Candace was humming cheerfully as she walked across the training field with Circe, twirling her with both hands like a cheerleader with a baton. The only thing she didn't do was toss her in the air; Candace was not risking having herself chopped in half again even with the knowledge of the fear shield. There was a wide grin on her face, her eyes wide and her humming fairly manic. She'd fought Jordan using Circe, and regardless of the outcome she was feeling great.
She couldn't even hear Atropos' snarling in the back of her head anymore. All she felt was the blissful feeling of power rushing through her body. It was just like back in the room. She was invincible, she was perfect. For now she was going to forget this scythe was not really hers and that the owner, the much more powerful owner at that, was going to want it back. Right now this scythe, this beautiful shining blue beacon of energy, was hers.

Jerry was still feeling winded from his match against Marcus, having taken a seat on the grass to catch his breath. The cheerful humming caught his attention, of course, glancing blearily over his shoulder before frowning at what he saw. Oh, no... Candace! He had been trying to strategically avoid her since the doctors had told him to air out his burns.
But he was sitting in the middle of an open field. There wasn't exactly a place to run nor hide anywhere handy without looking like he was trying to avoid her.
It wasn't until she had gotten closer that he noticed exactly *what* she was twirling.
His face paled, and he righted Roar up until he pointed at the sky like a protective pillar, half hiding to keep his face obscured behind it.

A movement caught her eye and she caught Circe in both hands, holding her like a farmer with a scythe to reap wheat with. Who was over there? She turned on her heel to see who was there. Her next playmate. Yes. Circe's next toy. Ohhh! She recognized that bazooka! "Jeeeeeeeerryyyyy~." Candace sang as she twirled Circe in a way that put her behind her back. It was not an attempt to hide her by any means considering even Candace was not out of her mind enough to think that a six foot tall glowing blue scythe could be hidden behind her so easily. "Fancy seeing you out here, baby. Did you come to play with Circe and I~?" Her voice was sweet...too sweet. The smile on her face wasn't quite right either. Candace released Circe with one hand to hold her in the other to reach around his bazooka to try to touch his face.
He moved away, looking and sounding nervous. "..Jerry?" She was confused, a feeling intensified by her adrenaline-filled brain. Candace tried to peek around the bazooka but he insisted on hiding behind it. She looked crushed. And annoyed. And confused. And crushed. And sad. Circe's rushing energy was making feelings that weren't power-hungry mania really difficult to comprehend. "Jerry. Why are you hiding from me?"
Her bottom lip quivered and she backed away. "Circe. He hates me. I don't know what to do. He hates meeeeee." Candace whined to the scythe, hugging the handle now like that was enough to comfort her. Truth be told it kind of was.

Jerry groaned, his feeble dance seeming to make matters worse. Still attempting to keep the crispier side of his face behind the weapon, a brown eye was wide behind his glasses as he peered out at her, "Candace... w-where did you get that? We're not supposed to touch other Hunter's weapons, you know that." Especially... that weapon. He knew that weapon, a lot better than he wished he did. It hadn't been Candace who slaughtered him, but the more he vaguely heard about what had gone on... back then... after he had "died" the first time left a twist in his stomach. "Is... is Dr. H. performing an experiment? M-maybe you should er... p-put it back. Before you're in trouble."

Oh yay! She could see his face again! Candace grinned and clapped her hands together with excitement, keeping Circe in her arms. Why was he still hiding though? Candace's grin became a pout as she held the scythe in one hand again and stepped closer to Jerry to put a hand on Roar to push him away; the only problem was the moment she did that her eyes widened again and darted to the bazooka. Her racing heart felt like it skipped a few beats as she let out a helplessly manic laugh, her fingers pressing against the bazooka's side before she forced herself away to instead wrap that arm around Jerry's neck and bring him close for a heavy kiss. Damnit! His talking! Why was he talking stop talking she wanted to kiss him shut uuuuup! Wait, what was he even saying? Ohhhh. Heh. Fun story. She purred and nuzzled her face against his burn-free cheek, pressing little kisses against it. "Caelius' hospital room of course. I went to go see how our dear leader was doing. Circe sat on my head and Cael was like 'you should take her she likes you' so I am. I'm taking her out for a walk. She needs exercise." Candace didn't sound right. Her voice was low, almost...seductive? But that still wasn't right. She didn't sound like herself. This was not how Candace talked.
Suddenly Candace blinked, leaning back and slowly tilting her head to one side. "...Trouble?" She giggled, grinning again and stepping away. "Oh, Jerry." Candace purred. This woman was not in her right mind, gripping the shaft of the scythe with both hands now. "I've been a bad girl. You should punish me." She laughed at her own joke, shaking her head a bit. Oh, but she was hilarious~!

This was more serious than a bit of self consciousness about the state of his face. Games over, the man straightened to stand beside his cannon as Roar gave a hiss at being touched. "Candace," He wished he would stop flushing from the sudden kiss, but he kept his voice as firm as possible, "I really think... you should put down that scythe. Our superiors don't tell us everything, but they told us enough about other people's weapons..."

Jerry's firm voice was surprising to Candace but her reaction was not unpleasant. In fact she looked rather excited at first. Her grip tightened, however, and she did frown when she realized he was scolding her. How could he scold her when she had just explained!? "Caelius said I could." She turned the scythe in her hands so it was at a more attack-ready angle. "You should really give it a try, Jerry. It feels amazing." She laughed. "It's almost as good as sex!" Or maybe better. Everything was awesome except for Jerry's scolding.
"Come here, Jerry. I'll let you touch it~."

He took a step away as the blade was waved in his direction, swallowing thickly, "Yes, well, Caelius doesn't ALWAYS have our best intentions in mind," He managed weakly. He had never even gotten the chance to touch the scythe back in that Room, but if that wild look in Candace's eyes meant anything... "What does YOUR weapon think about this? Think about her..." He tried to at least *sound* reasonable.

Her...weapon? Candace blinked and stared dumbly at Jerry, looking down at the scythe. Wait, no. It wasn't the scythe she was looking at it was her hands; the gemmed rings on her fingers that usually glowed looked like simple costume jewelry. There was no hint of light, not even the reflection of the sun on them. Atropos was angry and refusing to do anything more than growl in the back of Candace's head, growls and snarls and hisses that Candace's power-thirsty mind just was not registering. "She's fine with it." It was a lie, one she told with a glare. "I'm doing what you asked. I'm done with feeling down about myself, Jerry. I'm finally perfect whenever I hold this scythe. I was last time, I was perfect. Striking enemies down with a single strike. It was amazing. And oh god if you could just feel this. It's like..I don't even know how to describe it more than I already did! It's just...there are no words to do this feeling justice."
Candace had officially gone off the deep end. It seemed her own self-inferiority complex was driving her to drastic measures.

Jerry could sense it in her voice, in her body language, everything... Alright, so even in normal circumstances, the woman was... spirited to say the least. "Is... is that what you really want to do? Cut down anyone and everyone?" He swallowed thickly. "I'm... somewhat glad I didn't see what you could do with it. Back in that room." It was a bad idea, giving her that weapon. What was Caelius thinking?? An experiment, no doubt. Or a lesson. But Candace didn't deserve that sort of lesson. Whatever it was doing to her, it was like a drug. Just one more hit and I'll be AMAZING.
He bit his lip, finally shouldering Roar and doing the last thing he ever wanted to do- he aimed him at her. "Candace. Put it down."

"Perhaps not my friends, but my enemies, yes." Candace crooned, petting the scythe now. She wanted to kill those damn freaks. They made a fool out of all of them, and she had been a complete and utter failure during that mission. She'd show them. Caelius' scythe really was amazing. If she did well with her maybe he'd let her borrow Circe more often! She would really love that. She loved using her.
He said her name again and she looked up to find the bazooka was being pointed at her now. Candace raised a brow, tilting her head again. "You won't." She challenged, raising the scythe again. If he wanted her to put Circe down he was going to have to make her.

"I d-don't... want to, but... but... Candace, you're worrying me. Look, I hate those things too, but we have a weapon, and I mean... I don't know why we're warned against touching other people's weapons but that much exposure to Fear can't be good for you. If... if you wanted to spar, I'll fight Atropos." He set his jaw, trying his best to look formidable. The fact his face looked like it was half rotted helped, but his glasses slipping down his nose did not.

Candace barked with laughter as Jerry told her he was worried, shaking her head and stepping closer to the man. "Ohhhh, Jerry. Jerry, Jerry, Jerry. You shouldn't be worried about me. You should be happy for me! I'm finally not a complete failure at everything I've been doing since I got here." Ah, so that was it. That was why she was so obsessed with handling Circe. "If you want to fight me, you'll fight Circe."
Unfortunately it didn't seem Jerry was going to make the first move, and Candace was now itching for a fight. She was sick of talking. She wanted to kill something. She braced herself for the momentum and suddenly swung the scythe around like a baseball bat...with a blade on the end.
She slipped on the wet field and fell on her a** with a cry of surprise.

Jerry gave a wild, strangled cry as the blade came swinging towards him, scrambling back just in time, although he still felt the wind of it against his scabby skin. "C-candace! Just... just calm down a moment! W-we'll walk back over to Caelius and give it back, no problem-"

"I am calm!" She growled, using the scythe to pull herself up to stand again. But he suggested something that made her eyes widen again. "No! Nonono! ******** no! I'm not ready!" She didn't want to lose this feeling. No, please god no. She wanted to keep feeling good, important, powerful. Candace loved to feel like this. If she didn't feel like this then what did she have to do with herself other than just..be depressed and mopey all the time?!
She wasn't worth worrying for. Turning the scythe at a new angle she made a movement to glide toward him like she would were she wearing...Atropos. It didn't work, she merely stumbled and forced herself to turn on her heel and use the momentum from that to strike at him again.
