It had been a long day and Zuberi was already missing his lifemate Nanu as she had to go visit some family in the upper part of the lands. She wanted to go off to spend a few days with the other females in her family... which was understandable, but it still sucked. He wasn't always moody he just really enjoyed spending his time with his Nanu. Staring off into the distance Zuberi listened to the faint hum of the bugs flying, the trees blowing in the wind, and the faint trickling of water. It was all so very relaxing...AND BORING. He snorted and stood up trying to decide the best course of action.
Laelia was having a very rough morning. Not only did she nearly get killed by a runaway herd but for some reason the rogue lands were not as homey-feeling as they once were. She felt a change in the wind, a sense of moving on with her life and heading for another place to settle down. She wanted to make a family and have someone to spend her days with or possibly care for the young ones. Laelia had always been kind-hearted and patient with the little ones especially when they were in a mood. But all the cubs she had taken care of had grown and moved away with their families as the rogue lands were huge as well as no sense of unity among those living there.
' Well, maybe this hadn't been a good idea after all,' Zuberi thought while running for his life. Who knew if you ate someone's food without knowing could be so dangerous? He let out a startled yelp as the angry female somehow cornered him. " Ho-honest nanny I didn't mean to take it! It was a mistake!" His old nanny from the pride glowered at him balefully before snorting and telling him that he still hadn't changed from the last time she took care of him. She gave him one last repremand and wondered back to the group of giggling cubs watching from the temple steps.
She was doing it. She was going to say goodbye to the rogue lands and move on with her life. Laelia had wanted change for so long and with no responsibilities for her to deal with she thought there was no better time like the present. Packing what little she had and looking around her little cave that keep her dry as well as warm during the worst of weathers Laelia nodded to herself then walked away from her lands silently saying goodbye.
Few hours later after that little embarassing incident with the food Zuberi decided to check out the area that held the ruins for a bit. Nanu was supposed to come back in a few days aways so it was best to stay out of trouble for now. A wickedly handsome smile crossed his face at the thought before a sound broke the wicked thoughts running through his mind. "..." He opened his mouth to say something but decided to keep quiet for now and listened some more....huh a female voice.
" Great, great I had to listen to that sly looking hyena a mile back and now look where I am. Lost! In this...hot and dessert land." She plopped her butt down on sand for a moment before sighing. A sound interrupted her thoughts and she whirled around ready to face her enemy. "Oh," Laelia breathed out as she took in the young teen that appeared before her. He was a lovely golden color. "Hello there, can you tell me where I am?"
Zuberi paused and silently judged the what appeared lone female. "Heya, you're in the Tuait'tekem Lands dudette." He eyed the dark female not used to the colors, those that lived here were lighter in color. "You look exhausted, who long have you been traveling? Must be pretty far if you don't even know the lands."
"Dudette? -Um well you see my name is Laelia-," Laelia coughed her throat was so dry. "Sorry but do you know where water is? I haven't had a drink in a long while and.. I just finished off my gather food supply. I know I am all so forward but please any help would be appreciated."
"Sure, you don't look like the bad sort but I will have to take you to the elders for entrance. It's not safe to have strangers roaming about our lands. The names Zuberi'Obi by the way, you can all me Zuberi if you want." Zuberi started to walk towards the temple entrance and spoke over his shoulder for Laelia to follow him.
She did as instructed eyeing everything around her in wonder. It was all so pretty, the stones, the drawings, the symbols. She had never seen anything like it before in her life. "Thank you for helping me-hey! Your paws are dirty! You should wash them off before ruining the coverings on the floor."
Zuberi wrinkled his nose before speaking, "You sound like my old nanny. You know dudette you gotta live a little." As he lounged his upper body on a warm stone in a cocky-attitude and saw as she raised an eyebrow in amusement. "Hey don't knock it til you've tried it Laelia and wait here while I go ask for permission." He gave her a serious look. " And really do wait here cause... if you don't I will have to get the guard and a big hassle will happen kay?" He smiled when he got a nod in answer. "Be right back~"
Laelia watched as Zuberi walked into the door and disappeared. Looking around Laelia felt right, this place was comforting and maybe just maybe she could find the comfort she needed. Possibly a job as well... hopefully one involving cubs. She had a feeling if she was accepted in this land that she would like it here, of course the heat was somewhat unbearable but she would get used to it with time and she had plenty of it.
Zuberi wandered back out with a large grin on his face. "Hey, you are welcome here Laelia. Come and I will show you around~"
END.
