The male sat in the shade of a tree, breathing evenly as he watched the stiff corpse of a lizard slowly bake before him. The lion fancied himself a chef. Noticing the different tastes and textures coupled with meals during certain circumstances. The dry season left a sprinkle of scorched lifeless shells of any unlucky souls who couldn't find shade in time. But he did notice the refined taste of the older corpses he came across. The fresh ones still remained partially bloodied... but the smaller ones that 'cooked' quickly lacked a lot of blood and had a tasty crunch.
Now the lion sat and waited. Watching the neatly lined row of lizards sizzle in the hot Savannah heat. Being a rouge meant he had little else to do other than wander around... at least 'cooking' took his mind off the stifling heat.

The boarders had been tightened ever since the pale lioness had arrived within the Chokwe territory warning them of a pride of lions not too far from their own boarders that feasted on the blood of their kindred. Vampires... a word that sent chills up the backbones of nearly every one of the veterans of the pride. While Flik was hardly an old lion, the sharp-fanged abominations haunted his nightmares. He and his companion, Viktor, had gone toe to toe with the creatures multiple times in their past and had been fortunate, and skilled, enough to survive to tell the tale. With two young litters of stars among them, they had more than enough reasons to keep careful watch on their territory.
So it was on a routine patrol when Flik happened upon the dusty-coated lion with an assortment of lizards in a variety of stages of decay laid out among his paws. It was...strange. Not the weirdest thing he'd seen, however. There had been a lion who had enjoyed fishing and making graves for the fish he devoured. He named each of the fish so he'd have something to etch onto their graves. Odd fellow...
Flik drew in a long breath, lifted his head, and strode forward. First impressions were everything. If this...stranger was a threat, he'd want to come off as a decent challenge. "Who goes?"
