Many people wandered the dark summer streets of White horse, Yukon. Though, not many people had the same intentions as this one soldier. He had a much more important thought running through his head than, "getting home", or, "Going to the grocery store". He was here to solve a problem. A very big problem. There had been reports about missing people. The Nazarene military, at first, had thought that they had died in all the fighting. But, now, reports of fried up husks have come in, and one was identified as one of the missing people. So, he was sent in. He was very good at doing his job, Hell Spawn, also known as Quarries. They believed this one to be Vampyric. He sighed heavily as he approached an abandoned building. It was abandoned because of the fact that it was unstable, and collapse at any moment. It was still standing, only because they just hadn't gotten around to destroying it because of the war. He walked into the building and un-sheathed his sword. He flipped it around and held it back handed. His eyes darted from one wall to another, inspecting every table, book, crumb of food, and shadow. He proceeded up the first flight of stairs to the second flair. He turned left and started walking down the hall, but whirled around when he heard a slithering noise. He started walking the opposite way he had come, and opened up the door to a bedroom. There was this sac looking thing that was hanging in the middle of the room. Suddenly it dropped to the ground and unraveled. It then stood up and was a very strange creature. It hissed then jumped at him. He dodge rolled under neath it then span around, slashing his sword. Even though the sword itself missed, the vampire got cut. It whirled around and lunged at him again This time he almost hit the creature with the blunt side of the sword, but it still went flying into the wall. He extended his left hand and a huge, and powerful, torrent of wind hit the monster and beat it through the wall. He raised his sword and brought it down to the ground. Suddenly, there was a crease in the wall. Half the creature slid to the right and onto the floor, the other half slid to the left, and then onto the floor. That's when the building shook a little. The being turned into ash as the building started to collapse. The man blew a hole in the wall with wind and jumped through it, softening his landing with wind. Yup, that was him, Trip.

Near the abandoned building where Trip was, there were a few other buildings. The area itself wasn't as populated as other areas in Nazarene territory for the mere fact that this place was deemed unsafe in most cases. However, there were a few occasional people roaming the streets or hiding in the shadows. That's what this girl here was doing now. Ana was her name. Her long ebony hair trailed down her back, long enough that she had to braid it so it wasn't as much of a problem when running or something, and the braid itself still reached her lower back. Her dark brown eyes hid well in the shadows of a nearby building, her gaze locked on the male that just jumped through the hole in the wall and landed easily on the ground. She could see that his lips were unmoving as he was not speaking out loud, but that wasn't the case on what she was watching for. In fact, her head was filled with the thoughts of others nearby, but she could easily pick out Trip's thoughts from the rest. He had a certain "air" to him, something that gave her hints on which thoughts were his. First she wanted to test something. After all, not having much to do in life but hide and survive, she found ways to interact with others in her own ways, as she would hardly ever come face to face with a person. Glancing down at a few pebbles at her feet, Ana shut her eyes and concentrated. The pebbles levitated into the air, then were shot across the street from the alley she was hiding in to the male standing next to the building that could give away at any moment. The pebbles, however, stopped in mid air a few feet away from him before just dropping to the ground. Suddenly fearful of what she had just done, if this man meant any harm, Ana took off down the alley away from Trip.

Trip sighed and wiped his clothes clean of all the dust and blood from the building and the quarry. He heard the pebbles drop and looked to his left and drew his sword again in less than a second. He switched it to the back handed position and looked around. He looked to the ground and saw the pebbles, and tensed up. Another quarry? I must investigate He thought to himself as he took off running, looking for any sign of earth manipulation. After seeing nothing, he decided to listen to the wind. He closed his eyes and stopped running. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. There, he heard it. Some one running away. She, he could tell it was a she because of the way she was running. A Catholic operative maybe? At that thought he sheathed his sword and compressed air behind him, then un-compressed it and took off flying. He put his glasses on his face and he could instantly see where he was going. He was approaching her quickly. Maybe a little too quick. When he tried to stop, he stepped his feet onto the ground and it started to get torn up. Dirt, rocks, concrete, and pieces of shoe flew everywhere, and his skidded past her and came to a stop maybe, ten yards away. "Stop! I am with the Nazarene militia. Who are you and why are you running away?" He asked her.

Ana stopped on a dime as Trip skidded through the ground passed her, tossing up rocks and dirt. She shut her eyes again and all the debris that came towards her suddenly stopped in the air, then dropped to the ground at ninety degrees like the pebbles had. As the rest of the dust and dirt settled, giving them a clear view of each other, it was clear that Ana was shaking. She was actually mostly nervous rather than truly being frightened of the militia male. To calm herself, she raised her hand just enough so she could let her fingers clasp at the golden sun amulet with a garnet stone in the middle: her only treasure. "M-mili-itia..." she repeated softly. That was the odd feeling she got earlier, something that put Trip out of place among the other citizens. "Y-you-u're... T-trip... an-nd you can control the wind as your power... Yo-ou were given an a-assignm-ment to take care of the Hell Spawn that was in that old building... a Vampyric..." Yeah, she was a bit of a stalker at first glance. To be honest, she was just practicing her own abilities, desperate to make sure they're perfect. During Trip's fight with the Hell Spawn, Ana had spotted him going inside the building and remained in her hiding spot the entire time, listening to his thoughts and watching the fight through his eyes. "M-my name is Ana... I'm a cit-tizen here in Nazarene... As for why I-i was running... I knew that when I realized you weren't like the other citizens... I-i was nervous on what you would do wh-hen you found me... I-i guess it's hard running from someone with the air element though..."

Once she started to talk, Trip took a deep breath. It was hard to breathe when going at that speed. He quickly sheathed his sword and listened to what she was saying, and noticed that she was constantly stuttering. As he listened to her saying what he was assigned to do, he sighed. She was probably telepathic, I mean, how else would she know his assignment AND nickname without every meeting him before. "Yes, I imagine any would would think the same" He said. He took one step closer. He didn't want to frighten her, because, he knew what happens when you scare a telepath. He extended his hand and smiled. " My real name is Ventus Allaratus. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ana" He said, carefully. That is when he noticed that she was still shaking a little. He wished he could help calm her down, but there probably wasn't much else he could do, being as he was the one who frightened her in the first place.

Ana flinched at first when he took a step closer, taking one step back to match it. She watched him extend a hand and actually smile. She wanted to run, fearing that it was all a lie. After all, that wouldn't have been the first time, but she could tell with his thoughts that he didn't mean any harm. He was trying to be careful, and he wanted to help her calm down. That was enough to at least get her to take a few small steps forward to close the distance between them, but she had to pause again. Ana could hear him figure out that she was at least Telepathic. She was confused though and thoughts started to swarm her own mind. Had he not seen the pebble trick that got him to come after her in the first place? Did he see that even though when he skidded through the ground, tearing up dirt, rocks, and concrete, not a single paticale of dust had touched me? What would he do when he put all the pieces together and figured out I'm Psychokinetic? Is he gonna take me to the militia and force me into it? Would he just leave me alone? What if- It was an official mental overload, combined with her own rush of thoughts as well as the thoughts of anyone nearby. Suddenly Ana collapsed to her knees, covering her ears and clutching at her hair that was within reach of her pale fingers. "Shut up!" she cried out in tears. Any debris within a twenty meter radius was blasted out of range from what felt like a pulse of some invisible shockwave. Since they were in an alley, a puff of dust and dirt came flying out of both ends of the alley and the walls next to them shook and cracked.

Trip's smile got bigger as she took a few steps closer. Good, she's starting to calm down. He thought to himself. When she fell onto her knees and grabbed her hair he knew something wrong. Was it some subconscious thought that she had read? Was it the thoughts of those around her? He tried to put this together in his head, then realized it probably wasn't the best thing to be doing now. When she screamed Shut up, and debris went flying everywhere, he came up with two possibilities: One, this was an illusion created by Ana. Or two, she was psychokinetic. Right now, he would assume number two. When the debris got closer to him he threw up his arms in an attempt to protect his face, but his wind power kicked in and created a wall of air to protect him. He looked to his left and saw the buildings crack. This was not good, if too much more damage was done, the buildings would collapse on top of both of them. He slowly started inching forward. "It's okay! I'm not going to hurt you!" He shouted to her over the noise.

Ana was lost in the voices, gritting her teeth so hard her jaw started to hurt, tears still running down her face. That's when she heard Trip shout back to her. "It's okay! I'm not going to hurt you!" Those words somehow pierced the other thoughts in her head, and she did her best to just focus on those exact words. He's not going to hurt me... He's not going to hurt me... He's not going to hurt me... She slowly regained control of her own actions and thoughts, and obviously calmed the other thoughts swimming around in her head. Ana opened her eyes and it felt like time itself had stopped. All the debris that went flying just immediately fell to the ground and laid there in silence, and the cracking buildings seemed to freeze in place. "I-i... lo-ost control... a-again..." she whispered quietly to herself, her voice barely audible, staring at the ground in front of her. "I-if... yo-ou're not going to h-hurt me... the-en what do you want from m-me?...." Ana asked suddenly, her voice still soft but was just loud enough for Trip to hear.

When the resistance from he psychic powers disappeared, he fell forward and landed on his face. Trip sat up and started rubbing his face. He un-sheathed his sword and slid it across the round, too far away for him to reach. He was trying to prove his point about not hurting her. "Because Telepaths and Psycho-kinetics often have very little control over their powers unless taught how to use them, or neural suppressors are used to lower brain function enough to weaken the powers, but not inhibit brain functions. I have noticed," He paused for a second and chuckled to himself. "That you are a Psychokinetic, and I wish to offer you help. The only thing is that you will have to live at the HQ. That is only because we want to see your progress, mainly because we don't have many telepaths, or psychokinetics. It would be the only requirement for helping you control your powers." He said. He hoped she would read his mind, and realize that he was telling the truth. He didn't want her to run because he might have messed up with his words. "You don't have to accept my offer. But, it would benefit us both." He said to her. He really did wish that she would come with him back to HQ.

Of course, Ana couldn't help a small giggle, probably the first in years, when he fell on his face. After wiping the tear stains from her cheeks, she could hear the sword slide across the ground, the strange clanging of metal as it bounced on the broken ground. Ana kept her gaze down on the ground while listening to him, reading his thoughts at the same time to make sure he wasn't lying. At first the thought of going to HQ terrified her, but she also knew that she desperately needed help with controlling her abilities. Plus, she didn't have much else to do. Maybe living at HQ wouldn't be that bad... Besides, Trip seems to be nicer than she thought, for a militia member anyways. "Pr-promise me on-ne thing..." Ana said quietly, looking up from just staring at the ground. "Wi-ill you be at a-all my s-session th-things to h-help me with controlling my powers?..."

((probably the only post I can make for a few hours.))
Trip was still rubbing his face when he heard Ana speak. He nodded vigorously, "I will" He said confidently. He extended his arm towards where his sword was on the ground and used high pressure winds to pull the sword towards him. He caught the flying object with ease and put it away in its sheath. He put both his palms to the ground and shot air out of his palms that picked him up. Once standing, he extended his right hand towards Ana. Meanwhile, he was trying to remember exactly where HQ was. This city was so large ad confusing, he couldn't remember the way. That's when he remembered about his GPS. With his left hand he pulled a small tablet out of his back pocket. He would wait until she was standing up before he would star working on finding the HQ. This is the only reason why he hated this town.

((tis ok. i have chores and such too >< ))
Ana watched him as he stood up using the wind, and even got his blade back using the wind. She actually thought of that when he tossed the blade away. A militia member would always have a sort of trick up his sleeve. In any case, she took Trip's hand and got to her feet, letting go of his hand then to dust herself off from collapsing earlier. Ana watched him pulled out what looked like a small tablet and tilted her head a bit. "What's that?..." she asked softly, her eyes locked on the tablet. Even when she spoke, for once she didn't stutter. Of course, to make sure he wasn't lying, she always kept his thoughts in check.

Trip looked at the tablet than at Ana. "It's a GPS, Global Positioning Device. It's a twenty-eleven edition, that works off of the old satellites that have not been annihilated from orbit. This way, Catholics can't track me from the signal when I go into their territory." He explained to her. He looked at the map and turned around. He sighed. It was taking too long for the satellites to load the image. He tapped it and the image loaded. He smiled happily and turned around again. "Come on, this way." He said to her as he started walking in the direction the GPS told him to.

Ana merely nodded and trotted after Trip, keeping her hands folded in front of her as they walked. "So... Trip?... You said that we'll be at the HQ, right?.... What's it like there?" she asked curiously. She paused in her step before starting to walk again, this time at a distance of about three feet behind him. "They won't do anything to hu-urt me, right?... I don't want those suppressor things you said earlier that helped people like me... I want to just be taught... bu-ut does those teaching methods hurt?..." She was asking quite a few questions, but then again she's going to a place she's never been before. She's trusting Trip that everything would be alright.
