Swept away - everything had been swept away in one wash of the wave. That was how he saw it happened - the destruction of his life. Everything gone. His mom, dad, relatives... Everyone.
He struggled to claw through the ground that day; he remembered it well. His body was soaked, the waters on his fur dragging him down heavily... Flecks of dirt, dust, pebbles, and even more water was crashing at his eyes... He was battered that day, but he managed to survive it all. But there was no one else.
He wandered from his home, knowing well that there would be no one returning soon. Could the tidal wave have thrown everyone back into the sea? It was impossible. They worshiped the sea. How could it have treated them like this?.. It was less of a matter to him, however, as much as his desire to just see his family again. Anyone.
His body was sullen, thin, and weak... His steps brought him forward, but he did not know where. His eyes were half-lidded, weary and just tired. He wandered like this for days. But there was no one yet. Or wait, could that be..? Was it..?
Frailly looking up, dark red eyes focused on what was before his eyes. Were those voices he heard? The sound of pawsteps..?
By now, he very well knew that his family was not coming back. But another community by the sea was, perhaps, a comforting thought.

Neith had been doing the rounds. Things were slowly starting to settle into place, cubs were starting to arrive to make the nursery worth building and the pride seemed to be settling into a routine. It was slowly without doubt starting to come back together. Hunters were still having to go far to find food but they were surviving. The tsunami wouldn't bring this pride down, Neith was making sure of that.
She flicked her tail as she heard paw steps. She wasn't the most confident female when it came to meeting others, part of her was slightly suspicious of the pride members and whether they would at all like her. She found that it would be more then possible to be disliked by all the members here minus her council.
However her light green eyes found the dark lion and she let out a small sigh of relief. He wasn't a pride member and she felt more comfortable around rogues then she did her own pride. It would change over time but she was a rogue and still saw herself as one at times.
"Hello." She said cheerfully heading towards him. He looked like a good strong male, the pride needed more of them. He wasn't half bad to look at either and a queen needed eye candy in the pride!
"I am Neith, leader of the Bahari'mtoto which you seem to have stumbled across."

A sigh - he heard a small sigh nearby, and it wasn't his. Despite his weary body and senses, he had been able to focus enough to hear that there was actually someone else coming right up to him. His dark red eyes frantically searched the area, but he was still somewhat dazed and frazzled, which contributed to his temporary blurred vision.
It didn't take long for the stranger to come in and help him on his search for the voice's source, however. As Neith came in, introducing herself, he was able to focus and see the light blue lioness clearly. He smiled, red eyes locking onto her green, as his heart felt lighter and soul more content. He felt that he would never bump into another lion, much less an immediately friendly one.
He cleared his throat, being unused to speaking for the days he spent alone, and replied, "I... am Kimbunga."
It was clear from his straining voice that he was heavily fatigued and had some sort of trouble in the past few days, but yet, he tried hard to maintain his composure in front of the nice lady; he straightened his posture and stood up a little higher, hoping he did not seem too weak to the leader.
"Thank the Sea... I have not seen anyone, honestly, in the past days. It is truly a blessing to meet you, Neith, and your home. Bahari'mtoto?" he tried to say the name out loud, though the complexity of it at this time was a little too much for him to remember.
"I really don't mean to intrude or pose any threat to your home, I hope you can see," he added, though he didn't think by the tone of Neith's voice that she thought he was harmful either, "My - er - experiences and travels have beaten down on me lately, and I find myself needing a place to lie down... for just a moment."

Neith's ears flicked forward slightly as she noticed his voice. She listened to him speak but there was no doubt in her mind that he wasn't going anywhere.
"Come over here there is a stream and you can drink and rest." She looked at him and then turned and walked a little way before sitting beside the stream. She looked him over and couldn't help but feel sympathy for him.
"You are welcome to stay until you have recovered or if you choose to live here. I just ask you stay away from the nursery, at least until you have made a decision." Neith thought it was at least worth mentioning that as she would without doubt throw him out if he threatened the nursery where the young were protected and brought up safely.

Kimbunga nodded slowly and eagerly to Neith's suggestion, immediately following her when she strolled over to the stream. He didn't notice where her eyes had strayed because as soon as he reached the water, he plunked his entire head in, enjoying the feel of the water and the overall feel of rejuvenation it gave him. He lifted his head up after that to lap up some water for a little more than just a moment, but he just couldn't stop.
He began hearing Neith speak over his drinking, yet he continued to drink and listen to her offer. He was... given a choice on whether he wanted to live with this bunch? He did not know their beliefs or traditions, or even the members and how they lived as a community. But if they were all similar to Neith, perhaps he would enjoy it - especially if they all looked as gentle to the eyes, too.
His head raised to turn to her, smile placed graciously, "That... sounds amazing, Neith. Thank you. I would not dare to disturb any part of your pride that is sacred. It is true I need some rest... But I won't bother you any further than necessary. It seems you all have built an excellent home here, as I suspect you are close to the seas?"
Kimbunga could not deny he was also a little curious about this pride he apparently had stumbled upon.

"Incredibly close to the sea, it's just over there." She motioned with her head, while wondering how long it had been since this male had rested or even had a drink. She also thought the wet look suited him.
"You are also welcome to bother me as much as you like, about anything." She didn't want him to be keeping out her way that was for sure, not only that she could do with more friends, especially strong male ones.
"Let me know what you decide though and this lovely home needs a lot of building. Recently we were hit by waves of water that haven't been seen in these parts before. The pride is slowly rebuilding. It won't be long before the pride is back to it's former glory I am sure." She smiled at him and then looked around. There didn't seem to be anyone else about...
"Do you want a mini tour? I can at least show you where most of the dens are..."
