Just a few more days…Ai couldn’t wait to get back into the compound. The humans had finally stopped putting that god-awful forsaken yellow goop on her bite, but that didn’t try stopping them from shoving the tablets down her throat, insisting that they would make her heal faster. She vowed to herself to never get injured again. While she did enjoy the company of her human, she didn’t particularly care for the ways they ‘helped’ the mokai. Sometimes nature just had to take its course.
Ai was let out of her stall today, though her master would be watching her closely nearby. The sun shone brightly. She would enjoy soaking up the rays, before beginning a training regime again. She had to make up for the lost time of training due to the injuries she had previously sustained. But sometimes, even Ai would admit, that one just needed a day off to relax, and enjoy life (without the fighting aspect of it).

He had left the house to wander the compounds. Looking at the stalls some owners put their Mokai in. That's when he noticed another gray colored Mokai, and he noticed it was a she.
"Hello." Erebus put on his best sexy look for her. "What's a beautiful thing like you doing out here?" Then he laughed, "Sorry, Erebus. One fighter to another, you are beautiful but I see you've had it rough."

Ai definitely wasn’t on to be impressed on looks, but even every mokai had their flaws. At the approach of the white male, Ai took a double take, before putting on her normal ‘frowny’ face. Seemed like a typical male, trying to flirt. And worse, it was a fighter too. What was his game?
She was taken aback by his comment though. To Ai, she didn’t see beauty. She just saw another fighter female. “Ai,” she nodded, introducing herself to the male. It was only polite to give her name, seeing as he had given his. At his next words, she just smirked. “Appears that way, don’t it. You should see the other one,” sure it was a lie, her opponent wasn’t nearly as bad off as she was, though Erebus didn’t know that.
“You look perfectly flawless.” She meant this by seeing the male having no visible wounds. Either he was damn good at fighting, or green, just like herself. “When do you go in the ring next?” Who knew, maybe this male would be her next competition.

Returning to his sort of arrogant look he nodded at her responses. "Well Ai, I'll take your word for it. I'm fighting soon." he answered. His gold eyes burning with the want to finally be able to get in the ring. Erebus might have been new to it, but he had been training since he was a pup. "I'm hoping to win my fight."
He could see the humans eyeing them but ignored them for the most part. His owner would eventually come find here over her. "Think you can get away from your human? I ditch mine all the time. He'll eventually find him, or call and I'll ignore the call and come home sometime." He gave a brief grin at that.

“You’re lucky.” Ai continued to wonder when the day she would placed in the ring. Part of her hoped it would be soon, the other not so much. She needed to train, to rework her muscles into fighting quality again. Being stuck inside during most of her injuries meant she’d just have to work extra hard. “Well then, I wish you good luck. Do you know who you will be up against?” She crooned.
Her golden eyes flashed over to her owner. People in the settlement called him J.B. but to Ai, he was just master. He was a burly man, married to a female who was the polar opposite of him. Mr. Lindon loved the fighters, but his wife preferred keeping up with the pearl divers. She always fancied the pretty jewels the water creatures brought from their dives.
“I’ve never tried...” Ai was a goody goody, really. She did not like disobeying her owner, for fear of the consequence. “…what do you have in mine?” she eyed the man conversing with another. There were days when you just had to take the initiative, be spontaneous. Speaking with Erebus was doing that to her.

"Not sure yet. My human sorta looked at me and then got all hush hush." He admitted, frowning. "Though wouldn't I like to know my opponent." Fighting was in his blood, that's what he did, how he lived. He did have a code of honor though, unless he was in an illegal fight -- not that his human would do that -- he would never go for a killing blow when he could. To dominate your opponent was one thing, to kill... no. Even if his blood would call for it, he couldn't and wouldn't do it. A fighter lived to see another day, to fight more battles. They didn't have to kill to survive.
When she answered he gave her a smile, "A quick run around the compound around the outer edge? Put some thrill in being close to the wilds but not going away from the safety of the humans. You can at least run right, I mean your wounds don't look that bad."

“Well, hopefully you are matched with someone good then. I hear sometimes they throw culls into battles for us to test fight on.” If Ai had it her way, she would rid all the ‘training culls’ and use actual competitors to fight. There was no need to practice on defenseless mokai. If you were going to do something, you better do it right.
“Can I run? Hah. Don’t make me laugh. Of course I can.” The open wounds had healed, and her head no longer pounded terribly. Her eyes turned to her master. She gulped, turning her gaze back to Erebus. “I’m not a fan of the wild, so as long as we stay within the safety of the compound….” The one thing she needed was to meet another feral. “Race ya?” Without waiting for an answer, the striped female took off. She had to be fast, as she heard her owner shouting after her. Though he was too big in size to actually catch up with his lithe creature.

He threw back his head in a howl as he ran after her, he could hear the screaming of her owner and couldn't help but grin at the fact he had created a rebel. "Now this is more like it." He barked after her. Erebus hadn't had this sort of fun in ages, not since he was a pup to be exact. Though he was allowed -- well took -- his freedoms, he didn't do this often. Being standoffish did that.
When they reached the outer node of the settlement he looked at her. "How much trouble you going to get into for running off like that? I'm sure if he gets to mad about you running off and then coming home I could bite him in the leg or something." The possibility was there, not sure how well his human would take it if he were to do something so brash though. "I'm sure my human would have a heart attack though..."

“Can’t say,” Ai grinned, staring back in the direction they had come. She could not hear the shouting anymore, but she was sure her owner was kicking the ground, cursing up a storm. She frowned slightly…maybe she shouldn’t have done that. “Hopefully it won’t be…to bad.” She remembered speaking with the feral who had the owner that was terrible to her, and she ended up escaping. Ai didn’t think her owner would be that cruel to her.
“I don’t think that will be necessary,” she said quietly. “You don’t need to get in trouble too.” She turned towards him. “You’ve done this many times before?” She asked.

The sounds of the outer node soothed him. Although he wanted to know what was out there, he didn't want to leave the confines of the settlement without his human. There was a thrill out there to be sure, but he was safe here. He barked out at the wilds feeling good.
"I won't get in trouble if you don't want me to but yes I do this often. Nearly everyday actually. I've figured out the trick to not get caught when I run even if I stick out like a sore thumb." Turning to her, "You should learn to get away from your human. They're not the brightest creatures and we're elusive. We're fighters."

Ai listened to him bark, just staring out at the unknown. She couldn’t, she wouldn’t ever embrace that lifestyle. She enjoyed what she had here, in the compounds. She always had a soft bed to sleep on, a nice (but sometimes bland) meal twice a day, and even the sweet treats on occasion. Not to mention to was protected from the rain in her stall, and she could live up her passion by fighting others knowing that if ever needed, there was medicine available to help with significant injuries.
“If anything goes on, I’ll make sure I call you,” she gave a small smirk. Even though Ai could fend for herself against a human, she would never turn on one. She couldn’t help it if others turned on theirs though.
“I…Maybe…” she contemplated. Sure the humans weren’t so bright, but they were the ones that provided the lifestyle of what the mokai in the compound had. If she betrayed them, then they could end up betraying her. She’d get the short end of the stick in that scenario.
Trying to be a little more open minded, the female spoke. “You’ll have to teach me.” She was trying to learn the ways other felt, but there was never a guarantee that it would stick.

Erebus turned to her. It was easy to see that she was nervous. Most fighter's owners were not as classy as his. "I really hope I don't get you in trouble. I'd feel very horrible about."
When she talked about him teaching her he cocked an eyebrow at her, "Well then, I guess its time to teach you."
