Sometimes, Painite found, it was fun to return to basics. She had started her tenure as a Negaverse agent by setting traps and being over the top. While she kept the lattermost part of the deal, her traps had become quite different to the gizmos and rigs she had started with. She wanted to make something that called back to the 'good old days', though the new days were even better.
Why not have a bit of fun?
She was working in the park, though off the usual trails. Her energy signature would draw some do gooder, she was sure, and they wouldn't have to deal with civilians wandering the darkened trees at this time of night. Anyway, even if some idiot did stray too far from the street lamps, she'd just drain them and use them as extra bait.
She was using rope to set up a tiger's trap of sort, a sort of Wile E. Coyote situation, with a loop of rope on the ground set to a trip wire and a weight. Someone stepped in the loop and tripped the wire, and they would find themselves hanging upside down.
And helpless as Painite drained their energy. Or pulled out their starseed. Classic, awesome fun.
Now she just had to wait for a senshi to arrive. She hid the trap as best she could, then moved to hide herself as well, though it hardly mattered since she was powered up and the whole point was for a senshi to feel her and come sniffing.

Why did she always make these patrols at night? Maybe they weren't such a good idea. She as sixteen, she liked to think she was cute and...well...she didn't like to think about it but there were quite a few freaks out there. She was a supposedly defenseless young girl in a poofy white dress and heels. And she didn't want to use force unless she had to. But there were more than just freaks in Destiny City, there was also...the Negaverse. Speaking of which, she felt one of them now. Andromeda stopped in her tracks and looked all around, waiting for them to pop out. It was a strong one..kind of like how Zinkenite had felt before he got his promotion or whatever it was. It was...weird. She didn't like it.
"Hello..?" Andromeda called out, walking slowly along the path. "I know you're there...I...I don't want to fight you. If you just come out I promise I won't, like...turn on you..? Or something." She stopped, noticing something strange about that pile of leaves there. It looked very out of place. It was too perfect.
...No freakin' way.
Andromeda blinked, bending down to pluck lightly at a thin string in front of her feet.
She suddenly felt like she was in a cartoon. No way. This had to be some kind of joke. She jumped off the string and stepped around the leaf pile, looking all around. Okay. This had to be a joke..

Painite heard the senshi's voice, feeling the aura as it got closer. She rolled her eyes at the very familiar words. Didn't want to fight? Well that was a damn shame, because Painite was going to-
She frowned, watching as the girl found the trip wire. Goddamn it. So this one had half an ounce more sense than most of them. That put a damper on the Negaverse General's whole evening, and she decided to do things the simple way.
Summoning her weapon, Staff Corporal Saddles, to her hand, she emerged from her hiding place. It wasn't like it would do her much good now, with the senshi so close. Anyway, hiding was boring.
"You promise?" She asked, grinning ear to ear. "That's very sweet of you. But it certainly makes things boring."
She charged then, mostly just to scare the little senshi. She looked very young, but Painite didn't recognize her as someone she actually knew and liked. That wasn't part of the game, and she never wasted her time worrying about it. Such was life. At least for them, in the middle of war.

Andromeda actually tensed as she heard a familiar voice. But it didn't belong to someone she knew...they only sounded similar. No. This wasn't her friend, this was a...oh god...she was a general. She was a Negaverse general. "Uh..thank you?" Odd of her to call her sweet but at least it wasn't something mean. Right? She hoped not.
The woman charged at her and she let out a cry, turning on her heel and booking it in the first direction away from her that she was facing. She didn't care where she was going as long as it was not within striking distance of someone who could very easily pulverize her! "Um...don't you have, uh, bigger fish to fry?! Or something..!" Andromeda cried out in a mild panic, hopping over a bench and nearly falling flat on her face as she fumbled with the landing. She kept running.
Ophelia would either be very proud of very disappointed right now. Oops.

"Of course I do!"
Painite laughed. She certainly had 'bigger to fish to fry', but they weren't as fun, a lot of the time. Sure, some people didn't like picking fights with those that were weaker than them, but Painite was not one of those people. She liked scaring the hell out of her enemies, and she often found nothing was more intimidating than sheer power.
She gave chase, though, immediately forgetting that she had set up a plan already. The chase was more fun. She was like a dog with a ball, a cat with a mouse. If it was moving away from her, then she was going to chase it. especially in moments like this, when she was seized with confidence and laughing all the way.
"Run run, little senshi! You'll meet the end of my staff either way. I hope you're as fond of the sight of blood as I am!"
