Getting into the groove had taken a little more time than Remarque would have liked, and even then his usual late night haunts were pretty static. The park was his primary hunting ground, but he’d grown too accustomed of it—the targets were always the same and there was nothing special about it. Albeit it seemed safe enough—he’d only encountered two senshi, neither of which had given him more trouble than he could handle.
And yet, the safety was somewhat off-putting. It made him feel uncomfortable. He’d been draining energy from the homeless population for long enough that he figured he could try for something harder.
It was late enough at night that anyone outside on their own was clearly asking for trouble—and Remarque was more than happy to deliver. He stuck to the shadows, though didn’t necessarily hide; being too obvious, he’d lose the element of surprise.
There were a few people out that he’d seen, and once already had he drained some energy from a careless passerby. Remarque was very near to finding a second victim, though it he wasn’t in any particular rush; the night was still young, and he had yet to grow tired of stalking his prey.

Energy was something he could handle, he could handle gathering it. It was easy and needed. It was fighting and killing which he wanted to avoid, at all cost. He still was suffering nightmares and the idea of mixing it up in a fight with a senshi was something he felt the need to avoid.
This was why he avoided the park tonight, he knew of at least one senshi who haunted that area and he couldn't face her even though he knew no fight would come of any meeting they may have. He didn't want to deal with her, not tonight and not for a long time if he were quite honest with himself.
No, he had passed the park and headed further into the city. Leaping roof tops as he kept his senses alert, he didn't want to be taken by surprise by a senshi no matter what level they were. What he did pick up though was a signal which was familiar to him by now. The same signal Leto gave off. It wasn't as strong as hers so it wasn't her, must be one of the new senshi they had gained. Smiling the Captain took off in that direction. Best to see how the senshi's night was going, maybe see if they wanted company. He found being out one your own all night, every time you went out, could get a bit lonely.
Leaping off a low building roof he landed with a clicking of heels and a soft 'oof'ing sound as he straightened himself to his...not so spectacular height of five foot three. Ash blond hair and fair features he didn't look all that impressive as he glanced around looking for the senshi he'd picked up on.

For a long while, Remarque had been completely oblivious to the approaching signal, though it was apparent after a few seconds it was getting closer. It wasn’t an uncomfortable sensation, though given the last time he’d felt anything like it had been when they were on the Surrounding, he was naturally suspicious.
It didn’t feel like any of the normal senshi he’d met, so he wasn’t entirely worried that he’d made the mistake of coming in here and was going to get his a** kicked by the same senshi that had pulverized Leto, but anyone obviously stronger than him put him on edge. He had played it off as indifference, until there was a sound from very near to him.
It took all of two steps for him to see the source of the noise; he walked past two stacked crates and peered down the alleyway with mild interest.
The first thing he noticed was the height; his mind flickered back to the chibi senshi he’d encountered the other day, and wondered if there was any correlation to the figure in front of him—until he saw his face. Which was definitely not child like.
The alleyway was a dead end, and Remarque could see the only way in. His eyes drifted to the roof, though he dismissed the idea that people would be doing too much roof hopping, though that still left two questions—how had he gotten there, and what was he doing there?
Certainly not playing dress up all by himself; he looked a little too old for games like that. But the power he was feeling—it was either coming from the male in front of him, or someone else that was very nearby.
Physically compared to the male in front of him, Remarque immediately assumed he had an advantage; Remarque was a good half foot taller than him, easily, and his outfit left no question to his build. Working out kept him in very good physical shape--particularly showing in his bare arms. The apparent masculinity of working out meant that he could beat the s**t out of anyone who decided to insult how long he liked to keep his hair. Blonde hair, blue eyes, good complexion--Remarque was narcissistic about his appearance, he liked to look nice. And also beat the crap out of people. He suspected, given by the long hair of the young man in front of him, insults about his own hair style wasn't going to be an issue.
Judging by his height and youthful looks, Remarque assumed the male had to be younger than him—which gave him the right to call him whatever name he pleased, regardless of affiliation or power. “Hey, kid. What exactly are you doing over there?” he prompted, wanting to know if he should be focusing his attention on this guy or be looking around for someone else.

Blond hair moved quickly, moving across his face and whipping about, as his head turned quickly to the source of the voice. Eyes the color of wet slate focused and locked on the figure. He'd been right, one of the Dark Mirror senshi, if the little symbol was anything to go by and he knew it was.
"I'm hardly a child, as for what I'm doing. I was seeking you, I felt your energy and decided to investigate." His voice was light but with a certain lack of...emotion to it. He simply spoke. Slowly his heeled boots took him toward the other blond, his steps slow and measured, deliberately slow. There was no way someone would walk as slow as he did without it being on purpose.
His coat swayed with his movements and a hand came up to brush his hair from his face. "One of Leto's senshi?" He knew some lived with her and she was training them. He didn't know how many she was working with, was she working with them all? It seemed like something she would do. She was a determined individual in his opinion, someone out to train everyone in the Dark Mirror who was under her in order to make them all better - stronger. She was a leader.
Slate hued eyes glanced over the taller males figure, he was built. But while they were built he knew he could hold his own in a fight if need be, he doubted it would come to such though. They were on the same side after all, bother fighting for chaos, and Benitoite had no intention of fighting with a Dark Mirror senshi. "I assume your out gathering energy. I hope all's gone well thus far." He spoke, a slight hand gesture to go with the casually spoken words. Oh yes, the petite blond was the one Remarque had sensed; he didn't need to look further for the energy source.

Not quite one of Leto’s senshi, Remarque had avoided the question in favor of not having to explain the situation. He had kept his eyes on the male while he was approaching, not quite on edge, but curiously. It was obvious that the male meant no harm, and the fact that he knew of Leto and that she had a group that she was leading implied to Remarque that he wasn’t anything to worry about. If he was on good terms with Leto, Remarque suspected he wasn’t going to have to watch his back around this one.
Sans a single meeting with Requiem and the other members on her team, he hadn’t yet encountered another agent of Chaos since they’d gotten back on Earth. Remarque didn’t entirely know what to expect from the man in front of him, but at the very least knew that an introduction was in order.
“I haven’t had too many problems, so I’d say it’s been going well,” he replied, giving the male another look over now that he could see him better. Figuring it best not to start out on the wrong foot, he held out a hand. “Sailor Remarque,” he introduced. “You out gathering energy, too, or just stalking me?” he prompted, albeit in good humor.

"That's good. I'd like to not see any harm come to those who serve chaos." A soft, light, smile flitted across fair features. The chill of the night was thankfully not too bad with the turtle neck and coat he had on, he felt bad for the senshi in front of him. He had to be cold, or at least he looked like he should be. Benitoite knew if he were in such a uniform he'd be freezing and shaking from the cold, one down side to his size.
Taking the offered hand he ave it a shake. "Captain Benitoite, a pleasure." Eyes shone with sincerity as he let his hand fall to his side. "I am, but I sensed a lone senshi of chaos and thought it best to make sure you were doing well and haven't had any ill encounters. I've told Leto I plan to help her senshi and court in whatever ways I can, though being a Captain I'm limited." A graceful shrug of his shoulders given to punctuate his words.
"I only just started, I've yet to find anyone thus far. I decided to skip the park, I'd like to avoid the eternal senshi I know likes to haunt the area." So he was looking for something which wasn't routine for him. Best to not have a routine and to change things around a lot. He didn't have territory or anything of the sort, though he was sure some did. He didn't want to be able to be pinned down to one area of the city.

That Benitoite seemed to show genuine compassion and concern was a bit of a comfort to Remarque, who had been teetering on what sort of opinions he should draw of the male. Unless this was all some cleverly constructed ruse, he imagined that tonight would be one of good luck; to meet a fellow gent of chaos was a far better turnout that running into a senshi. He had given a strong shake before he dropped his hand to his side as well.
“Eternal senshi?” he prompted; he’d been scouring for easy energy for a while now and had yet to encounter an eternal senshi. Albireo was a super, and once he’d run into the chibi, Lenka, though sans being minor annoyances he’d had no problem. “…I haven’t had bad luck enough to run into an eternal,” he said, a bit grateful; he didn’t exactly want to throw himself in harm’s way if he could avoid it. At least until he got better with this whole thing—or got stronger. “And you’re the first captain I’ve met,” he confessed, not wanting to be so naïve to say that he was the first Negaverser he’d actually met. His understanding of the relationship between the two factions were slim, at best; they were allies against the white moon senshi.

"Yeah, the wings on their butts. As I was told, when I first joined the Negaverse, you see one with wings on their butt and you run. But I know of one who likes the park. Red hair, green and white uniform." He stated. He didn't find her dangerous, she was willing to talk, but she was still eternal and who knows what might set her off and get her to fight, and hurt, someone. "I ran in to her a few days after joining, and I was sick. I'm just glad she is a talker and not the sort to out right attack." For that he would always be glad, his luck had been good that night and the next time they'd met.
"You should, in time, meet more of our side." Nega's and if he hadn't he should meet more of the Dark Mirror's members. Glancing about, though there wasn't much to see given they were in an alleyway, his attention returned to the senshi then. "Care for company this evening?" He didn't like the idea of a new dark mirror senshi, or nega, being out on there own when who knows what or how many white moon senshi were out and about.

Remarque considered this for a moment and then nodded. “I’ll take some company,” he said, deciding that it really couldn’t hurt. Benitoite was not unpleasant to speak with, and Remarque was rather pleased to be having such informative conversation. He was rather appreciating the information; he assumed it to be common knowledge not to pick a fight with someone clearly stronger than him, though he made a mental note to avoid winged butts, anyway, whether they seemed eager to fight or not.
He wished Albireo had been more interested in talking and hadn’t thought it would be a good idea to deafen him and give him a headache that had lasted for a good few hours and cost him a good night’s rest, but better than them having an outright brawl.
Moving out of Benitoite’s way to allow him to walk next to him out of the alleyway, Remarque didn’t bother to keep silent; what was the point of company if you were going to ignore each other? “I’m working on meeting new people, I guess,” he said with a slight shrug; he was cold, but moving seemed like a good way to heat up again. He wasn’t going to rub his arms like instinct told him to; if he couldn’t handle this chill, he’d have stayed inside. “So. How long have you been a part of the Negaverse?” he prompted, glancing down to the male.

Walking past the other, out of the alley, he watched the other move to walk at his side. The captain was glad the senshi wasn't walking ahead of him, where he had to pick up pace to keep even. Shorter legs meant he had a game of keep up with most people, so when he didn't need to work to keep pace he was happy. "Mmmm...I'd say around three, nearing toward, four months. I assume you were brought in at the Surrounding, one of the many Princess Ares brought in." No negative feelings about what had happened, about the lose or their allies getting new members but not the Negaverse. Again he was neutral.
"How many senshi encounters have you had?" He asked, wanting to get a grasp on how much this senshi knew at this point, new or not someone could know a lot depending on run in's with senshi and other things.
Maybe he shouldn't ask but he wanted to know something. Before he could contemplate the cons of asking he blurted it out. "You were one of those who went missing. How did you get up there, what brought you up...and do you know why you were all brought up to space?" The words of that blond senshi had annoyed him, it had seemed like the negaverse was somehow at fault. The senshi pointing out the youma they'd encountered, which he was clueless about, but how the hell did the people get there, the senshi had been with the people the whole time, and maybe before hand, so the negaverse had not had anything to do with it.

Finding no reason to answer the question of how many senshi he had encountered, Remarque was quick to dismiss the question in favor of addressing the questions Benitoite had asked with more vigor. It was slightly unnerving that someone who had been around for much longer than him wouldn’t have those answers either.
”I don’t know,” he answered bluntly. “No one I’ve spoken to has told me anything about it. In the Surrounding, the senshi didn’t seem to have any idea what was going on. When I met Ares,” he shrugged, “She never said how we’d gotten to the Surrounding or what we were doing there. Even now I haven’t heard anything. If someone does know how we got there—and why—it hasn’t been publicly announced, so far as I know.”
Not having the answers annoyed Remarque almost as much as asking questions that seemed too simple. Though it was rhetoric—he could assume that from Benitoite’s response that he didn’t know what had happened, he inquired, “No one told you anything about why it happened?”
It was a curious prospect--that the senshi, nor the negaverse, nor the knights nor his group would know how they had ended up on the Surrounding. Someone, somewhere, had to know. Remarque had been asking Benitoite's questions since they'd wound up in space, and despite weeks of curiosity, it had been easier to push the questions aside and ignore them than cling to them, hoping someone would have the answers. The lack of answers was frustrating, but he'd had to let the questions go a long time ago in order to save himself from any more sleepless nights of mulling over the possibilities.

"I know how she got there. I just...I've not heard how you people got there or why." It was annoying not knowing something, he didn't like not knowing things especially things that important. How had civilians gotten to space and for what purpose.
Shaking his head his gaze turned up to the other. "No, we only knew you were up there and senshi were up there. As far as I knew we didn't know why. We only knew the senshi, the zodiacs, were looking to set up the surrounding...a barrier which would have cut us off from our power and left us civilians again. Completely and utterly civilian." His hands clenched into fists at his sides as he spoke. Emotions breaking through as he spoke. The anger and hate for those particular senshi, for what they'd tried to do, they had no right to take away their powers.
"I can't see how civilians would have been needed for those plans, but I don't have a clue about senshi magic. So perhaps for some reason, one which I'm unaware of, civilians were needed." He didn't like not knowing these things. These questions had been going through his head since the people had gone missing and the meeting with Tanzanite and the others where they'd found out about the Surrounding. He wanted to know if the senshi had done it on purpose; brought the people to space. Were they the reason for what he'd done, for his suffering.

For a long moment, Remarque considered Benitoite’s words; there was obvious emotion, and he didn’t blame him for being upset at the plan the senshi had constructed. It was news to him that the senshi had wanted to strip their opponents of their power. The thought irritated him, that they would be so full of themselves that they could cross such boundaries. Benitoite had been involved in this war for a much longer time than him, so he imagined that the smaller fellow was much more accustomed to the lifestyle he lived outside of his civilian form.
Retracing the time he’d spent in the Surrounding, both after he’d been awakened and before, trying to recall anything of value that the senshi had spoken. “Everyone claimed they didn’t know. The Zodiacs tried to teleport the civilians home, but the Surrounding wouldn’t let them leave. If there was a reason to have kept them there, I still don’t know.”
He’d have said it all seemed like some big waste of time, though he considered the fact that if he hadn’t ended up in the Surrounding, maybe he never would have met Ares—maybe he wouldn’t be Remarque.
Maybe he’d still be living the same, mundane life he’d lived already, and be missing out on this new, empowering role he’d found for himself.
So far as collecting energy for tonight, Remarque was still keeping his eyes open, though it felt a bit more fulfilling to know that he wasn’t the only one that still had unanswered questions; no matter how hard he tried to bury them, this conversation with Benitoite had only served to dig them back out.
“Is that the only major thing that’s gone on recently?” he prompted, not wanting to dwell on a situation where there were still no answers. “Just that whole space fiasco? Or were other strange things going on around here, too?”

It was a simple matter of them thinking they were so good, so high up, that they could determine someone elses life and if they should or should not have powers. They were playing god in his eyes and that simply wasn't right. Not only that but did they think the Negaverse' members would stop fighting them? he knew he'd fight them even if his powers had been stripped, he might have been more scared but he would have fought anyway. Maybe even harder, because they had taken control of his life. It was his free and keeping it which had brought him into the war, the fact the white moon senshi would take peoples freedom from them. The senshi had proven those words true by wanting to take other peoples power from them. In a sense they had given a look at their true nature, and he didn't like it.
"Could they have...been clueless and unable to control what they themselves were working on...." Pondering the idea with a slight tilt to his head. Something he hadn't considered. But did the Surrounding itself bring the civilians...and control some things? Something to mention to Painite and see what she thought. "Thank you, that's something I was unaware of. It is good to know."
"Nothing aside from that, not while I've been around. Though I know while you were up in space General Painite attacked a town hall meeting, with others, dressed as senshi to spread dislike for them. But I wouldn't say that was as big as the events in space. The only othe big thing which ties in to space was finding the pieces of the great youma." Again emotions came through, this time a deep sadness. he had a soft spot, obviously, for the you,a. He didn't like the idea of youma being hurt or killed.
"Before my time I have heard whispers, from various places, of senshi kidnapping some officers and torturing and killing them. Some senshi truly lack in honor. I have only heard bits and pieces...but this is something to remember about our enemy...they will sink to such levels and yet call themselves the good ones." Here he shook his head slowly and laughed. It was amusing how some of them did such things, and others didn't stop or scold them for such actions. And they called themselves good. How pathetic and deluded were they? "I don't know how recent, or rather distant, that event was. But I know it's caused some bad blood between some members of the Dark Mirror and some of our members. So either it's recent or it was that bad...perhaps both. But those on your side who were involved have redeemed themselves by seeing the truth." His anger lied with those who were still fighting for the White Moon and had perpetrated such a crime or who had allowed it to happen without anything happening to the perpetrates after it.

Benitoite was tossing around names that Remarque wasn’t able to properly identify, though he nodded thoughtfully and listened so he didn’t miss anything. He was amused with Painite’s plan and thought that must make for a good story. When Benitoite spoke of the youma, Remarque recalled the great beast that had attacked the Surrounding; there was a slight sense of failure that burned within him from such a loss. He might have been new the war, but he had also been away for a good portion of the battle. His contribution to protecting it from the senshi and knights had been absolute minimal.
“We were told a few things to fill us in,” he informed, though it was weird to hear the differences in how the story was told. When he’d listened, it was nothing more than information told to explain the purpose of the Court he now served, but hearing it from someone from the Negaverse—it just held a new tone. Benitoite may not have been around for the event, but neither was Remarque, and hearing it told again—knowing how deeply it resonated as a memory—made him a little more thoughtful of the situation.
“I see,” he said after a long pause. “Not all of them have come across as so radical. But. I’ve only met a handful,” he admitted. “And none of them seemed particularly threatening.” He’d call it luck; he knew it wasn’t anything more than that. But, torture? A little bit to the extreme. “What about you, what’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?” he prompted; it was just bullshitting now. Not that sharing information was bad and all, but it wasn’t just the temperature that sent a chill down his spine.
He’d never seriously considered there being any serious repercussions from his participation in collecting energy or serving his Court. Remarque had expected a few bruises, a few late nights—but torture was something he hadn’t ever seriously considered. Youth made him cocky, and a lack of bad experiences left him with a sensation of invulnerability, so he couldn’t ever imagine being in such a situation as the officers that had been taken by the Blood Moon Court.
