PrologueFor something so beautiful....it ended so tragic. Why did it have to be this way? The destinies we had assigned to us crossed, they never were meant to end this way. Now we look back and retell the story to you, be prepared, for tears, laughs, smiles, and moments that will make you yourself blush. May we begin?
12 years earlier. "Leeeeeen~!" Rei called, his petite soles padding against the grass of the courtyard. His brother and him had been gone since snack time. His blonde haired brother nowhere to be seen. "Waaaah! Rei!" Len cried out, though he was still nowhere to be seen. Looking in all directions Rei finally looked up, a pine tree above his head and his brother about 3 branches high. "I-I climbed up to high and I can't get down. My shirt is stuck!" Len sniffled, shaking and scared. Rei gasping a bit flailed his hands in the air. "I'll get you down! Don't worry I'm coming!" Rei called, crawling up the tree branches. He met his brother and smiled, "Don't worry, my Prince I'll get you down." Rei said and smiled, the two's favorite game being castle. Len was always the prince, Rei being the servant who always came to the rescue. A bit distracted by the shift into a game Len smiled. "Thankyou, my royal servant." Len said and giggled. Rei unhooking the shirt from the spike in the branch Len squirmed and was able to get down the rest of the way. The two having a few pine needles pelted in their hair. Len smiled and bowed a little, Rei giggling at the motion. "Here, I made you something." Rei said, Len curious tilted his head. From his pocket came a crown, made from brambles but didn't make them so the spiked orbs wouldn't stick in his brother's hair. Excited Len took it and hooked his arms around his brother. Snuggling his chin in the crook of Rei's neck. "I love you Rei." He said, and kissed his brother on the cheek. A light blush on the amber eyed brother he smiled and returned the hug. Though the moment was soon ruined.
Screams leaving a door behind them the two broke their hug, their parents yelling their heads off. Their mother calling their father low-life scum. The father calling her some rather unsettling names, until they finally crossed their arms walking toward the boys. Grabbing them by their shoulders Len dropped the crown. Rei breaking free and scrambling forward picking it up and stuffing it in his pocket. Hugging Len tightly before his picked him up slinging him over his shoulder and walking toward a carriage. Len crying and Rei bawling his eyes out the two reaching out their fingers nowhere near each other. His mother keeping Len from running forward. Screaming as he was placing in the seat of the carriage. The door slamming shut, Rei looked out the window. "Mommy! Len!!" Rei cried out Len reaching out his arms. His own mother simply looking down tears falling down her cheeks and onto Len's head. His father not saying anything silent as the carriage left the castle, never returning until years later.

Chapter I: ReunionFor twelve, long years of separation the boy's became opposites. Their positions in the world no longer the same or equal in any shape or form. Len had just become Prince, his mother dying recently. Rei being trained to become a fond young man, but decided to return to the castle under the service of his brother. Not a day passed they didn't think about that day. Being torn apart not to see each other's face for years. Every birthday alone, sealed away in their rooms. Wondering what their other was doing while they blew out the candles. A empty abyss in their hearts, throbbing pain, unimaginable, cruel, pain.
The autumn air crisp and fresh leaves falling down swiftly. Rain pouring down however and the sky a dark navy blue. Rei fiddled his thumbs as they approached the castle, heart racing like a drum. The gates that once shined, were rusted and the seal faded. His mother must have been awfully depressed. Mourning her death horribly, he could barely remember her face. When he did, it was just her crying as he left with his father. He was anxious to see his brother once again. His true twin, remembering the last genuine words from Len's lips. "I love you."
The carriage stopping abruptly Rei felt his body jerk forward a bit. "Were here. It was nice servicing you." The carriage driver said. Rei nodded and took his luggage opening the door the rain pouring onto his head. A faint apology from the driver as Rei shut the door and the carriage drifted off. His amber eyes shining a bit as the rain soaked him, his worn loafers squishing against the ground. Walking up the front steps he knocked on the door a few times. When it was answered a balding man looked down at him. For his age Rei was still the size of an approximate teenager much like his brother. "Ah, yes we've been expecting you, this way please master Rei." He said in a dull tone. Master? Rei had believed he was a servant. "I am not the prince, I am his brother, I've been sent here to service him." Rei said. The butler froze and sighed. "You, master Rei are a member of the royal family. Making your rank of "royal servant." I will treat you as so. Now if you please I'd wish for you to be...presentable for our prince." The butler said and began walking once more. Blinking a few times, royal servant? Not sure what that meant Rei nodded and followed the bald man his shoes trailing faint drips of water.
The butler lead him up stairs, they seemed to curl upward into a few stories, all seeming so familiar. Though allot of the pictures that used to be hung on the wall vanished. "Whatever happened to the pictures my parents used to have them mounted everywhere." Rei asked his wet hair dripping onto his shoulders. The butler not saying much simply answered. "Your mother, Queen Vermillion had them disposed to a cellar. She didn't enjoy their menacing look as she traveled about the castle. Yours included. The pain was too much for her to bear." He said bluntly. Rei feeling a tad hurt he looked down at his feet. His mother had tossed him aside? To a cellar? Forgotten...
With a slight clap to get his attention Rei looked up the butler making a serious expression. "This is the bathroom, you will take a bath and put on the clothes provided to you. The prince has requested your prescence in the throne room." The butler said and moved off. Rei staring at him he blinked some more. Extending his gratitude he smiled, "Thankyou." The butler simply returned with a faint "Mhmm" not looking back as his hands were crossed behind him. Rei's smile turning faint he opened the door. The bath was large Rei tilted his head, a white marble with silver faucets. Leaning forward he turned on the water, escaping from many holes along with a violet soup bubbles spouting to the surface. Frantic Rei panicked and turned it off. The water still as he sighed in relief, shyly Rei began stripping off his clothes. Unbuttoning his white long sleeved shirt, tossing it to the floor. Then slipping off his shoes, tugging of his knee high stockings, their original white color faded to a gray that showed his cream colored skin. Finally he removed his lower body wear peeking over the tub, he dipped a toe in and smiled. Letting his body drift into the water he relaxed, scrubbing himself clean as the soap did it's work, softening his skin and removing dirt from his body. He washed his hair as it shined against the lights. Making a satisfied storm of giggles he continued his bath in pure pleasure.
When he finished he climbed out of the tub, his hair dripping against the floor. Steam circling around the roof of the bathroom. He smelled like lilacs, the soap must have been scented, purring a bit in relaxation. Rei had missed the wonderful baths of the castle. They tended to lose him, into his own thoughts. Though he remembered the butler saying something about him having clothes supplied for him. He didn't see them anywhere. Had the butler forgotten. Wrapping his lower body in a towel he opened the door of the bathroom, air contacting his skin making him shiver. The cool air swarming around him as steam escaped into the hallway. Peeking his head out he looked down, a small pile of clothes wrapped with a saffron bow. Rei smiled and took them gladly.
He wasn't expecting much but to his surprise it was a whole new set of clothing. First he tugged on some polar white stockings along with some shorts that traveled past his knee. Next he pulled himself into a buttoned up white shirt frills on the end of his sleeves. A black jacket tying it all together as he put it on. He slipped a new pair of leather loafers and wrapped a small red ribbon around his neck. Feeling 6 again Rei smiled then placed his old clothes in a hamper. He took his leave once again and remembered what the butler had said. The throne room, right, Len...
Excited in a want to see his brother he walked briskly desperate want to see the sapphire eyes once more. The way Len's hair used to shine golden against the sun. He remembered everything and wanted to see it again. Traveling down the stairs, he remembered exactly where the throne room was. About to walk through the arch he could see the throne just yet but he was about to. That was until he was introduced to the palace guards. Gripping the young man's arms the pulled him back. "Where are you going welp? Nobody sees the prince unless we are informed." One of them said. Rei not that fond squirmed in the man's grip. "Let me go! I'm his brother for christ's sake, do you hear me?! You are making a mistake!" Rei protested as he was forced backwards. The guards snickering until a familiar voice rose. "Enough! Release him!" He heard, that voice, so clear, so smooth, so..crisp. "But your highness, he-" "He will be let go, now release him!" The voice commanded once again. Rei's eyes wide as the guards blocked his view with their massively large bodies. When they moved he saw that face, that beautiful face. Len.
The prince stared at Rei, scanning his brother. The two stayed emotionless, neither smiling in total shock at the other. Len looked the same, same eyes, same hair. Of course he had a small crown on the corner of his head. The crown, yes! He nearly forgot! Rei took a slight bow showing respect to his prince. "I am at your service your highness." Rei said, this was too much for Len to handle and he launched himself at his brother. Tears of happiness falling down his cheeks, though it also sent Rei backwards and onto the floor. His back hitting the scarlet carpet Rei smiled giggling. He held Len as close as he could against him, the stared at eachother's eyes. Resting their forehead's against each other. "I missed you so much." Len said, tears of happiness dripping from his face. Reaching up Rei, used his thumb to wipe away the tears from Len's face. "I missed you too. So much." He said, burying his face into Len's shoulder. The two remained on the floor the guards only watching, feeling a tad guilty for holding back the prince's brother, but unable to resist a smile at the reunited twins.

Chapter II: Royal WelcomeThe two remained on the floor, Len blushing a little got to his feet. Dusting himself off, not noticing his small crown had fallen off. Rei actually seeing the difference picked up the small crown and placed it on his brother's head. "There you go my prince." Rei said, a memory flashing back into his eyes of the crown made of brambles. How they fixated on Len's perfectly aligned hair. Len smiled petite, taking Rei's hand he tugged him forward. "Come on, I'll show you the private study, we can talk in there." Len said, leading Rei forward. Tripping a little Rei, smiled, "Yeah, okay. I'm coming." Rei said their fingers locked together.
Len brought him to the study, the walls a velvet red, a small fireplace to the left side of the wall, and small cushioned couches across from each other, a round coffee table. Pulling Rei some more he finally released his hand and sat down on the cushioned couch. Patting the spot next to him Len smiled brightly. "Sit, please, sit." Len asked, his hair bouncing a little. Rei nodding sat down next to his brother who scooted closer to his brother. "So, tell me Rei. How have the years treated you?" Len asked tilting his head. The black-haired twin not quite sure how to describe it made a hushed response, "Lonely." He said, a little bit of misery in his eyes. Len made an expression, he had felt the exact same, a part of him wanting Rei to have said, great, or share how wonderful life with his father was. But he was faced with a mirrored answer. The amber eyes once filled with happiness toward his brother filled with sadness. He had felt so alone, nobody to be with and the ability to express that was too much for him. He missed everything, his brother, his mother, the castle, the meals, the baths. Everything. Tears, beginning to stream down his cheeks. "Awww, Rei." Len said and leaned forward wrapping his arms around his brother. Resting his head on Rei's shoulder. "Shhh, it's all going to be okay. Your not going to be alone anymore." Len said, his hair tickling Rei's cheek. Sniffling Rei nodded, knowing he had just cried in front of his brother. "I-I'm sorry my Prince. I just got a little emotional I suppose." Rei mumbled. Scooting away a little Len got up clapping his hands. "Yes, well that's what makes you human Rei. I'm thrilled you've returned, and you look adorable by the way." Len mentioned. The compliment making Rei blush, his cheeks stained pink. His ruffled sleeves swaying he smiled, Len mirroring him.
The two talked, for hours and hours they just talked and talked. Rei told Len about his life growing up with his father, while Len explained stories of the proper training he had to go through to become prince. A part of Rei feeling envious, but another relieved he wasn't going to have to go through the stress. "Len?" Rei spoke, catching his brother's attention Rei tilted his head. "Yes? What is it?" Len asked, Rei's eyes watching his brother before nervously asking a question. "Do you have any pictures of...of mother?" He asked staring at his feet. Len widened his eyes a bit before thinking a little. Though the subject of his mother made him irritated. He always blamed her for the separation accusing her of not allowing it to work.
Len sighed, Rei hearing the noise made him feel smaller and smaller. He knew Len must have resented their mother. Almost as much Rei resented his father. "I can't remember what she looks like. I-I feel that maybe her dying before I was able to get here. It was my fault, maybe she just didn't want to see, she was probably just ashamed." The words spilling out of him. Len feeling a little bad, he knelt down and took Rei's hand. "Mother, used to cry at night. Every day after you and father left, she would scream your name, she missed you terribly Rei. She cherished you. Don't you blame yourself for nature's cruel way of doing things." Len comforted, taking Rei's hand he pulled him up. "I'll have some guards bring you pictures of her, after you've eaten and you're ready for bed. Have you been shown your quarters?" Len asked. Rei shook his head. Making a slight smile Len clapped his hands in a rhythmical tone. A butler appearing soon, this one in particular seemed, familiar. It was the one from earlier. "Naka, this is Rei. My brother." Len introduced, though it was a little late. "Yes, your highness, I am aware. I met master Rei at the door when he arrived. Then showed him to a bath." The butler, Naka Rei believed said. Len tilted his head a little confused. "You two have already met? Well then splendid!" Len said and giggled. Rei smiling faintly at Naka who simply made a forced expression. "Show Rei to his quarters then make sure he is given a hot meal." Len requested, Naka nodded and Rei perked up a bit. "Your not coming with us?" Rei asked, Len shook his head. "I have business to take care of, negotiations with the other countries." Len said, sitting down in a leather chair he crossed his legs and intertwined his fingers. "Have fun brother, and...welcome home." Len said and smiled sweetly.
Rei returned the smile before he was met by Naka's tap on his shoulder. Nodding he followed the bald man out of the study, looking over his shoulder one last time to see Len opening a few files. Following the butler Rei had a smile on his face a bit of a spring in each step. They began traveling up hallways and staircases, it almost seemed like an eternity until they arrived. Not a word spoken, Naka's coat tails bouncing a bit off his legs. Though it must have slipped the butler's mind when to announce their arrival. Rei unaware as he looked at the familiar walls bumped into the old man's back. Though rigid, Naka didn't move an inch simply mumbling. "Please master Rei, watch where you are going." he said. Rei nervously not getting off on a good start with the staff, nodded. The butler sighing, opened the door, "Here it is, one of the royal bedrooms." Naka said, the door revealing an elegant room. The walls auburn, the satin sheets a dark red. Small curtains surrounding the bed in almost a veil. Small furniture about the room, Rei couldn't help but smile taking a few steps forward he looked around. The butler staying emotionless turned toward the door, "Our highness has requested I bring you a hot meal, I will, I recommend master that you change into your nightwear. Breakfast is served at 7:00 so please be awake. The Prince may have some tasks for you to do as well." Naka gave Rei the basic routine. Nodding on occasion Rei listened to every word. It was rather exciting really, returning to the castle.
Naka bowed slightly and left, Rei turning to his wardrobe doing Naka's request and went to change into nightwear. He removed his coat folding it and setting it on his bed as he unbuttoned his shirt, sliding it off his skin as he did the same and placed it over his coat. His skin was smooth, soft from the earlier bath. He rummaged around the inside of his drawers to pull out some pajamas. They were a silky white, it was like a glistening pearl. He wrapped the night shirt around his shoulders and buttoned it up. Slipping off his shoes and taking off his stockings he took of his shorts. Lifting his ankles from the pant-legs he replaced it with the smooth pajama pants it's silk feeling pleasantly against his skin. He took most of his clothes except for his shoes over to a hamper placing them in neatly. His soles moving along the warm floor he curiously climbed onto the bed. The satin sheets moving along his clothing almost tinting them into a slight pink. He rolled about on the bed loving how soft it was. When Naka returned he made a fake cough getting Rei's attention. Blushing a little Rei looked at him straightening his back against the head board.
The meal was crab, one of Rei's favorite meals. His eyes surprised at how good it looked. Mouth almost watering he watched as Naka left, "Uh, thankyou!" He said, hearing a familiar noise once again. An "Mhmm" from Naka then he was gone. Eating his crab, he did everything possible not to get it on his shirt. Glad he was successful Rei put the tray onto the end table and yawned. Though tired, Len promised pictures of his mother would be brought to him before he went to bed.
Waiting for about 20 minutes Rei felt his eyes get heavy, his body sliding down against a pillow he could feel himself slip into a slumber. "Wake up welp!" A guard said and picked Rei up by his ankle. Rei surprised as he was raised up by his leg flailing his arms. His bangs falling downward and his night shirt revealing his tummy. The guard sure was strong, then again Rei wasn't the most fit of people either, especially for his teen like size. Looking at the guard as his arms dangled down he glared. "Let me go at once! My prince will here about this!" Rei said angrily. Cracking a grin the guard used his other hand show Rei a photo. "The prince requested we bring you this." He said, though being upside down he couldn't see it clearly. "Well, uhh! Let me see." Rei said and taking the photo, it was his mother. Smiling lightly he looked at the picture, heartfelt and ran a finger across her flawless curved face. Though the moment was ruined when the guard released his grip causing Rei to fall onto his back with an oof! Bouncing a few times on the bed he glared at the guard once again. "What's that all about?! I'm not a doll you can't just play with me like that!" Rei said, this made the guard scoff. "Aww, come one, I thought you looked adorable. You've got a nice navel." The guard, complimented? His cheeks shooting a red Rei sat up, "Beat it! Beat it before I tell my prince!" Rei said, being handled like that made him angry. But being patronized ticked him off. The guard raised his hands and laughed stopping at the doorway. "I'm Lance by the way." He said, then traveled the rest of the way out.
Rei swore under his breath then turned to his photo of his mother. He was sure to tell his brother about the rude behavior the guard showed him. What time did breakfast start again? Oh yes, 7:00 that'll do just fine. Yawning Rei got up and flicked off the light. Then returning to his bed and slept until the morning. His despite the ending incident the royal welcome sure was, splendid.

Chapter III: The First Sign of Evil [Part1]While Rei had gone of to sleep Len was in his study, finishing his paperwork. When he had finished he himself yawned, running a hand through his edged hair. He was overjoyed to have seen his brother, even more happy to know he wasn't going to be alone anymore. Hearing a knock on the door of his study Len rose from his seat. "Come in." He said in a murmurer. Opening the door Naka walked in, his expression a bit more respectful toward the prince. "He is asleep your highness. Is there anything else you need?" Naka asked. Len smiled a bit, "Yes, inform the castle stables that tomorrow we will be collecting taxes early." Len said, the butler a bit surprised. The taxes weren't needed for a few more weeks. "Are you sure my prince? It's still early." Naka asked, Len stomped his foot, "They want more medical help don't they?! Inform the castle stables the taxes will be collected tomorrow!" Len ordered at Naka nodded. Leaving without a word. Len sat back in his chair gripping the upper part of his nose between his fingers.
The next morning maids entered Rei's room. Opening the curtains and setting out his clothes. The sun shining on his face though it didn't seem to wake him up. One of the younger maids growing a little impatient, wanting to make the bed and be on her way used her feather duster fluttering it on Rei's face. "Come on. Vake up already!" She whispered. The feathers dancing on Rei's face made his nose twitch and he instantly felt himself being pulled out of sleep. With a petite sneeze he woke up, turning to the maid he rubbed his eyes. "Eh? What?" He asked, a little groggy. The maid huffed. "Aww come on! I vas planning on meeting vone of the cooks for breakvast just, hurry, so I can vake the bed and leave!" She said a bit impatient. Rei confused got out of the bed, thinking he had made a mistake he did it with a bit of a guilt filled expression. "I'm sorry." He said, getting out and walking around the maid. "Tank you, Jeez it's like you haven't slept in a bed bevore." The made said a bit irritated.
Rei looked down at his feet, his auburn eyes written with a little hurt. "I just got here, I-I used to sleep on the floor where I used to live. So maybe it was just because it was so comfortable and..." Drifting off he mumbled, the maid stopping what she was doing and looking up. Not aware of what she had done, "Really? You poor thing. I'm sorry I vas just impatient. Here." She said, walking up to him she extended her hand, "I'm Samantha. Head of the maid services." She said and smiled a bit sweetly. Rei looked up at her face, she had dark violet hair and it just occurred to him she was also a different race, a neko. Her eyes matching her hair color she twitched her ears before fussing with Rei's hair. "Now let's get you nice and presentable for the prince, no?" She said and made a toothy smile. He noticed he how her accent put v's in most of her words. He could make out what she was saying but it took longer to process. "Yes! Thank you Samantha." Rei said and smiled. The neko female purred and helped Rei into his outfit. A blood red coat and a button up black shirt, with a red ribbon tied around his neck it was met with his long black stockings and his once again leather loafers. Samantha looked him over and got out the last accessory. It was an extremely tiny hat, "Am I suppose to wear that?" Rei asked, Samantha nodded placing it on his head. Making a slight sqeal she smiled. "Uwah! Vou are adorable!" She said, then a look of panic appeared on her face. "Vah! I have to go! Vee you later Vei!" She said and waved as she ran out of the room.

Rei blinked a few times, was the word adorable really necessary? Huffing a little Rei walked out of the room surprised the tiny hat was able to balance on his head. Perhaps it had a clip or something, not sure Rei continued to walk to where he remembered the dining room was. Going down a spiraling stair case Rei traveled down the stories, walking past a few members of staff who simply nodded when seeing him. He was surprised with how many races of people lived here. He was happy to have met Samantha she had a funny accent but it made him smile. Walking down a hallway he could smell the meal from here, his lips forming a smile he moved through the arch of a doorway. Thou his brother was nowhere to be seen. Rei looked around, his bangs swaying left and right as he looked.
Sneaking behind Len glomped his brother, "Rei! Good morning!" He said, cuddling his face into Rei's neck. Smiling Rei tried looking to see his brother not being able to visit him since their reunion and the talk in the study. "Len! I missed you!" Rei said, excitedly as he wrapped his arms around Len even though it was difficult being unable to see where his brother was. Sweetly kissing Rei's cheek Len skipped in front of his brother. Blushing a bit from the kiss Rei smiled, "What shall we do today my prince?" Rei asked, a bit eager to start some work. Len looked around and waved for Rei to join him at the table patting the seat diagonal from him. Obeying his Prince Rei sat down, Len was wearing his petite crown along with a light golden jacket, tan dress pants and a silver belt. Being a prince, he was given the privilege of dressing as freely as Rei.
Speaking of which Len scanned Rei, a smile on his face. The way Rei's shorts went above his knees and exposed his cream colored skin, he was almost tempted to run a hand across it. Though snapping out of his googly eyes on Rei Len made a slight coughing sound before straightening his back. "Yes, I have a task for you Rei, just deliver these taxes to the city office, but I need you to be careful. Rebels are trying to prevent them from even making contact. So I'll send one of my guards with you." Snapping his fingers he waited for someone to arrive. Rei excited kicked his legs bouncing a bit in his seat, "You can count on me my Prince. I won't let you down. Out of curiosity which guard will be accompanying me." Rei asked, tilting his head to the side. Satisfied to see that Rei was compliant enough to perform the task he answered sweetly. "Well, his name is- wait here he comes now." Len said and pointed over to a familiar face. Rei's eyes widening, it was Lance. About to protest he felt a massive hand tussle his hair. "How's it going welp? Looks like you've got your first assignment eh?" Lance said, Len blinked a few times confused. "Oh, I see you two have already become friends. Yay~" Len cheered lightly, clasping his hands together. Rei could feel his eye twitch a bit and suddenly stood up getting on his tip toes to look Lance at somewhat eye-level. "My Prince! I am not friends with this man! He roughly held me upside down when he visited my quarters last night beyond rude!" Rei said, glaring daggers at the guard. Scoffing Lance grinned, "You got something to say welp? Well bring it on." Lance said, the two nearly forming lightning bolts between their glares. Len slammed his hand down, his golden locks blocking his earlier cheer filled eyes. "Enough! I will not have this mediocre quarreling! You two are going to deliver those taxes or you will both be spending the night in a cold dungeon!" Len said, the other two with a fear struck appearance. Rei sitting back down and looking down while Lance stood straight. "Yes my Prince." "Yes your highness." The two obediently mumbled. Len sighed before letting his shoulders lighten. "Out of my sight both of you. You have ruined my appetite since both of you seem more interested in fighting then you do a meal." Len ordered. Surprised at this treatment Rei was looking forward to breakfast. Making a pleading look at his brother, Len turned and smiled lightly tapping Rei on the tip of his nose. "Do not expect special treatment brother, now be a good boy and I'll let you come with me for tea time." Len said, Rei making a slight pout got up and looked at Lance before walking toward the front door. Len waving at his brother as he left, was this act declared evil? No, in fact good might come out of it, the evil was far from beginning. Watching his brother's backside as he left Len bit his bottom lip, yes he sure did look good in those shorts.
The two making their way to the front door Rei looked behind him Lance sheathing his blade. Blinking a few times in intimidation Lance looked down at the royal servant. "Thanks allot welp, thanks to you I won't be eating, and why do you let him belittle you? You didn't seem to like it when I did it." Lance asked rather bluntly. Rei raised an eyebrow, waving a finger in front of Lance. "My brother does not belittle me!" Rei said, taking note to this Lance swiped the tiny hat from Rei's head placing it on himself. "So this is your fashion sense I see?" Lance asked making a mocking pose. Rei blushed angrily and stomped his foot, "Give that back!" Rei commanded reaching his hands toward the hat. Lance laughing, "Well fine then, here." Lance said and put it back on Rei's head. Once again balancing in place Rei about to yell his head off. "I don't hear any doors shutting!" Len called out in a sing song voice. The two perking up ran out the door not wanting to be under the Prince's anger once again.

The First Sign of Evil [Part 2]The two made their way out of the castle, walking over to the carriage as it galloped up the bricked walkway, past the gates. The outside still stained a bit from last night's rain. Len's shoes clicking against the stone surface he stayed a far extent from Lance. "Vaaaaaaait!!" The two heard, both slowly turning around Rei smiled at what he had saw. Samantha, skipping toward the two her black heels clicking on the walkway. Panting a bit. She extended something, "Vou forgot the taxes you dingbats. Your lucky I vas able to save your behinds otherwise our highness would have your heads on poles." She said, all this rather new to Rei he tilted his head. "Is my brother really that intimidating?" He asked taking the papers lightly from Samantha's hands. The neko girl nodded, "Ves, very scary. Some say it was you two veing seperated so long hit him mentally." She said a bit sadly. "In my opinion our highness was always this way, he tended to have a real-" Met by a push from Samantha Lance sealed his lips sure his voice could possibly be heard by the Prince. "Here Vei, I sneaked this for vou." Samantha said, pulling out a crescant. Rei's eyes widening, he took the dough pastry. "Hey Sam, where's mine?" Lance asked in a blunt tone. Samantha scoffed, flipping her hair, "There's a difference Vance, he's cute, your not. Now off ya go you two, times a vasting!" She said and turned around returning to her "breakfast with her cook friend." Blushing a bit from being called cute once again Rei waved goodbye. With a pat on the shoulder Lance waved for Rei to hurry and get in the carriage the two wasting enough time as it was. Climbing inside Rei stayed away from Lance as he could. Though it seemed the knight wasn't going to give up his teasing just yet.
Looking at Rei's slender figure his eyes traveling around his body. Snapping his fingers multiple times, Rei caught Lance's attention. "Hey! My eyes are up here." Rei said, irritated. He took a bite out of the crescant Samantha had given him. Lance making a slight glare, obviously still envious he hadn't even gotten breakfast. Rei supposed it was cruel to eat in front of someone who was hungry, even if it was Lance. Sighing Rei tore the other half off. Extending it to Lance, "Here." Rei offered, the knight was a bit shocked, the boy giving him half of what was his. Taking it out of Rei's hand Lance ate most of it in seconds. "Ah, thanks for that welp." Lance said, Rei narrowed his eyes looking out the window of the carriage and nibbled on his half. His legs crossed he kept the papers neatly on his lap.
As the carriage rocked a bit the two rolled into the town, a few stones being tossed at the front, the driver shaking his fist as children ran away and laughed. "I don't get it, why do people resent my prince?" Rei asked and he turned to Lance who simply shrugged. Frowning Rei looked down at the papers, though he didn't dare look at them, doing so would make him feel like he was spying. Feeling a slight push Rei assumed they had arrived. The driver called from the front, "I'll be waiting here, you'll have to foot it from here." He said, the other two nodding opening their doors and setting the rest of their walk for their arrival at the the city office. Seeing it not the far actually Rei walked forward, "Okay, let's go Lance.....Lance?" But when Rei turned around Lance was nowhere to be found. Shocked Rei swore under his breath, "Fine I'll deliver the papers myself!" He called out to wherever Lance was. Walking forward Rei could feel a few eyes watching him, his appearance, quite noticeable when he had stepped out of the carriage. Some where unnerving scowls even. Nervously walking faster he tried speeding up his progress to get the papers delivered.
When he had arrived he smiled, glad no problems were made he went inside and looked around. The place nowhere as elegant as the castle. It's walls a bit stained and the paint had been chipped off and dull. He approached the window, his shoes clicking along the wooden tile he placed the papers onto the front counter. "Excuse me sir, these are the city taxes, from the Prince himself." Rei said, his tone hushed as more people stared at him. The man was quite large, his hart balding, he had glasses and a woolly mustache. Taking the papers rather roughly he looked them over. "Taxes aren't due for another few weeks." He said, Rei not knowing what to say mainly remained silent. Fiddling his thumbs, "How does he expect us to pay this?! Huh why don't you tell me that?!" He said and threw the papers back at Rei's face. The sheets flying in the air a few cheers could be heard. Rei began shaking, usually he was confident enough to stand up to a person but not an entire crowd. "Please...um My Prince won't like to hear me say you didn't want to pay." Rei whispered quiet enough for the man to hear. "Oh, well pay him alright, in your blood." He said, on that note Rei could hear the cheers get louder. He had realized the rebels had decided to congregate in the office, this wasn't going to end well.
Abandoning the situation Rei toward the door, but he felt his wrists being tugged backwards and his waist being pulled down. Before he knew it he was thrown onto the floor his shoes squeaking as he struggled. One of them actually falling off as he flailed his body. He could feel a fist ram into his gut, every attempt to get up was just met with another fist. He stayed on the floor hopeless he had failed his prince, he had failed himself. His body lying a bit sore on the floor a break of light poured into the room. A familiar voice booming in like thunder. "What on Earth are you all doing?!" Exploded into the room. It was Lance! Rei peeked up from the crowd Lance's large body throwing people aside and even punching one across the room. He leaned over the black-haired boy. His eyes filled with anger, "Come on welp talk to me, you okay?" He asked, Rei shook his head. Lance sighed and helped Rei to his feet pushing people aside and handing the boy back his loafer. After a few more minutes of yelling Lance was able to shout some negotiation into the city office. Mostly by force that is. Lance picked Rei up, his muscular arms throwing the boy over his shoulder and walking off. Rei mumbled a thank you but Lance said nothing. Setting Rei back in the carriage Lance got in himself and knocked on the wall signalling the driver to leave. "Where were you?" Rei asked, wondering why the knight wasn't there to accompany Rei. Lance groaned a little, "I got a little distracted okay? The bread thing you gave wasn't enough so I got myself an apple from one of the vendors. Lance admitted.
Anger suddenly flowing over Rei he glared once again, "They beat the crap out of me because you got hungry?!" Rei scolded. Lance not looking at him simply shrugged. In his mind he though since he came to the rescue it made it okay. In Rei's mind it just made him lazy, no matter the task was completed and he was going to be able to see his brother's loving face when he greeted him.
"They What?!" Len yelled, his furious reaction when Lance and Rei had told him the recap. Rei looked down at his feet and Lance away from Len. Knowing a bit of backlash was coming his way. "You, you let them put their hands on my brother?! He is not to be hurt do you understand?! Next time you let your gut get in front of your brain think twice before abandoning a task, or would you prefer staying in those same streets?" Len asked, he was letting it loose. Lance simply shook his head, "Sir no sir." He mumbled. Len sighed and fell back in his throne his arms on his lap. "Get out! Go on patrol or something." Len said, he didn't want to punish Lance critically he did save Rei from a worse fate even though it was his fault in the first place. Lance bowed and quickly left giving Rei a quick look goodbye before leaving. A part of him feeling bad for the knight, if Rei had been able to push through this might have never happened. Len turned to his brother and he held out both of his arms for a hug. "Come here Rei, I want to hug you." Len cooed. Rei a bit almost in run went to his brother kneeling down and burying his face in Len's waist. "I am sorry my Prince, I have let you down." Rei said a bit muffled. Smiling lightly Len pet his brother on the head, "It's fine Rei really, you did a fine job." Len comforted, running his fingers through Rei's hair. Rei sniffled a bit and peeked at his brother. His amber eyes tear filled but hid a small smile. Len stroked Rei's cheek, "There all better. Now come closer." Len said, pulling Rei up by his shoulders so one knee rested between Len's legs their eyes level. The prince stroked the tears away, using the end of his thumb. "Your my brother Rei, I will never let anyone hurt you." Len promised, leaning forward he pressed his lips against Rei's.
His cheeks feeling like they had just burst into flames Rei felt ready to pull away. But something held him back something wanting him to stay closing his eyes as he leaned forward a bit wanting to feel more of his brother's affection. The two retained their locked lips. Slowly breaking it the two pressed their foreheads together. A faint smile on Rei's lips and what could be seen as a slight grin on Len's.

Chapter IV: Tea TimeThe brothers stared at each other, Len's hands wrapping around Rei's waist. Rei wasn't sure what had just happened, gripping lightly on Len's shirt. The two remained like this for a bit before Len patted Rei lightly a few times on the back. "Len,...why?-" "Oh look, it's tea time." Len interrupted, swerving around Rei's attempt to ask why his brother had kissed him. Did Len? Nah, Rei was sure it wasn't what he thought, Len was probably just being kind and comforting, yes that was it. Rei thought, though deep inside he knew what was true. Rei blushed and stood up removing his knee from in between Len's legs. "Would you like me to accompany you my prince? Rei asked, wanting at least to spend more time with his brother, along with something to eat. Only having half of the pastry Samantha had sneaked for him.
Len thought for a moment, with a nod in approval his brother's face lit up and he smiled. Suppressing a cheer Rei took Len's hand helping him up from the throne, giving it a small kiss of respect as Len rose to his feet. The prince giggling, his laugh making Rei's heart race. "A deal is a deal Rei, come, let's go to have some tea." Len said, his chin slightly in the air. Leading his brother to where he and a few colleagues discuss some business. These colleagues being other royal princes from neighboring countries. Len stopped in front of the glass doorway leading into the royal garden. "Okay now Rei, these people are very, well let's say high class. Try to nod on occasions and talk when spoken to understand?" Len asked, pulling his brother aside to give him the insight.
Rei nodded and made a slight bow, "Of course my Prince." Happy that Rei was able to comply Len smiled. He fussed a little with Rei's hair trying to hide some bruises under his dark locks. A little unhappy that Rei had been beaten up and forced to be cursed with a few dark spots. Making a slight purring sound Len brushed Rei off who only giggled a few times as Len straightened his shirt. "There now you look like a true royal servant. Along with being cute as a button." Len said, Rei blushing once again made a small nod. The two entered the garden. There was two other people at the table. Rei assumed that they were the other princes Len was talking about. Staying a bit closer to his brother's side.

The princes where both different races, one was a tanned skinned Neko with dark orange hair, his eyes a golden. Jewelry intertwined into his bangs, bright colored beads. The neko wearing a dark indigo suit, white frills around his neck that traveled down his chest. Next to him was a blonde haired boy, wearing a hat it seemed instead of a crown. Perhaps he was from one of the southern countries. Rei's curiosity was ventured for long when Len lightly took his hand introducing him to the company. "Hello my friends, it's a pleasure meeting you today." Len greeted. The other two blinking a few time before smiling in a petite manner. "Why hello there." "Pleasure is mine Len." The two greeted The Prince. Rei blinked a few times, there was something about the neko that seemed to strike a sense of familiarity into him. He couldn't put his finger on it though. Len nodded and held Rei's hand the other princes raising their eyebrows at each other, almost as if surprised Len had brought a guest. Len sat in the chair with the highest back rest, almost like a second throne of sorts. Rei had noticed though their wasn't a forth chair standing next to his brother. Looking up at him Len patted his knee, "Rei, you look silly standing. Come here, sit on my lap." Len requested sweetly stroking Rei's fingertips. Feeling his cheeks turning hot Rei nodded, sitting on his brother's lap. His body had been lighter and more petite than Len's it seemed, must have been the lack of meal him and his father had. Len held Rei's waist resting his chin on his shoulder. "Everyone, this is my brother Rei, my twin. He's just returned to the kingdom, as my royal servant. " Len explained, the two looked at Rei, their eyes only on him, nodding a few times as Len told them who he was. The neko leaned forward taking Rei's right hand and kissing the top of it. "Prince Manda, from the Country of Terra." He said formally, before Rei could react the other Prince, the blonde had taken his opposite hand. Mirroring the neko and planting a kiss on it as well. "I am Kouya, from the Country of Acatosh." He introduced, Len only making a small grin seeing Rei fidget a bit shyly as the princes kissed his hands. When they were gently released Rei could feel his blush worsen as time went by, Manda and Kouya giggling as the noticed Rei's pink cheeks.
Len cuddling against Rei's neck began the tea time, "Time for tea then~!" Len said clapping his hands and a maid walking in. Rei hoping it was Samantha was quickly disappointed when he saw it was just a human girl. Placing a tray of tea along with a plate of muffins, cookies, and other dough pastries. The maid pouring the tea into the small cups. Handing one to Len then to the other princes before gently giving one to Rei. She gave a small bow before leaving. Manda tilted his head looking at Rei then took a sip of his tea. Purring a bit in satisfaction. Len taking a drink the rest began taking their time sipping at the drink. Rei staring into his cup his reflection seen as the small waves moved the gold liquid. Taking a sip from his cup Rei felt it slide down his throat. It tasted refreshing, having a little organic flavor in it. Unable to hold back a small smile Rei set the cup on the small plate he held in his other hand. Kouya turned to Len, "You have never mentioned to us before that you had a brother Len, why is that? I thought our countries shared everything." Kouya asked, curious as he looked at Rei's exposed legs. Len set down his cup of tea and shrugged. "We were separated when we were younger, it was very haunted for me to be away from him. Now that he's here I can barely resist being away from him." Len said pressinA g his cheek against Rei's.
Manda not saying a word merely licked his lips. Not clear whether it was because of the tea or because of Rei's appearance. His ears twitched a little and he nodded his head as he listened to Len's story to Kouya. It was understandable no doubt, the separation of two very close it seems siblings could be heart shattering. A rather sad tale indeed, "Thank you for sharing that with us Len." Manda said, gratitude in his tone. Len simply nodded, picking up a cookie Manda leaned forward lifting it near Rei's lips. "Open wide sweetheart." Manda said, a little embarrassed Rei was terribly hungry. He opened his mouth the small cookie slipped past his lips. Manda smiling, Rei chewing lightly, becoming a tad more comfortable around the other princes.
Playing with Rei's hair Len noticed the twinkle in Manda's eye. Looking onto Rei like he was a shiny object, a little jealous Len almost began to regret bringing his brother. Wanting Rei all to himself, though that seemed impossible especially on his schedule. "How are things in Terra Manda? I hear your people are doing quite well. Did you consider my offer?" Len asked, Manda's expression fading from happiness to one of a bit dark. Kouya and Rei clueless as to what they were talking about. Len grinned a little, the two had made a deal? What was it, where they still negotiating? Len patted Rei on the shoulder, "Rei, can you show Kouya around the castle? I'd like to speak to Manda alone for a bit." Len said cooing into his brother's ear. Rei perked up setting down his cup of tea. He got up from Len's lap and bowed, "I will gladly my prince." He said, making a slight bow. Kouya tilted his head but shrugged taking Rei's hand gently. "Do you have a courtyard Rei?" Kouya asked curious. Feeling his hand taken once more the black-haired boy nodded and Kouya smiled. "Excellent, if you could show me the way please." He requested. Rei nodded and began walking Kouya matching his pace walking beside him. Manda watched the two leave and turned to Rei, "So, what will it take Manda to have you become a part of my kingdom?" Len asked, reading Manda's expression as to why he suddenly decided to give up, what did he want? "Not much, but when we do make the announcement, I'd like Rei to dance with me at the ball. I am eager to play with him a little." Manda said, this became unsettling to Len. One dance? Just the thought of it nearly made the blonde want to decline, but it was only one and Manda wouldn't be stupid enough to cross him. Len sighed and nodded, "Only one, he is my brother Manda. If you even touch him inappropriately I will have your ears on my mantle." Lem stated. The neko grinned childishly and raised his hands. "Please Len, I'm not capable of being so cruel. You have my word."

Chapter V: The Princely EscortThe two walked down a hallway, both Rei and Kouya at the same pace. The Prince of Acatosh's hand grasping the black-haired boy's. It was pleasant Rei presumed. Perhaps a formality for the other prince, unaware if he was being friendly or flirty, and either were likely. Rei remained silent, Kouya simply humming as he attempted to swing their arms to and fro. His eyes tracing along the walls of the pale colored walls. Their journey to the courtyard expected to be a good one. The Prince turned to Rei, his golden eyes on the brother of his friend. "So tell me Rei, why was it that you decided to return to the castle as a servant, you wouldn't prefer the title of duke or perhaps a person with actual power?" Kouya asked, questioning Rei's decision, curious on why he had become a royal staff member. Putting a finger under his chin Rei thought for a moment, "When my parents divorced my mother left my father with nothing stripping him and me of royal rights. My only chance of returned was as a staff member, Len appointing me his Royal Servant. I accepted, it's just like when we were younger." Rei explained; though it seemed his last statement left Kouya confused. Scratching his head he asked, "How do you mean Rei?" The black-haired boy smiled his tiny hat bouncing a bit on the top of his head. As his shoes made a soft noise against the scarlet carpet Rei answered, "Me and my Prince used to play a game, he would be the Prince and I his Royal Servant, I would usually help in his times of need and use that to cheer him up. It worked, now it just seems like reality and it's bringing back a bit of memories that's all." Smiling as he explained Kouya nodded, looking ahead.
Meanwhile Len and Manda had been talking over while the two headed off to the courtyard. Manda's eyes blinking a few times, "They beat him up?" Manda asked a few times, in shock at Len's telling of Rei's delivery of the taxes. It seemed to bug the neko a little for someone so petite as Rei to be exposed to such violence. Len nodded taking a sip of his tea, "And the guard was absent during all of this? Why didn't you have him punished?" Manda questioned. It seemed Rei's brother had a slight reputation of being cruel, his merciful behavior a surprise to his dark-skinned friend. "Lance is a good guard, one of my best. I'd be foolish to have him killed right away. Though if he puts Rei in the a situation like that again, I cannot make promises." The two laughed a little, their senses of humor a bit dark but it helped compliment the tea.
"Ah, what a lovely courtyard. Very radiant; Rei how many flowers do you believe are here?" Kouya asked at their arrival. The courtyard was marvelous. Plant life seen everywhere, arches that were covered in the most beautiful of flowers. The hedges reaching high but allowing sunlight to shine onto the garden. Blinking a few times Rei looked around, smiling at how many flowers scattered around them, petals falling like rain. "I-I don't know Mr. Kouya." Rei said, his mouth a little puzzled in mystery. Oblivious regardless it seemed the prince seemed to be lost in the beauty of the courtyard. Though for some reason he stopped. His expression fading a little, turning a bit blank. In wonder of what had come over Kouya the servant tilted his head. "Is something wrong?" Rei asked, Kouya quickly reaching back placing a finger on Rei's lips. Soon pulling him in close, at first Rei thought he was going to be attacked by a kiss but it was something else. Kouya had wrapped an arm around Rei's shoulder pressing their cheeks together. "P-prince Kouya." Rei mumbled a tad frightened, but was cut off once again by the Prince's placement of his finger on his lips. "Ssssh!....do you hear that?" He asked, a look of serious nature on his face. Blinking a few times Rei tried to listen but couldn't hear a thing. Randomly he pulled Rei's hand leading him to god's knew where. "It's this way! I can still hear it." Kouya said, Rei tripping a little as he tried to keep up with Kouya's practically running pace. His feet almost slipping out of his loafers as he attempted to keep up.
It seemed Kouya had continued to run in what seemed to be circles, wanting desperately to stop Rei kept his lips sealed. Insisted he had heard something Kouya eventually stopped until sighing. "Aww, I can't hear it anymore. It must have stopped." Kouya mumbled. Though he turned to a panting Rei, smiling lightly. "Oh dear, did I tire you out? I apologize, I must have a short attention span." He apologized, the Prince made a small bow. Turning to a tree he smiled, "Come this way, the shade will cool you off." Kouya said, gentler than before, he tugged Rei under the tree, petals falling around them. Pulling him down with him Kouya sat down crossing his legs. Rei was more satisfied to be out of the sun than anything else at the moment. A bit of sweat dripping down his forehead. Cleaning it off with his sleeve, Kouya sure was able to make the boy a bit tired, he began to wonder what Len was doing. That Manda character seemed to be looking at him the entire time, why? Though his thoughts were interrupted when he felt something, Kouya had leaned forward tugging on Rei's ankle. Feeling his body perk Rei fidgeted a bit as he felt his feet being set in Kouya's lap. Blinking a few times he felt his cheeks blush. "What are you doing?" Rei asked, a small formed on Kouya's face turning to Rei. "I feel awful for making you run, I'd like to give you a massage to make it up to you." Kouya said, this sent Rei's cheeks practically on fire. What? Eh? Why? Hmm? All these going through his head.
Working up what little courage he had Rei tried to protest. "You really don't have to do that Prince Kouya, I'm fine really." Rei said trying to pull his legs back. Though his attempt was met with a firm hand on his leg. Keeping them in line, Kouya slipping off Rei's shoes. Remaining silent Kouya slowly ran his hand up Rei's stockings pulling them off. Slightly feeling uncomfortable where this was going Rei tried again to convince Kouya to stop. "P-please I..." Though he was unable to think of an excuse as his cream colored skin exposed more of his legs as the dangled in Kouya's grip. Only humming a bit Kouya began rubbing Rei's soles. The boy making a slight whining sound. Unable to resist asking what was wrong Kouya leaned forward the more circles he made the more Rei began to go into a bit of a fit his noises increasing. "What is it Rei? What's wrong?" He asked going a bit faster. Rei didn't respond but suddenly burst into a fit of giggles. Finally understanding why Rei was feeling so uncomfortable Kouya made a slight grin. Rubbing a little faster, he wanted to hear more of Rei's giggling he found it adorable, the sound almost a music to his ears.
The faster Kouya went the more Rei began burst into a small laughter. His cheeks stained pink as he felt his back press against the grass unable to stabilize his upper body. Kouya smiling as he watched Rei squirm. The ticklish boy's laughter a soft ring. "Stop! Stop! Please!" Rei begged his feet twitching a bit as he flailed his arms frantically in the air. Kouya laughed a bit and released his hold Rei pulling his legs to his chest. Making a small smile at Kouya from behind his knees. The other prince smiled lightly, Rei was so much different from his brother. The prince of Acatosh was barely ever able to play with Len since he became a Prince. It was nice having Rei as a slight replacement. Though he knew the strength it took to rule a kingdom. Something like that can stress someone. Noticing Kouya in thought Rei layed on his back crossing his arms behind his head.
Looking at the black-haired boy's movement Kouya mirrored him following him to the ground. His eyes on Len's brother as he tried to remember the feeling of Rei's skin on his fingertips. It was soft, smooth, and hypnotizing for the Prince. "Prince Kouya, what is life like in Acatosh?" Rei asked, trying to describe it Kouya found the words. Coming from his lips in moments later. "It's a wonderful country. Much like this place, however we are a southern county, so we do not get as much sun, and the plant-life isn't as lively either. But the nights are elegant and beautiful. Perhaps one day your brother will bring you to visit for negotiations." Kouya stated, Rei's eyes widening a bit as he listened. A city with little sun? The thought of dark skies and elegant stars did poke in his curiosity. The two talked a bit more, feeling minutes and perhaps even an hour pass by. It was only a while before they both fell asleep, the shade over their bodies like a parasol.
Len and Manda walked into the courtyard from the garden holding a tea pot wondering if the other two were interested in sharing one last cup together. Though when they found that Rei and Kouya had fallen asleep they blinked in surprise. "Awww, how darling." Len said, making a smile before walking over Rei. With a slight grin he leaned the pot a pit the spout tipping over and tea pouring onto Rei's face. Manda simply doing the same to Kyou only with a small cup. The sleeping pair quickly awoke as they felt the shower of liquid fall onto them. Squeaking Rei sat up in a shocked expression as he saw Len standing over him. "M-My Prince!" Kyou standing he made a slight growl at Manda who simply stuck his tongue out at him. It seemed the difference between tea-drinking princes and those who were closer than that was made. "You lazy two, we send you out to stroll and you decide to take a nap." Len snickered, his tone joking. Manda twitched his ears as he replied, "Shouldn't be too surprised, you left him with Kouya, the most exhausting person to have a crown on his head." This making Kouya grin as he looked at Manda; standing up and swiping the tea pot. By removing the top he splashed the remainder of the liquid onto Terra's Prince. The neko hissed as it soaked onto his skin, traveling down his neck; growling at Kouya and he onto him. "Your dead!" He declared, his tail swishing back and forth angrily but in a playful way. Manda would never actually hurt Kouya but he'd like to at least wrestle around with him. "Come Rei, let's leave these two to their wrestling match while we get you cleaned up." Len said, his sapphire eyes looking down at Rei. The amber-eyed brother nodded. Pulling on his black stockings he stood up, Len giving him his hand for support as he slipped his loafers back on. Walking onto the stone trail, Manda and Kyou tumbling about in the background; Len held Rei's hand. "I love you Rei." He stated, though the definition was still unclear. When Len said love it never came across to Rei as love love. But the way they had kissed earlier was it possible? Rei blushed a little, it seemed the sky had turned a bright purple, the clouds shading into a dark grey. Remaining silent Rei simply leaned his head against Len's shoulder closing his eyes as they returned into the mansion.

Chapter VI: Vhat a Tragedy! [Part 1]As they entered the castle Rei continued to lean on his brother being lead back to his quarters. Len leaving when they had arrived, giving Rei one last farewell for the night. Smiling as his brother left Rei walked over to his dresser ready to take a bath so he can expel the scent of tea on his hair and skin. Taking a dark velvet red silk pajama shirt and pants that seemed a bit long; Rei folded them and left his room. A slight skip in his step as he walked down the hallway. He had forgotten about yesterday, and how far his room was from the same bathroom. Regardless Rei was prepared to take such a walk. His eyes gazing down the hallway, he caught a familiar face in the cross-fire as he continued. It was the butler from the first day of his arrival. Naka? He only assumed that was his name, not a very good memory so much had happened today Rei could most likely forgotten.
Finding it rude to walk by without greeting him Rei smiled politely before saying something, "Hi." Rei said, his tone hushed but loud enough for Naka to hear. The balding butler nodded, it seemed almost as if he had his mind on something, a bit of sweat dripping down Naka's forehead. His gut had told him to follow the butler and ask what was wrong, but his mind told him no, the butler must have just broken a sweat climbing the flights of stairs. Arguing with himself Rei decided to ask Naka before he went to bed for some sleep. Finding it easier once he took his bath.
Finding the bathroom once again Rei smiled, opening the ivory door he peeked inside, it looked exactly the same. Only the hamper was empty and the room slightly less steam filled than when he had left. Starting the water once again, and this time not allowing himself to panic with the rise of the water. Rei watched as an appropriate amount rose and shut off the faucet. Allowing the steam to float above the water Rei began to strip of his clothes. Slipping his scarlet coat off his shoulders, and unbuttoning his shirt as it slid off his skin and onto the floor. He slipped of his footwear and stockings, his shorts and, other clothing that would send Rei into a blush mentioning. His body moving into the bath he felt his skin slide against the tub and soak in the water. The bubbles once again making their way onto his body, climbing his chest and making their way onto his neck. Washing his hair and running the scented lilac water on his body Rei eventually was able to rid the feeling of tea on his face. Along with the slight discomforting feeling of tension. He looked down and felt his smile fade. The citizens had beaten him brutally, dark indigo marks leading up his abdomen, slightly visible as to where their knuckles had slammed into his gut. Tired of looking at them Rei straightened his spine and got out of the tub.
Drying off his soaked body a few feet from the circular pool of water he ran the towel up his smooth legs and then his upper body following. Slipping on his silk clothing he put his worn ones into the hamper. Stepping out into the hallway, Rei squeaked for a minuted the cool air once again storming around him. Padding back to his room, his sleeves swaying far from his hands and his pant legs going past his heel. He eventually made it back to his room and laid on his bed. Just now realizing how comfortable it was, his wet hair against the pillow he closed his eyes briefly before opening them at the sound of someone entering the room. It was Naka, holding a tray, oh yes Rei had forgotten about dinner. As the realization kicked in he felt his stomach clench and felt tempted to clutch his side. He looked up at Naka, who didn't even seem to wait for the thank you this time just simply walking out. "N-Naka wait!" Rei called; the butler stopped. His body still as he crossed his arms behind his back and turning around to look at Rei. "Yes Master Rei? What is it?" He questioned, his tone more solemn than usual. Rei fidgeted rubbing his cheek with his sleeve, a bit nervous as the butler's serious star burned through him. Working up some words he felt them leave his lips, "What's wrong? You seem a little bothered by something." Rei asked, he wondered if Naka was feeling well. What had him so...blue suddenly?
The butler remained silent before making a slight sigh, about to walk forward again before answering. "My son will be working in this castle." Rei didn't understand. Wasn't that good news? For someone to be able to earn money from the castle? "What's the matter aren't you happy?" Rei asked; frowning slightly. Naka pinched the area along the top of his nose. Sighing a bit in boredom. He merely shook his head, "I did not want my son to be doing what I do. To service someone for over 50 years. Earning nothing." Naka explained; finally it clicked. Naka had been disappointed, his son was following his father's footsteps instead of becoming a doctor or something worth being proud of. But instead his son would be escorting people in and out like a valet. "What is his name?" Rei asked, though when he looked up the butler was gone. Perhaps the subject made him leave. Maybe it was Rei, the two never had a very good relationship. Making a small mumble Rei leaned forward and began eating the meal that was served to him.
Once he had finished eating Rei was tired out of his mind, from delivering taxes, to getting the lights beaten out of him, then to escorting a prince. It was all very exhausting, wondering what task Len would have for him tomorrow. He slowly closed his eyes, drifting of into slumber. That was until a sound broke his dream-like barrier. "How are you doing welp?!" A voice thundered in the room. That voice, no, god no, for the love of god no. Opening his eyes in a glare Rei looked up to see a grin, Lance. This jerk had nearly gotten him killed, and now he was making the funnies. Rei sat up and leaned forward, his eyes sending all signs of anger toward the guard. "What do you want?! I'm trying to sleep!" Rei shouted, flailing his arms angrily about in the air. Lance shrugged crossing his arms behind his head, "What's wrong welp? Tired on your first day on the job? or is it your little flirting game with everyone?" Lance asked. Flirting game? What on Earth was this dingbat talking about? "What are you getting at Lance? What flirting game? I don't flirt." Rei questioned; his statement making Lance grin. "I saw you and that prince in the courtyard, he seemed to be making you laugh real good." He teased. Blushing Rei turned away not paying attention as he could feel something on his leg. Suddenly he was in a familiar situation. Lance on the end of his bed pulling Rei over to him by his ankle. Popping his knuckles, gulping Rei blinked. "What are you doing?! Go away!!" Rei demanded, but it was if he was being muted his voice not seeming to reach the guard as he felt the guards hands on his ankles."How about I give it a try?" He said slyly, refusing Rei struggled.
Screams coming from inside his room from behind the door. It seemed like they were Rei's though they were far from those of laughter. They seemed more like screams of pain. "Owww! Let me go! It hurts!" Rei shouted, Lance's voice carrying out as well. "If you'll just hold still welp! Whoops, that crack didn't sound too good." He mumbled. Rei thrashing painfully in his bed. By the time Lance left Rei's room whistling like he hadn't done anything Rei's clothing was wrinkled and his feet...well they didn't feel like they could move for a while. The man had a steel grip nearly snapping them off the bone. Rei's eyes a little lost as he limply turned over and fell asleep.
The sun pouring into the room, it beamed onto Rei's face. Waking him up, Rei yawned his arms stretching toward the ceiling. His legs not as sore as they had been before but when he attempted to walk out of bed he cursed under his breath a little feeling like both of his ankles had been twisted, though in a few minutes the pain faded. Rei unbuttoned his scarlet silk top running it off his body and onto the floor. He put on a gray vest, covered a bit by a dark violet waist coat and black shorts that showed more of his legs yet again. A dark indigo ribbon around his neck he slipped on a pair of white stocking and his loafers and walked into the hallway. Surprised a bit how maid services hadn't come yet. Though it seemed an explanation would soon reveal itself.
When he entered the dining room Rei's jaw dropped a little. The table cloth gone and Len sitting in his end of the table an angry expression on his face. The place looking like it had just been hit by a hurricane. Plates shattered on the floor and no food in sight, the table cloth torn and ripped. Walking toward his brother Rei asked a concern soaking his voice, "My Prince...what happened?" Rei asked, his amber eyes trailing at what looked like claw marks on the wooden dining table. Len remained silent for a moment before transferring his glare over to Rei. "It seems the maids and cooks are in the middle of some sort of little war. I have remained my temper, but I am on the verge of executing all of them. Such petty things what on Earth is going on?" Len wondered, obviously he had gone without breakfast or even a cup of coffee for that matter. Rei wasn't sure what was going on either but he knew he had to do something, "Let me try to resolve this problem my Prince. It would be an honor." Rei requested; smiling lightly Len waved for Rei to come over to him. Perking a bit Rei obeyed and walked over to his Prince standing in front of his brother. "I will grant you permission brother, but these cooks and maids seem to be a bit hostile, let me send a guard with you." He said, and though tempted to say no and do it by himself he could still sense Len's irritated tone. Rei nodded slowly and on that note his brother clapped his hands. Lance walking and out and Rei sighing in despair. Regretting what he had done he walked forward. Lance blinking a few times as Rei approached him. "So welp it seems we're- "Just walk Lance." Rei said, shrugging Lance followed. The second task had begun.
