Calder was settled in the largest common room of the monster dorms. The luxury being that the different shapes and sizes of monsters left most of the ceiling high and furniture big enough to fit the biggest students or just many in one chair. (Even if said funiture was a mix of different styles and gaudy colors that would make anyone with a sense of taste wrinkle their nose.) Despite the fact the furniture was either hard or even made of stone or metal, it at least had some cushioning even if some dipped in the center from heavy, big bottoms or were flattened down to a pancake mat.

Calder sat in the center of one of the massive, slightly chewed, and scratched on couches, dusting off a clump of tan hair that smelled faintly of some wild cat and plopped down. He had several baskets with him. One containing many pieces of oddly shaped and mismatched fabrics. Some thread spools and needles, scissors, and another holding some dried blades of grass ready for making baskets. Calder was prepared to sit, recover, and learn. He had sent a message out to Amrita, a ghoul he saw several times around Christof and had yet to really talk to aside from his first year when Calder nearly got murdered by the Igor when the pair of them first met. Their met-up was long overdo and seeing as Calder couldn't do much as he recovered from the field trip, he had plenty of time.

Deciding that he wasn't the only one that was bored while healing, he sent out a message via word of mouth and some random emails that asked if anyone wanted to learn how to sew, kill time, and maybe learn how to make a basket or share in any crafty things, they could come to the monster dorms and hang out safe and snugly. (Yes, he even used the word "snugly.")

Sitting on the large couch, he waited for Amrita, selecting some pieces of fabric from the basket and already eager to sew. He'd been learning but wasn't really past beginner yet. If the undead ghoul came to see him, he'd be easy to spot, being in a worn, comfy white tunic and green kilt, looking thin and tiny a massive, mangled couch that had the sad fortune of being made of fabric the color of rusty red with neon green bats.

Herryk hadn't heard about any sort of sewing meeting. He was not keen on e-mails because they took too long for him to type. He didn't have a skellyphone (yet, that was next on his list). Basically the only way to contact Herryk was through his groanspring or by knocking on his door. Not that it mattered in this instance, really, because Herryk had come to the monster dorms to check on Calder. It was only a sick sort of happenstance that Herryk decided to visit at this particular time.

Herryk passed by the door of the common room, giving a quick glance before continuing down the hall. When he realized he'd just spotted Calder, the draugr backpedaled and slow-jogged into the spacious room.

"Calder!" Herryk was pleased to see the boil. During the end of their trip Herryk hadn't really had a chance to spend time with Calder, Christof and Barth. "Herryk was just looking for Calder." Eyes narrowed as Herryk peered at the sewing supplies. Girly stuff.

"Herryk can come back another time if...." Herryk trailed off, taking a few hesitant steps backwards.

Calder was laying out some pretty colors when he heard his name boomed across the room. It certainly wasn't Amrita, and it didn't take Calder looking up to figure out who it was. He had spent what felt like a lifetime with Herryk during the field trip and he had a very unique voice. Strong, loud, and one that the monster could fully get behind. He liked loud things.

"Herryk!" The kelpie cried, smiling at the sight of the boil. He looked a tad better, but probably still recovering as well. Calder waved, his hands bandaged up from all the mirror pieces he was cut with and there was the faint smell of ointment floating around him from the burns. He was excited to see the undead, especially since he thought he was here to hang out.

Not hearing that he would be leaving, Calder stood up slowly and grabbed the boil's thick wrist in both hands. "You look a lot better. I didn't know you were into crafts! Come. Sit. Sit! We should talk. I didn't get to talk with you before. What with hunters and mirror shadows and all that terrible mess." The kelpie was tugging the boil to sit on the couch beside him, slowly sitting himself but wincing slightly once tush hit couch. Yeah. Still tender.

The best part of having good hearing was that it was really easy to listen in on conversations and pick up idle gossip. A lot of it was meaningless, being new in school, because names meant nothing to him. it was a help to stay abreast of the goings on though. He knew vague snippets of the field trip happenings, as well as having seen many grim faces, but the strix was unaffected by it for various reasons.

This bit of news was the best he'd heard in days and it was happening in the dorm where he lived! He liked clothes but was fairly confident he couldn't sew. He was interested though. Perhaps there would be a skill there that may suit him? Even better there would be other people. Meeting friends was his biggest concern while at school and now that the full student body was back he knew now was the time to make those connections.

The lanky strix peeked awkwardly into the common area but he confidently strode towards the couch when he confirmed he was in the right place. There was a rather muscley looking undead with ... well he didn't know if it was a boil or a ghoul but it seemed pleasant to look at. He didn't interrupt Herryk or Calder as they spoke, he instead glanced over the table with a static grin.

He would never interrupt so he instead was looking for anything that looked like it may interest him.

Herryk beamed at the kelpie. It felt like Herryk had known the boil forever despite having only spent a DAY in the haunted house with Calder and the others. A day. That still perplexed Herryk and so he did not linger on the thoughts.

That smile melted at the mention of crafts. The smile flatlined at the assumption that Herryk was interested in them.

It was just... Calder was so nice and sweet and seemed like he was genuinely happy to see Herryk. Because of that, and because Herryk did not want to upset Calder, Herryk gingerly sat on the edge of the couch.

"Calder looks much better, too." Herryk had only seen glimpses of the kelpie after their return home, and the tinctures and bandages had done wonders for Calder. Clearing his throat, Herryk shifted uncomfortably on the edge of the couch.

"What is... what is all..." Herryk flopped a hand at the scraps of fabric, "this."

Hey. You are that ghoul I saw before. Remember me? I was the guy Christof tried to kill with a shovel a year ago and I busted open his mouth. I saw you in the tent too with him! Anyways, I think we should talk and meet up. I was working on something to do for him that required sewing and hey, you're undead. Thought you might be better at it. So lets meet up, kays?

The Undead ghoul in question had been a little surprised to receive a message from Calder, and further surprised at the content of said message. Of course she knew who he was; side from almost always being around Christof, she would never forget that night when the Hunchback's stitches were cut (and she was pretty sure he was the boil with the make up that one day!)! Considering they shared the Igor as a friend, it shouldn't have been surprising to receive the message, but no matter how she tried to twist it, it still was. She just couldn't help it, it was who she was...plus she wasn't used to getting messages from people who weren't directly close friends.

The comment about seeing her with him in the tent made her stomach bats act up again; what was that about, anyway? Sigh, the mysteries she will likely never understand!

The ghoul had responded, promising she would be there and true to her word when the time came to get ready to go she did. She wasn't the best seamstress in Halloween to begin with, in fact she was barely able to stitch up herself, but she could at least try to help, right? Even though her arm was splinted, she would do her best.

This was for Christof after all, and she owed him everything.

As Amrita entered the Monster Dorms, she brushed her good hand down the front of her fashionably ripped dress in a nervous gesture as well as to smooth out a crease that didn't exist. It was strapless and ended in tatters at her knees, clearly chosen for function and ease of wear as it was a little too big for her but it stayed up where it needed to. Dressing with one arm was hard, or so she was coming to realize.

"Calder, Hi!" She waved to the Kelpie, crossing the familiar monster dorms to stand near the couch, looking as sheepish as ever. Ahh, a very large, black skinned boil was there too! Apparently he knew Calder? And...someone she didn't recognize at all. "Err, um...A-am I interrupting? I can...come back later?" Even though Calder invited her, she couldn't forget her manners!

Sewing....was more or less just the excuse Chuppi would use to go out and meet others. The Monster really needed to be more social, not to mention she wanted to see Calder again pretty badly, so she found herself moving out of her room and towards the central area in an effort to get in before things got crowded and there would be no more room for her. She was small (there would always be room) but that didn't mean her nerves wouldn't send her out and away at the slightest jolt.

She shuffled in slowly, silently, and took a seat nearest to the door in case she wanted to get out. So far there were only three people in there other than Calder - two undeads (one was unknown to the Chupacabra) and someone she didn't know their type, but that didn't mean louder people wouldn't be showing up soon. Taking a deep breath she spoke up and looked over to the kelpie, a weak but sincere smile on her face. "Um...hi Calder. It's been quite a while. Also, hello everyone else."

What a weak greeting.

Calder looked up as another boil entered. One he was in no way familiar with, but he was here and clearly that was interest. "Hiiii!" Calder waved, a little bubbly. He was a lot more energetic despite how tired his medicine made him. Life was on a high note for him despite recent traumatic events and funerals. He was also cooped up indoors for a while which meant he had a reserved built up without an outlet. Thus, he was going to just yammer with friends and make new ones. Like this boil. "Did ya hear about hanging out? Oh, I'm Calder. This is Herryk. He's here for crafting too." In a matter of seconds, Herryk went from being a concerned friend to a undead deeply interested in handicrafts. Oh what a deep hole the boil had dug for himself but just sitting next to the monster and not running for the hills when he had the chance.

Calder gestured around them to the spinx. "Take a seat. Not there. This is for Amrita, but all around is free." He smiled, wanting to be welcoming. The boil was nicely dressed, with golden hair, big wings and a fine suit of sorts. Clearly he knew enough about fashion and Calder made a note to get some advice from him throughout his quilt making process.

He held up his basket of fabric scraps, long since collected from furniture and torn bits he found around the monster dorms, and set it on the table, spilling out a rainbow of colors, patterns, in all shapes and sizes. Some looked torn from curtains. Others looked as if they were bitten off from a chair, spit out, and then washed. Calder had made a nice collection and now he was going to use them. And hey, he had plenty extra for others to use!

And then the tutor arrived, and Calder beamed. "Amrita! Over here." As if she could miss them. He waited for the undead to arrive, smiling at her. "Your dress is pretty." Ghouls liked being complimented. He read that in one of the ghouly magazines he was "borrowing"....after purchasing. When she mentioned she might leave, he frowned. "What? Don't go! Why is everyone wanting to leave? No. Stay here. I got you a spot right here." He patted the spot next to him on the lumpy, oversized couch on the side not occupied by bulky undead.

"This here is Herryk. He's a first year but you should see him fight. You'd swear he had monster in him. He was in my group during the field trip. He's going to be sewing too cause he wants to know. Oh, and then there is ..." Calder looked up to the spinx. "...that guy. He's here too cause ...he is." Calder didnt' know the reason, but he was perky all the same.

"Look-Look at all the pretty fabric scraps I got. I hope it's enough. I got a big mountain of them. See." He pointed to the mound of fabrics dumped out of the basket on the large table.

That was when he spotted Chuppi and waved. "CHUPPI! I haven't see you in forever!" Calder's indoor voice at times was what some would consider an loud outdoor voice. "Come ooovvveeerrr. You're SO far away. I got fabric scraps!" He held up a few, all in rather funky and horrendous colors. "Wanna make something?" Then he remembered.

"Oh, everyone, that's Chuppi. She's amazing. Chuppi, come here and be amazing with us."

"Hello." Muka grinned at the uh.. Calder. He offered a polite bow but mostly because a hand kiss was only for ghouls and a handshake was only for boils and he was concerned, for just a moment, of offending Calder. He politely chose a stool for it's lack of back and perched upon it, tucking his legs up and clutched the edge between his legs with his talons. Like many first years, he seemed slightly unused to wearing a humanoid form all the time. "It's a pleasure.. Herryk, Amrita. Chuppi. I'm Ulmuka.. it's my first week. I most definitely heard the word.. heh.." He giggled for his own reason, perhaps the inadvertent rhyme.

"Oh yes Amrita." He tilted his head, turning it to look at her. "He very much specified that to be your seat!" He was helping keep the ghoul around.. right?
PostPosted: Mon Nov 07, 2011 7:21 pm

"Oh, um, okay, Thank you!" She chirped easily enough though the comment on her dress made her blush in the strange way undeads did. "I like your hair." She returned the compliment with one of her own; she really did like his hair, it was so pretty! "You...brought a lot of fabrics!" It was impressive, really! Then the introductions came, and her eye turned from one scareling to the next.

"Hi, um, everyone. I'm Amrita, and...it's nice to meet you!" Her half-faced attention was on Ulmuka for a moment, pondering the boil's curious habits and passing it off as...well, she wasn't sure what she was passing it off as, but she passed it off. Whatever that meant. "Aah--um, yes, thank you, Ulmuka. Welcome to school! Are you enjoying it?" As the boil pointed out, she moved to awkwardly take the seat on the couch beside Calder. Despite being on a couch she still sat on her knees with the tatters of her dress tucked under her, her feet making a rather comfortable backing due to their whole being backwards thing. Once she was comfortable, she tucked some of her dark hair behind her ear, and set to fidget with the fabric of her arm sling.

Herryk received a stare; he had to be as big, if not bigger, than Petro! Had he met Petro yet? She should ask. Okay, she was going to ask. Ready and...

...Wait! That ghoul looked familiar...Her attention perked when Calder called her name. "...Chuppi?" She said in surprise, her single gray eye wide. "Oh wow! It's been so long!" Flailing a little bit, she pointed at herself with her free hand. "I..I'm Amrita! Remember me? But um, it's okay if you don't, see...new body." She poked at herself, no longer the rotting little nine-year-old child, instead a rather curvy teenager. New Body, but the left side of her face was practically all skull, as it had almost always been.

Chuppi nearly shrank back against herself as so many people started speaking all at once, some addressing her, but somehow or another she found her feet and made her way over towards Calder, the little monster taking a seat at his feet instead of in a chair or something. She was still too little to really climb onto any the furniture despite it being made to fit everyone, and she sighed (happily, no worries) that she could be with her friends and they all remembered her. Even Amrita, the person she'd nearly killed once when the tree fell on her. Of course the undead looked different now, she'd even said so, and Chuppi blinked a bit. "I'm here to spend time with you."

"I think you look pretty now Amrita, not that you didn't look pretty before. It suits you." It must have been nice to be able to grow up - the Chupacabra was likely to remain tiny for the rest of her life. Such was the curse of being a runt in a little, not to mention a monster already known for it's demure size. Jealousy wasn't a good color on her, so she quickly moved on with her greetings. "Ulmuka...it is nice to meet you, yes. And you too Herr-"

Chuppi had stopped mid-sentence as she looked at Herryk, her face bursting into a bright bloom of red and green. Her was huge! Chuppi loved huge things. Not tall people, of course, those were scary - but generally BIG people.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 07, 2011 8:45 pm

Herryk was silent for a long time as more and more students filtered in. He did offer big welcoming smiles to everyone that entered -- Amrita, Ulmuka. The draugr wasn't so great at dealing with huge groups, and he wasn't familiar with these new faces. He was content to sit on the edge of the couch with his hands clasped in his lap.

It wasn't until a little ghoul -- Chuppi, he heard Calder say -- stared at him. He cleared his throat when she blushed, brows lifting with concern.

"Hello, little bug," he mumbled in greeting. Yes, he knew she wasn't a bug, but she was so teeeeny that the name seemed to be a perfect fit. "It is nice to meet Chuppi."

Cady was bored.

She also hadn't been sleeping, which meant her already seemingly boundless free time had become nearly overwhelming. She wouldn't admit it, but the things she tended to see on the back of her eyelids when her head hit the pillow had started to really get to her. Worse still, she'd been avoiding going for walks at the gym. Too many memories, and not just of their former professor - of a certain terrifying fairy ghoul, too.

So instead, she was jogging around the monster dorms!

Cady ducked and weaved past unsuspecting passerby, galavanting down the halls in a sleep-deprived stupor. She was two parts hyper and one part exhausted, and it was almost as confusing as it was overstimulating. Couldn't she just get some sleep? As she trotted past one of the common rooms however, she took a moment to stare. Wasn't that pony boy and mountain man on the field trip? What was all the fabric for? Were they going to make decorative bandanas? Oh my Jack, that sounded fun. Cady wanted one with a flaming skull. Her jaw was still peppered with nasty bruises and her Hello Cooties band-aid just wasn't doing the trick.

Cady trotted up behind another chair, and spied on them from afar.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 07, 2011 11:31 pm

Where could Cady had run off to?

Bea was looking for the manticore in the monster dorms when she noticed all the sewing materials in the common room. There standing a few students, and Calder among them, Bea was unsure if she should even approach them considering what had happened during the field trip. With a few deep breaths, she took a moment to think about what she could be getting herself into. Bea only hoped Calder didn't think sourly of her. Though, the sewing supplies and the group gathering did seem very enticing to the ghoul.

Just when she was going to take a few steps towards the group, she nearly tripped over a scorpion tail which belonged to a particular manticore she had been looking for.

"Woah!" Bea exhaled and turned to look at Cady who was hiding behind a chair. "W-Wha-- I've been looking for you!" she pulled up the ghoul from her shirt like a mother picking up her cub from the scruff of the neck.

Mortimer never slept. Not simply because he was an undead and thus didn't have to, but also because his brain was usually buzzing with some new ideas - literally. In this case, however, he was on a journey to continue orienting himself to where all the dorms were, so that he would stop mistaking one for the undead dorms. Really, he wasn't sure how he did so all the time - the undead ones were at a much cooler temperature for the most part.

Mort knew for sure he was in the wrong place when he saw several rather familiar figures congregated around . . . fabric? Most distinctly, the zombie saw Herryk's wide figure strike a contrast.

What was going on here? o3o He strode over and plopped down on one of the chairs, curiously gazing at, well, everything and everyone.

Beyond Herryk, he did recognize Calder (only now being able to attribute a name to the boil) and the spike-tailed ghoul (What was the name the demoness had said? Katie?), and vaguely remembered the undead ghoul from when he was watching the skellyvision in the popcorn-couch room after he'd died. The pointy-toothed boil and the short one, however, were new to him.

Then up came the ghoul who had hosted the movie night! What was her name again? Aagagagkdjflsdjhfs what was it with him and names?!

So there he sat, very stitched up (even for a zombie), but sitting quite casually: leaning forward in the chair with his elbows resting on his knees. "What this for?" he asked, pointing to the baskets.

A pause.

Then: "Oh! Haaaaai everyone, too."
