DEUS EX MACHINA PERSONNEL FORM

User ImageThe Hunter
Name: Minerva Di Paola
Nicknames: Min/Minnie, Vee
Gender: Female
Age: 20

Category: Death - The "intelligence" operation, in charge of gathering information and maintaining the network of Hunters. They gather the information prior to a mission.

The Weapon
Name: Blythe
Nicknames: None
Type of Weapon: Artist pick between: Dual-weilding sickles that look something like this, or these with some awesome edits/details or a two-handed sickle
Former species of weapon: Flesh rotting zombie! |D~
Gender: Female

Personalities:

Minerva

Friendly - She is a welcoming sort, willing to offer kindness where kindness will be returned.

Brave - Minnie is not afraid to step out into the unknown.

Diligent - A fine listener and careful executioner when tasks are given and needing results.

Silent - Not permanently by no means; more of the speak when spoken to type. It is just easier to understand others when she is not busy talking herself.

Orderly - Tends to execute tasks in the order that they are given, or an order in which she has devised. Rarely strays from the set-out plan and may find it difficult to do so when she has to.

Compassionate - The livelihood of man is important to Minerva; she cares about others without pause or judgement. Even those who have wronged her will receive the same amount of concern as those who she cares for dearly.

Overambitious - Nothing she will ever do will ever be good enough. Minerva pushes herself to the point of exhaustion, trying to be the best always.

Easily Disheveled - As previously stated, without a sense of organization Minnie will begin to crumble. Her resolve will no longer be set in stone as it usually is, and because of this the rest of her virtues might lose their stronghold as well. This is a trait she will hopefully rid herself of some day, as change is inevitable.

Blythe

Confident - Blythe shares a confidence in herself just as she does a confidence in others. It dances the fine line of haughtiness from time to time, but is reigned in by Minerva for the most part.

Tolerant - Of both others and her surroundings. Basically she is patient. Very, extremely patient.

Loyal - This is mostly to Minerva. Their relationship is hardly ever strained..hardly...yeah.

Honest - There would be no hair on her tongue if Blythe had one. Can be brutal about things at times.

Focused - Has no problem going from calm to rigidly alert, and will devote all of her attention to whatever task is at hand.

Distrusting - Being tolerant of another's company does not mean she has to trust them. And most of the time, unless they prove themselves worthy, Blythe will not.

Overprotective - This is of mostly Minni. She watches over Minerva's actions carefully and will b***h to no end until Minni resigns from whatever she is doing to accommodate Blythe.

Obsessed - With her hunter.

Hobbies and Habits

Minerva enjoys studying, tea, cooking, sculpting, antique shopping, reading, coin collecting, practicing for battle.

Minerva does not have time for watching movies, or sports.

Minerva's bad habits are chewing on everything she holds in her hands, fidgeting, cracking her knuckles constantly, expecting her work to compensate for the lack of a real relationship with another human being.

Blythe enjoys being with Minerva. Doing whatever Minerva does. Learning. Making sure Minerva does not get too close to anyone in particular. Being best girlfriends with Minerva. Being involved in a fight with Minerva. Standing up for Minerva. Minerva. Minervaaaaaa.

Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?

Being just another blue-collared human being, working insane hours at a local diner whose costumers were lewd and without morality simply was not enough for Minerva. There was also the onslaught of visions and sensations that have plagued her since childhood, leading Minerva to believe that she was meant to do something far greater than what her normal, earthly life entailed.

Weapon Ability Gorestrome (Gambler's Chance) - If dual-weilding sickles: Minerva closes the distance for a close-ranged attack, using Blythe's sharp 'C' curve to hook and then rip at whatever body part she can. This attack only leaves deep gashes and will not tear a limb off unless it is ICly desired/allowed.

Maggot Magnet (The Mind) - If two-handed sickle: Minerva strikes the ground with Blythe's sharpest end and forms a line in front of her, out which an illusion of maggots surfaces and swarms toward her opponent. The illusion can go as far as crawling up the target's leg and even wiggling into their ears, acting as a distraction. Yaaay illusionary maggots!

Physical Description: Minerva should have long, dirty blond/light brown hair. The style is TOTALLY UP TO THE ARTIST! She is moderately built, physically proportionate considering her height (5'1), with a slight curve to her waist. Medium sized bosom, rear end on the smaller side.

Eye Colour: Hazel
Hair Colour/Style: Dirty blond/light brown
Skin Colour: Olive
Clothing Style/Colours: Total badass, exposing some skin like her arms, stomach, upper-thighs or back (can be any one of those or all)...but mostly covered up with the Hunter coat worn untraditionally(Idk, off the shoulders, around her waist, over one shoulder, HOWEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE!). Scarf worn traditionally. DESIGN/COLORS ARE TOTALLY UP TO YOU! The time period of her outfit can be anything you choose! Minerva is of Italian decent, so I wouldn't complain if some bits are themed according to this fact.
Extra: She is quite graceful when she wants to be, but is almost always seen without a smile. If you want to use that when you're doodling her up, THAT WORKS! But otherwise it is UP TO YOU to add/take things away. I trust ye!

Blythe Un-summoned

Two, coiling golden arm bands with a single green gem on each.

History - Minerva

Part 1:

“And I know I am right.” Rita summed up with a tilt of her head, features twisting into a look of pure irritation. The wrinkles on her face were lost in the dim lighting of the room, but the wear and tear of a hard life refused to hide behind the shadows. If Minnie had looked up at that moment, she would have seen the face of someone else—Her mother’s vitality had long since been stripped from her. “Vee?! Vee-Vee! Are you even listening to me?! Look at me when I speak to you young lady!”

“No.” Minerva replied sharply, face hidden by the lot of curls on her head. “I haven’t been listening to you for the past hour and a half lecture me on how important family is to you and how I need to find a man in order to fill this gaping hole inside of me. That I need to marry soon or else my eggs will rot and I will not give you any grandchildren to gush over on Christmas mornings or for Thanksgiving dinners. No, I haven’t been listening to the strain in your voice as you try to keep from crying, as you try to hide what is really bothering you.”

“Ma.” She paused to breathe, expelling the tension within her to speak in a more calming, respectful tone. She could sense her mothers gaze on her back…amongst other, wandering eyes in the room. It gave her chills. “I know you are in pain. You try not to show it but I know; I can see it. Everyone can. You work so hard just so you can spend all of your money on gifts for the family…you have spoiled me especially for so long. I can’t deny that I expected no less than to be coddled and given what I wanted some years ago. I was a little younger, without a job, without a clue as to how the world really worked--but we aren’t at that point any more. Pops is gone and we are struggling to keep up with the rent, to fill the fridge with food; to survive because of him. Nanna can’t keep supporting us, it just isn’t fair for her to have to. Stop using my life as your distraction from the reality.” Slowly, Minerva turned to face her mother, hazel eyes suddenly streaming with tears as they met with the already flooding blues of Rita Di Paola.

“I see things…I see them all of the time. Darkness has haunt me since childhood.”

“Oh Vee, please.” Rita sputtered to interrupt, wiping her face with both hands before seating herself at her daughter’s side. “Not this again! I should have never let Allegra tell you of such vile things!”

“Momma you’ve never believed me! Allegra was right! I can’t say I blame you though. I wouldn’t have believed it either if it hadn’t been happening to me all along…but it’s true. Everything scares me, every noise and every shadow…I’m always afraid that he will come back to hurt us—to hurt you! And I’m afraid that the monsters will also come to destroy what little we have left of happiness. ” Minerva’s hand slid over to tighten around her mothers. “I can’t bear to see you crumble like this. I miss you, the old you—the truly happy Rita. I don’t want to lose you to the darkness…you are the only thing keeping me sane.”

Her mother had begun to convulse with what tears and sobs came, wrapping her arms around Minerva and holding tight. The two sat for a long time in the same place, rocking each other back and forth until Rita’s eyes could no longer keep open. Together they walked down the yellowed corridor of their apartment and crawled onto one of the two, twin-sized beds; Minnie continuing to cradle her mother for the entire night.

Just when Minerva thought she could drown her fears in slumber just as her mother had, the darkened corners of their room whispered something wicked into the night, and her eyes peeled open for several more hours…

History - Blythe

The zombie life for Blythe was by no means a suitable one. She was created and then left by the wayside, not knowing who or what she was, surviving off of pure instinct rather than the proper guidance a guardian might have offered. The abandonment left her scarred and without purpose, and in the end it would lead to her timely death. Living as a weapon, having been 'reborn' once again, is perhaps the greatest event to have ever happened to her. Minerva has awoken the attributes that were within Blythe all along. All of the good and the ugly--all of it. With Minnie, she feels safe and secure and oh so very certain of herself.

Being without someone for even the short time that Blythe was has encouraged the obsession she now has for Minerva; the ugliest part of her that allows jealousy and possessiveness to grow. It is a fixation that can not be shaken, and one that is fed by Minnie herself.
