 Kaleth looked doubtfully at the land of snow in front of him. Granted it was half-way through autumn and there were places where it was certain cold enough for snow to already be on the ground, but he didn't really think he and his brother would find places like that. "You sure we're going the right way," he asked, giving himself a brisk shake to dislodge some of the lightly falling snow that had started collecting on his back before it could melt into his fur and get him wet. Toreth laughed. "Dunno, but you gotta admit this is a lovely scenic route," he called back over his shoulder at his brother. Toreth was actually enjoying the light snowfall. The forest he'd grown up in had been fairly thick with trees, so even when the leaves had fallen away for the winter to let more light shine through the the ground there were still plenty enough branches to catch and hold the snow. Of course it was beautiful in its own way, but he'd never seen anything like this before.

  "Are you absolutely certain we should be wandering away like this, Aurelia?" Chrism asked. She didn't really know what had gotten into her sister today, but asking that specifically really wasn't polite. Chrism only received a quick nod from the striped vixen in response. She sighed and continued to follow. Simply leaving her sister to explore on her own certainly wouldn't be very polite, either. Aurelia certainly had a reason for dragging Chrism so far out of the way: she wanted to find a gift for their parents. The present she had in mind was a particularly elusive flower that was able to thrive in such harsh, cold environments. Not only that, but she had heard the plant contained medicinal properties, something her father was sure to appreciate. Aurelia was understanding of her sister's doubts, though. "Don't worry about it, Chrism," she said soothingly. "I told Shin and some others where we'd be, just in case." Technically she had only been able to tell Shin and Shiro, as they were the only two she could find before they left.Chrism sighed again, giving up. "Alright, but if something happens--" the vixen trailed off at the sound of other foxes. She spotted the two easily enough and nudged her sister to see. They were both gray, with very similar tail markings. Brothers, clearly. Chrism turned to Aurelia to see if they should approach the two, but it seemed her sister was already on her way to do so. With a final sigh, Chrism followed closely behind her.Aurelia approached the two foxes with a polite smile on her face. "Hello there," she called out once she was near enough. "You two seem new to the area, or at least you're both new to me. My name is Aurelia."

Kaleth, who had been looking over his shoulder at his brother to make a retort, flinched in surprise at the voice calling out. His head whipped around, trying to locate the source. It actually wasn't that hard, since they were close and in plain sight now that he was looking.
If he and his brother stood out, these vixens probably had it worse. Kaleth felt his brother drift closer to stand next to him.
"They actually have some good camoflauge if it snows a lot here," Toreth murmered in his brother's ear, and got a look of surprised in return.
"But all that green and yellow," Kaleth protested, just as quietly.
Toreth shook his head once. "The one approached has a white base. If the sun's out the yellow doesn't hinder too much. The green can either be hidden or used as more camoflauge depending." He nooded towards the green vixen in the background. "She's got it tougher, but with that white on her back how it is she could have bury herself and still hide successfully."
Kaleth looked thoughtful. Normally he was the more observant of the two, but Toreth did most of their hunting and knew a thing or two about hiding his presence. Speaking of which...
"Why didn't you warn me about them," he said, voice rising a little in indignation..
Toreth chuckled. "Practice for you. They didn't seem like much of a threat," he said quietly into Kaleth's ear, then turned to looked at the approaching vixens. They were close enough now that he only had to raise his voice to a normal tone. "Hello to you," he said genially, offering both ladies a smile and nod of his head. "We are quite new to the area, mostly passing through to find our old nesting grounds. I'm Toreth, and this is my brother, Kaleth."
Though still a bit miffed with Toreth, Kaleth politely moved forward and bowed his own head in greeting. "Pleasure to meet both of you." He straightened, green eyes flicking to meet two pairs of identical silver. Their colors alone hinted at blood relation. A quick flicker over their bodies and he noticed that a few of the stripes on Aurelia matched the black markings on the green vixen. Sisters, then?

Aurelia nodded to each brother in turn, her kind smile never leaving her face. "Your old nesting grounds? Perhaps we'd be able to help, then," she offered. "I like to think that we know the area well enough, and if not we certainly know other foxes that would be able to help out a little. We aren't too far from the Kousetsu Tribe, and both of us are members."
Chrism jumped into the conversation at that point, saying, "Please, excuse my sister, Toreth and Kaleth. My name is Chrism, and as she said her name is Aurelia. I honestly don't know how much help we would be in your search, but I would also be willing to help you find your old nesting grounds."
Aurelia frowned slightly at her sister, but it passed quickly and she returned to her original cheery disposition. "You know," she then said, "we're actually searching for something ourselves. I think we'd all have a lot more fun searching together."
It was Chrism's turn to frown now. She still didn't even know what they were out here looking for, but perhaps now she'd at least find out. Turning back to the two foxes she added, "If you two don't mind, that is. If you're both busy, please don't let us bother you at all. I don't want to hinder your progress, in case you are in a hurry to reach those nesting grounds."

The brothers exchanged looks of their own. Kaleth was the first to speak. "Well we know where they are, generally speaking. We travel a lot but we do follow a few common trails. This guy," he said, nudging Toreth with his shoulder, "decided he wanted to try a new route."
Toreth shrugged. "I thought it would be pretty. We needed a couple more sceneic routes." He looked up at Aurelia and Chrism. "Very nice place you have, by the way. Are we actually on Kousetsu lands, or just outside the boundery? We don't really meet a whole lot of tribes-"
"-because it would be rude to trespass on the home of another without permission." Kaleth looked at Toreth and raised an eyebrow. "No matter how interesting or sceneic." He looked back at the sisters. "We're actually from a land of thick forests."
"Yea, near a place where this old tribe used to be. Never became official and it disbanded before too long, but that was before our time. Apparently it was how our parents met, and they just never wandered too far from the area afterwards. I don't think it's near any of the established tribes."
"Wouldn't be. Mom said the old tribe was kinda hostile. She only joined up cause of Dad." Kaleth blinked. "Oh, I'm sorry. We just kinda went off on a ramble there." He blushed a bit in embarassment.
Toreth chuckled. "People sometimes think we're twins or something cause of that. I don't think we quite qualify in looks though. Kaleth and I are just close."
