Quote: Seven's Fighting Stats Attack: 1% Defense: 1% Speed: 1% Agility: 1% Intelligence: 5% Another week, another fight. Seven's slate gray eyes slid from the crowd to the overseer to her opponent, and finally back up to Devin, whose hand lightly gripped her collar and reassured her against the upcoming battle. She was ready. Yes, she was.
Her last fight against Imnir had been a bust; she hadn't been ready for that physically, and maybe she wouldn't be for this one either, but they both knew she was ready for it mentally. It didn't matter what happened today, she wouldn't let it get her down.
But that didn't mean that victory wouldn't be sweet.
She took a breath, and everything slowed and eventually faded. Everything except the pit, the ground, and her opponent. She felt her restraint disappear - Devin had let her go - and she charged.

Erebus snarled at the other Mokai as he tugged on his leash. Fur bristling he waited for the release from his owner who finally gave it to him. Today he wanted to be a victor! The white Mokai was ready for this physically and mentally for this challenge and he charged when he heard the bell ding to signal the fight. The sounds of the roaring crowd egging him on. This Mokai was going to go down, he was sure of it.
He could see the other coming at him and lunged, claws, teeth and fur, that's what they all came down to.

She felt her paws meet the white Mokai's, and her attack deflected by his reaction. She landed and bounded out of rebound's way, watching him from across the pit. There was a line that led right in front of him, and it would be a risky move, but if she could make it past his teeth quickly enough and bank sharply to the left, she could maybe turn around and body-slam him, and still have room to recover.
But she would have to be fast... Taking a quick breath, she darted forward, hoping that he wouldn't react quickly enough to take down her attack.

As she slammed into him he could feel the air get blown out of his lungs. He gave a bark of surprise but he didn't back down. No not yet, there was to much riding on this. Getting back on his feet he drew his ears back and lifted his tail. Again he'd lung at her, fangs bared and ready to tear into her. His eyes burning with hate.

A satisfied smirk flitted across her muzzle, even as she hit him. It would be a good, solid hit, that was for sure, and her tactic had paid off. She landed, and immediately bounced back to widen the distance between them and give her a moment to recollect her thoughts.
Even as she did, she saw him lunge out of the corner of her eye, and quick as a whip, she danced away - just in time, as his fangs snapped a mere inch from her face.
She'd have to do better than that. Couldn't count on being so lucky next time. But at least she'd gotten away with it, and with that, she launched forward with a new attack.

As she snapped at his face he drew back, but he was somewhat okay except for the slight bit of blood around his eye. His opponent was good, but he could be better. As they danced about the ring he took steps closer and closer to her, closing this distance could be both good and bad for him.
"You're good." he spoke out as he circled. "But I'm better."
This time he lunged and at the last minute turned his body to kick out at her.

A low growl, as his kick landed, and she skittered off-balance, barely recovering before she ran into in the side of the arena. She took a couple of steps to regain her balance, taking a breath.
He seemed confident, which could give him the boost he might need to win. But she wasn't short on heart either, and she would make sure to let him know that before the night was out.
Seven wasn't big on talking to her opponents inside the ring. Outside, she would socialize, fraternize, whatever. But inside... Inside, her thoughts were reserved for herself.
Without replying, she lunged forward again, aiming for his side.

Again she hit him and he snarled, teeth and claws thrashing once he got back up on his feet. He was bruised and battered yes, but he wanted a win! However his chances now seemed a bit slimmer. Curse this other Mokai. Another snarl as he went after her face.

Crap. She saw his attack coming right at her, and she backpedaled fast. Just, apparently, not quite fast enough. She let out a yelp as his teeth sank into her muzzle. Damn, him!
Reaching with her paws, she batted at his neck, aiming for the unprotected underside with her claws. The bite stung, but not enough to put her out of commission. She still had it in her to win, she just had to figure out how.
And figuring things out was her specialty. If she could just push him into a corner... She lunged forward, snapping. Snapping, but not biting because she didn't need to incite his bloodlust any more than it already had been. If she could just push him into the corner, she could do something - anything. At that point, it wouldn't much matter anymore.

She was teasing him by snapping at him and not biting at him, was she trying to put on a show? Though the bat to the neck stung a bit he was going to retaliate. If she left an opening for him it would be a bite to the underside or behind the neck to throw or pin her.
Already the crowd was rattling the cage, screaming at the Mokai. Were this and illegal fight they'd be screaming "Kill! Kill! Kill!". Thankfully they were not.

She was just about to drive him back and go for a big attack when the overseer called the fight. All the energy she had gathered flowed from her body into her lunge, stopped half-way by a hand against her collar. She strained against it for a brief moment, then reluctantly relented, dropping to all fours and returning to her end of the arena.
Devin was waiting with a beam stretching across his face. He was elated, as was she. She had won! Her first victory! And it certainly tasted sweet.
She turned back to her opponent, watching him from across the pit. Yes, he had definitely been a worthy battle, she wasn't about to refute that.

His human had whistled just as the judge made his decision. He backed down, time to lick his wounds and get over the loss. There would be other fights in the future. For now his opponent had won. Another day another fight as he backed off and padded back to his human's side, he did however give a bow to the female for a good fight.
