The little two bedroom house was a graduation gift to Cherry from her parents. For a while, it was a happy situation, since she could finally run a house exactly the way she wanted it. But now that Christopher has moved in, it feels significantly smaller. Even so, the house is very neat, meticulously clean, and she has worked very hard to make sure that there are very few odd numbers -- four chairs around the table, two love seats in the living room, six pairs of boots lined up at the foot of her bed.
Cherry's room, naturally, is perfectly neat, and she agonizes over how to keep it as organized as possible. Christopher's room was once the guest room, and is incredibly messy, filled with clothes and books and animal cages. Cherry has just decided to pretend it doesn't exist.

Cherry glanced up at the clock on the wall tensely. Oh, she knew she shouldn't have participated in that stupid auction thing. It was a waste of five dollars. But really, she couldn't take it anymore... And Chris definitely wasn't helping. "Christopher, you need to leave," she pleaded through the closed door. She could have opened it and gone in, but she couldn't bear the idea of walking into that room. Not in the state it was at that moment. She was answered with a few soft thuds and rustling, and then she heard the door click open. She immediately glanced up so she wouldn't have to see his room.
"Why are you even doing this?" Christopher asked with a smug smirk as he stepped out into the hallway, holding Mathilda in his arms and rubbing the rabbit behind the ears. His niece stumbled back and gave him a reproachful look. She was too easy sometimes. "You don't even like guys. It's kinda stupid," he sniggered. "Poor guy ended up with a lesbo."
"You need to go, he'll be here soon," Cherry let out an exasperated sigh. She couldn't have him hanging around. Nothing would get done with him there. "Put that animal away and go play outside or something.
"Her name's Mathilda! And it's snowing out there!" the teenage boy retorted heatedly. Why did she always have to be so mean to his pets? Mathilda was just a rabbit, what had she ever done to her?
"Come on, Chris, just for a few hours. Just go see a movie or something." Cherry ran her hand through her short, black hair. She was going to get a headache at this rate.
Christopher decided not to push it any further, but he still broke into a grin. "Hey, Cherry, did you tell him that your name's Natasha?" he began to tease.
"Out!" the woman barked, jabbing an irritated finger towards the door. That was enough for her uncle, because he quickly retreated back into his room, returned Mathilda to her cage, and grabbed his coat, mumbling as he shuffled outside. As the front door slammed shut, Cherry let out a long sigh and leaned against the wall. She glanced at the open bedroom door and the messy room beyond it, and shuddered. Only a little bit longer... She only had to deal with the mess for a little bit longer...

Avian spent his walk to the Garcia home singing carols cheerfully. Oh did he love the winter season. He had signed up for white day to help the down on the luck families of Nirvani. So, he was happy that he contributed, even a little to the cause. Of course he often donated his money, but this was different. It was a festival! Another thing he loved. Plus he got to meet someone new! Goddess this was the best day all season! A big goofy grin appeared on the mans face as he walked the streets. Waving, smiling, and talking to the NPC's of the town like always. It was easy to see he was a joyous man. And why wouldn't he be? Things were great! He arrived at the house and got ready to ring the door bell. He was dressed in a pair of carpenter jeans and boots, normally what he would wear on the farm, but instead of a t-shirt or tank top, he had on a special garment. Today he was wearing a big, puffy, hand knit sweater that he had just got from his mother for the winter season. It was an off-white color and had reindeer and bells on it in brown. It definitely matched his holiday like mode. He rang the doorbell and waited patiently for Natasha to answer.

Doorbell. Doorbell! Sometimes Cherry felt a little bit like a dog, the way she reacted to things like this, but she had long since grown tires of waiting and just wanted to get this over with. The sooner her date got here, the sooner he could get started, and the sooner she could enjoy a perfectly clean house again, by herself, without Chris getting in the way. So when she heard the doorbell, she hurried over to the door, opening it within moments of Avian ringing the doorbell.
She wasn't here for a date, and really, she hadn't been expecting anything at all, but now that she was face-to-face with the man she paid for, she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. His green hair made her frown, she couldn't really approve of hair that shade, and he didn't look like the clean type. Oh, whatever, it didn't matter, she just needed someone to listen to her directions. She would just do it herself if it didn't make her so anxious. "...Avian, right?" she greeted him without even the slightest smile or indication that she was pleased to see him. "I'm Natasha. I'm glad you're not late." She gestured for him to come in, and placed her hands on her hips. "First off, are you okay with animals? Like, rodents? What about extreme mess?" The last thing she wanted was some girlish man who had the same fears she did. While it would be a nice thought to know she wasn't alone, she was looking for someone to do what she couldn't, not for someone who could understand her anxieties.
