Gebhuza was not used to long term missions. He was currently keeping a eye on a pride whose neighbors worried might be considering a little… expansion. So far he had seen no signs of any such intentions but they did seem to multiply like wild dogs. Because he had to be absolutely sure the pride posed no danger, the dark lion had camped close to its borders. Though not very demanding in terms of physical effort, this mission was tiresome and repetitive. As he silently made his way to the large tree whose roots he had claimed as his sleeping spot, Gebhuza yawned quietly, keen eyes and ears always making sure he wasn’t been followed.

Not to far from Gebhuza was Kaveri in the water where she dipped herself and allowed the water to dance on her body, the sun causing glimmers on her pelt. Stepping out of the water she padded to the grass, leaving paw prints on the sand until they burned away. She was quiet, at least right now.

With a yawn she laid down in the grass, sprawling out to catch as much light as possible. However she kept feeling as if she was being watched and the feeling bothered her.

Gebhuza wasn’t very happy to find a leopardess so close to “his” tree when he reached the familiar landscape. It seemed she intended to stay so the dark lion seriously considered changing his sleeping spot to a less desirable location. He didn’t like drawing attention to himself when he was on a mission but something kept him rooted to the ground as he watched the blue feline’s dripping wet coat.

Perhaps it was because of her natural elegance as she stepped out of the water. Perhaps it was simply the blue pelt would surely give her near perfect camouflage during the night which was something Gebhuza very much appreciated. Perhaps it was because she was simply beautiful as a whole. Either way, the dark lion couldn’t resist moving a little closer, making more noise just to catch her attention. He didn’t wish to startle her and he had the feeling she might’ve sensed his presence already.

“Hello there.” He said in his deep voice as he came out of the tall grasses, stopping before he got too close to her. He waited for her reaction before moving again as it was always hard to know how a stranger would react to his sudden appearance - especially when they of different species.

She turned to him in a slow manner, gold eyes settling on him in that sea of blue. "Hello." Her voice was sweet and bubbly. Her tail swished as she sat up from laying in the sun. Already her pelt was drying from the warm sun. "Spying on me?" She asked.

He was quite beautiful, his black coat with the stripes was stunning and if she looked hard she could see two red dots to mark what seemed to be a face on his flank. This mysterious air about him was interesting, something she wanted to know more about. Curiosity killed the leopardess.

With a flick of her tail she stepped up and circled him, cautious because despite her being slippery he could maim her even kill her. "Such a bad kitty." She teased.

Gebhuza smiled a little, realizing it had been a while since he’d last played this game. Coy glances and flirty words? Yes, he was very much out of practice. That’s why he was pleasantly surprised when she came to him and despite the fact that he didn’t really like being circled by a stranger, Gebhuza had to admit having his body inspected from every possible angle by a female was not exactly unwelcomed.

“Not spying. Admiring the view.” He almost purred, deep red eyes following her every move. “I just wanted to meet the neighbors.”

He watched her in a way that filled her with a warmth, he was intrigued and she was intrigued back. She stepped closer, staying closer to his back so that she'd have time to move should he turn around and on top of that there was a tree she could climb into that he couldn't. With her paw she touched his tail fur gently, feeling its softness.

"Admiring eh? So now you're peeping." the water colored leopardess purred, though she did like the fact he was admiring her. "I don't think I've ever seen you around here. I usually bathe in these waters." Kaveri noted. "Then again you seem like the type to hide and sneak up on those you're admiring." the leopardess teased.

“Admiring… might’ve become peeping but only by a twist of fate.” Gebhuza grinned, his tail twitching playfully in the leopardess’ direction like a whip. “I couldn’t possibly imagine such beauty was a regular here.”

With slow and purposeful steps, the dark lion moved away from the blue feline and towards the water, throwing a few occasional glances back at her. Leaning down, he took a few laps of water before speaking again.

“You can call me Uzi.” It was the closest to his real name as he ever got when dealing with someone outside his pride – and it was usually the he gave to those he liked. “I’m new around these parts. I’ve made my den in the roots of tree nearby. Do you want to go see it?” he had a cheeky grin as he said it but that quickly fell apart as he chuckled. He didn't even think she'd go for that. This was definitely not his usual self.

Her golden eyes were trained on this dark haired beauty. If he was looking she must've been something since most lions didn't look at her. When he took steps away from her the leopardess' heart sunk until he stopped at the water. Again inviting her it seemed as he took drinks from the river.

"Kav." She replied, giving only the first half of her name, she barely knew this male. When she trusted him more, maybe she'd give him the luxury of knowing her full name. "See your den. On a first date I'm not sure that's the sort of thing we should be doing. But I'll bite." Kaveri grinned at him as she lapped up a few drinks herself. Already it was getting hot, "As long as its a bit colder in there than it is out here."

Oh… Gebhuza really hadn’t expected his little tease to work and his expression showed it. Pleasantly surprised, the dark lion stepped closer to the leopardess and proceeded to walk past her. He had already been more than a little too direct and the last thing he wanted was to ruin the possibility of having the pleasure of her company so made sure he wouldn’t touch her unless she were to lean to his side on her own accord.

“But I'll bite."

He almost grinned again, wondering if there was a hidden meaning to her words.

“It’s quite cool in there… most of the time. It’s not that big though... might be a little cramped with the two of us. It’s that way.”

Kaveri could tell she had thrown Uzi for a loop. He probably thought she'd say no and leave but she wanted to know where this could or would go. His direct behavior intrigued her, males were complicated. She smiled and followed after him, not getting to close. Sometimes if you started the affectionate side the males would run and not want commitment.

"I'll like cool." She replied with a purr, putting on a show for him as she walked a bit faster than him to the male's den.

As she moved faster and started walking ahead of him, Gebhuza had to admit the view had gotten considerably better. He found it hard to put that thought into polite words so he just grinned at the ground, his dark mane covering most of his face.

“Have you been alone in the rogue lands for long?” The dark lion was part of a pride that welcomed all kinds of creatures – hybrids included – so it was easy to forget that most leopards were actually solitary creatures. When he spotted “his” tree, Gebhuza brushed against the leopardess’ lightly as he walked past her and with a few quick steps he reached the mouth of the den. “Here we are.” He still wasn’t sure if she was just playing with him but he’d take any reaction in stride. For now, he had to admit this situation was rather exciting.

As he touched her, more of a brush, Kaveri could feel sparks as they disconnected. "I have." She answered, but as they entered she was awestruck at how amazing his den was. "Beautiful." She seated herself close to the entrance, blocking the male, or trying to.

Cocking her head at him, she gave a purr. "How about you?" Now she was giving him the sass, "What do you Uzi?" Already she was curious about this certain male. He lured her in and she took it, playing this game with a lion. Slowly she began to lay down there at the entrance, stretching herself and letting him indulge himself in her. "I'd like to get to know the lion who seems to be throwing me off my paws."

“It serves its purpose.” He chuckled, amused by her reaction to the den.

As she sat down at the entrance - effectively blocking the it - Gebhuza dropped to the ground and rolled on his side as he made himself comfortable in this unusual role of willing prisioner. She was a sight to behold, that much was certain. The beautiful dark leopardess in front of him was framed by the sunlight and he could barely distinguish her features but her bright eyes shone like two tiny suns in an ocean of stripey blue.

“Me? I’m but a wandering rogue. I've travelled the world and I have many stories to tell.” He was trying to keep the lying to a minimum but it was hard when his secretive pride was such a big part of his existence. He would not allow himself to give any information to an outsider but he had to admit he didn’t like lying to Kav. He made himself even more comfortable as he eyed watched the dark beauty with a playful expression. “Would you like to hear some?” He could already imagine a rather pleasant afternoon being spent in her company.

The afternoon would come and go as she sat around to listen to his story. The colder night would dawn upon them and Kaveri would ask to come in a bit more since being at the entrance meant getting the brunt of the cold air. Though to get this close and feel tired she passed out with her head very close to the male. Although she fell asleep late in the night, she had been drawn to his stories.

"Thank you Uzi." Was the last thing she said before she had passed out.
