Town: Goldenrod City
Region: Johto

The town was buzzing, and bustling. It always was on the weekends. The street's were filled with human's, Pokemon, and Gijinka alike. There were vendor's out lined along the sides for small shows for some pocket change, as well as those who were hoping to advertise and promote new products. There were lots of signs and posters showing clearances and special's going on at stores, many packed with pleased customers. It wasn't an inviting scene for a few individuals though. Those such as Felek. The Piplup walked gracefully, and smoothly through the thick crowd, cloak shrouding him keeping his figure and body safe from the nipping wind that would dive down below the towering buildings. It would scrap along his cheeks from time to time, but that was tolerable, and only caused a faint flush from the constant cold brushing. It was a frustrating thing, really. No longer did he have his usual plumage and blubber to keep him warm in such climates... it was demeaning, in his eyes, being given such a weak body to the elements. But it was better than fighting every day just to live to the next... On a day like today, having no work, the effeminate man took this time to invest in some winter wear. If he were to live in this body, he'd need to prepare it for the coming cold. As much as he loved the season that was quickly approaching, this new body did not... at all. Those deep blue eyes scanned shop's, their clear windows, and their names. There were a few looks he'd get from passerby's, admiring his beauty, but it was easily ignored... especially the few bolder approaches. They were quickly lost as he went further into the crowd, or produced a very stealthy patch of ice to appear on the ground behind him. He'd learned that the best quality usually lasted the longest... but also cost the most.. Luckily his work provided just enough for him to sustain a comfortable life..

There were a lot of people in the store, bustling about and paying no mind of the large Rhydon gijinka trying to pick out a coat that was both large enough for him and warm enough for him. Sascha disliked the cold greatly and with winter coming ever closer he had come to the conclusion that it was time for him to find a coat to wear. He had tried on several different kinds, finding them all insufficient in some way before finally trying on a large coat filled up with down feathers. He smiled at his reflection in the mirror and informed the clerk that he would take the coat. The clerk smiled, somewhat relieved the didn't have to deal with the hulk of a gijinka any longer--and whatever property he might have accidentally destroyed in the process. He paid for the coat (more expensive that he had hoped, but it was fine) and glanced at the clock above the cash register. He was late. Sascha cursed and burst out of the store, cracking the glass door as he went. Sascha ran into the street and promptly bowled over a blue-haired gijinka.

"I am so sorry!" Sascha said quickly, trying not to pull the gijinka up so quickly so he hurt him even more than he might have already done. He started to feel even worse as he noticed that the gijinka was quite smaller than he was and pretty. "Are you hurt? I'm late and I didn't look where I was going!"

Those wandering blue eyes lifted to a particular store, that he'd heard good things of. His employee's had spoke of it's top notch quality products, and also... it's high prices. That was no issue. He was good at rationing and had quite a bit of money saved up. With his mind decided, Felek started heading for the door of the grand store.

But as he did, he could see a figure though the glass doors... and other's repelling from it, like a drop of water on wax. Was that a person...? Of course it was...He was distracted however from someone along the street's bumping into him. Right into the line of the Rhyhorn's path. Shooting a glance to the passerby who mumbled something incoherent, the Piplup could respond properly to what was charging right towards him. A gasp caught in his throat as he was barreled over, landing hard onto his behind, wincing as he'd made contact just above his tail. A shudder raced through him as the pain made itself known, slowly and carefully trying to shift so as to stand in the least uncomfortable way... but that was negated as he was pulled suddenly to his feet, eyes flipping open fast only to find that in the force of the hoist, his forehead conked against the man's broad chest... making him wince again. He bent his head down, a hand lifting swiftly to place to the now throbbing forehead, other hand desperately trying to grab onto something to stabilize himself; which so happened to be Sascha's arm. He was dizzy from the fall, as well as the uprighting, his head and tailbone killed... and he couldn't even look up to see who'd been the offending person in all of this! His features were all calm aside from the slight tightening done to his face as his fingers along his head began to coat in ice, aiding in soothing what would now probably bruise. His behind would have to wait for a more appropriate time.

Sascha quickly realized that he towered over the other man in both height and weight. It must have felt like a truck had belted into him. He noticed with some relief the gijinka--some sort of ice type--wasn't severely hurt. Sascha was never good at knowing other Pokemon types due to his relatively sheltered upbringing in the lava fields. He hoped that his fellow gijinka wouldn't hold his clumsiness against him too badly. The gijinka looked like he was in pain or rather, holding back his pain, judging from how he stabilized himself with Sascha's arm. Rather than running off like he had initially planned, Sascha stood still to allow the blue-haired gijinka some time to recover. He patted the gijinka on the shoulder gently.

"Err, I'm really sorry..." Sascha said again apologetically. The gijinka hadn't said anything in return yet, something that worried him. He stooped down a little to get a better look at the blue-haired gijinka's face and to his delight found him to be quite handsome and composed. He eyed the clock on the street pole nervously--he was late but he also didn't want to go anywhere without making sure that the gijinka was alright.

He was slowly recovering from being so shaken up, mind finally starting to settle itself from the impact. The large gijinka's voice was slightly muffled, however, as Felek was trying to gather his own thoughts, and access the situation properly. The first thing to notice was where his hand was placed... In a reflexive reaction, the hand had frozen as well, making it attached to the thick support. Quickly, he rid the ice from it's post, hand lifting as well. Second to come was the touch to his shoulder, which in turn made his eyes snap over to spy it, and head lift... only to meet the gaze of what had been the cause of all this confusion. It took a great deal of effort on his part to refrain a blush of embarrassment, maintaining his flat faced expression, deep eyes doing their best not to glare in return. But he calmed internally, like melting ice, eyes closing as he rubbed his forehead gently with the lightly coated icy fingers. His lips twitched to mumble something, before he cleared his throat softly, to produce a proper response, "It's fine." he stated smoothly.

He brushed at his blue bangs gently, feeling the bump starting to rise right along the center of his head. Great... Sighing silently as the bangs fell back in place to cover the welt, he straightened himself out, smoothing his clothes and fluffing out his cloak to assume his usual prideful stance. It wasn't appropriate to show weakness..

Sascha could barely hear the gijinka utter some words of reassuring measure. He was awfully quiet--maybe he really was angry. The gijinka looked up at him and Sascha noted his lovely blue eyes. He thought that he detected a faint hint of flush in the gijinka's cheeks but he wasn't quite sure. Sascha glanced at the clock again nervously. He really had to go before it was too late. He looked at the gijinka and back at the clock.

"Listen, err, I have to go to work..." Sascha said nervously. "If you want you can come to the bar that I work at--I can get you a drink. Or if you want you can come by my place later and I can make it up to you." Sascha froze at the last part that he said--he hadn't meant for it to sound like that in the end. He looked at the gijinka nervously, hoping that he wouldn't take what he said the wrong way.

Felek's gaze was deterred, as if interested in something else where, other than the man before him. After such an embarrassing incident, he didn't want to show much hostility towards the ordeal. The man was ungraceful, like most large, hardy types. It'd happened to the Piplup as a Pokemon numerous times; getting sat on, tripped over, kicked by 'accident', bumped... but in such a fragile human-like body, the damage was much more significant. He didn't have that blubber or protection like he usually did to endure such blows. A warm bath would be needed for certain...

However... his attention was drawn back to the Rhydon, slightly surprised by the offer. But his face wouldn't tell such things. It remained flat, and distant, but intent on the red eyes of his company. A bar? He'd only been to one of those... He didn't hold much opinion on them. But they did hold very cold drinks... like the coffee shops; which seemed like an oxymoron to him. Regardless, Felek once again let his gaze drift off, as if to seem disinterested, "There is no need for such things. It wouldn't be appropriate of me to keep you from your duty." after all, he himself would be quite irritated if someone were keeping him from his source of income. And there was certainly no reason for him to go to this unknown man's house! That was completely out of the question! .... though. A drink would be nice. One of those... sweet cocktails he'd sampled before. Or... the drinks filled to the brim with ice, and the smallest amount of liquid in them. Those intrigued him greatly. Fingers gripping to his cloak to conceal his body entirely, he paused before continuing on, "Though... A drink does sound refreshing. After such an ordeal..." he was in no state to go shopping anymore. His rump hurt, and his head did too... "I shall pay for it myself, as I do not need your assistance." he stated clearly. There was no way he'd allow someone to 'take care of him' in any sort of capacity.

Sascha smiled pleasantly at the gijinka when he realized that he didn't seem to be very angry. Sascha straightened his coat a little and indicated which way they had to go--back in the direction that the gijinka had come. The bar wasn't too far from where they were but they still had a ways to go. Sascha knew he was going to be late. He just wasn't sure if he really wanted to rush as he would be late--after all, if he was a little late it wouldn't be a big deal, right? He would still try to pay for his drink of course but... well, Sascha decided that he would see what would happen.

"The bar is this way," Sascha said, gesturing in the direction the gijinka had come from previously. "C'mon, we can go together." Sascha paused, realizing that he hadn't introduced himself.

"My name is Sascha," he said, turning to face his companion. "What's yours?"

It was rare that the Piplup would ever accept such an offer... he'd have to keep his guard up even higher. Keep his wits about him. This was just a one time thing, to wetten his whistle since shopping was out of the question. Thankful for his long bangs to cover the embarrassing head bump, he took a deep breath to release any pent up frustration from the matter.

His eyes returned to the Rydon when the motion was given to where the bar was located. Felek knew a few, so perhaps he'd know this one? It was required of him to make appearances from time to time to meet with possible future clients wanting him to model their clothing. Not that he enjoyed networking, but... the income made him a little less sour about it. Nodding in understanding to Sascha, he awaited to follow, taking to his side, but keeping the space between them considerable. At least the fellow wasn't the arrogant type... so far. The generosity was appreciated somewhere deep, and locked away in the bird's heart. With his eyes trained ahead of them, stride confident, and fluid, there was a semi amount of surprise when a name was given to him. Hesitation was soon to follow.. for the briefest of moments, "Felek.." he replied shortly. His lips pressed together a touch more than usual. He wasn't used to giving his name to those who he wouldn't ever be seeing again. And it was unlikely the man even knew of his line of work... Hopefully.

"Nice to meet you Felek!" Sascha replied with gusto. "The bar isn't too far, but I'm kinda late so..." He started to walk quickly, taking long strides. He wasn't in a full run, but he was definitely picking up the pace. He wanted to ask the piplup some more questions about himself but this really wasn't the time for that.

He lead Felek to a small bar on the corner of a road a few blocks down. It didn't seem to be in too bad of shape but it was rather dimly lit. Hanging over the street was a sign labelled "The Fat Lopunny". Sascha smiled and stepped inside. The rush hadn't come in yet so the bar was relatively quiet with a few patrons. It was primarily a bar for gijinka, though it was not uncommon for humans to come in as well.

"Here we are," Sascha said cheerily to Felek. "I'm the bouncer here."

He was a bit uncertain how to feel of this fellow's lively attitude. It was.. a bit unnerving, but at least he wasn't being unpleasant... deciding that this would do for now, Felek gave no reply to the returned words. Nice to meet him? he didn't even know the Piplup! Letting such a thing toil him was a waste of time though. And so, he followed the larger man silently, making note of the landmarks that were littered about, so as to remember this place's location. It wasn't too far from his apartment, either...

Looking upon the sign, it became clear to him just where this was... he'd overheard others at work talking about it... perhaps one had even invited him, but he'd turned down any occasion; which wasn't very often, due to his icy front. Showing no real emotion or reaction to the place, he simply walked through the door and peered about casually. He was thankful for the lack of customers, however.. Tiny hidden tail flicking inquisitively, the smallest sign of reaction to the place, his eyes lingered on the various area's for a prolonged time. It was clean... and calm. Walking in further, he simply stood there... sort of.. unsure of what to do.. So he headed to the bar, as had been the plan, to have a drink.

Sascha quickly made his way over to the bar and made sure that he was clocked in before relaxing. He wasn't that late. It was okay if he was five or ten minutes late--he wouldn't have to really start his bouncer duties until a bit later, he just always came in a little early in case the rush came earlier than expected. The bar was quiet but it wouldn't be for much longer. It was clean, but that might change later. The lights were dim but over the bar they were brighter to help the bartenders see what they were doing. The juke box was in the corner against the wall, currently silent but flashing colors occasionally.

Felek was headed for the bar so Sascha leaned over to the bartender and told him to put whatever Felek ordered on his tab. He hoped that Felek would appreciate it, even though he had a feeling he wouldn't.

Felek seemed to be the stubborn type.

Arriving at the bar, Felek just barely glanced at the bar tender with his straight-faced expression, before looking onto the menu behind and above his head. There were quite a few drinks... most he'd never heard of... but a fruity drink sounded pleasant. Or perhaps a dry one... not wanting to take too long on deciding, he requested a simple martini for now, hands shifting under his cloak to reach for a wallet in his pocket. Lifting it out, and pulling out the appropriate change, the bartender in the midst of concocting the drink, he gave a grin and shake of his head to the Piplup, 'It's on the house, guy.'
Felek simply stared at him a moment, retaining the irritance that nipped inside him. Ignoring the man's words, he placed the money down on the counter, and took his drink once it was finished. So that's what the whispering had been about... He refused to have to owe this Sascha fellow in any way; regardless of how 'nice' he appeared to be. Whether they took the money or left it was up to them. His debt was paid.

Taking the glass, he sipped at it lightly, letting his tongue touch his pallet a few times to really get a good taste for the drink. It wasn't too bad.. He decided to take a seat a little ways down the bar, away from the bartender, and the chance of being spoken to, or confronted about the placed money. He sat neatly, with excellent posture, a single hand holding the delicate glass in a very sophisticated manner. It would tip from time to time as he drank sips from it, savoring it since it could be his last for awhile.

Sascha watched Felek curiously with some disappointment. He couldn't understand why he simply wouldn't let him buy him a drink. It was just one drink, wasn't it? Surely it wasn't that big of an affront. He looked at the money he had left on the bar and sighed, shrugging at the bartender. Sascha looked away for a while to attend to some customers at the door and when he looked back he saw that Felek had moved a ways down the bar, away from him, the bartender and most of the patrons.

He was sitting incredibly straight. So straight that Sascha wondered if maybe Felek was extremely cultured. Sascha frowned to himself and grumbled. Maybe he was too 'country' to associate with him. That wasn't his fault. He was proud of his roots. Then again, Felek HAD come with him. If he really didn't want to come he would have refused to come outright, wouldn't he?

Sascha settled by the bar for a while, letting the piplup drink in peace. He didn't seem to want to be bothered. Still, he felt that Felek was likely lonely under his cold exterior, much like Sascha. He resolved to try to talk to him again before he left for the night. Sascha went back to his work, keeping his eye on the blue-haired gijinka whenever he had the chance.

He had a feeling that he would try to escape while he wasn't looking.

As Sascha's shift went on, more and more customers started filling in. The music started to increase in volume, and the bartender was walking up and down his bar almost ceaselessly. Felek was still slowly nursing on his first martini, growing a bit finicky as more people started coming in.There were groups who were loud and obnoxious, all piling by the bar to order their first rounds, and there were those who would take a seat right beside the Piplup. He ignored them, of course, but a few would stare, glance, or even try conversation with him. How revolting... Plenty of them tried some passes on the elegant Gijinka. Controlling his boiling annoyance, he calmly declined them... eventually moving when they became persistent.

This place was becoming more and more club like by the second... and there was hardly anywhere for the Piplup to go for some... well, the closest thing to solitude as possible. He found a corner that was dark, and where not many were, just a single group of females chatting with one another in a very annoying tone. He held his martini glass firmly, eyes watching the liquid ripple from the sound waves booming in the room. How could people enjoy this..? It was so loud... and chaotic... he couldn't focus properly in such an environment... And it was becoming overwhelming. His eyes did lift to try and look for the way out... but there were far too many body's, and the place was darker than before.... great... he was trapped..

Another bold man made an approach to Felek, grinning smugly, and slightly intoxicated. He put an arm up to brace on the wall right beside Felek, and leaned close, uttering some 'smooth' words to try and entice the Piplup... which were clearly falling flat by the obvious disinterest Felek gave; looking away, with a dull expression.
