His ears still seemed to roar as he slowly came to himself. Some wild instinct urged him to his feet before he could open his eyes, before his head could tell him which way was up. He lunged to his paws drunkenly and with too much speed, staggered five steps, and slammed his shoulder into something hard. This awoke all sorts of other aches and pains, causing him to groan aloud. Images and impressions swirled about his head, and he called out indistinctly, sounding rather as if he were mewling for his mother.
Darkness took him again, and the next time he woke, he felt less as if the world were spinning swiftly beneath him. He laid still for a time, very very gently pivoting his ears to catch the sounds around him. They seemed normal enough, but... something was missing. Unconsciously he frowned, eyes still closed, as he tried to pin down what it was he didn't hear that he should. For some reason, it wasn't coming to him, so he cracked his eyes open just slightly, unwilling to let in the sunshine fully just yet.

Oseye was picking her way through the savanna when something peculiar caught her eye. She had originally been seeking a good spot of shade, so she might doze part of the afternoon away. It was hot, and while it was unbearably so like it might have been during the height of summer, it still wasn't exactly comfortable. At first, she had thought she had caught sight of a peculiar boulder in the distance. . . .
But now that she was bridging the distance between herself and the alleged rock, her brown eyes came to the conclusion that something about it wasn't right. Maybe it was the fact that it was darker than any sort of stone she'd witnessed. . . .and covered in fur. Furthermore, if the sudden pale blue mane didn't disprove the fact that her resting rock wasn't a rock at all, there was the knowledge that it was moving. Or at least two little ears were, and the gentle heaving of its chest. . .
"Well, well, well," she mused out loud to no one in particular. "What have we here?" This wasn't where she had expected the day to go. According to the stars, she was supposed to meet a stranger but, that summed up the entirety of her life. She had been born in a band of gypsies, and had struck off on her own due to a desire for adventure and a curiosity about the world around her. She used her talents to woo those she met. . . In a sense, she bartered. Your fortune for some food, a dance and night of entertainment for protection . . . .
She gave some, they gave some. It worked out in the grand scheme of things, but only in the presence of others.
Well, this was a stranger no doubt, and he was . . .sleeping?
Settling down in the nearby grasses, Oseye considered the predicament. The lion had his eyes closed, but his ears were pivoting now and then, proving alertness; furthermore, he was frowning. Most peculiar. His coat was pretty ratty looking on top of everything. . . Really, he looked a mess. As creepy as it was, Oseye decided to hold her tongue -- for now, at any rate. She'd give him a moment to realize he wasn't alone, and to see if he was suffering from a nightmare.

His ears caught the rustle of leaves, the hissing of grass, the faint sound of trickling water somewhere. Other, more subtle noises escaped his identification. His nose kicked in then, as if it had somehow been turned off before. The scent of soaked earth rushed into his brain. Damp vegetation. Something with a tang of salt. He heard a chirp of some unknown bird, the feathery sound of wings. He scented another lion. A herd of some hooved beasts bounded some distance away. Before he could register the presence of the other feline, his awareness of taste followed his nose's awakening, announcing to him that his mouth tasted foul and dry, and that he needed water.
In fact, this realization was so intense, and his mouth felt so sticky, he frowned further and stuck his tongue out between barely opened lips. Blarg, he nearly had to peel it off the roof of his mouth! His ears twitched towards where he remembered hearing water, and he raised his head, eyes still closed.
It was then that his brain began functioning somewhat, and it reminded him that he'd smelled another carnivore nearby. Tongue still sticking out, body still sprawled flat on his belly, head raised awkwardly, his eyes snapped open to find a lioness watching him with interest. With a wordless cry of startled astonishment, he heaved himself to his paws, much like last time, and lunged in a random direction. It likely was the same direction as last time, since he promptly ran into the trunk of a gnarled tree, nearly knocking himself senseless once more. Stunned, he fell back on his haunches and just sat there, seeing stars.

Talencia ((I know we kind of scrapped romance plots between the two, but she can still likely point him in the right direction. :3 Or at least patch him up a bit. Sorry for the delay! )) Oseye nearly jumped with surprise when the lion suddenly heaved himself to his paws and took off in start. Unfortunately, the already disheveled and disoriented lion made a beeline straight in to tree, and she cringed when he collapsed in to yet another heap.
Oh dear. . . . Whatever had happened to the poor sod, she could only guess. "Easy, easy, I'm not gonna' hurt you." She cooed softly, stepping out to draw closer to him, but stopping herself just in case he had another poor reaction. Obviously he was confusion, and she wondered if he might be hurt -- if not from his initial collapse, but now, hitting a tree.
The stars had mentioned an encounter, but she hadn't thought it might as unusual as this. Giving a small flick of her tail, the lioness sat down and wrapped it around her paws. She tried to look as docile as possible, and gave another small chuff. "I won't approach, but just . . . see if he can get to your paws. I'm here purely to help." She added. It wasn't entirely true -- but she DID know some basic remedies and herbal skills. She had some potions she could concoct if necessary. . . .

He swayed dramatically, seeing not just double, but triple. He groaned, wanting to put a paw to his throbbing head, but afraid if he did so, he'd fall down once more. he took a shudder breath, and immediately regretted it. He hacked and coughed, mud and water clearing from his throat. Ugh, he felt horrible.
The voice of the nearby lioness was at least unthreatening, and that was helpful. He gave himself a moment to regain his equilibrium before opening his eyes again. This time they focused properly, and he was able to return the intent gaze of the black and white lioness. He smacked a few times more, trying to loosen his tongue and get some saliva flowing that wasn't muddy and thick. "What happened?" he asked finally, his voice groggy.
