A soft colored mare soaked in the fading sunlight as she laid beside a bubbling brook, nestled on the outskirts of an unfamiliar forest. She had been debating for quite some time now on whether it was safe to venture in without the guard of her dear sibling or companion Zamyr. She wasn't exactly one who was brave though she did like to feed her curiosity on occasion. "It's not like Straterra will ever know..." she reasoned with herself. Ambi often found it easier to make decisions when she spoke her mind instead of fumbling over ideas in her noggin.

The uni-mix lifted her body up off of the delicate blades of grass and turned to face the darkening forest, wondering if she'd have time to get in and satisfy her hunger for an adventure before it got to dark. A quick glance over her shoulder at the sun was all she needed before coming to a decision. "It's hardly kissing the mountain tops. I've got plenty of time..." she smiled brightly before wandering into the dim forest scenery. Her tail flicking back and forth as she ventured deeper and deeper before coming upon an unusual treasure.

A color she did not see often caught her eyes, reeling her in like a fish on a hook. Black delicate stripes decorated an orange plush, cutie and unfamiliar. She wasn't even sure of what it was suppose to be. The mare had never seen an animal quite like this and at first she thought it was alive. A gentle click of her tongue resulted in no movement though. Slowly, Ambien leaned down, nudging the fabric of the object with her soft muzzle. Curious, the thing was so peculiar.

The sunset. Breathing out slowly the stallion went back to walking, moving swiftly through the darkening forest with Bau on his 'heels'. Something felt off. Frowning a bit Tavshed stopped in his slow trot towards his usual nightly resting place, his head quickly turning to investigate. Dark purple eyes met...nothing.."Bau?!" Even in his panic Tavshed's voice sounded soft and, raspy. Down below the other, living Bau stopped to peek up at the male obviously concerned. Without a word the mountain lion took a few quiet steps back before pouncing up onto Tavshed's back, her tail flickered curiously. "Gone? I find!" Pouncing back down she sped off leaving Tavshed with a hurt look on his face, now he had lost both his Bau's! Stamping a hoof into the soft earth he rushed in the direction he had seen the lion go. Already far ahead the little familiar paused in her hunt, eyes narrowing when they spotted the beloved, well worn tiger plush near a mare. So it hadn't been stolen, no it must have fallen from Tavshed's back. Letting out a tiny growl the not so fearsome mountain lion stalked from the bushes, maybe she could scare the mare off.

Ambien was never thought of as an observant Soquili so when the bushes rustled slightly the creamy pink mare didn't even flick an ear towards the faint sound. "It's alright. I'll take care of you..." she cooed in a nurturing tone to the antique little tiger plush and picked it up from the 'scruff of its neck' and placed it upon her very own back. If it was alive, which she couldn't be a hundred percent sure of, she didn't want to startle it.

It wasn't until there was a hardly audible growl reverberating in the bushes that Ambien realized she wasn't alone. She took a few startled steps back from the source of the sound. It was close, but not close enough, or at least she hoped. "Excuse me?" she spoke in a soft voice, shaken from the disturbing fact that she could not see who it was who was studying her. The tiger began to slip from her back but she was far to concerned to just let it fall. She quickly nipped at it's neck, catching it from the scruff again, much like she was a mother tiger, and placed it more securely on the dip of her back. "Please, show yourself. You're giving me quite a fright..." she admitted this with some embarrassment lingering in her voice.

Bau puffed out a breath hearing the mare speak meant she hadn't succeed in scaring the other off. Despite her usually sweet nature, Tavshed being upset set her off in a terrible way. Keeping her eyes on the plush Bau slowly pushed through the bushes, poking her head out. "You give Bau back..bad horse!" Some could understand the little lion, some couldn't, it had to be one of those odd things in life that she refused to question. Stalking form the safety of the bushes she, thought of jumping onto the mares back but, what if she jumped or panicked? No that would be too great a risk. Sadly before she could get the little plush back her large companion stumbled through the bushes behind her. Oh what a bothersome thing, what if Bau had fallen into a puddle of mud or some evil creature had snatched the old plush up? What if another had trampled on it? All the what if's bombarded Tavshed's mind as he rushed through the bushes and, trees towards the living Bau's voice. "Bau...." However..something made his soft raspy voice freeze, his muscles tensed when he noticed not just Bau but, a mare standing there..with his Bau on her back! What could he do? Frowning and, twitching he motioned to the plush with his nose, though he ventured no closer. "B-bau...mine. "

It seemed like out of nowhere this bodiless head emerged from the dark bushes, though it wasn't one that was familiar with her. What sort of beast was this? It didn't look like a Soquili in the least bit. Perhaps a creature she had yet to meet? Did it speak? Ambien began to open her mouth to greet the smaller creature before it snapped so boldy at her with words she could grasp but had trouble deciphering. Bad? Her? Ambi wasn't a bad person, nor did she understand what made the feline make such a harsh statement of her. Then it seemed to click.

Another quick glance back at the plush on her back and she drew the conclusion that maybe this was her offspring? Such a lifeless baby but her's none the less? Ambi focused back on the lion and dropped her jaw to begin a long winded apology to the 'mother' before the bushes once again began to rustle and her attention was quickly stolen away by this decorated stallion. Quickly, Ambien's breath was stolen away as she took a sharp step back from the stranger. When he made subtle gestures and short sentences it became clear that the tiger was all he wanted.

Well, perhaps this odd creature and him were a traveling pair, much like her and Zamyr. It seemed like all they wanted was the thing that resided on her back, and not to cause harm. "O-of course," she quickly uttered out, hardly above a whisper as she shakily took the plush off her back and lowered it to the ground slowly. She wasn't familiar with this stallion and his uneasiness in turn made her quite uneasy as well. "I-I'm sorry... I thought it was alone..." she muttered softly to the stallion before backing away, keeping her head lowered from the shame that weighed her down.

Tavshed snorted when he noted the mares equal..what was it? Fear? Uneasiness maybe? Frowning and, worrying he quietly motioned a bit making Bau bound forward to snatch the plush up in her tiny jaws before she pounced back up onto his covered back. There the much happier and, sweeter now that Tavshed had relaxed. The mare didn't seem bad. He felt terrible for possibly frightening her but, with his limited speech and the way talking made his throat ache it seemed like it would be hard to stop her from being afraid. "T-thank....you..Helped Bau." Smiling shyly he dipped his head in a greeting, hoping his words would calm her. After all it had been a long while since someone had wandered into his little stretch of forest. "I-I...Tavshed..you?" Bau perked up form her resting place, instantly taking over as 'translator' for the shy hurt male. "Tavshed can't talk much, I'm Bau! This is Bau too! Sorry if we scared you..." Ducking her own head a bit the mountain lion batted gently at Tavshed's ears, glad that things had worked out

Young Ambi flicked her eyes back and forth. Attempting to focus on both Bau and Tavshed, though it was made much more easy as the small lion leaped upon the Stallion's saddle. With the plush back in the hooves of the rightful owner things seemed to be less tense. Well, at least on Tavshed. What thoughts raced through Ambien's mind were far different. "Oh my, is he upset with me? I shouldn't have touched what was not mine. Why did I think it was okay? Oh dear, where is Terra when I need her?" Thoughts like this rapidly tumbled around in her mind until the speechless male finally parted his lips and actual words came out. More than the first time. He was thanking her? Thanking her for helping Bau? That must have been the plush animal that she had been caring for. "B-Bau? Is that what your little f-friend's name is?" she spoke in a timid voice, tender with hesitation.

He seemed so naive with his words, using the same structure as a newly born foal. "Tavshed? Oh, your name..." she connected the dots and gave a bashful smile before taking a step closer. It seemed like the threat of him being upset with her was now subsiding and he was trying to get to know her a little bit. This was a good sign. The tiger like feline was even becoming more friendly than what was initially shown. "It's quite alright. I suppose I was to jumpy... you were protective of our little friend. It wasn't a good set up for a meeting I suppose. Though, I'm glad we've gotten that out of the way." She brushed her hoof back and forth over the ground to ease her nerves. "Tavshed... Bau.... I'm Ambien. You may call me Ambi if you'd like. It is what my sister favors," she smiled sheepishly at the stallion before closing the gap between them even more. Her approach was cautious but the smile told that she had nothing but good intentions. "Is your friend alright?" she asked curiously, gesturing to the plushie. She still had thoughts that it may be a living creature.

When the mare now matched with the name Ambien moved closer, he did his best to stay calm. She did not seem frightening..no horns or 'weapons' on her body so perhaps the female would indeed be nice. With a delicate p***k of his ears and, a little bob of his head Tavshed let his head turn minutely to peek back at the two Bau's. "A-ambi...Bau okay...yes." Flashing yet another smile he nosed against the two tiger's earning a rumbling purr from the living Bau. Swishing her long little tail the living mountain lion patted at the plush she had been named after. "This Bau's not alive..it fell off Tavshed's back and he hates to lose it. His mother gave it to him..." Tavshed nodded in agreement with the others words his eyes clouding over momentarily with sadness.

Mother. She had been such a kind gentle mare, her and his late blooming sibling that had been so cruelly ripped away from him. Shaking off the dark, shadowed memories he turned a little more, eager to head towards his home, towards the little warm cave he rested in each night. The onyl safe place from the looming darkness of nightfall. "D...D-dangerous...Ambi..dark...dark bad.." Shifting nervously he focused on the kind mares face so his eyes wouldn't flick to the darkness moving in as the sun went to bed. Darkness meant bad things..darkness meant evil, blood hungry beasts would soon appear. For him that meant, he should hurry..hurry to safety in case the dark thing..the dark beast lingered near his forest.

Perhaps with a stallion this jumpy Ambien would have been safer with keeping her distance, though the poor girl lacked common sense. When Tavshed tensed up the brownish pink beauty took this as a sign to keep at least some space between the two of them. Curiosity killed the cat after all, and if Ambien got herself killed Terra would be so disappointed and sad. She couldn't put her sister through that. "Bau... Oh, well I am glad it is alright." A relieved expression slipped over the mare's soft lips and happiness swelled in her eyes. She was quite embarrassed as the living feline explained how the stuffed animal was actually not alive. Blush surfaced on her cheeks though she was relieved in a way because anything that motionless would have been miserable.

Something triggered Ambien to frown though. Just as the word mother escaped the lion's lips she felt her entire vibe turn from friendly towards self conscious. It seemed Tavshed and Ambien had a sour reaction to the word but for two completely opposite reasons. While Tavshed's mother may have been wonderful and sweet Ambien's was very much the opposite. It was because of her mother that she felt so worthless and frail all the time. Constantly unwanted and put down. If it weren't for her sister she would probably rid the world of herself long ago.

"That was kind of your mother to give you such a sweet little present. I've never seen anything like it before. I'm sorry I was confused..." she forced a smile to replace her frown, though her eyes still held that sorrow. It wasn't until Tavshed spoke of danger that Ambien abandoned all depressing thoughts of her wicked mother and focused on what the stallion was saying. "O-oh... you're leaving me so soon? We've just met..." her mood was dampened further by not being able to get to know this male further. He seemed so interesting. "Perhaps.... I shall see you again? When the sun is high in the sky, yes?" Clearly he was more of a day person, though she worried that she wouldn't be able to find him again once they parted ways.

Sighing out a breath the fidgeting stallion stilled and, focused again on just Ambien. Would she be okay on her own? What if she became confused and, lost in the darkness? What if the monster from his past had found the forest and, found her? "N-no....no go..dangerous." Hanging his head a bit he waited fro Bau to speak up for him, it just worked better if the little mountain lion spoke.

Taking her cue Bau happily perked up and, said what her companion could not. "He's worried..the bad thing that killed his family will find him and, hurt you...maybe you can come stay with us tonight! The cave we sleep in has plenty of space." Giving a tiny flick of her tail and, a small bit of a smile she watched the stallion as his cheeks flushed a faint pink color.

He didn't want the nice female to get the wrong idea..he had never been like that. He had no bad intentions, he just worried that something might happen to the kind female..and if it did well Tavshed wouldn't know what to do.
