(( To set the scene... ))
It was just after dusk, and the carnival known simply as Carnivora had come to the outskirts of Gotham City. Although it had been a major hit in previous years, it had recently undergone new management. Rumor had it that the usually-Gotham-based underworld real estate agent known as the Broker had been involved in the changing of leadership, which meant that any investigation into the new owner would HAVE to be done in person; the Broker was notoriously good at what he did. Another major problem was that now that Carnivora was set up, there were no employees in sight. And to top it all off, every super within reasonable distance (which with the strange geography of the merged worlds, that basically equalled ALL the supers) recieved invitations to Carnivora's Gotham opening night. It gave them a date and time, but no other specifics whatsoever.
Another strange point of note for anyone who listened to the rumors in Gotham was that someone had made a record-high deal with the Penguin for a VERY large amount of information. No one knew who the buyer was, no one agrees on the exact amount, but all accounts agree that the buyer had to pay at least triple Cobblepot's normal price, and even then, Oswald had been reluctant to oblige. No known account can attest why.

Crystal strolled into the Iceberg Lounge. She was rubbing the bridge of her nose in agitation. The young vigilante sniffed out her friend, Oswald, walking up to him she smiled slightly.
"Ping-gy, sweety. Can I ask you a question my dear?" Her posture now carried a more sexy and flirtatious manner about it. She leaned forward slightly as she spoke, reviling her cleavage.
Although she had changed her mannerisms dramatically her voice still had a trace of annoyance and disdain in it, no matter how hard she tried to cover it up.

// Ah...guess that's my que. X{ //
Oswald turned his attention towards Crystal as she approached. As much as he appreciated how...flirtatious she was being, the annoyance she had walked in with, and that was still lingering, was hard to ignore. And with the rumors going around, he had an idea of what might be ruffling his friend's fur. Unfortunately...
"Of course. What can I do for you?" he replied.

((Good luck, Pengy.))
Arell strolled past the Iceberg lounge, leaning up against a lamp-post. Casually, he rolled a smoke and lit it, not worrying about anything he heard about going on. He looked down at the invitation that was in his other hand. He wasn't sure how he got it, hell . . . he didn't even LIVE there! He was only in town for a few days.
Huh, a carnival . . . well, I could use the day off. he thought as he lit his cigarette.

She sighed and pulled up a nearby chair, sitting in it. "What can you tell me about this?" She handed him the Invite. "I don't expect you to tell me much... I just want to know what kind of danger I'll be getting into if I go." She sounded a little less annoyed and more exasperated at this point.

Arell smirked. He could sense something was up. Regardless, the big Cajun stuffed the invite in his jacket pocket. What the hell? May as well take a break from it all and hit it. he thought as he walked into the bar, but not without crushing the smoke under his boot.

Penguin took the invitation and gave it a good look over. Then he frowned deeply, still looking at the invitation. "Well...." he began. "I imagine you'd run into the type of danger you'd expect from a place like that. "Wild animals, horrid food, decrepit rides, clowns..." he said, handing the invitation back to her. "Personally...I wouldn't bother with it. It would be...a waste of your time."
Meanwhile, standing on a rooftop across from the amusement park....carnival....whatever it was supposed to be, was a woman in a black and blue costume. She stood on the ledge of the building, kneeling and staring over at it. She had a....pretty bad feeling about this place. The ominous invite didn't help. But....it was sent to heroes. She needed to check it out.
Luckily Shadow Spider seemed eager to check it out as well. And of course Alex wasn't going to let them go it alone. So...that made about three of them here to check the place out.
Alex was going to take the direct route and just...walk up to the entrance and head on in. Shadow, meanwhile, was going to sneak inside through the shadows and try to find what she could "behind the scenes". For the moment, Sapphire was just going to keep watch from her post to make sure nothing went wrong. After they went in, she'd try to sneak in.

A small wireless surveillance camera picked up on the lone woman in costume on the rooftops, transmitting the image near-instantaniously to a monitor being watched by two people. One was an extremely skinny man, dressed like a clown, and the other was a girl with bright red hair.
