Her outing with Mr. Darrow hadn't fixed everything for Yvette. It had been a nice to get out, but it had only been safe because she had been in the librarian's company. If Mr. Darrow wasn't there, things would have gone wrong. The girl knew it.

Things were safer at home. She wouldn't do anything here that would get her in the hospital. No monsters were going to sneak into her house and put her in danger. It was definitely a very childish way to look at things, but perhaps it was the childish thoughts that gave the girl the most comfort at times like this.

There were disadvantages to hiding out at her home. One was that she didn't get to see her friends all that much. She did like being around people, but some things felt more important to her. It wasn't surprising when one day one of her friends called.

"Uh... hi Tara..." she awkwardly greeted on the phone. The two talked for a bit, and eventually Yvette did what she felt was within her comfort level when it came to hanging out with a friend. "...um... did you m-maybe want to come over for a sleep over?" Of course, Yvette was thinking of a million and a half reasons as to why it wouldn't be fun to have a sleep over at her place, but at least she'd be safe.

The moment that Tara agreed, Yvette knew she'd have to clean up the inside of the house in preparation. There was so much to do before her friend came over to her small home.
