To say that the new captain was prepare was an understatement, he had gone through great lengths to do his research on the eternal senshi. He had faced her in battle before and it had not ended well for him, though it was to be expected. He was but a mere babe when it came to experience on the battlefield in this war, she had defeated him easily not bothering to call upon her magic until the very end, when he had made his getaway. What the senshi did not realize was that her lack of pursuit had given him the greatest advantage that he could have ever hoped for. It would be the secret card he would release when he needed to, it was his wild card and what he figured to be his fail safe.

He had spent weeks, a couple of months even shadowing her whenever he felt the blip of an eternal's energy pop up. A more careful lieutenant would have fled at the energy signal's appearance but Labyrinthite had always been the curious sort, a reckless one too. He never seemed to be able to conform to the 'norm', he had the tendency to do what he want if it felt right to him, he was working on that. For now, he embraced that side of him as he perched on a rooftop, peering down at the alleyway he hoped his intended pray would pass through.

She always kept to the ground and she would be attracted to his energy now that it's pulse radiated more strongly. He could feel the dark power coursing through his veins as he rested his arm across his propped up knee. In his hand was his weapon, a true weapon this time, his amber eyes flickered towards the short black blade of his scythe. He reached up and tugged the tight-fitting hood forward as he straightened himself. He moved across his rooftop quietly, bright eyes darting back and forth impatiently as he waited.

He reached in his pocket and pulled the starseed he had acquired earlier that evening. It had felt odd, but elating, to reach into the chest of a person and pull the seed from their chest. He had felt it pulse in his hand as he stared down at it, to think it once held the life of a person. He felt a twinge of guilt as he stared down at it in his hand again, his fingers curled around it gently as he moved forward thinking he saw the flicker of movement.

"Iris! I know you're here," he called mockingly, a dark grin sliding across his lips. He felt the starseed pulsing, waiting to be used.

((I have permission to have Labyrinthite possess and then eat a starseed (: ))

Life had finally gone back to normal. No longer was Sailor Iris having to spend her free time in the Surrounding, tending to what she felt were ungrateful brats. No, she was now able to patrol the streets on her own leisure. It was just the thing she needed.

If ********* knew that Iris was back to her usual deal of patrolling on her own, she might have had a choice word or two to say.

Fortunately, Iris hadn't told her.

As she patrolled the street level, she couldn't help but feel slightly anxious. She was itching for a fight. Something to get her blood pumping.

After quite a bit of searching, it seemed as if she had found it. She sensed a dark energy. It wasn't a youma as far as she could tell (though it was hard to tell at times the difference between strong youma and a Negaverse officer), and it definitely was not a Lieutenant. Most likely it was a Captain.

Rather daringly, she called out from her place in the street "Hey, hit me with yer best shot!" Had she even seen who her opponent was yet? No. Was she full of herself? Most definitely.

He felt as though he should be proud, his instincts had been right and his tracking skills seemed to be in shape though he had never truly practiced tracking. He'd done his research, she'd come by this area often enough besides there were only so many eternals out there. It was simply a matter of finding the right one. "Heeeeere kitty, kitty," he seemed to purr as his gaze settled on her. He leaned forward, teetering on the edge of the rooftop as he peered down. "There you are," he mumbled as if he hadn't already seen her.

"You aren't going to break into song now are you?" He mock-teased knowing that it was against her nature to even consider such a thing. When she figured out who he was, she'd probably start calling him a fairy once more. Not that he minded of course, her insults hardly bothered him especially since returning them only rankled her feathers. "Did you miss me?" He asked tilting his head as he pushed off, feeling the weightless of being suspended in the air before he fell down landing gracefully on the balls of his feet.

He swung his scythe back and forth before sliding his hand down the base of the pink weapon, resting the blade against the ground and he leaned onto it slightly. "Notice anything different?" He inquired, cocking a brow in interest as he rolled the starseed around in his palm. He had to time it's use well because the boost would only last him so long. Perhaps he'd just have to keep the battle quick.

That sounded like the proper plan.

"Because I do," he grinned tossing the starseed in the air and catching it in his mouth. He bit down on the crystal, chewing thoughtfully as he darted forward without hesitation.

Sailor Iris was no kitty. In her mind, that automatically went under the label of p***y, and she definitely wasn't one of those. The hint of a tease was noticed, but with a lack of someone to direct her attention to, she didn't have anything to act against yet. The teasing got louder, but it was only after she heard the faint click of shoes against the pavement that she had found the source.

If it weren't for the connection between who this captain was, she might have taken things a bit more seriously. Her body seemed to loosen slightly as she managed to catch sight of the boy while he fiddled with his new weapon.

"...oh... it's just you..." she almost seemed to groan. Her expectations for a good fight almost seemed to go out the window with his presence. If anything, he'd just run away the moment things got too "real" for him. So despite the outfit changes (which made him look like a bad deck of cards) and the improvement in his weapon's functionality, she still was not expecting much of a fight.

That was, until he popped out a starseed and tossed it into his mouth like it was hard candy. It was then that she felt his energy spike. That couldn't be good. Once more her body's stance seemed to tense up as he rushed at her much faster than he had the previous encounter.

"...this is gonna be interestin'..." she mumbled out before calling out "Iris Rainbow Slicer!" From her left hand a brightly colored rainbow appeared loosely like it was some sort of cloth. However, she soon enough was swinging it in the direction of the new captain's weapon.

It could pose problems later on, and that was something she didn't want to deal with.

He didn't waste his breath with another witty comment, instead he focused on the impending battle before him. His speed and agility had increased with his upgrade, combined with the energy boost from the starseed he rocketed towards her. He had gotten used to swinging the plastic flamingo with one hand; he still carried the pink scythe with one hand, but he had to adjust to the weight change. When she lashed out at him, particularly his weapon he lifted it, both hands wrapping around it as he swung it up.

She was trying to rid him of it, he knew that, and he refused to let her. He swung the blade at the colorful ribbon, doing his best to avoid being touched by it. He remembered vividly how painful it had been when his ankle had been lightly brushed. He would not have a repeat. He watched as the rainbow attack wrapped itself around the top of his scythe. He jerked it backward slicing the blade downwards in an attempt to cut through it.

His grip tightened around his weapon as he pushed forwards, hands shifting ever so slightly to avoid the colorful strips of magic before he jumped at the senshi.

There had only been one time that something had been able to truly ruin Sailor Iris' attack. That had been the magic of another senshi that was on the Negaverse's side. Tisiphone. She had used her magic to literally make a chunk of Iris' slicer just vanish completely. Of course, it was because of her that she realized if she really pushed herself, she could make the rainbow regenerate in a sense.

However, right now, she didn't even need to worry about it. Her opponent was trying to slash her ribbon with a mere scythe. The blade would go through the slicer, but nothing really seemed to come out of it. Just a bit of heat was added to the metal. He repeated his efforts a couple times, but each time it didn't yield any results.

"...are ya quite through?" she almost scoffed just in time for him to jump at her. Rather than jump back, she simply jerked at the rainbow she held onto with her left hand. It wasn't like she was trying to rid him of the weapon. It more seemed like she was trying to cause the colored ribbon to make waves, hoping to possibly hit the boy as he came at her.

He cursed the fact that his scythe carried no magical properties, it was only functional as a weapon which was a definite upgrade from his plastic lawn ornament. Still, in a situation where he was trying to fight off a magically produced rainbow whip thing being able to slice through the thing and make it dissolve would have been a definite plus. He grit his teeth together as he jerked his arms back as if it would pull the senshi towards him.

It was useless trying to fight off her attack so he embraced it, thankful that his uniform covered 90% of his body as he fell towards the rippling rainbow. His golden eyes glimmered with excitement as he drew ever closer to the senshi before he lashed out with a kick, aiming at her knees even as the magic licked at his sleeve when his arm came in contact with it.

He hissed slightly as it made to burn through the fabric but he pushed forward, hoping that if he put enough pressure she'd be forced to get rid of it. Besides, he was still riding the high of the starseed certain that it's energy would keep him going and the pain to a minimum. He was too determined to let himself falter. Suddenly, as he was up in Iris's grill, he banished his weapon back into the subspace hoping her attack would fall without the scythe to hold on to. If he needed it desperately, he would summon it back.

For now he relied on his fist and the physical advantage he thought to have over her as he followed the kick with the swing of his fist.

Sailor Parthenope could definitely vouch that Sailor Iris' strong suit was more in her fists. She had been out in the world fighting against whoever pissed her off for many years, but she relied on her fists and her sturdy body to get the job done. She could withstand low kicks, but it wasn't her strong suit in all honesty.

Her leg buckled as his foot connected with the back of her knee, causing her to lunge forward slightly. The sudden disappearance of the weapon also caused her Slicer to lose the hold it had so that she could flail it about in such a calculated manner. So without something to hold it, it went up one time then rushed down to hopefully hit a shoulder now that he was so close.

Proximity was not something she was afraid of though. For a fist-fighter, that was a blessing. It was when kicks started being used to distance the opponents that things could have been a bit more rocky for her style. His fist connected with her gut, to which she let out a grunt. Yet, that didn't stop her from throwing her glowing fist towards his face.

"...ya got better..." she managed to get out with a slight grin, though she wasn't certain what she should have been attributing the improvement to. The captaincy or the starseed she saw him grind into dust between his teeth.

If the captain remembered correctly, their last fight had been primarily a fist fight and the physical advantage had clearly been in favor of the eternal senshi but things were this different this time around. He had spent countless hours at the gym toning himself and preparing for this exact moment. He had spent weeks in the bowels of the negaverse, training in the rift with whomever would have him. He'd even sought battle lessons from the great General-Queen herself. He was not completely prepared but he was more prepared than he ever imagined he would be. He was as prepared as her unpredictability allowed him to be.

His eyes narrowed in concentration and his smile faltered; his lips settling in favor of a thinly pressed line held together by the sheer force of his concentration. Now there was no time for taunts, it was a game of fists and the slightest loss in focus could result in a poorly thrown punch or a well placed hit by his opponent.

He still hadn't full recovered from their last encounter.

He attempted to duck low and slide quickly to his left, her right but her fist cuffed him in the ear. The pain was visible in the way he winced but he tried to keep it from distracting him, he needed to maintain his momentum. He threw a punch towards her gut with his left hand, then swung at her head with his right. He didn't waste time in following up with the equivalent of a spartan kick to her chest to give them some space between.

The smile on her lips didn't fade, though she wasn't very happy about the infamous wiff of air when she failed to connect with this guy's face. An easy fight only had so much satisfaction to it, but when the fight was a challenge and she triumphed, the satisfaction increased ten fold.

The captain's left hand managed to connect yet again with her gut, once more causing another grunt to rip itself out from the senshi's lungs, but she was able to keep an eye on the right hand, turning her head so that his hit would indeed miss. Perhaps it was that move which caused her to get a very solid hit to the chest. Unlike the other times where she had been a bit prepared, this time she had been caught off guard. The difference was easy to note as this time she wheezed after the blow.

With his foot still against her body, she ended up sacrificing her magical attack by grabbing onto his boot with both hands. She didn't need her magic at the moment. She needed brute force. With that, she ducked down as if she was trying to go under the agent's leg while still holding onto the leg he had just attacked with.

Things seemed to be going in his favor, though it never truly seemed like Iris was faltering in any way. At one point, the thought that she was simply toying with him crossed his mind but he pushed it aside. If she was just playing with him then she wouldn't have let his kick connect the way it did, or so he liked to think.

His grin returned, just on the edges of his lips as he moved to pull his leg back only to have Iris latch on and pull it. Amber eyes widened as she tried to go under his leg while still holding on. He hopped up and down awkwardly desperately trying to maintain balance as he attempted to hop in a circle, doing anything he could to keep her from doing whatever it was that she was going to do.

He extended his arms slightly, using them to keep his balance wishing that his training with Serandite had prepared him a little more for this sort of situation. Of course training with her was what kept him on his feet as was.

Too bad he lost his footing and toppled to the ground, his free leg kicking out.

Once she had his foot, it was almost like a bear-trap, nearly impossible to get her to let go. All of his hopping about were obviously vain attempts to get loose, but the ultimate outcome was this boy was on the ground. If this was wrestling, she would have pinned him, counted to ten, and been done with it.

Good thing for the Captain this wasn't wrestling.

When he was finally grounded, she let go of his foot. Had she been a bit more of a bully, she might have loomed over him, shoving her heel into his stomach in triumph. However, that wasn't her style. And according to her style, this guy wasn't done yet.

She stepped away, distancing herself from him and pulling together a loose fighting stance once again. "...get yer a** up, Captain... I ain't got all day..." He obviously was still able to fight. "...come at me!"

Time seemed to freeze around the captain as Iris held herself to him by his foot and he crashed to the ground. His breath was caught in his throat, golden eyes widen in what could be acquainted with horror as he waited for her to drop on him and pin him. So much for his planning, it all seemed to be wasted in that suspended moment.

Then she let go, stepped back and waited for him to rise, demanded it of him. He stayed, grounded, as he stared up at her in disbelief, surely this had to be nothing but a joke. But then he rose, picking himself up off the ground carefully prepared to lash out if the situation called for it. When he was standing he made a show of taking his time, brushing dust from his form before he finally lifted his head to casually glance at her.

"That was a mistake," he scolded shaking his head as he appeared to saunter casually over to her. Then at what seemed to be the last moment he darted forward, closing the space and twisting so he seemed to spin around her to get at her backside, then he proceeded to grab her preparing for the last leg of the game.

She had seen all sorts of different tactics when it came to being allowed a second chance to take a swing at her in a fight. There were the guys who were bewildered and just rushed her right off. There were the guys who chickened out and tried to flee, only to get rushed by Iris. Then there were the guys who tried to play it cool, then fake her out last minute.

It seemed as if the captain was that sort. The way he took his time after standing up to get himself situated seemed to be hint enough that he'd try to pull a fast one on her if she lost her focus. So instead, her eyes followed him as he drew closer to her. When he finally whipped into action, she was prepared.

Or at least she thought she was. He managed to get behind her and already had his arms about her. "Gettin' a bit fresh, ain't ya, Fairy?" she crowed out slightly as she then shoved her elbow back harshly into the Captain's gut.

He grunted as her elbow dug into his stomach but his grip around her only tightened as a resolve. His hands wrapped around her upper arms trying to lock them to her sides. One arm crossed her collarbone and the other across her abdomen to keep her hands down, trapped at her sides. He leaned forward, mouth close to her ear as he spoke. "Not much to cop a feel for," he whispered following up with a, "big, big mistake sweetheart." His words came out like a purr as he concentrated and blink.

He had teleported them to the top of the nearest rooftop. He forced her forward, never yielding or giving her a chance to escape. She was more powerful than he was but he had been so very prepared for this. He forced her to the edge of the building, his sinister grin ever present on his lips.

"I wonder if this fairy can fly," he taunted loosing his grip slightly, then he had let her go and pushed her forward in one fluid motion. "Guess we'll see," he started to laugh.
