~@~About The Nursery
The nursery is a large area in the jungle that has been built around to keep the young families safe. This is an area where cubs can be born and take their first steps to learn without worry about the outside world. The nursery, being in the jungle has plenty of tree's to climb and small mammals to chase and catch! There is a stream going through it to allow a source of fresh water without having to leave.
The nursery was set up to keep those young ones safe. It is to allow a safe birthing place for the mothers and somewhere for all the young to play. The pride have always cared about their young and after loosing some in the decision to create a nursery so all the young can be together came into being. This large area was put aside for the safety of the cubs and their parents and so that if anything were to happen again all the young could easily be accounted for.
~@~Who goes in the Nursery? The nursery has separate dens for each family. So say female 1 is pregnant and the Mwani say she is due soon then her and her mate male 1 pick a den, make it their own and settle down to have the cubs. This will then be their home until their cubs are made apprentices at adolescent. If they are likely to be having another litter then they stay otherwise they are free to make a home where ever they like in the pride grounds.
Any pride member can visit the nursery when ever they like.
There are guards who patrol the nursery to make sure no rogues get in.
~@~The Current Situation Currently as the pride is weak and this is starting to be known, the cubs born into the nursery are not allowed out unless with adults in a ratio of 1:3, so one adult to three cubs. Cubs like always are forbidden from any of the pride borders and must be escorted anywhere else. This isn't much different to how things use to be, just cubs can't run off and explore and get lost - they will be found and punished if they do. There are no restrictions on when the parents take their cubs out - they can take out a whole litter between them.
