You are the apple...

First off, I skimmed through the ToS to make sure this wasn't too out there that they had to list it as prohibited. Didn't find anything lol Anyways...

Is anyone else into drinking blood? Personally, I kinda like the taste of it, but it has to be human. Don't mind animal blood too much, but my steaks are never rare lol.

I'm more into cutting the skin, than drinking though. I can't just straight drink blood from a bag or anything.

This is more of a fetish for me, however, and not something I'd do religiously.

If anyone else is interested in the idea, but hasn't done it, there ARE risks, of course, to both you and the donor. Blood-borne diseases (such as HIV and Hepatitis) and various infections are included in these risks. You should look up and address the risks before attempting to drink another person's (or animal's) blood.

Human blood is absolutely disgusting. It's coppery and unpleasant to the taste, it thickens in the throat and a belly full made me want to vomit. Cow blood, however, has much less iron. It's smooth and delicious, especially if it isn't cooked out of the steak yet. Such steaks don't even need sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it...
I'd have to say that I'm glad that I don't care for human blood. The fans of the modern vampire (who have long since culturally forgotten what the word "undead" means) would make me want to vomit, even if having a gut full of blood didn't.
A word to the wise: Human meat is bad for you. Look up "Wendigo psychosis" on wiki for more information on that. I don't know how much of the chemicals that affect the mind are stored in the blood, but you may just want to look into that. For some reason, we just don't appear to be made to consume one another.

I've only ever tasted my own blood from cuts and scrapes, but I've always found the taste interesting. I can't ever really determine what it is usually due to my deadened sense of taste, but what little I can detect is good. I sometimes wondered what it would be like to simply cut myself and drink... Maybe I'm crazy, or maybe I'm just curious, but I don't really care. I don't know if I'll ever man up and try it, but it's nice to imagine.

I remember my great grandmother would always use the "windigo bird" myth to scare us kids into behaving on long car rides when we were younger lol.

The effects on a human sound like they could have perpetuated the idea of the modern "zombie". Still, I find the idea of eating another person just...not pleasant, even to think about. I'll merely drink the blood, but even then it's merely a fetish, not something I'd do commonly.

That's what first got me into the idea. I never could bring myself to harm myself and then drink my own blood. I'm a pansy when it comes to pain, hah.

Is the "windigo bird" in any way related to the wendigo? I've never heard any myths pertaining to it.
No, what you and most of America thinks of as a zombie was made up with zero research by George Romero. Zombies and people eating (be it brains or flesh), as well as procreation by disease (via scratches, bites, etc) was attached to an undead seemingly chosen at random. These things previously had no more to do with zombies than they did with ogres, mormons, republicans, or any other scary creatures... Not that Americans care to see anything differently after hearing that they have no basis in myth.
Honestly, vile taste aside, I could never imagine how the thought of it being sexy became so prolific. Biting, I get, but not the rest. All I see linking it is the color red and the idea of fluid exchange.
Then again, such things merit no explanation and I won't ask you to defend or explain it. Fetishes don't work that way. I'm just depositing my two cents and shuffling on about my way, with no more desire to heckle you about your fetishes than I want to be heckled about mine, some of which are far less usual. I say, when it comes to consenting adults in the privacy of their own homes, anything goes.

Actually, that's not entirely true. Zombies do have some basis in myth. There are legends telling of voodoo priests raising the death to do their dirty work and some European ones describing undead similar to what we now call vampires(if you exclude the Twilight vampires, I mean come on, a vampire that SPARKLES!!! That just screams gay vampire no matter how you look at it...) In fact, zombie myths actually produced the basis for the classic Dracula-style vampires. Zombies and vampires in Asian myths are also closely linked, in that zombies actually became vampires if they ate enough human flesh.

Sleep forever now my darling...

Heeehhh.. this reminds me of a funny, yet sad, story o: (It'll only be sad to me because I have to think about a certain person..)

So, one time me and my ex boyfriend Alex were sitting under our special tree st the park, and he was playing with his switch blade. He accidentally cut his finger doing so. so he dared me to lick the blood o_O
I did... tasted disgusting... but I kept it on my tongue, and made him kiss me >:3

Oh the fun memories that are now dead....literally c: ._.

...I won't dwell on Heaven's calling.

I lap up my own blood when I get cut (tastes like iron), but it's not a fetish at all.
I have much different ones.

I don't really like to drink my blood, but I like the smell of it.
Kinda coppery...I smell it before I see it.

I didn't say that zombies didn't exist, I said that the association with flesh eating didn't exist.
Are you referring to the Jiang Shi? They weren't blood drinkers. They absorbed chi, more like the original energy draining vampires of European lore of the 16th century. I have done no small amount of research on this and there is no association between those creatures and zombies before hand, nor eating flesh to gain power nor change from one to the other. You will realize that this is particularly impossible when you realize that these myths came from when Haiti and China had no contact. If you mean that China had their own being similar to a zombie, then the mythological similarities are coincidental.

I knew a guy who'd drink blood with his alchahol. It was in a tube and he'd poor it into his martini. It was funny, he was trying to be all mysterious with it, but when I tried it, it was clear what it was supposed to be.

The thing is, it wasn't human blood, it didn't taste anything like it. I pandered to him, about all this stuff he said about himself. He said he was a vampire, and that he could leach off the life energy of people to survive, or in a fight, to make himself more powerful. I kind of wanted to beat him up after he said that, but I didn't. Maybe he was leaching me to a lazy state.

Anyway, he claimed to be able to sense people and get a good read off of them, but then managed to guess wrong several people's favorite drink.

That's really my only story about blood drinking and/or vampires.
