Barth and Christof were already familiar with the lack of previous mention when a kelpie visited. During the summer, Calder just showed up to visit Barth and in similar fashion popped up in front of Christof's door. It was typical considering very few of his kind knew how to write, and those who did wrote in kelpie. It was even rarer for them to write the Pumpkin King's English as there was little reason. Who would they write to. Phones weren't tolerated and Calder had only been given one by his parents because sending letters would be hard when there wasn't a direct river route connecting them to send by serpent or some other water creature.

Calder had not been expecting visitors, but when he was notified by a school gnome that his guardian was here to see him, Calder had taken just a brief moment to feel happy that one of his parents had showed up. He dearly missed then. And then, when he felt that the mention of A guardian and not guardians was mentioned, he knew it wasn't true. His parents didn't travel separately. It was dangerous to travel the woods alone. They would have come together. No. This was someone else.

Someone much worse.

Someone who could made Calder's life a living hell.

This was Murchadh.

The kelpie was waiting for him on the school grounds, glancing about and looking over various students, judging them up and down but finding not a single one a threat. In fact, he caught a few students attention, either for being a strange sight and a bit of a creeper with how intensely he stared, or because of his gloriously good looks. Calder had quickly dressed in his best kilt, shirt, and jacket, and arranged his hair into a nice ribbon and arrived as quickly as he could. Looking like trash or being late was not a good things, he knew.

He was imitating before the younger boil made himself known. A statue of glossy black hair running in a river down his back and tumbling about his shoulders and back. It seemed today he wasn't tying it up or styling it in any fashion. The pumpkin Sun glistened against, making it seem as if it was still wet in it's dark, rich sheen. The older kelpie was tall, slender, but far more built than most of his kind, with strong legs sporting a heavy, black fur down his legs and about his hooves. Legs that could trample and also run like the wind. A tradition outfit of a long, thick kilt was worn along with a white tunic shirt with plants embroidered about the hem, and a tartan across his chest. He wore his jacket open, and was wearing a simple pack on his back showing how little he actually needed when traveling.

The Stallion's ear flickered and then he turned his sharp chin and slender eyes to the one student he knew. "I came to visit." The kelpie stated, as if it wasn't obvious. He looked the boil up and down, before walking, expecting the other to follow. Calder did, ears back and walking by his side but slightly in front as to give the Lead Stallion the proper respect. "What happened to you?" He asked, looking at the boil's hands and his slightly paler-than-normal complexion.

"Uh...we had a field trip that got a little rough. It's nothing." He certainly wasn't about to tell the Stallion that a professor was killed by hunters. Calder was walking on thin ice with just being at this school, something the elder keplie seemed to see no reason for.

"I see. I suppose it will strengthen you. Come. I need to run errands in this town. You will take me." It was a order, not a request. Calder saw it as a chore, but nodded. He knew were a few things where, and considering he was in this town and knew the layout of the territory, it was expected of him to show other members of the clan around. That and to negotiate and do damage control should others not understand the Lead Stallion.

"We also need to talk." The other said, his sharp, tide-pool blue eyes narrowing down on the boil and causing Calder to hunch , wanting to run off to grow smaller. These were the eyes of a kelpie that had mastered his glare and could both lure and terrify with a glance. Needless to say, Calder was not feeling very lured to the other right about now.

Swallowing, he nodded, and the pair left the campus grounds together.
