Faction: Ghost Race: xxxxx- Lotus Eater:: xxxxxCommon Desc: Spirits of those who lived in a place where the lotus grew in abundance, Lotus Eater spirits are very calm, sometimes to the point of seeming emotionless. They have a strong manipulation of sleep and rest, as the lotus is a powerful narcotic. Their very presence can be hypnotic, and one can lose track of time around a Lotus Eater. They are not violent by nature, but can be motivated to lash out if their environment is disturbed.
Natural Ability: Lotus Smoke: The harmless flames which Lotus Eaters produce as part of their aura exude a transparent, odourless smoke which affects temporal sense and has a comforting property. When leaving the presence of a Lotus Eater, one feels sad for a moment, and a powerful desire to return to the Lotus Eater so that they can continue to absorb the smoke envelopes them, even without knowing what it is. If someone is aware of the effect, it is fairly easy to dismiss. It is also in no way controlling; anyone subjected to it can choose, by willpower alone, to ignore the feeling.
Personality:
[ + Positive Traits + ] xxxxxLevel-headed: No matter what the situation, Amarus's natural inclination is towards being calm and rational. Even when she doesn't make the best decisions, she has still thought them through. In the middle of frightening, or intense situations, she is very good at keeping her mind clear and concentrating. xxxxxConfident: Amarus isn't afraid of losing, because she doesn't think she's capable of failure. She believes in her own strength, and that no matter what, she will succeed if she keeps on trying. Being a spirit is certainly not going to make her dreary.
[ o Neutral Traits o ] xxxxxStrong-willed: Or "stubborn," depending on the context. Amarus is very specific in her desire to succeed, and since she's level-headed overall, she can become fixated on certain objectives or perspectives. She's too easy-going to really become intolerable, but depending on the context, her strong will is either good, or her stubbornness irritating.
[ - Negative Traits - ] xxxxxCovets Power: Amarus admires and loves those who have what she deems "power;" usually less physical strength, more strong will and a powerful character. However, she can be cruel when she is seeking power, and she may evaluate others as being of less worth than they are because of her skewed scale of merit. xxxxxDetached: Although this trait is not permanently in play, Amarus's calm nature and level-headed style can occasionally make her seem unfeeling. She can, when she's not thinking about it, descend into being entirely inconsiderate and unfeeling, but she is capable of emotion. They are just better hidden, sometimes even from her own awareness. It can make her hard to associate with, for those who are sensitive. This trait also affects her ability to stay "in the moment;" she can often drift off into her own thoughts, which is when she becomes slightly less opaque.
xxxxxQuirks: Because of the strongly narcoleptic nature of the lotus flower, and Amarus's own abilities, she tends to fall asleep when she gets bored... wherever she might be. xxxxxPet Peeves: Grinding teeth, tapping nails; these things drive her crazy. She also doesn't like it when someone makes a joke about her glowing aura.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Simply enough, Amarus was discovered in the Haunted House; from then on, she needed and wanted to understand what this idea of a soul was, and why it was so important. Enrolling in Amityville is one way to achieve her goals, as well as the power which she craves. Death, to her, is one step in a process which she has not completed yet.
FEAR Ability: LOTUS WINE; Amarus's blood is heavily imbued with the sweet wine nature of the Lotus fruit. When absorbed through the skin, or inhaled in some extent, the victim becomes sluggish and sedated at first, followed by feverish confusion and hallucinations. Amarus has to shed her own blood to trigger these effects, they become more or less severe depending on the degree and length of exposure, and she has no control over the hallucinations. The fever is non-deadly, and this state will dissipate very soon depending on the strength of her blood. At first year, it only lasts a few minutes, though the perceived time duration can vary widely depending on the victim. As she is a ghost, the "blood" generated from physically wounding her form is more of an essence than what would be understood as typical blood.

Personality Extras. xxxxxAmarus does come across as cold, sometimes. By her main traits, it may seem like she is kind of gloomy, but she's just as likely to laugh from a joke or smile at a friend as anyone might be. Amarus has a highly protective vein to her nature, and this threads throughout all her traits. Even when she is trying to succeed, and may crush others in her wake, if that "other" is a friend, she will think twice about it, if not spare them altogether. xxxxxWhile she doesn't particularly care if she falls asleep places or not, as if she falls asleep she is usually quite bored, she doesn't like or dislike napping itself. xxxxxHer hobbies include: combat training in all its forms and shapes, painting, and botany. She has also been known by some to thoroughly enjoy sneaking into places where she is absolutely not meant to be, not always using her ghostly influence, but also her level of physical activity to scale walls, jump fences and generally foil attempts to keep her out. She would like to learn lock-picking, but as of now, has focused more on combat than locks.xxxxxShe loves avian creatures. She also loves the smell of libraries, even if she doesn't necessarily read all that often (unless the book is about combat, alchemy or botany). She loves fires, of all kinds, and since they don't damage her, she's quite content to play in and around them. Not to mention roast things on them. Amarus also loves having stories told to her, though if they start to bore her, she will just fall asleep.

Possible Subspecies Information
HEY. So... I can't figure out which subspecies is best for her, so I put together three complete and alternate sets for her Ghost type, and I really need help / votes on which is the most solid / appropriate x: THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for all your time <3. Her personality is kinda blank at the moment, as each subspecies will influence her, but she idealizes strength of heart and soul, is very protective of what she learns to care for, and can come across as over-confident in her own abilities. SO, without further ado, the possibilities: GhostS :: - Shishi Spirit:: xxxxxCommon Desc: Set outside Shinto temples to keep guard, the Shishi are lion-dogs who represent both death and life. They come in mated pairs, though it is generally agreed that only one of the Shishi is a lion-dog specifically, while the other represents a Chinese lion; it is the Shishi with its mouth closed, who represents death and the welcoming of friendly spirits, who is the "true" Shishi. They are driven by the desire to protect their homes, and will channel the energy of Shinto and strength of soul to maintain harmony. xxxxxNatural Ability: xxxxxxxxxx • Cutting the Kuji-kiri: Affinity with Shinto allows the practice of three Kuji-kiri symbols. The full list is Rin, Pyo, Toh, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai and Zen. The three symbols chosen reflect the personality of the Shishi. They are only able to focus on learning three at a time, and these symbols merely influence the wellbeing and body of whoever or whatever they trace them over or for. Jin, Retsu and Zen are generally thought to be unobtainable, even to powerful spirits. Rin: Strength of mind and body; Toh: Harmony with the universe; Sha: healing of the self and others; Kai: Premonition of danger; Za: control of the elements of nature. They are not controlling symbols, merely influencing ones; for example, a Shishi who has an affinity for Toh might remain calm in any situation, or one who focuses on Sha could help push pain out of someone's awareness. FEAR: Ancestral Flame; Amarus's body is licked by ghostly-cool "flames" which are FEAR-driven, and thus affect even those typically untouched by fire. At the early stages, they singe, and cause minor burns if Amarus manages to hold on to her target. Maintaining the flames is difficult at her first year, and they have even been known to sporidically go in and out; she's not capable of maintaining them for a specific amount of time.
Natural Form for Amarus's Shishi nature.P :: - Petro Loa:: xxxxxCommon Desc: Native to Haitian voodoo, the Petro Loa are considered the "hot" spirits while the Rada are considered "cool" in nature. Often mistaken for the evil of the two types of loa, Petro Loa are worshipped with stronger drum beats, whistles and whips, as well as dancing. They serve as a medium or messengers in lore, but they have to be appeased through ritual first. They are more warlike than the Rada, and often considered to have fiery personalities. xxxxxNatural Ability: xxxxxxxxxx • Spirit Fire: Not one to hide emotions well, the Petro Loa are characterized by a flickering aura which illustrates their moods. It is harmless, but does provide light, and the Petro Loa are relatively incapable of controlling it. With concentration, they can direct their aura to cover other surfaces, illuminating surfaces or tracing ghostly flame through a room. At lower power levels, however, these flames outside their aura fade within seconds although they provide the same power of illumination.
FEAR: SOUL BIND; Amarus, whether through an expression/passage personal to her or physical touch, links her wellbeing with that of her opponent. All pain she receives is dealt back to the originator, for a certain period of time and to a maximum cap. At higher levels, she could take the damage dealt to her opponent and use it to heal herself; essentially, it causes a mirroring effect with the pain she is meant to felt. She isn't spared any of the pain or damage, however, at whatever level; even in later years, while she could use some of the damage to heal herself, she would still suffer all the pain her opponent originally inflicts upon her.

Personally I think the petro loa fits most. However, there's a bit of a problem with the FEAR you have in mind for that. There are no mechanics in place that can damage + heal at the same time. I have made a suggestion for something like that, but whether or not it'll actually be implemented at some point is up in the air. For now you'll have to stick with one or the other. More on FEAR?

Hmmm... That's very good to know xD; I guess I never looked at healing before. Frustrating! I wonder what could be done to compensate for the severe damage she'd have to sustain, though? What about if it didn't heal, but dulled damage; that's still supportive, I suppose... but maybe more acceptable than healing outright? *reading the FEAR info again*

Each FEAR basically only has one function. There's nothing that allows for offensive + defensive in the same move.
However! As a student ranks up, they can take additional FEARs. You can start off with one, then the next year, you take a different one that would be healing. It just couldn't be the the same attack.
For example, my Y2 student, Jericho. He started off with a gambler's chance type FEAR so that was using y1 mechanics. Now that he's y2, GC is under y2 stuff and I'm able to take a second FEAR for him. I went ahead and took tainted fang. Since it's a newer skill, it's also weaker.
I'll try explaining a little more if that didn't make sense. XD

YEAH that makes sense xD Well, I can just take out the healing altogether; so long as she acquires the ability to regenerate herself a little, it seems fine to have her take such heavy damage in the first place xD; Thanks Blade >)
