If Eric had understood the irony of his situation, he would have even laughed. Eric, thinking he was acting as a paragon for the defense of Destiny City, was spying on senshi, the guardians of destiny city, for a dark mirror senshi, who was attempting to corrupt those guardians.
As it stood, Jett had convinced him of the opposite, and so he was happily laying the groundwork for his own demise.
He was doing so by singing "Octopus’s Garden" in the early evening in a city park.
To the average passerby, there wouldn't be anything sinister about the song "Octopus's Garden". It was a silly love song, and Eric usually came to these parks right after elementary or middle schools got out to entertain the children who frequented them for various afternoon activities. But it was getting very late, and children were being directed indoors and to be by their concerned parents. Still, Eric was out singing.
Remarque had told him that there had been Senshi in this park, and he was waiting until sundown to be sneaky and see if he couldn't catch one in the act of... abducting people. That’s what he’d decided they'd been up to, since he hadn't been able to fully establish before that point what they might actually be doing.
But for now, he was finishing up the song. "We could be so happy me and you! No one there to tell us what to do!"
Invigorated by his sense of duty, the idea that he was protecting destiny city, he wasn’t even a little tired.

Sailor Lenka was out early tonight. Her mother was at a PTA meeting at the nearby school and she had said she was going to play in the park and would be back at the house by dark. Well, it was only almost dark out…not quite there yet, so she continued skipping around, henshined up, looking for any bad guys…or any trouble at all that she could help squish.
To the child’s surprise, she didn’t find any trouble, but instead found someone playing music. She moved closer to the guy sitting there singing and gave a smile, clapping and laughing. “That’s so cool! Where did you learn to play the guitar like that? You’re really good at it! I’m jealous.”
She seemed delighted, and hoped he would play another song so she could dance around. Her mom would understand if she came home late because she was dancing. It was always okay to be late due to dancing.

He smiled at her, finishing the song.
"Actually, I learned to play guitar in another country. Have you ever heard of Scotland?"
He couldn’t tell just by looking at her how old she was, so he didn't know if that question was relevant, but either way he hoped it would at least interest her.
It didn’t even cross Erics mind that the girl might actually be a Senshi. She was a little girl. Little girl's don’t put the world in danger. Little girl's don't abduct people and bring them to space. He'd seen little girls in the surrounding, but they didn't honestly seem to be the masterminds behind anything that was going on.
And finally, little girls dressed up funny all the time. This little girl was dressed up silly, but that didn’t surprise him at all.
"Is there something you’d like to hear? I have a wonderful song about a yellow submarine."
He winked at her.

Lenka laughed nodding. “Of course I’ve heard of Scotland…That’s where the tape comes from, right? That’s what mom says at least.”
This was a strange way to patrol, and the child rocked on her heels looking at the male. “Can you dance to the submarine song? I want a song I can dance too! I like to dance sometimes, when I’m feeling silly!”
Clearly that meant she was feeling very silly tonight and she shook her head in a crazy way, letting her two braids bump against her cheeks. “See! Silly!” She laughed and jumped up and down, waiting for the music to start. This man was funny and suddenly, a thought struck her. “Do you make the tape, Sir? Are you the Scotland man who makes the Scotch tape? Because if you are, you are a part of all of my birthday and Christmas presents, and that’s just cool.”

Eric chuckled. He was amused at the question, and at the innocence of this adorable little girl.
"No, I'm afraid not luv. He's still over there making tape; otherwise you’d have nothing to wrap your Christmas presents in. I’m the Scottish man that sits in Destiny city and plays music for little girls who are feeling silly."
He winked at her.
"Now you claim to be feeling silly, but I think Im going to have to see you shake your head again to be sure. I can't just be singing songs for any little girls who come up to me and SAY their feeling silly, I have to be sure about it before I start playing. So tell me girl, are you feeling really silly? Or just kind of silly?"
He patted his hand on his guitar as if waiting for a response.

He was so funny! Lenka giggled at the response of him not being the Scotch Tape man, but she had figured that out anyway…why would the scotch tape man be in the park with a guitar. He would hae been in the park with a roll of tape if that were really the case.
“I’m really feeling silly, Sir! Play something fun!” She nodded her head up and down as hard as she could. Oh! She hadn’t introduced herself to this man yet! How rude of her!
The chibi senshi stepped forward and held out a hand. “Hi! I forgot to say my name! I’m Sailor Chibi Lenka, and I’m a good guy who’s protecting this park from the bad guys! Though right now, I just want to dance!”
There. That way he’d know he was safe from any bad guy attacks. She was so smart sometimes.

For a moment, Eric looked confused.
"A sailor chibi? I don't think I've ever heard of one of those."
And he hadn't. In all the time that Eric had been in the surrounding, around sailor scouts and knights and chibis, no one had used those words before. The word sailor had been thrown about, but he had yet to identify it as being a word for senshi. NEVER had the word chibi been used in front of him, He had no idea that this meant he was one of the people Remarque and Jett had told him to watch out for.
"Are you a super hero then?"
He started playing a few notes on his guitar, warming up for the song.

She nodded, stretching and dancing a little to the notes he played. He was such a cool guy! He knew she was a super hero! She loved being a super hero!
“Yeah! I am a super hero! I’m the Sailor Senshi of Watermelons! So, I’m even a silly super hero!” She was silly, in all respects of the word, but she was always happy to help people and if she couldn’t be a jedi like she had originally wanted, the past weeks as a senshi had made her enjoy that just as much…if not more. Senshi’s didn’t normally lose limbs due to lightsabers!
“Dancing time!”

THAT caught Eric off guard. and he was quick to start singing before she saw how surprised he was to hear the word 'senshi' come out of her mouth. " In the town... where I was born... there lived a man... who sailed to sea..." As he played, he thought of the implications of what he had just been told. The threat to Destiny city, the people he wasn't supposed to trust, the people Remarque had told him to worry about... This was one of them?! She was like, what, 8!? How could she be wrapped up in that? How could she be a part of a group like the Senshi? He had seen little girls in the surrounding, and he had always just assumed they had been kidnapped too. Was it possible they had all been in on this? How? She was a little girl! He tried not to think too hard, to focus on the song, but he was watching the girl closely for her reaction.

As soon as Eric began singing, Millicent’s face lit up and she began swaying to the music, her head bobbing in time to the understood beat.
When he got to the chorus of the song, she began giggling, seeming to find this very amusing indeed, her dancing becoming much more elaborate, jumping around and twirling. She liked this song! And she thought that Eric was very good at singing it, even though the song was kind of dumb…who would want to live in a Submarine anyway? It would be really, really cramped in there!

Eric finished the song, and then took a moment to relax his fingers.
"Well, what did you think?"
He asked his miniature sized and possibly seriously dangerous critic.
"Was that song silly enough for you? Or should I try to go even sillier? I have a song about an octupus's garden, or about little piggys."
If he had to, he’d break out his secret weapon, flying purple people eaters, but he wanted to stick to the Beatles for as long as he could. He also felt like he should get some information out of this girl, though he felt downright despicable doing it.
"And uh, then after that you could tell me more about being a senshi, perhaps?"
He tried to smile again, but it felt more forced then before.

She finished dancing then laughed, nodding, hair flying all around. “Yes that was very silly! Very silly and I liked it!” When he mentioned piggies, her eyes lit up and she nodded wildly. “You know a song about piggies? I love piggies! I have two pigs at home! Pigs are my favorite animals in the whole entire world!”
Lenka seemed so excited at the idea of a song completely about piggies. She giggled to herself and then blinked. Tell him about being a senshi?
“What is it you want to know? I’m s super hero who saves people from monsters that want to eat them…that’s about it! Oh! And my skirt looks like a watermelon. That too!”

He nodded.
"That sounds like fun! What type of monsters do you fight? Where do they come from?"
He started to warm up for "Little Piggies", it had been a long time since he’d played it. It wasn't honestly a crowd pleaser, it was supposed to be an ironic assessment of the business world, but the way it was worded made it silly enough for little girls to find funny.
He still felt bad about interrogating this little girl, but she WAS a senshi, so she might have useful information for him. He gave a minute to respond, pausing in his warm up but ready to play the song.

She blinked. Where did the youma come from? That was a strange question. She seemed very deep in thought pondering this, then just shrugged. “They were just turned into monsters by the bad guys. I’ll ask someone someday where they come from…”
She heard the beeping of her cell phone begin to go off, then jumped. “Oh no! I gotta go mister. My mommy’s going to be getting out of her meeting really soon so she’ll be looking for me! It was nice meeting you and thank you for letting me dance! I like dancing!”
Lenka giggled. “I hope I can see you again and dance again!”
With that, she ran off into the night, her giggles audible for at least the next few seconds.

Eric watched the little girl go, looking a little confused at her abrupt departure. He sighed and started putting his stuff away.
THAT was a senshi? That girl was so young. He had a hard time wrapping his head around that. This little girl clearly thought that what she was doing was right, but all the information Eric had gotten was to indicate what the senshi had been doing was wrong. Was she wrong, or were Jett and Remarque confused?
This was above his pay grade.
He slipped the guitar over his shoulder and began to walk toward the bus stop. He didn't think it was likely he’d run into another senshi tonight, and he really need to go home and think things over. She was just a 10 year old girl for Pete’s sake!
