreciate being clumsy for the rest of his life.
Almost an hour later they finally reached the base of the mountain and Tiifu looked back at the Goddess. “And here we are, back on the Savannah.”
Jazi took a deep breath of the warm, dry hair and couldn't help but grin. “Thank you Tiifu, that really was very kind of you to guide me all the way down here.”
The blue lion looked embarrassed for a moment but then smiled. “It was my pleasure really.”
Jazi turned towards him with a smile. “Maybe I'll see you again someday” With that she took to the air flying away away from the mountain and the very helpful lion.
Tiifu watched the Goddess until she was just a speck in the sky and then he sighed. It was time to make the trek back up the mountain. Raja would be missing him.
