One minute, Nakura was walking down the halls of the base, calling for his precious little Purrloins that had, as a prank, run off with his switchblade. For all he knew, they could have slid it under Seth's dorm room door or something. The twins hadn't been seen by their trainer since the previous night.

The next minute, however, the grunt was waking up feeling oddly constricted in his movements. He hadn't remembered falling asleep or collapsing onto anything...but as his vision slowly adjusted, he realized exactly where he was.

The informer was lying off to one side of a couch in one of the rec rooms of the base. No one else appeared to be in the room at the moment, so he had no one to ask what had just happened. Positioned awkwardly as he was, though, somewhat in a slouching position, Nakura tried to at least sit up in order to get more comfortable. His body felt sore as if he'd been out and in that awkward position for quite a while. The only problem was he couldn't. Blinking, Izaya glanced down to discover the source of the problem.

Shoelaces. Shoelaces of all lengths, colors, and ages ran lengthwise around what seemed to be the entire perimeter of the couch. There were so many that they created quite a thick rope together and were nothing if not through. Even as he tried to test them with a foot, the grunt found out that they were surprisingly sturdy for just being shoelaces. Whoever had tied them had done their research on knots...not to mention ransacked a bunch of Rockets' shoes.

"Seriously? I thought Halloween and all its tricks and treats were for children..." Izaya grumbled, despite the fact that he himself had been wearing a superhero costume not a few days before. At least his mouth wasn't gagged. "Certainly not Rockets." Who could have been so immature to stoop to that level? He didn't think Xander or any of the other pranksters in the building would have been so...bizarre.

Again testing his bonds, having estimated their strength, Nakura attempted to discover just how much of his body was bound to the couch. His legs seemed to be free, but he was tied up awkwardly low, so his slouching position appeared to be fixed. His arms were untied, but crossed behind his back, trapped between himself and the couch without enough space to free them. All and all, it was a pretty armature job, as if the intent had not been to tie Izaya to the couch, but rather to use him as an inanimate decoration for the couch itself. This just annoyed the informant even more. By this theory, it could have been anyone strapped in his place. He'd just had the sheer rotten luck to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Mariu! Kururi!" Izaya yelled, guessing them to be the perpurtrators. "This isn't funny! Where are you two?!" Can Purrloin tie knots, though? he wondered as he fidgeted, trying to wake his sleeping limbs. He grunted as they prickled, creating an uncomfortable sensation as they began to recirculate blood. If only he'd had his switchblade.

"Hoo hoo hoo!" The mischievous laughter was disembodied, and it failed to repeat itself or reveal its source. Several long minutes later, a small plate of cookies would be pushed into view from around the side of the couch.

Izaya was yelling for two pokemon, and while he was heard, it wasn't by the pokemon that he had intended.

In the hall outside the rec-room came the nearing sound of bare, and very heavy foot falls, Four from the sound of it, punctuating with scraping of what sounded like claws, and clicking of... chitin? Or something along those lines.. either way, it was hard and organic.

The noise only stopped when it reached the doorway as a massive dark form slipped into the room, having to squeeze its large frame through the door.

What entered could easily be described as a monster from someones nightmares, its entire body was a inky blue, with glossy armor and plating plastered grossly to its rubbery scaled skin.
an elongated head swirled around, a soft rumbling rising from its chest as long clawed feet carried it closer to where the human was tied up. Behind it a long segmented tail ending in a knifed point whipped around energetically.

"Feeeral..." The beast rumbled, getting close enough to Izaya to sniff him with wispy, sharp breaths, then curling its lips in a snarl. "Gatrrrr!"
The large jawed pokemon then inclined its head upward at the sounds of the other pekemon in the room, opening its jaw wide in a roar. The two front claws pushing against the armrest of the couch and curling the claws into the fabric by Izaya's head. "GATRRR!"

Callista was enjoying a day of peace and quiet, relatively speaking. (Really, was a day ever quiet at HQ? Truly quiet? Not likely.) Out of more boredom than anything else, she decided to check out the rec-room, Eden trotting along at her heels. If she was lucky, there wouldn't be anyone in there, and she could watch Kanto Idol in peace. That would be nice.

Of course, her desire could not become reality, because as soon as she turned into the hall leading towards the rec room, she caught a glimpse of a dark form squeezing itself inside. Some kind of pokémon, apparently. Well, it looked like Kanto Idol was out, but nevertheless her curiosity was piqued, and she waited until the large creature was inside before following it after it, her Glaceon alert and curious about the stranger they had just witnessed.

Once inside, her gaze was drawn to the immense, creepy-looking... something? What had the labs been doing this time? She didn't stare at the creature for long, however, as her attention was soon redirected to the human that was tied up like some kind of odd, shoelace-bound sacrifice to the beast of nightmares.

Callista blinked - once, twice, three times, then snickered. This was perfect!

"Well, well, this certainly isn't how I expected to run into you again," she said to the other Rocket, keeping a cautious eye on the massive pokémon as she spoke.

At the odd sound of laughter, Nakura tensed, realizing it was not his own pokemon who had answered his call. He attempted to crane his neck around in order to spot the culprit, but this seemed to be in vain. There still didn't appear to be anyone present, but suddenly the man began to suspect his roommate's ghost-type. Bro would not have been above such trickery. He might have been above making such a strange laugh, though.

Some time after, a plate of cookies appeared in the corner of Nakura's vision. What were those for? They couldn't be for him, could they? There was no way he could be expected to reach them from his current position, even if he did feel inclined to consume the mysterious baked goods. As far as the grunt knew, Bro didn't bake cookies, but this predicament reeked of a ghost-type.

It only got worse from there, though. Evidently summoned by the sound of Nakura's earlier call, a large, hulking form covered in some organic armor of some sort entered through the narrow space that was the door frame of the rec room. Crimson eyes widened in astonishment. He'd never seen such a creature before, and could only assume the scientists in that labs had had a little too much fun around Halloween time. The pokemon - if it could be called that - reflected some sort of predatory alien species the man had only seen in movies. It was quite something to see the monster alive and breathing in real life.

As it neared him, he tried to lie very still, realizing it didn't seem to have a human to accompany it. What sort of Rocket would let something like this out and wander around the base on its own?! Clearly it was dangerous! Noticing its tail, Nakura wished more than ever that he'd had his knife with him. Without it and his pokemon, he was completely defenseless.

When the pokemon leaned in to sniff him, the black-haired grunt set his mouth in a thin line. He stared hard at the beast as it growled parts of its species name at him. A Feraligator? Oh, that was just perfect. It seemed to be roaring at the other, invisible being in the room. If someone didn't free him soon, Nakura thought, he might very well have been caught in the crossfire of a battle between the two pokemon.

But wait - there was someone human in the room after all! Finally! Only...it was Callista. And she was snickering at him.

"I can assure you, this wasn't in my foresight either," he answered grumpily. "...I take it these monsters aren't yours?"

"No, I've never seen them before," Callista said, keeping her voice level and quiet. You never could trust something from the labs, especially when there was no trainer around to control it - fortunately, she had Eden and could run if necessary. Izaya, however... well, he was in the perfect position to be lunch if the monstrous creature so chose.

Too bad for him; Callista wasn't looking to help him out any time soon.

"Eon? Glaceon eon eon!" Eden chirped, tilting her head up and up and up, trying to get a good look at the bigger pokémon. She was curious! Who was this? Did it want to eat the tied up human, or to play? Or did it want something else entirely? She wanted to know!

"I suppose the list of who might have done this to you is an extensive one," the pink-haired rocket said, snickering again. She was so glad she'd decided to come in here! "But really, subdued by shoelaces? I thought you had more skill than that."

Was she tempted to help him out at all?

...not really. This was too hilarious.

Izaya seemed to realize that Callista would easily leave him to fend for himself with no skin off her back, because he frowned at her and whispered, "Ne, Callista-chan, you still owe me from that last raid we were on together. I think it's about time you repaid me the favor."

Even if she hadn't bothered to take advantage of the perfect opportunity he'd given her. That hadn't been his problem. "So would you be so kind as to untie me about now...? Before these creepy pokemon work themselves into a fury."

He wished she would shut up her stupid, pink Glaceon, too, but had the sense not to say so. It was going to draw all the more unwanted attention to them, and he highly doubted the ice-type could take on the other two pokemon occupying the room. At least not by herself.

At the continued snickering, Izaya cast her an irritated glare. "Mairu and Kururi stole my switchblade. Otherwise I would have been out of here by now."

The Pokemon's attention was swept backward when the girl spoke, the dark eyes that seemed to blend so smoothly into the coloring of its skull widened as long sharp teeth were bared and one claw flamed onto the ground.

A steady flow of what looked to be water flowed from its maw, followed by a thick growl, making the beast look like it was drooling.

Just as it was looking like it was ready to attack, its tail swinging very close to where Izaya was laying. a voice from the doorway caused the beast to look over... let out a series of rumbles and teeth clicking before hunkering closer to the ground.

"Was wonderin' where the ******** you got off to." The ever calm, deep voice of Jerome said from the doorway, as the gangster, dressed in Grunt uniform stepped in, Glancing over to the pink haired girl with a raised brow, then noticing someone else on the couch.
"... Furs?" He realized pausing. "The ********' man?" He asked, sounding very puzzled.

Eden crouched low to the ground, icy fur spiking up into crystalline needles as the generally-social (and naive) Glaceon recognized the threat that the immense pokémon presented. Well, better late than never, although late could still mean lunch. Thus it was because of this that Callista wasn't laughing at Izaya any more by the time the monstrous thing's trainer finally showed up.

Which was just as well, since it seemed like they knew each other. What this meant to Callista, of course, was that she wouldn't have to be the one who untied the shoelace-bound Rocket - which was fine with her, since she didn't really owe him anything in her mind. She would not take aid from such an annoying person, and she would only give it if the situation truly called for it.

At the moment, she wasn't needed. So instead of answering Izaya's plea - or rather, because the monster pokémon turning to attack her had forced the recollection of anything else from her mind, she simply smiled at Izaya and placed a hand in front of Eden. "Hold, Eden," she said, halting the Glaceon from potentially attacking the... what was it? before looking over at the newcomer to the room.

"I take it this... whatever-it-is... is yours? And before you ask, I'm not the one who tied up your friend here." She rolled her eyes a little, mostly to try and cover the shake to her voice because holy crud that pokémon was scary. "I can't imagine why anyone would do such a thing to him, really." Okay, she probably wasn't making herself any friends here, but she already didn't like Izaya, and if this guy got along with him, then he probably wasn't someone she would like either.

And who needed to like your co-workers anyway? Tolerate to an extent, yes. Like? Pfft. It wasn't something she ever intended to do if she could help it

Nakura shut his eyes as the monster's tail swept by him, whipping his hair every which way. He only opened them again when the familiar voice of his roommate reached his ears.

The man struggled to sit up in order to get a view of the doorway - only to remember that he could not. He fell back onto the cushions, feeling exasperated. At least the thing's 'drool' wasn't landing on him. He wouldn't have been able to avoid it.

"Jerry-kun~" the grunt sang, smiling coldly, "Letting Bro loose in the base is one thing. Allowing whatever variant of mutant species this Feraligator belongs to is entirely another." His smile vanished and he narrowed his gaze towards where he imagined Jerome was standing, seeing as his vision was limited.

"'The ********> is exactly right. What 'the ********> is wrong with you?" He made no comment on his personal situation involving the shoelaces and the couch. It was demeaning enough just to be seen like that without explaining how he'd gotten into such a predicament. He just wanted out, and if Jerome was any sort of teammate to Nakura, he would free him first and ask questions later.

"Cute, very cute," Nakura answered Callista's sarcasm. "I don't know what you're so bitter about. I've hardly done anything to you. We only just met on the last raid. What is your problem with me?"

He glanced at the dark, armor-plated pokemon once more. "Maybe it came in for the cookies."

"Well, it is now I guess." Jerome answered, glancing over to the girl with the pink hair when she asked her question.
Another girl with Pink hair... there seemed to be a few of these running around, and his first experience had been quite annoying.
This wasn't the same girl though, didn't have as long of hair as the one in the hospital did.
"Got my number drawn or some s**t to get assigned some new pokemon. They think I only 'got Bro, should probably let them know bout Boss and Turret or somethin'. but, ended up walkin' out with this one. the lab coats practically shoved it at me."

Said Pokemon remained hunkered again the ground, its hulking frame unmoving, save for its sides rising and falling slowly as it breathed. It made a soft hissing noise from its chest, turning its head slightly, not taking its eyes off of Jerome.

He shrugged a shoulder slightly when she declined involvement in tying Izaya up. Even if she did, he didn't think he would really care.
Bu by then, Izaya was speaking, and with good reason, after sounding his usual probably fake pleasant tone, he went off on the new pokemon in the room.

It was around this time, after the mention of the ghost type, the Gangar that seemed to always be around the heavily tattooed man appeared, sitting on the back of the couch with his arms crossed, and giving the informant a pointed look before his wide shiny teeth cracked into a thin grin.

"My bad." Jerome admitted, walking over to the side side of the couch, standing over Izaya and looking over the bindings he was in.
"Man, what did you get yourself into this time?"
He asked, reaching down to tug at some of the show laces to see about getting them undone.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 05, 2012 4:34 pm

"The labs probably thought this thing and your monster appearances complimented each other just fine," Izaya commented dryly as Jerome took the time to explain to Callista how he had obtained the mutant water-type. Normally he was interested in such things, but at the moment he was slightly too inconvenienced to care.

One thing the grunt couldn't help but take notice of, however, was that this creature actually seemed to take a liking to Jerome. It seemed submissive to him, at the very least, which was more than Izaya's pokemon were to him. With luck, perhaps the ex-gangster could persuade the thing not to eat him.

"Hello, Bro," the informant greeted tiredly as the ghost magically appeared. "'Speak of the devil, and he will come', eh? I wonder...there seems to be another ghost around here somewhere. One that bakes cookies." His eyes glanced to the plate that had been pushed toward him on the floor. "Think you can seek it out? I need to repay it for this lovely mess it's gotten me into."

With a sigh, Izaya turned to look up at Jerome. There was no help for it. He had to explain. "I was hunting down the twins this morning, looking for my switchblade, which I'm pretty sure they carried off sometime in the middle of the night. Next thing I know, something ambushes me, puts me to sleep, and I wake up here, strapped to the couch with all these shoelaces. And a cookie plate pushed in my direction. As if I could reach it." He rolled his eyes. "Heard some laughter earlier, too. Whatever it is, my guess is some ghost-type that's a few cards short of a full deck."

He wriggled impatiently as Jerome picked at a few of the laces. "Don't you have a knife on you or something? That will take forever!"

Hm. Callista debated with herself for a moment, but finally decided that Kanto Idol simply wasn't worth all of this trouble. Izaya set her teeth on edge with his mere presence, and the enormous, mutant... was it really a Feraligatr? She wasn't entirely sure, even now. Wasn't there a limit to how much a pokémon could be mutated before it became an entirely different species?

Well, whatever. She had better things to do with her time than to stick around here when it was only going to raise her temper up to its uncontrollable levels. "Well, it was lovely seeing you all, but I believe I have some things to take care of," she said resisting the urge to rub at the bridge of her nose to deal with her suddenly-burgeoning migraine. "Take care," Callista added, then managed to cast a tiny smirk at Izaya. "Perhaps you'll have better luck avoiding ropes in the future?"

She had to get out of here before her blood-pressure skyrocketed. This was just... not the day to maintain civil behavior, it seemed. And even as annoyed as she was, it was still rather hard not to burst into girlish giggles as she started to exit the room.
