Amrita had been in a whirlwind of different emotions lately. Feelings she didn't know existed lead to questions she didn't know how to get answers to, and so she turned to the only safe thing she could think of; books. Initially, her trip to the library didn't help due to running in to an old friend. When she tried again later she was able to find something that sounded promising!

As it turns out, Kiss the Ghouls by Maims Paterson was not in fact a romance novel, it was a psychological thriller that was remarkably hard to put down. It also served it's purpose to make her momentarily paranoid, and when she heard rustling nearby the ghoul looked up from the book to stare at Roch's back. Whoa, when did he get there?! Wait, where was she, again...? No no, hold on. That was Roch, right? She'd recognize that spikey hair anywhere.

Roch was looking around. He had a bag with him. Did he do something wrong? Where was he going? He was going to do something stupid, wasn't he? He probably was. But...maybe it was just the book? Perhaps she should follow him! That way she could stop him from doing something stupid. Now, Amrita was far from graceful and she certainly wasn't the sneakiest thing in Halloween, but she figured if she kept her distance enough it'd be okay.

So, once he was out of sight, Amrita tucked the book into a small side bag and followed, playing Secret Agent Undead.

Amrita kept her distance from him, trailing him and ducking behind trees if she had to. For a moment Amrita looked relieved as he moved to face the way to the train. Good, good, he was just going home. So it really was the book making her paranoid! She turned to leave, and that was when she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye; Roch wasn't going towards the trains.

Honestly? Amrita hadn't ever wandered so far from campus to know the other way was bad and not in the good sense. Furrowing her brow, she considered her options; assume his home was that way and go back to campus alone, or follow him to ensure he didn't do anything stupid. Squaring her shoulders she made her choice, and slipped after him, wandering to a completely new part of town for her.

Of course, with it being new, the terrain wasn't what she was prepared for, and a couple times her heel caught uneven ground, or her toes stepped on something that wasn't comfortable; she was a little more noisy now, filled with eeps and acks of surprise, but all thankfully very quiet as she stubbornly trailed him.

Oop, Busted!

The ghoul jumped, her eye wide as a doe in the headlights. Oh Jack! He caught her! Um, uh, just, what should she do? Clearing her throat she looked away from him, both hands fidgeting with the stap to her bag, thankfully rid of her splint and sling.

"Um, H-hi, Roch." She smiled meekly, turning her eye towards the boil. "N-no, I'm not." She lied, though it was pretty obvious that she was; she never was a good liar. "Where are
you going?" Was her next question, slowly closing the distance between them since she'd been caught.

"B-but---Wah!" She squeaked, scrambling to keep her balance while she was pulled in to the shady alley. "Do what?" Amrita pressed, a little frown appearing on her lips. The ghoul looked away from him again, instead gazing at the path they had been on a moment before. She could probably figure out a way to get back on her own, but the important question remained. "Y-you're not making me feel any better about this."

"What are you talking abou--" She paused, looking down as he did to see his watch. What was going on? On reflex she moved when he reached past her, and regretted it immediately.

"Roch!" She hissed, keeping her voice down because his was. "H-hey!" She whined, trying to catch him before he got too far out of reach; sadly she was too slow. The fire escape received a stare and she tried to jump up to catch it, but the only hand to catch it was attacked to the arm that had only recently healed.

"Nngh!" The bar was let go and the ghoul stumbled back, holding the arm that felt pulled.

The few moments of silence were unsettling; she was in a strange place, it was dark and uncomfortably so. Now that she was quite aware of the existance of Hunters, she was a little leery on places she didn't know and couldn't see very well while she was alone; this was a pretty good candidate to the whole BE SCARED notion. The single footstep made her jump, nothing more than the sound of a choking inhale escaping her. Slowly she turned towards the voice that was just behind her.

"Wh-what?" She stammered. Come on, ghoul! Think of something! You don't want him to get in trouble, do you?! Oh Jack what to do what to do--- "N-no, n-not reall---ah, uh, h-he, um, I..." She took a sidelong glance at the fire escape that was just out of reach, still holding her arm against her side. "I..I'm just too short, I-I guess." Which...wasn't a complete lie, really. She was too short to follow him, otherwise he wouldn't have left her behind.

"N-no." She squeaked out timidly, facing this higher-FEARed Roch-lookalike in an unfamiliar alley enough to make her forget to explain herself very well. Not...that she ever did it well to begin with. His cutie comment did make her blush, but it was more of a nervous fluster than anything; whether it was modesty or just plain forgetfulness, she didn't respond to it.

...How many ghoulfriends did he have chasing him...? Amrita's nose scrunched for a moment, taking a hesitant look around her. She was a ghoul, she was his friend, and as far as she could tell, she was the only one chasing him. Or had been if it weren't for the ladder. "U-um...J-just me, right now, uh, Sir."

But she didn't go on, though after watching him go up the ladder and after Roch she did consider going home. That had to have been his Father, right? Didn't Parents look after their kids? Or they should have; her Parents weren't exactly clear models. As was her custom, she waited until he was almost out of sight before getting that stubborn look about her and following, now that the ladder was closer to her.

She was much more careful about her arm, though.
