Take the red pill; see how deep the rabbit hole goes. Or at least, see how deep the crazy went right? ‘Morpheus’ and all his odd notes about the terrorists at large in the city, and his claim to have met one of them waited, or should be waiting for you at the given time and the set place. The conspiratorial napkin didn’t have a very good shelf life; it was flimsy and wanted to tear given the slightest provocation. Maybe that’s why paranoid delusional people wrote on them all the time in the movies.

He was waiting at least; the address was no more terrifying than the bench outside a small Greek Restaurant. Specifically the address was the Restaurant but he was waiting outside on the bench with a satchel and a bored expression as he jotted things into another notebook. He looked up at the sound of your shoes over the concrete and gave a small nod before slipping the notebook he’d been writing in into his bag and pulling out a sheaf of notes. A few notes that looked like excerpts from larger descriptions, just something about them said he had more that he hadn’t written out in full.

“I noticed they seem to be consistent about what they call themselves. At least the ones in the video are, not sure about the rest. That was what started my little project. Trying to pin down as much information as I could about any who made a repeat appearance. But what’s the most interesting is what you don’t see on the news.”

Levi hadn't really been sure what to expect when he arrived at the location. Was the guy luring him out away from the crowds so he could kill him? The thought had crossed his mind, but at the same time, he didn't really think the guy was nearly big enough to accomplish something like that. Levi wasn't really a large man by his own right, but he would have been confident in his ability to take him. Besides that, it was a lot of trouble just to kill someone, right?

He came to a stop next to the blue-haired teen just as he began to ramble, the scuffing of his half-laced chucks coming to a halt. He had his laptop in a beaten up, frayed back pack that he slung over one shoulder. It made his posture a little lopsided, but anything to make him look a little more rough around the edges (and thus less child-like) was A+ in his book.

His hands reached for the papers Zac offered without a word, skimming them with that same kind of curiosity he had shown with the notebook the day before. His ears listened even as his eyes drifted over the information, and finally he glanced back up at the teenager with a nod.

"Alright, I'm hooked, what's the most interesting part?" No hellos or trivial greetings - Levi enjoyed being to the point.

“To the point.” Zac nodded, approvingly of all things like you just passed some unwritten exam. “Excellent, follow me, I’ll talk while we walk, alright?” He said standing and shouldering his own bag. He headed towards the park, quiet at this time of night but well lit for the better part of it. People sometimes said that the ‘crazy teens in monster costumes’ liked to hang out there but Zac didn’t seem phased by that bit of gossip.

Then again they said the ‘crazy teens in monster costumes’ showed up just about everywhere.

“Well, think on this.” He said waving his hand to encompass all that lay before them. “The senshi, they’re fighting someone, something more than ‘crazy kids in monster suits’. He said quiet seriously. “Something organized enough to stay out of the way, stay quiet and keep people from panicking more than the senshi already want them to, maybe even keeping them from panicking as MUCH as the senshi want them to.”

He stuffed his hands into his pockets, casual as anything, even a slight slouch that diminished the already small differences in height between you.

Levi fell comfortably into place at Zac's side as they began a stroll towards the park. He had, indeed, heard the stories about all the things that lurked in the shadows there after dark. He also took frequent shortcuts through the place regardless and had, to date, never seen any of the people or creatures that the urban legends supposedly warned against.

He just swayed along next to the blue-haired teen with his hands in his pockets and his sneakers scuffing along the ground. He was listening, though his eyes were narrowed on the ground and his brows furrowed over the look of contemplation. He was beginning to think, from the familiarity with which the other teenager spoke, that he knew a little bit more about all of this than the average citizen. Was that all just from simple research?

"There's an anti-terrorist movement already?" He glanced up at Zac with slightly narrowed eyes, clicking his tongue behind closed lips as he considered it. "Or, anti-senshi, as you're calling it?" Then, something dawned on him and he glanced around calmly, peering through the darkness as if he expected a crowd of teenagers dressed in Guy Fawkes masks to come pouring out of the shrubbery.

"Is this some kind of weird recruitment thing?" He gestured at himself with a questioning look on his face. "I'm not really the kind of guy you want fighting crime and stuff, if you haven't noticed. I'm not sure why you're out here fighting crime if that's what this is about. Talk about underdogs, bro." He still didn't seem panicked, mostly just confused.

Zac laughed, “Say it is a recruitment drive. Do you really think that there wouldn’t be some kind of advantage or edge they have against freaks running around with what you might as well call magical power in mini skirts?”

“And, I certainly wouldn’t do that alone, fighting senshi I mean. No you’d need a good and diverse crew of people who knew what they were up against. Like finding out that the terrorists are trying to bring some kind of “Moon Princess” back to rule. Not really my idea of a good time. And I wouldn’t be too sure that the ‘Counter terrorists’ are without resources of their own, skills given for the purpose of keeping the senshi from taking over.”

The transition was seamless, the small shadow between streetlights encompassed it, one moment a civilian, the next, Morpheus indeed. A long dark coat marred only with Smokey designs that crawled and curled up from the hem. As familiar as what you could see of his face was, it was like he became another person. Had you not just –seen- the change you might never have associated the two young men. He shrugged looking casually amused.

“Say it is a recruitment drive, Red pill or blue Pill ‘Neo’.”

As much weird as he had claimed to have seen was mostly all second hand, on a computer through a screen. To date, the sudden change was the strangest thing that Levi had ever laid eyes on - and it showed.

The kid tripped over his own feet in shock, dropping his bag as he tripped partially over his own feet and stumbled. His bright eyes went wide in shock and he stared, mesmerized, at the guy standing before him. He pushed himself up from his half slouched position, grimacing at the way his hand stung where he'd caught himself from falling face first on the pavement. Yet even that small pain couldn't tear his eyes away from the guy standing before him.

Normally he'd think it was a joke, but it felt real.

As he pushed himself back up to his joke of a height, he suddenly felt smaller than normal. Even if the guy hadn't grown to six feet tall, it was easy to shrink in his presence. Levi stood there, staring, for a long time. He hadn't run away though and didn't seem to want to, not yet.

Levi was impulsive at best and lacked a survival instinct at worse. There was what was equivalent to a super hero (in his view) standing in front of him and offering him power - what sixteen year old wouldn't be greedy enough to accept it?

"Red pill, Morpheus, I'm all in." A nervous smile split his lips as he nuged his fallen bag with a foot. He wasn't sure what he was getting himself into, but it felt like the beginning to the best video game ever.

“I should warn you.” The man said approaching. “This will hurt.” He stated it, a fact, inescapable and direct. It was a good thing his face was covered because he still had little taste for reaching into the chest of another. The power it gave him over their life was tainted by the small shudder that he was being intimate with someone who was fundamentally a stranger, but he wasn’t going to leave this open for questions or doubt.

“But pain brings clarity.” He said just before he pushed his hand forward, and through Levi’s chest to curl his hand around the star seed within. Human, finally another human…after stumbling on the last two Senshi whom had been recruited with outside help he’d started to doubt his ability to recruit anyone that was ‘from’ earth. He pushed the dark power into the fragile warmth in his hand, a smoldering darkness that changed something about the young man in his grasp. Something important that spilled outward into more visible changes.

The instant that the General-King's hand breached the barrier of his flesh and dived into a subspace Levi wasn't even aware existed, he began to think that maybe he had made his decision a little too quickly.

Unfortunately, it was also too ******** late to turn back.

As the first surge of power breached his starseed, he grit his teeth. As it continued to pour, like molten lava through ever inch of his being, his hands reached up and curled around the arm protruding from his chest. His short cut nails tried to find a grip in vain, clinging with a death grip to the thick fabric of his sleeves as a low growl of anguish rumbled from his throat.

Ever so slightly the magic began to show - a hoodie and jeans were traded for a uniform in black and green, glamour poured over every inch of his skin until he was completely different but exactly the same all at once.

As the magic subsided and he was left clinging desperately to the hand of the man in blue, his chest heaved with breath he never thought he'd catch again. His body shivered with each intake as he stared into Zink's face, then he managed to find his words again.

"What in the <********>?" Eloquent.

“Welcome to the Negaverse Lieutenant Domeykite.” He said un-phased as he withdrew his hand and flexed his fingers to shake off the last of the feelings of corrupting another from his own hand. “At least you didn’t say ‘Woah’ I suppose.” He glanced you over with a critical eye, pausing to arch an eyebrow at the Megaphone.

“Welcome to what stands between civilians and being taken over by the senshi Matriarchy. Your weapon for the time being is your Megaphone, it will get better when you earn a higher rank with our organization.” He nodded and looked pleased.

“You’ll find you’re strong than you are as a civilian, you can jump a good deal higher as well so do be mindful of low ceilings.” He beckoned you to follow and kept walking. “I’m General King Zinkenite. I choose to specialize in collecting information on the senshi to make your more combat oriented lieutenants better prepared to face anyone of them they meet in battle. Protecting the information is vital, that’s a good part of why I hoped you’d join us.”

Almost instantly, Domeykite realized that everything around him sounded a little too muffled. With a frown he reached for his ears with his free hand, the one not holding the megaphone that had randomly appeared, and found that they were covered by a pair of headphones. He pulled them down and let them hang around his neck instead, just in time to hear Zinkenite give him a secret code name.

Despite his initial reaction, he was back to being a man of few words. He stooped down to grab his bag at the last second and then fell back into step next to his.. General-King? That was a fancy ******** title if he had ever heard one, but to him it still sounded a little ridiculous.

"That makes sense," he mumbled finally, though he had taken to inspecting his megaphone as he listened to Zink's explanation. What was he supposed to do with a megaphone? For a moment he was distracted by imagining all the ways he was going to have his a** handed to him if he tried to hit someone with it, no matter what kind of new super powers Zink claimed he had. He could have, for all he knew, but it still seemed a little.. irrational.

But then Zink's purpose became clear through his words. He wasn't recruited for his battle prowess.

"I can do that," he seemed confident as he finally glanced up at Zinkenite again, drawing his attention away from his own physical changes. "I still don't completely understand this whole..whateverthehell, but I can do that." A pause. "General-King."

“Simplistically, we serve Chaos, that is what gives us the strength and power we need to combat the senshi, God knows what further damage they would do if they were allowed free reign of the world. They recruit children now, six and eight year olds in a war where our people have been tortured for information. Trying to find the civilian identities of our leaders. They say they fight for ‘Love’ and ‘Justice’ but you’ll see soon enough its whomever they feel is worthy of being loved by them, and the justice is whatever they see fit.” His words were almost emotionless.

A pause in his step at the tacked on ‘General-King’, an amused crinkles at the corners of his eyes. “We have a General-Queen as well, and Queen Beryl, whom if you are wise you will never mock in the Dark Kingdom, which I will show you.” He gave a small shrug, almost casual, just to the edge of friendly. “Needless to say, we don’t pick our own titles, but they do convey Rank. Lieutenant, then Captain, and then General.” He didn’t include his own rank for whatever reason, but apparently it was the next step after General.

“With each rank you gain, you’ll be stronger, but you should always be mindful of the fights you start. Senshi magic can hurt a great deal.”
PostPosted: Tue Nov 22, 2011 8:59 am

Domeykite toyed with the strap of his bag as he walked along at Zinkenite's side, tugging it up and down as if he couldn't quite decide what length he wanted it to hang. The only clue that he was even listening came when the General-King mentioned children - he didn't look up, but his mouth formed something between a pensive pout and a sneer. He didn't know a lot about whatever this war was over, but he knew eight-year-olds didn't belong in it.

That was wrong on levels even Domey could see.

He finally gave up on the strap and looked back up at Zink, following the progression of rank he was detailing. It made sense. In Domey's head it was already a challenge, like evolving his pokemon. He'd have to ask how it worked later. Hopefully without some rare evolution stone. He just nodded in response for the time being.

"They actually have magic?" It was an odd that he when he finally spoke again, that was what he chose to comment on. "It's not like a magician, I take it? More than doves and bunnies?" So he was still a little skeptical, it was his right.

“It’s the only word I can think of to describe someone who can touch you and dissolve your skin, muscle, bones and more, even if it is temporary tell that to the nerve endings that still function where they haven’t been decayed yet. I’m told it’s a ‘treat’.” He said with darkly glittering eyes for just a moment. “Others aren’t quite so directly dangerous, but you should absolutely be careful of them, regardless of how strong they are they poses strange skills rather than amplified ones. The strangest we can do is that beyond Captain we can teleport, anything else I’d say you can safely assign to ‘amplified’ but human abilities.

“If you don’t believe me, you will before long, but think on this, did you ever think you’d have someone pass a hand through your chest before?”
PostPosted: Tue Nov 29, 2011 10:04 am

The horror that passed over Domey's face was hard to miss. He was skeptical about the magical girls in sailor suits, but the idea of his arm rotting clean off was not something he thought he would enjoy - skeptical or not. He was instantly thinking of a thousand video game remedies for something that horrific, but the answer each time was that nothing would save him from that, except magic.

He had never experienced anything like that, or even his own transformation. All he had to justify it was his extensive knowledge of video game logic.

"No," he answered finally, quiet, and his skepticism and smart assness sobered by the ideas he was being presented with. "I didn't expect any of this," he waved the hand that wasn't clutching his bag strap at the open air, encompassing himself and the mystical war beyond them somewhere.

"Where do I start?" He looked up at Zink's eyes as he asked, ready to start learning whatever he had to. He still wasn't sure this was all happening, but he was starting to.

He beckoned you to follow, leading you towards some homeless drunk sprawled out on a bench, half sleeping under cardboard and newspapers. “Your first assignments, and your primary duty will be to gather energy, because you’re a Lieutenant, you must do so by touch.” He stepped aside to let you lay hand on the man.

“When you do, concentrate on pulling it out, it’s easier than you think.” He nodded, remembering the first time they had received instruction on how to do this task. “You too may reach into someone and touch a star seed, you may even remove it if you must. Doing so will kill, or eventually kill the person.” He said matter-of-fact-ly though there was an odd look on his face.
