Home... ::It was desolate.:: ::Jasmine stood there and watched the sand blowing across the plain lethargically, she could look down and see every single crack along the hard and dead earth even with her eyesight.:: ::It was empty, arid, the wind dry and dusty, she just stood there and breathed it in:: It's beautiful. ::She didn't care how terrible a place it looked, this was a canvas, a blank slate, a new beginning, a home of her very own, she couldn't care what anyone else said.:: ::As long as she was here, she would make it shine.:: ::She looked at the tiny silver capsule in hand, very Akira Toriyama, she now had to pick a perfect spot... and considering her albino skin, it would have to be somewhere she wouldn't sit and scorch to death under.:: ::Jasmine crutched her way along, she could swear the crutch was echoing in this empty place, but she tried to ignore it, moving along and exploring the small plot... there wasn't much to it, some highs and lows, ledges were small, but even those she had trouble navigating, taking the longest while to just clamber down them.:: ::But then, there was another ledge. She blinked as she had looked before she leapt over, it was a little further down than the other dips in this land... and she made her way round, slowly, sliding a bit, but catching herself, before she found her way, it seemed almost like a pass, a crevice between two bits of the land, almost entirely shadowed over, she looked up and the gap offered light, but it would never fully touch this little gorge.:: : razz erfect.:: ::She turned around, holding her capsule, ready to designate the spot, when she stopped at the sight before her.:: ::Metal.:: ::The thing lay there and watched her with empty eyes. A savage and cruel looking beast of silver metal, of beak and talon and bladed feather, but none like any she had ever seen in books, its' body covered in red tribal streaks, obviously it was an important Skarmory of some sort:: ::She should have been terrified, or maybe she wasn't because she shouldn't have been:: ::After all, the Skarmory she was looking at was very much deceased:: ::She inched forward slowly, with an almost morbid curiosity, that the first pokémon she would find on her home, was dead, all that remained of this once majestic creature was a metal husk, a frame she could now see the gaps between that left its armored exterior:: ::Jasmine bit her lip, she doubted the fossil labs would deal with something like this, but she certainly wasn't going to leave it here like this either, she wedged her crutch to her upper arm, then clapped her hands together, bowing head in a silent preyer, before looking to these remains:: ::She couldn't bury this all by herself, she wanted to give it a proper resting place, but she had a strict time schedule... and it would take too long for her to keep moving up and down on her legs just now, so that left only one other option:: ::She took her pokéball, calmly opening it whilst holding the upper shell:: Lindbergh, I need your assistance please? ::There was a pulse of red, then within a beat, the purple creature, the little chimera of bat and scorpion combined now huddled on the ground, looking around, dotted beady eyes roaming over the surroundings until she almost purred, the place was absolutely ideal for a Gligar.:: ::The trainer, she considered as she levelled eyes upon the girl, not so much.:: Gliiiii-garr, gli gligar...? [Now if you haven't brought me out to battle, why now do you free me from my musty little prison, human runt?] ::Lindberg cackled to herself, content in the fact at least she could insult the girl without her ever understanding her words:: ::Although the look of acidic spite and hackling were more than enough hint for Jasmine, she remembered the disdain it showed her earlier, but despite herself, she bit back from acting in anyway like that to the pokémon:: Lindbergh, I need your help, can we bury this pokémon's remains?
::Lindbergh's attention went at such a peculiar - no, foolhardy - request, she was here to fight, to battle, to win! Not to act as a Helper Aid to a cripple girl who couldn't do anything for herself! She spat aside and the poisonous glob congealed on the ground instantly, she glowered at the snivelling wimp of a girl and hissed her disapproval::
Gliiigar, gli, gli garrrrr gliiii... [Hah, if I had my way, I'd mount that skeleton up for all the world to see and know my presence...]
::Again, Jasmine couldn't get much of a response, but the fact Lindbergh wasn't helping, nor her attitude certainly implied her reluctance:: Lindbergh, I need your help, please do this and I won't ask you to help outside any other battles today. ::The Gligar scorned, what was this girl thinking, bribery, with what? Promising she wouldn't have to do any other chores after this? She'd show her what she thought to that, not to mention what she thought of the girl's stupid appearance!:: ::Without warning, the Gligar pounced, Jasmine didn't know it until it happened, she didn't even realise it until she felt the gust of wind and saw the massive rip now through the line of her sundress, torn wide open and exposing her side, she grabbed the area, looking round to see the Gligar there, holding a massive gash of the torn fabric, cackling wildly at her:: Lindbergh! Stop this right now!
::The Gligar hissed and tossed the fabric away, before slicing past the girl again, this time drawing blood as the girl cried out, more fabric tearing away, Jasmine suddenly having to huddle as the Gligar pounced from wall to wall, slicing more away from the girl with each move!::
::She knew better than to kill the girl, she was careful enough to know the Academy had far stronger than her to punish such indiscretion... but there wasn't anything they could do to stop her roughing up the girl and showing her who was in charge!::
::A red light came out of nowhere that Lindbergh barely avoided, the pokéball was in Jasmine's hand, she was trying to recall the Gligar blindly, firing the pokéball's red beam back and forth, but to no avail, the Gligar was too fast for her, cackling all the while as the air became warm with the smell of her blood!:: Gliiiiiiiiiigar! [Now for your stupid hat!] ::Lindbergh's claws outreached, ready to whip the thing right off the girl, when something came out that she didn't expect, something far more solid than the pokéball control line, something hit her and she flew back, flapping wings out, looking for control and looking to see what had hit her!::
::The answer actually, was very simple:: Don't. Touch. My Hat.
::There was Jasmine, the girl was covered in long gashes now, however unhealthy she'd looked before, she looked a wreck now, her dress torn and ruined, only a set of underclothes kept her modest now, red gashes were dotted back and forth on her, but in her hands she brandished a weapon. A very simple weapon, which was half the genius of it.::
::Her crutch:: ::A whirl of the length of metal and Lindbergh was looping to try and get away from her, but she wasn't fast enough, something had taken over the girl, those rosy pink eyes had turned an almost fire red and now, the arm clip of the crutch had grabbed Lindbergh around the neck like a collar, suddenly thrusting her into the rock wall!:: ::Lindbergh was so shocked by the change, she didn't know what to do, her claws grappled with the metal, her tail stabbed at the long rod, but Jasmine at the other end was far away from her wrath at this point!::
I won't ask much of you, Lindbergh, but I feel it is best we discuss our relationship just now. ::She held the crutch firm, took a slow breath of air:: I intend to do things right, I don't intend to do anything halfway here.
We're going to bury this pokémon together and show it some respect. I will sweat and bleed for pokémon, regardless of whether they like me or not, I will protect others, so I can grow stronger and be there to help them, my name is Jasmine Titannia Sumisu. Do we have an accord?
~~~~~~~~ ::Lindbergh was conflicted... the girl showed signs of promise, yet, there were certainly conflicts of interest, now there they sat, a large mound of ground was now covered up, only a simple silver cross that Jasmine had produced now lay across the top of it, but the packing of earth was so thick, it was almost as if the cross was now slotted into the makeshift grave:: ::Lindbergh looked at Jasmine, the girl was preying again, she seemed to do that a bit, religious nut or some sort? She didn't know, but all that fire had turned off, she was sitting there with various rags binding her injuries, sitting as best she could on a chair that had materialised along with the modest tent in the middle of this little gorge, their Home now she had said... and they needed to work on it::
::The girl had fight in her, despite whatever she looked... and she had to go with Jasmine... she may not have thought much of the girl or her priorities... but a wicked grin spread over her mouth, she was content to sit back and watch this play out... it could be... intriguing...::
::Jasmine looked up, sighing... she had so much work to do...::
::Then there was a weight on her shoulder, she blinked and looked round in surprise to see the Gligar settled there, sneering at her, its tail curled almost dangerously round her neck, the point moving back and forth slowly::
::But at least she wouldn't be doing this alone, she smiled that sad smile:: ...Come on Lindbergh... let's start our journey.
There's no place like home.
::...Or at least, so the girl claimed, Claudandas moved back and forth, examining the arid little landscape, he was glad to have his legs back to full working order, even more so that the girl seemed adequate enough in having fixed him herself so quickly, as he flexed his paws, jumping from side to side of the valley that travelled in between her land, into the shaded areas::
::The girl was weak, he could see that much as he watched her, jumping up and up again, he would wait... if there was another human, he didn't want him to go right past the place without noticing her...::
::But all that greeted him above, was more dust, and sand, and solid, craggy ground::
::He sighed, this was going to be a challenge... that much he knew::
~~~~~~~~~
::And Jasmine seated herself in the little encampnent, next to the Skarmory's grave, she finally winced, feeling all those injuries at once bury their weight upon her... her shoulder and arm... her legs, her sides, she was aching all over... as she gingerly tried to use her quickly drying poncho as a cushion under them::
::She'd made it this far... one pokémon::
::Who knew how many more?::
::But she surveyed the land... she'd failed it in someways, not getting a water type when she'd had adequate chance::
::She didn't even have anything she could trade for that Buizel like she'd cheeped and chittered to her Professor... she just hoped for now, surviving was enough... the things she had seen... the girl felt chilled::
:And then, she looked at the cavern wall... and fought of those who had fallen, the ones that their lives may have been the reason she'd been here today... the brave little Cherubi, killed while Lindbergh couldn't fight, and the Vullaby, who returned the favor and saved them both...::
::She let the last of her rags and the pieces of broken metal crutch hit the ground, taking the sharp one, slowly and carefully carving into the wall::
-Cherubi -Vullaby
::Although she could do no more... she could at least remmeber them as she sighed, looking at her belt... Lindbergh there... did she want to let her out just now?::
::She considered it... but no... she was tiring, tiring quickly... she just hoped she'd interpreted the Porygon right, but Claudandas hadn't said anything or tried to pull her elsewhere... she guessed she had at least taken the hint, as she would wait, and begin to doze off as she lay back against her impromptu cushion, trying to rest as her many injuries numbed against her...::
Here's to hoping...

It would be the sound of knocking that would wake her up as the sound continues quite persistently outside of her door. The doctor had arrived, and he was waiting for her to open up so that he could check her out.
It wasn't everyday that the Pokemon Center sent him to check on one of his charges, but then again, it wasn't the first time it had happen either. He looked at the very deserted place and shutters lightly ...this was a beginners starting point.
Arid, dry ...it is not a good place to call home for any type of time limit.

::The girl shook herself awake, trying to get up and then collapsing in a heap in her rush, letting out a cry, but quickly suppressing it, she clamped her hand over her mouth, trying not to yell out here... it was an adult, a human... no shouting, no crying out...::
::She took a moment, but finally, voice shaking, she mustered herself from where she lay there...:: Please, come in!
::It would be a sight he'd see with her now in a pile on the floor, trying to pick herself up, Claudandas darting through the Doctor's legs to get to her, his mewling noise as he rubbed in against her, checking her over::
::And her, all she had to say, as she looked up, head bowed:: Thank you for coming... I apologise if this home is a little messier than most right now.
I'd get up and offer you something, but... ::She trailed off there, manners were only so much, she couldn't even ask him to help her?::

"Tut, tut, I didn't come here ....to see your home, Missus." "I came to see you."
He declares with a charming smile as he watches the Purrloin and them bent down to quite literally pick Jasmine up as he would go for the nearest and most comfortable looking piece of furniture to put her down upon.
"Now let's see .....let's check your arm, your legs, and a few other place where you are bruised and banged up." "I have a bit of a salve here that can repair cracks in bones."
He was talking while he worked on checking those areas as he unwrapped her arm first.
"You would never believe it, but it's a formula that was actually created by a Nurse Joy." "Marvelous stuff ....stings like the dickens, but within moments breaks in bones are fixed." "As for scraps, cuts and the such ...well we haven't advances enough to do much about those other than healing, sewing, and time to deal with the wounds."
The man was actually quite a talker as he actually smeared the stuff on Jasmine's arms and then moved to her legs where he would do the same. Before applying bandages to the cuts, and treating as much as she could the bruises on her face and other places as she would find that he didn't even wince at any ideas of privacy.
"I guess, I should introduce myself ...my name is Doctor Swiver."

::There was a small utterance of thanks as he placed her back up on the nearest bed, but she didn't say much, the talkative man would find he did most of the work with his mouth there!::
::As much he didn't wince at any act of privacy, he'd find Jasmine wouldnt' as much as wince at that, nor his salve::
::She sat there obedient, extending limbs despite any pains for him to examine... it would take a while to go over her, but finally, her bindings, then her braces were removed, lying in the middle of the room, and the girl still sat on the bed, looking at her legs as if she were seeing them for the first time::
::Then she bobbed her head, and spoke to him for the first time:: ...My name is Jasmine, Doctor Swiver.
Thank you for the treatment... but- ::He could see the hesitation, questioning an adult was a concept she knew was normally disallowed:: ...Does it really work?
::She looked at her legs and the floor, she'd been told it would have been months before she could have removed the braces, but now, here she was, being told they'd been mended in moments?::
::It seemed an alien concept to her entirely as she fearfully pondered if the legs would even support her or not!::

"It's work so far on all the other patients, but for the cure comes a small price." "You will find that breaks are much easier to come by, and thus, you have to be a bit more careful of your limbs for at least ...two to three months." "Then everything will be as solid as if you healed for real."
"Not that much of a price, huh?" "But in this line of work, it's almost impossible and each usage makes the bones more and more brittle, so the chances for complete healing is less and less."
"A boon, and a curse."
He declares with a smirk ...as he continues his work. When finished he would bandage which needs to be bandage and then looks at Jasmine with a smirk.
"Now, the secondary curse which I am here to delivery ...you bill."
He handed her a slip of paper with 1,000 gold as the price.
"Medicines are not cheap or easy to make." "Though don't fret ...this is your receipt ...your Professor pays all your medically fees until after you graduate from your first class."
"I guess, I should see myself out now ...right?"
He asks lightly.

::..Makes bones more brittle...::
::Her face fell instantly, and as he handed her the bill, she imagined her Professor's face upon handing her it, she looked up there to him, she seemed even paler than usual, but she bit her lip, she looked up::
...Thank you... but... I... I have osteoporosis.
::She let it hang in the air, let him think about what that meant...:: ...My bones are already brittle.
...What does that mean when you use this medicine on myself just now? ::It was a rather important question... and he could see in her face, she'd dropped her 'seen but not heard' act, she was rather heavily worried at this new news...::

"Oh ...well ...I see."
The doctor declares for once lost for words. But, it wasn't long before he found some.
"Well, I guess you get to be our little guniea pig, because, it's suppose to heal and make stronger in a bout 2 months." "But, continuous use makes bones weaker, so what does it to do otherwise already weaken bones ...I would say strengthen and heal." "But, that won't undo the problem you already have, but it should make it less ...if you are successful."
"That is my guess ....since I take it this if your first usage." "In about 2 months, I should know for sure and so should you about what it can and can't do."
He declares with a big smile on his face.
"Let me know how everything works out."
He was actually easing his way out then.
