Saturday's were a good day to be a street performer, people had nothing to do but walk around, looking at the world around them and dumping their pocket change into street performer’s guitar case.
But Saturdays were also a time for relaxing. And Eric felt like he’d accomplished a lot this week (though he had only actually accomplished a little bit.) so he felt justified in taking a day off from performing to just ride the bus.
But he'd been riding since dawn, and hadn't bothered to eat breakfast beforehand. His stomach was vocalizing its discontent at this course of action, and he knew hed have to get food too.
Just one more route, he kept thinking to himself, another stop and then I’ll get off. But every stop brought something new, something interesting. A new person on the bus, or a bird eating on the sidewalk. He kept getting so wrapped up in watching the life happen outside the bus window.
He kept waiting, kept watching, and the minutes ticked by unaccounted for. He preferred it that way.

Candice looked down at one she was dressed in; there definitely had to be something wrong with a girl that spent so much time in school. She still enjoyed her day to day clothes, but having her HITS ID with her and studying at school was just so much less distracting. If she was at home trying to study, Candice would end up picking her rapier to go fencing with friends or making clothes for her dolls. Definitely not good distractions.
"I already spent the morning studying... That should be enough right?" Candice was definitely becoming a work before play student, but it wasn't a bad thing. When she saw the bus she was supposed to get on coming, she quickly ran towards the stop. When she finally got onto the bus, she was breathing just a bit harder than normal. Dusting herself off, she looked around for a seat.
She noticed a red-head man that seemed oddly familiar to her. Candice walked over to the man and held onto the pole on the bus as it started to move. "Do... I know you," she asked the man as politely as she could. "You seem familiar for some reason..."

Eric looked up from the window when he was addressed, and a look of surpise came over his face.
"Oh hi! Yeah! I’m Eric. You know."
He motioned to his tie and to her arm.
"You'd probably remember me better without your shirt on."
He smiled. Ah, memories.
"We were, you know, in..."
He looked around, this bus was rather public and he imagined his shirtless line had drawn some attention.
"We uh, were elsewhere. Whale watching?"
He hoped that might ring a bell. He couldn’t afford to talk too much about the surrounding and the senshi on a bus full of people, but this chance meeting was convenient. It was the perfect opportunity to try to recruit another member for the sky watch. But not here, he needed to talk to her more privately.
"So uh, what are you up to?"

When he first noticed Eric's motions to his tie and arm, she remembered him instantly. It was nice to see him again, even though she was pretty sure he died in space as well. Candice nodded and smiled, but as he mentioned her being shirtless, a red flush grew on her face.
"You know that's only partially true," she told him in a whisper, face still red and eyes still scanning the crowd, wondering if people were staring at them. "I remember though, and it is nice to see you again, Eric."
Candice smiled. It was nice to see that he had survived and came back. She knew that people at HITS were other citizens, but of course, Eric was more than out of school so she wouldn't of seen him there. She was amused by how Eric was so careful not to mention the whale-thing, but was willing to mention her barely-shirt-shirt that day. For some reason, she wanted to tease him about that, but maybe later; she felt that Eric was a bit too self-conscious about what happened to really mention it here.
As the bus came to a stop at a traffic light, she clung to the pole so she wouldn't fall over. "I had been at school studying, but got tired of it... So I decided to head to eat somewhere. I don't know where though..."

He smiled when she blushed, that was kind of cute. When she mentioned eating, he perked up.
"Oh! Well, maybe we can go eat together, you know, to catch up and all that. I haven’t eaten yet anyway, and I was just thinking of doing that too."
He didn’t mention that he only had 2 bucks; he could probably buy a plate of fries or an orange or something.
"If, you know, you weren’t planning on something particular"
Eric became suddenly very aware that he sounded like he was trying to pick her up. That hadn't been his intention, but it left him in a difficult position. Accidently picking her up would not be a horrible thing (in fact it would have been rather pleasant), but he also didn't want to commit to that course of action if it made her uncomfortable. But the words had been said, and if he took them back now it would ruin any chance of that unintended but not unwanted side effect ever occurring. So he just looked at her, trying to hide the absolute terror he felt in his situation.
"I mean. You know. Yeah."
You're a freaking poet Eric.

Candice's eyes lit up at the idea of going to lunch together. It wasn't that she fancied him in any way, nor did she feel like Eric was trying to pick her up, more so the fact that she felt like she owed Eric. Interactions with him were one thing that kept her from flipping out that first time. She knew she tried hard to calm other people down, but it wasn't really the same for her until Eric.
"Oh! I'd be glad to go out to eat! I mean, I do owe you for tying me up..."
When she finally did catch what she had said out loud, she blushed, a brighter red than before. "I-I mean... Tying up my arm... Ugh! I mean helping me out in general!" She tried to cover her face, momentarily forgetting that she was on a moving bus, and one that stopped suddenly at that. With her hands not wrapped around the pole, the next stop the bus made, Candice lost her footing and ended up on her behind.
"Owwieee...." She whined. Of course, she knew it was her fault anyways. Candice stayed down on the floor for a little while longer. "I think I remmeber you saying we were supposed to get drinks somewhere anyways...?"

Eric covered his mouth to stifle a chuckle, both at her embarrassment and at her falling over. He tried his best to hide his amusement as he stood and offered her a hand.
"That’s right, I did say that. And its good luck that I ran into you here or we might have missed out! But we can probably substitute a full lunch for a few drinks, don’t you think?"
He remembered that he HAD been hitting on her at the time, but in his defense she HAD been mostly shirtless at the time. So, there was that. And let’s be honest, he had felt a little like a hero at the time, so why not take a shot?
"Here, take my seat, I have some experience standing, I might be able to handle this."
He teased. He hoped that sounded like teasing. Maybe he should say just kidding... No, be cool, Eric, be cool. If you say just kidding it’ll make you look like an idiot.
He motioned to his seat, gauging her reaction and silently hoping she didn’t get mad.

Candice rubbed her bottom a little bit before speaking and nodding. "Yes that does sound nice... I mean, I already fell over once without alcohol, so I'm pretty sure I don't need that in my system!" She let out a little giggle but was still very much flushed red from embarrassment. "Oh god... I'm such a loser sometimes..."
But when Eric offered her his seat, she shook her head. Candice was already standing and hugging the pole with one arm. "No way... It was just an accident and I was just caught off guard! I can very much handle myself."
She was pouting ever so slightly as well as a little bit more red. She decided to push Eric back onto his seat. "Just think before you speak now... Don't get flustered... It's not that hard!"
"I think the question is, if you could handle me--"
"I really do have to work on this 'think before you speak' thing..." she thought as she grew even more red. It was wondrous how much her delicate complexion was flushed. Candice hoped that Eric didn't get any other thoughts by what she said and shook it off.
"We just need to decide... What to eat now. I remember a curry place near by that is quite delicious. Not my favorite dish, but yummy nonetheless and not that expensive."

Eric fell back gently into his seat, chuckling to himself at what she had said. He thought she was cute.
"That sounds like a great plan luv. I hope they have something not too spicy though, on top of you I think I might just melt"
He winked at her flirtatiously.
"Do you know if the bus stops there? Or should we take a little walk first?"
He glanced out the window as he mentioned the walk. It was a nice day out, or at least it seemed so from in here, and he wouldn’t have minded a short walk outside.
"It might be nice to have a short walk on a beautiful day with a beautiful girl."
He gave her another wink.

From anyone on the bus, they could probably tell that Eric was horrendously flirting with Candice. To Candice however, she didn't really know why she was flustered, she just knew she was. Many people have complimented her before, and she always ended up blushing so she thought gentle flirting was always just her being embarrassed.
Other girls probably couldn't look at the person that was flirting with them, but Candice looked at Eric with her crystal eyes. She was very much still flushed red and it seemed that every second it would just become worse. "Why am I always so embarrassed? Eric called me beautiful and I already heard that so many times..."
Without saying anything to Eric, she nodded. Candice really wanted to get off the bus to get some fresh air. It seemed like maybe it was just the confined space of the bus where she got so... flustered. She couldn't really remember it happening before. When the bus stopped, she hopped off quickly, hoping that Eric would do the same.
Candice looked at the nearby street signs and tried to remember where the curry place was. It took a few minutes, but she eventually pointed in the direction where there was a lot of college students headed. "I think it's that way. It's a college student-hub around here, so we're bound to eventually hit it!"

Eric smiles, watching her twist a little bit. He was an incorrigible rogue when it came to flirting, but he was honestly unused to it having such an effect. Usually girls just took it in stride. Some were a little haughty, and the quickest way to lose his interest was to get haughty.
But Candice seemed so... shy? It was refreshing, it was interesting and new. He tried not to let on though, to focus instead on the conversation.
He didn’t want to seem too much like he was watching her.
Oh crap! Sky Watch! He had forgotten all about that. He should really bring that up, but he REALLY didn't want to bring that up now. He'd get to it later.
"Just lead the way. It is about the journey, after all, so we needn't worry ourselves too much about getting their quickly. I'm enjoying your company anyway"

Candice wasn't sure about Eric, but she was definitely more than excited to get more curry. It was something that she felt was beyond delicious but knew it wasn't the best thing to eat all the time, so she treated it as one of her 'special' meals. Besides her favorite dessert of course. She'd pretty much eat that any time she could find it.
Not really knowing that Eric was a little flustered by her personality, she wrapped one arm around Eric's and pulled him forward. "I'm excited! Let's hurry! I'm still hoping this in the right direction though!"
Her excitement made her completely forget about the multiple incidents on the bus. She wasn't flustered as much as hungry now. Candice half-tugged Eric until they approached the street the shop was on. With the smell of all the spices in the air, she let go of Eric's arm.
She looked up at the curry shop's sign as well as the inside. It seemed like today it wasn't too busy so they'd be able to sit either inside or out. Candice took a deep breath. Looking at Eric again, she smiled. "Doesn't it smell wonderful?"

Eric inhaled deeply through his nose, smelling the air coming out of the restaurant. His stomach rumbled loudly.
"Aye, it smells heavenly."
He looked around the various chairs. It looked like a nice place, he might even pull the emergency five dollar bill out of his shoe and splurge.
Eric wasn’t very good with money, so if he didn’t use the five on food he’d just use it on something else.
He reached forward and opened the door, motioning with his arm she should go inside.
"After you."
He smiled warmly at her.

Candice happily returned the smile and took hold of one of Eric's arms, tugging him into the restaurant. The line was some-what long so she looked up at the menu, wondering what she should try today. Under her breath, she pondered what she might older. "Hm... Spicy or not... Chicken or beef... Maybe pork...?"
She noticed that she was kind of zoning out so snapped back into reality. Looking over at Eric, she smiled again. "What would you like to eat? Food is on me since you gave me your tie!" Looking up again, she wondered. "Whatever happened to that tie anyways..."
"I think I'm going to have... Chicken today! Can't decide if it's a good idea for me to eat it spicy though... I'm not very good at eating spicy foods, but I find it fun!" Her mood was definitely a lot better than before, having put the incidents on the bus at the back of her head. "What would you like?"

Eric nodded, this was fun.
"I think I’ll have the chicken too, hold the spicy though, I think I’ve got more spice then I can handle with you already."
He chuckled and bumped his shoulder, trying not to feel like a bum for taking her money. The knee jerk reaction had almost been 'Absolutely not! That tie was a gift, there’s no need to repay it'. Luckily, before the knee had jerked Eric realized the only thing on the menu he could afford with what he had in his pocket was a small bowl of rice. Not really a meal.
"And thank ye luv, you're too kind."
