"Introducing the challenger..."

The lights in the arena went dark until the USMC Eagle, Globe and Anchor emblem appeared on the blackened titantron screen before the background appeared to burn away, leaving a field of scarlet red in its place with the words Major Devastation above and below the ensignia in gold, military-style block lettering while Warrior by Disturbed began blasting over the PA system. Once the scarlet background on the screen was revealed, the arena lighting was replaced by mood lighting in a matching shade of red, alternating with gold to the beat of the music.

The Marine emerged from the tunnel with a US flag propped against his left shoulder as the lyrics to the song began, stopping in the middle of the stage to salute the crowd as fountains of red, white and blue sparks began spraying around him before he started down the ramp, zig-zagging from side to side in order to high-five some of the fans.

I am now an instrument of violence
I am a vessel of invincibility
I cannot leave this undecided
Stepping down to battle another day

This determination is a vital part of me

With the endless masses that I will defeat

"Now making his way to the ring, weighing in at 270 lbs., from San Antonio, Texas... Major Devastation!"

As he reached the side of the ring, Major handed Old Glory to the ringside attendant and performed a standing leap onto the apron before stepping between the top and middle ropes to enter the ring itself. Devastation would then begin climbing the turnbuckles and playing to the crowd while he awaited his opponent's entrance and the massive beating that was in store for the new champion. Devastation was still extremely pissed off about how last night's match with E Rock ended, and he was also quite frankly surprised that he hadn't been hit by a flying red ring and started projectile vomiting napalm, considering just how hard he had been raging over the last 24 hours.

So it would seem that the fluke champion was not only a complete and utter MORON, but he was apparently suicidal as well, considering that he was making a legitimately dangerous individual extremely angry in a situation where he could legally inflict some serious damage.

"Don't get used to holding that, Shitbrick," Major growled through clenched teeth as the referee held the title that Devastation never should have lost in the first place high overhead for all to see. "In a few minutes, it'll be back around my waist where it belongs...and you'll be a bloody puddle of goo on the canvas."

Once the bell sounded, the Devil Dog would waste no time in trying to deliver a hard, hooking kick to the back of E Rock's knee.

Does this chump have a freakin' death wish?, thought Major as his head snapped to the side after getting slapped across the face. His eyes narrowed, and the expression on Devastation's face could not be mistaken...Is Major Devastation gonna have to choke a b***h???

Of course, now there were TWO insults that would have to be repaid in spades before the match was through, and the Devil Dog would look to retaliate for the slap with a big right hook to the jaw.

((We'll just have to wait and find out, now won't we... twisted ))

Oh, no. E Rock hadn't "gotten under Major's skin"...Devastation simply found his opponent's very existence to be offensive, and wanted nothing better than to cause him grievous bodily harm (which Major seemed to have quite the knack for as of late) and reclaim the IC title.

After dropping the so-called "millionaire" with a hard fist to the jaw, the Devil Dog intended to resume his original game plan and would try to repeatedly drive the heel of his boot into the side of E Rock's right knee.

Having no intention of letting his target escape, Major slid out of the ring right behind E Rock to continue his assault. Once Devastation was outside and back on his feet, he would quickly try to kick his opponent's right knee out from under him.

Major quickly began backpedaling as he held his eyes after the eye rake.

Unable to see his opponent -or what he was up to- Major had no way to defend himself against a boot to the gut, much less prevent his skull from being introduced to the barely padded concrete floor.
