Ah yes, Cabi is in this guild as well. I read the main post and decided to argue why LOD is better.
1. RPG's are like interactive books. You can take part in them, which makes them in a better since you have the power. Since LOD is an RPG, it makes it better than the books.
2. I have yet to read the trilogy, and I doubt I will until I get my stories finished. xd
Shall anyone argue with me on why LOD doesn't pwn the IT? <-Eh... that's meant for "Inheritance Trilogy..." not Stephan King's evil clown "It..." eek

Cabi, I'm gonna move this thread into the main forum. That is where the debates will be held, as it is both LOD, as well as Inheritance territory. The subforums here are basically just miniture versions of the guilds that the Vice Captains are in charge of.

The Inheritance Trilogy is better. It's three whole books with a good story line. I've never even heard of LOD so I can't say that I like it. And, as I think it's mentioned in the first post, LOD isn't a book? Well, there you go, if it's a game or something then it doesn't have the depth of a book. biggrin there you go.

That is where you are wrong, jusy because LoD isn't a book doesn't mean it isn't in-depth. It has an amazing storyline that once you get into, you can't stop playing. Plus, the character's personalities seem so real, you practically think they are real people.

Said what I was thinking. And games don't have the depth of books. It take a hell of a lot more to write a good book, to publish it, and get people to actually know of it. The Inheritance Trilogy has done all three. Eragon and Eldest have amazing writing levels in all the main points that a writer trys to excel at. You can't compare it to an RPG. I have never in my life seen an RPG that can out do a book. Never. Books are just better. Any fool can make an RPG. Everyone has the right to my opinion.

Books have more of a depth, more emotion. RPGs keep you guessing. they're not as descriptive, sure you can see it but there's a certain feeling about reading say..The wind whistled through her dark hair, bringing with it a mournful tune. Now, reading that, it sounds lovely and leaves you imagining a wondrous scene. If you see it, it would probably be odd and you wouldn't get the sheer beauty of it. Reading lets you use your imagination and stretches your vocabulary. Playing a game only...exercises your fingers? Think of how a character in the game would do something? I don't know. But staring at the TV for so long would damage your eyes too. And tell me this, could you curl up with LOD in a nice fluffy armchair and a mug of hot chocolate? You cn with a book. And it is luxurios and relaxing. Playing a game gets you tensed up.

That's exactly my problem though.. >_< You all say books are better, yet I can't stand reading for a long period of time, about the same thing.. SO in the Legend of Dragoon, you have game play between, awsome battle system that keeps you intrested and paying attention, awsome story line, and pretty good graphics for when it was made. Sure I get mad at the game when I try about seventeen million times to do Rod Typhoon with Albert, but I eventually get it then continue on! ^_^ but see.. with a book.. if I get bored, I'll place it down and I won't go back to it for a while... if at all.. >_<

I think it simply comes down to your personality. Some people prefer curling up with a book and using their imagination. Some prefer to play games and the such. So, there really isn't a debate because it depends on the person, they personality and what resources they have. Everyone's different so they prefer different things.

Pretty much yup.. ^_^ who ever likes books, likes the Inheritance Trilogy, and the people that like games like Legend of Dragoon. It's that simple... the debates really are not going to work that well... unless it's about story live or SOMTHING but about the trilogy and the game them selves.. we're not gonna get real far.. >_<
