Rolling to see who will go first
1 Sailor Athene 2 Super Sailor Grus
Feel free to rp as usual randomizing betweeen 1 and 3 for each post, or to pre roll the results and go back and fill the posts in after the fact.
Rolling reference for ease * For every post in a battle thread make sure you randomize between 1 and 3. The number you get will determine what happened during that turn. 1 - Uh oh, looks like you missed this time! 2 - Yay a hit! Your opponent should subtract 1 hp in their next post. 3 - Excellent hit! Your opponent should subtract 2 hp in their next post.
* Keep track of your HP on the top of each post you make please! When someone reaches zero the battle is over. (You can post once or twice more if you'd really like the two to wish each other well or what not) If the dice decide to be jerks and the battle just keeps going on and on and on I may step in and ask for you guys to roll dice for some outside event to help out. Hopefully it won't be necessary

This time round he was going to at least try and get a name Athene decided – not like the first round where he'd ended up mentally naming the senshi by her hair colour. Not that his first round 'opponent' had been particularly interested in giving out names – but it would be nice to know who he was actually facing this time around.
That thought top-most in his mind, Athene gave the senshi clad mostly in red a polite smile as he tied his new ornaments on “Hi I'm Sailor Athene”. This time the ornaments ended up one on his left sleeve and the other dangling from his sash. He'd decided against having any attached to his boots this time – the last time he'd done that he'd ended up stepping on it. “Good luck in this round.” He was wishing himself luck too – mostly along the lines that this opponent was less scary than the first Much less scary.
After a pause – he wanted to do the fair thing and wait for her to be ready – Athene attempted to go for the closest ornament.

Grus's second opponent was someone she hadn't yet met, though hi introduced himself as Sailor Athene. She smiled and said "I'm Sailor Grus. Good luck to you as well!" Her ornaments were tied in separate places as well. One was at her hip. The other was tied closely to her back bow. It was going to be more difficult protecting that since it was behind her, but at the same time she knew her back wouldn't be to Athene at all if she could help it.
Which just left making sure she didn't fall on it. But that was a hazard anywhere she put it.
As soon as she was ready, Athene attacked first, going straight for the one at her hip. She twisted, and he hit the opposite hip, which twinged. She continued the spin, noting that he too hung one close to his body, on his sash. When she was facing the right way again, she aimed a punch for that one, hoping that if her punch connected, she wouldn't get shards of glass in her hand. Polaris would not be pleased about that.

Athene felt more relaxed, after Grus introduced herself and with it came a sense of relief. She seemed much more friendly than the first and was already to his mind less scary – definitely much less scary. He was feeling better about this whole thing already! Could he win this match? Athene wouldn't go as far as to make that sort of assumption but he could and would give it his best shot.
Although his attempt to go for the ornament dangling from Grus' hip hadn't gone well. Even though he'd managed to land a hit this time round – already an improvement – Grus' turn had meant that instead of hitting the ornament, he'd grazed the side of her hip without the ornament instead.
Athene wasn't able to move quite fast enough to avoid Grus' counter-attack and her punch was strong enough to shatter the fragile ornament in one hit. Athene smiled ruefully as he shifted backwards a few steps – as much in attempt to momentarily protect the remaining ornament hanging from his left sleeve as to avoid the bits of glass from his first ornament and then he attempted to hit Grus' closest ornament – or at least the most obvious one – and went for the one hanging from her hip again.

HP: 3 Damage Done:
She felt and heard the ornament break, and she inwardly cheered. As Athene backed away to ready another attack, Grus too took a step backwards. One down, one to go.... she saw the second hanging from his sleeve, and tried to think of a way. That was a strange place to attack. She would have to go for the arm, and then fake out to get the sleeve...
Grus didn't have much time to think, as Athene came at her again. This time she wasn't able to avoid his attack, and the ornament on her hip made a tink and broke into a few large pieces. Grus pushed herself slightly forward, keeping one leg firmly planted on the ground before Athene. Maybe if she tripped him, he'd break the ornament on his own.

Athene gave a mental cheer as Grus' ornament broke. Maybe he should have been paying better attention to his surroundings though as he failed to see the other senshi's leg until it was too late.
“Oof!” He brought his hands forward almost instinctively in an attempt to break his fall and mentally winced as the fragile ornament broke in the process – that was the second time he'd managed to break his own ornament.
Finally picking himself off the ground, Athene turned to face Grus and held out his hand, his voice friendly as he said “Good match.”
It was definitely a better match than his first one – at least he'd actually managed to land a couple of hits this time round.

It had worked! Athene went down and she heard the ornament break. She quickly turned, making sure that the senshi didn't cut his hand or anything on the pieces of glass. In her mind, she was cheering. She was actually doing it! She was fighting! Granted, the stakes were low to nothing, and the battles were very tame compared to the ones that she had been in up to this point, but still. She couldn't wait to tell Polaris! And maybe even Chaonis, though he would probably just make fun of her excitement...
Nah she'd still tell him.
Grus managed to keep her face calm and offered Athene a hand and a smile. "That was a fun match!" She said, "You fought very well."
"Just out of curiosity, what is your sphere? I've been trying to guess inside my head ever since I found out I was fighting someone I've never met before, but your senshi name doesn't really give me any clues."

“It was pretty fun” Athene nodded as he shook Grus' hand. This match had been heaps and heaps better than his first match and Grus much nicer than that green-haired senshi had been. In answer to her question about his sphere he replied “Beads, I mean I'm the senshi of beads” before adding. “To be honest I've been pretty curious about your sphere too – that is if you don't mind telling.” If he had to guess, Athene would think it maybe something to do with birds – Grus' outfit made him kind of think of wings, however the dark-haired senshi didn't want to make any assumptions.

"Ah beads! Well, now the name kinda makes sense.." She was thinking back to her limited knowledge of Greek Mythology. Athene was the goddess of weaving right? She couldn't remember properly.
"I'm the senshi of feathers." She said, twirling on the spot. "Though you would think with this outfit I'd be the senshi of birds or something!"
Grus let out a laugh, and then said "Well it was nice to meet you, and battle you. I hope we can meet again sometime!"

Well if he had to guess then he wouldn't have been too far off Athene mused to himself – after all feathers were something to do with birds – a pretty large part.
He returned Grus' laugh with a smile “Meeting again would be nice.” Who knows, maybe they would paths one day while he was out patrolling. “Good luck in your next battle” his voice was sincere.
For now Athene would head to the sidelines where some of the other spectators were – there were still matches going on – maybe he'd be lucky enough to find a relatively good spot from which to watch some of them.
