I personally really liked this movie. I dont see why it didnt do better in theaters, and i wish it had done as good as it deserved to do. Come on people, APPRICIATE THE SMITH! Go out, buy his movies, put his kid through college!

Yes, indeed another good movie! I love the cameo appearance from Lee and Damon. Wonder why no one else in the theater laughed when they showed up...
The Smith's movies do better in the retail market than they do in the theater. There are a lot of closet Smith worshippers out there, either that or they're too busy playing video games in their mother's basement.

Wonder why no one else in the theater laughed when they showed up... alot of people who saw Jersey girl didnt know it was a Smith film. whee i loved it it was hillarious but because it didnt have enough toilet humor they decided not to market it to the Kevin Smith fan base as much its a really good movie whee and if you get your hands on the special features lison to the comentary whee its funny

I think this is definately one of his better films. He really worked hard to make that film different from anything he had ever done and also the same. My respect for him really grew after seeing that.

He has really grown as a filmaker and a storyteller. There were a few camera moves and the like. It was nice to see. And doing Sweeny Todd for a grade school show was awesome.

Jay and Silent Bob don't make Kevin Smith movies.......Kevin Smith makes Kevin Smith movies.

I agree with both of you. Jay and Bob did not make the movies. It was the writing that did.
On the same note, I did not like Jersey Girl. I too saw it more as a "chick flick" and found it to be lacking.

I really enjoyed Jersey Girl. A lot.
Smith showed more skill in it, as a film maker, than he has before, the characters were interesting and funny, and, while perhaps the end and some of the situations are a bit contrived, does that take away from how interesting and funny this film is?
George Carlin, for instance, shows real heart in this movie, and Raquel Castro is really good as Gertie. Moreso, though, Liv Tyler is given a great role, and I loved her character.

This is one of my favorite films. It was still funny, it had a great story, and it pissed off the elitist fanbase who followed the movies for the toilet humor and nothing else.
And I was lucky enough to catch it in a theater....although like 8 people left in the middle of it gonk
I hope Smith decides to do more movies like this in the future, he does a really good job on them. 3nodding
