The whimsical day made him want to sing but if only he had the voice for it. In his mind, he conjoured up the memory of his mother and that sparked made him walk for hours on end.. With no thought or care of mind.. Just warp inside the song until he was getting closer to the rockies and stopped abruptly. Any further and he would have falls off the cliff.. The creme dirt sand under him... then looked below to the crevices of the world below him..
He wondered about the past.. the world. But then pulled them behind him as he gazed in the emptiness..
Auri'chanua sighed and pawed at the dirt a little from where she lay resting beneath a tree. Once again, she'd failed to catch anything to eat today - having started to chase after a rabbit, but then it went down a hole and she'd lost it. She knew that she really needed to be hunting larger animals if she didn't want to starve, but ... the leopardess still wasn't entirely sure of her skills in that area. And getting herself hurt wouldn't help matters at all. With another little sigh, she laid her head upon her paws and tried to convince herself to try hunting again.
It was funny how his mind went so blank.. and he lifted his head- to see across the way. Was he... lost? No- you would be lost if you wanted to go somewhere, but of course.. he had no where to go. So he turned around and headed back with his head almost low in comparison to how whimsical the song made him be just a few moments ago.. Upon trotting about- he was met with a brown figure.. His ears fancied the sound of silence as he approached- until it was disturbed by the calling of waterbuffalo. A hungry leopard was never a good one.. so he opt to hunt but waited to see what the female did before doing so.. Finally eyeing her more than the buffalo in the mist of the tall grass..
Auri heard the buffalo too, and raised her head up just a bit - not having noticed the other leopard yet. She knew that sound ... those things could be hard to hunt alone, though. And she was very much alone .... wait. Movement, over there. The female's head snapped around and she finally spotted the male, eyes widening a little. How did she not notice him before..? He could have attacked her or something. "A-ah ... hello..." she called softly, pushing up to a sitting position.
His paws tensed up for a moment before calming and slowly easing up as he took the next few steps forward.. A tail waving in the wind behind him seemed more lengthy and whispy. "Hello." He announced himself as he came from out of the bushes.. "I see you've heard them too." She was just in the way from him and the buffalo but eating wasn't too much a priority for him. Not at the moment for now. "Hungry?"
Auri thought for a moment about lying to this strange male, pretending that she was fine ... but it had to be pretty obvious by the looks of her that she wasn't very well-fed. "Yes ..." she admitted softly. "I'm ... not really a very good huntress."
He chuckled some, but so lightly that it merely showed a grin come to his face before circling more near her. Til she said she wasn't a great hunter. That's when his ears perked up and he tilted his head. Noting now how unusual she looked.. And then the smell hit him. It was- off.. "How... exactly." He asked wary of the answer. "Long has it been.." Inching yet again closer to get a better look. Looking pretty interested in wanting an answer.
