Balancing the Books- Callum might be a bit of a boring guy, but at least he enjoys it. There's nothing he likes more than working out the giant puzzle that is finances. He takes meticulous care of his own banking, keeping up-to-date tabs on where/when/how much he spent, he keeps all his receipts for tax season. Every month he sets a budget, and keeps track of his spending with a computer program. Callum would love to show you how to do it too, and even help you with your taxes.

Row row row your boat- Callum enjoys rowing. But not for crew at university. Oh he tried, but failed terribly. He just doesn't have the upper body strength that other rowers do. The type of rowing that Callum is not is not the fast paced type in crew races or dragon boats, Callum likes leisurely rows, the kind where you plan an entire day of just coasting along on the water. Kayaking, canoeing and going for a simple ride on a paddle boat are up his alley.

Desk Toys- Callum loves to collect desk toys (and then arrange them perfectly on shelves and his desk). Little knacks like perpetual motion machines and drinking birds are items that are often found among his possessions. By far, his favorite is a zen rock garden; Callum enjoys making mindless zigzag patterns on it when he's bored.


Virtues:

Always Prepared: Callum likes to be ready for what the day might bring. He checks weather reports to know if it might rain today; even with only a 20% chance, Callum is still going to bring that umbrella with him. His coat pockets are stuffed with tissues and hand sanitizer just in case someone sneezes. He's the type of guy who saves money from every paycheck for a rainy day. Part of is his tendency to worry, but the benefit is that Callum likes to plan ahead for the regular everyday things that might happen. Course, there's no way to plan for being snatched off the street.

Organized: Everything has its place, and Callum likes to make sure it stays in its place. He keeps his home and work space very tidy, and easily accessible. Socks are in the sock drawer and not on the floor. Files are color coded and alphabetized. Callum usually knows where something (of his) is located, and if he doesn't he'll know how to easily find it.

Thrifty: Being organized and a skilled budgeter, Callum knows how to stretch a dollar. He's a bit like a old person at the grocery store, with a pocket full of coupons. He enters contests in the hopes of winning things, instead of buying it outright. Groupon is the best idea since sliced bread to him. He keeps an eye out of good deal and sales. It might make him a little bit well, cheap, but Callum knows that saving a few bucks here means that money will be available to use on something else later.

Flaws:

On a schedule- Callum doesn't take into account the fact that life has it's own plans. He has his own plan! And intends to stick to it. Everyday the man wakes up at 7am, and goes about his daily routine. Callum is not a happy camper if he has to deviate from that routine very much. He's got a plan for his life, and everything needs to happen according to that plan or Callum will be a very unhappy camper. Want to hang out with him, you better ask a few days in advance otherwise he'll already have plans (even if that plan is doing laundry).

Neurotic- Callum is normally an anxious person. He frets and worries over little things like how dangerous it is to ride the subway at night or if his dinner is undercooked how he might end up with food poisoning and die. Callum approaches life with caution. As such, he rarely acts on pure whimsy or impulse, he'd be too worried that there would be a negative outcome. The man is a bit germophobic, and is constantly in fear of being sick. He's a bit of walking pharmacy, armed with cough drops and nyquil just in case he feels a bit of a tickle in his throat.

Impatient- There is no time to wait, I'm late I'm late I'm late! As Callum likes to stick to a strict schedule, he is very impatient when it comes to things that get in his way. Being on time is very important to him, delays are do not make for a happy Callum. He gets very distempered when forced to wait in long line ups. He's the guy checking the time every few minutes, tapping his feet anxiously and making gruff huffs as the line at the DMV takes forever.
