I was in Japantown, San Francisco, CA and went into this book shop that I like. There's hundreds of manga and magazines and figurines. Anywho, I was going in to buy the second volume of "Bride Story" (good manga, look it up if you can) when I saw "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" Volume 1. Naturally, I snatched it up and have read it about....10 times already. Honestly, it's been ages since I watched the awfully dubbed show, and I've never read the graphic novel. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but I noticed some of the stuff translates into some corny dialogue...but in a charming way! XD
Love the artwork, always have. Any thoughts guys?

I got the first volume of that and Codename Sailor V when they came out in September. I liked both of them, and I'm hoping to be able to get the 2nd volumes when they come out in a week and a half.

I've read some of the old Americanized manga and didn't like it. I just ordered both the new Sailor Moon vol.1 and Sailor V vol.1. I can't wait until I get them!!

PGSE Sailor Earth I've read some of the old Americanized manga and didn't like it. I just ordered both the new Sailor Moon vol.1 and Sailor V vol.1. I can't wait until I get them!! I'm not sure...what's the difference between the new English one and the old one?

Not sure about the old graphic novel, but there were at least two different versions of the comic form. In one they had the americanized names. One didn't.

Oh....well, the one I have has all the Japanese names...which is fun because I grew up watching the show and Usagi was Serena which tied nicely into her becoming Queen Serenity.
But I digress...
Someone mentioned they came out in September? I think that's the one I grabbed. I noticed the Sailor V manga but I told myself I'd go back for it.

Both Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon and Codname Sailor V are excellent mangas. I purchased Volume 1 for both, and plan to collect both series. I love the artwork.
The release for Volume 2 of both is on November 15, 2011. I strongly advise pre-ordering them on Amazon if you have not already.

It is beautiful artwork, been in love with it since I first saw it. I may pre-order but I kinda like to wait to pick it up in person. It's like a treat thing with me...
Well, we'll see where this goes. Nov. 15, huh? That's really close, whoohoo!

Unfortunately, the major book store in my area (Borders) shut down so we are left bookstoreless sad
I make due, however, if I'm in a place close by a bookstore I slip in to see what I missed...
I can't wait to get the Sailor V one. I'll be in Japantown, San Francisco soon I'll pick it up there! 4laugh
Thanks for the input, you guys! ~_^

No prob. I finished the second volumes of each today (read the Sailor Moon in a matter of an hour and a half). It makes me sad there were only two volumes of Sailor V in the re-issue, so I think that's it for that series. Now I'm anxiously awaiting Volume 3's release in January.

Aw, only two volumes? There wasn't any evidence at the end of Vol 2 to suggest a following volume? Ooh, maybe they'll surprise us! XD It's unlikely, but I like to dream.

OKAY! So, as the title suggest, I have finally obtained Volume 2 of "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" and it was AWESOME! I gotta say, tons of stuff happens!
ALSO! I got the first volume of "Codename Sailor V" which was a surprisingly thick manga! I'm glad, though, I liked seeing that story arc since I've only seen the Sailor Moon anime and they didn't really go into Venus' storyline, only when she finally met the other Senshi.
Speaking of her meeting the others...I gotta admit I was confused for a moment when she announced that she was the Princess Serenity. I was all "Wait, what?" Then of course it's revealed that she was a decoy princess. Anywho....Mamo-chan, oh noes!
...freaking Queen Beryl....
