Four days. It had been four days since Raven had seen Jett, four days since she had seen her friend. She was worried. She couldn’t lie about that. Raven had seen Mary, had spent time with both her and Darwin…but…But Jett. The blonde rested outside of the Virgo outpost, leaning against one of the buildings there, raking her fingers through her long blonde hair. Was it hopeless? Should she just give up? There was no way…No way she would just have horrible luck. She had been to two of the outposts now, leaving only this, and the Chronos one.

She closed, her eyes, recalling the past few days of exploration and searching, letting out an almost heartbroken sigh.

She ventured to the Leo outpost first, thinking that, if Jett had just escaped from the battle, he would have come her…to eat? All boys got hungry a lot, right? Well, she had gotten hungry too. And they had had that reunion there before, so it was a logical place to meet up again. When raven had entered the outpost, she went straight for the kitchen, trying to hide the eager smile that was threatening to take over her face. She knew it, he would be right inside! He was okay, he had to be. He just had to. When Raven rounded the corner, she skidded to a stop, her face falling and shoulders slumping. He wasn’t in here. Well, she still had three more outposts to check, it wasn’t as though…he couldn’t be hiding somewhere else. She had to think of this as a game now. A game of hide and seek. If she didn’t, she might just lose her mind.

Leo had been a complete bust. A complete and utter waste of her time, well, despite for the food, but, even that seemed to be a bit of a waste of time…and not good for her figure. Huh. Raven opened her eyes once more, glancing around. When she got back to Destiny City…Well, if she got back. Would she still want to be on the cheerleading squad? Had this whole ordeal stamped that out of her? Would she dye her hair black and start acting like her parents? Acting like a tragic, tortured poet, reading all sorts of books on Poe, living up to her nickname of, “The Raven?” Speaking of that…

She wondered how her parents were doing. Did they miss her? Were they worried, or…had they given up? Did they still wonder where she went…or did they just think she ran away like she had often mentioned about doing…Boy. She was selfish, wasn’t she…

With another sigh, the blonde just shook her head, wrapping her arms around herself and giving a shiver, thinking back to when she searched at the Aquarius outpost. It was the day after going to Leo, the day after seeing Mary, reuniting with the strange girl. She may be strange, but she was funny, and she was a sweet girl. Raven was lucky to have her as a friend…and maybe that was the only thing that this damn space trip had shown her. She shook her head, giving a tiny smile, before diving into the memory of Aquarius.

She walked up to the outpost, looking around, again, feeling hopeful. Jett and her had shared…a lot here. In the library. That damn, horrible library that had almost cost her, her life…it had been the cause of Jett’s coma…But…But it held such good memories, such fond ones. After the whole salamander incident, and after Jett had woken up…he trained her, made her see…that she had to fight back. And that’s why she was looking for him so carefully, she had to find him. They had to fight together. She had…She had things to tell him. So many things to tell him. So many things to make right. He was such a bother to her. A real thorn in her side. But…he was also the bright spot on the horizon. She had done so much to be noticed by him, so much work to get him to like her. He’d be in there. Reading a stupid book, and she’d punch him, as hard as she could. As hard as he taught her to. Raven nodded to herself then turned the corner to go into the library, a smirk on her face. He wouldn’t call her weak, laugh at her for worrying.

No. He wouldn’t.

He wasn’t there either.
The smirk all but melted off of her face and she just sighed, looking through the many bookshelves, then going so far as to check where all of the beds were set up. She pretty much gave up after finding nothing in those two places, but made her way through the rest of the outpost anyway, just in case.

Raven sighed, shaking her head. Both Leo and Aquarius had been a bust, a complete, awful bust. She had checked there first…because that’s where he would be if he would have been alive, right? Somewhere familiar, somewhere with good memories, so Raven would be able to find him. She was at Virgo now, and really didn’t want to go inside. There were nothing but bad memories here. Why would Jett have wanted to come back? He wasn’t weak. If he had an injury, he would have come, healed then gone somewhere else.

Ah well…she’d have to look. And it was time to just grow a pair and go inside.

First, the infirmary. Raven hesitated, again stopping just outside the door. She half hoped he’d be there, sleeping as he did when he was still in a coma…then she could crawl onto his bed and lay beside him, and it would help her to really relax--she hadn’t been sleeping well since he disappeared. If he wasn’t there…

Well, if he wasn’t there then it was time to start shifting through the rubble to see if he was lying in there dead.
Taking a deep breath, the blonde stepped into the infirmary, her eyes were squeezed shut, and she opened them when she made it inside.

The beds were empty.

That place inside her where her hope was stored was swiftly becoming empty as well.

No, no. Time to keep searching, time to start digging for his body. She made her way up to the room where the giant spider had been, shivering as she looked around. Ah…someone had died here. Raven sighed, once more wrapping her arms tight around herself. Someone had died, and she had watched. She watched the blood pool around the girl, then…watched…her turn…into gold sparkles or something. She sighed heavily, then began poking around the room, disappointed when she found nothing, though, almost expecting those results.

Slowly, the cheerleader made her way back to the infirmary, walking to the bed where Jett had laid during his coma, then curling up at the end of it as she had done while he had been there. She took the pillow from the head of the bed, then just held it close. If he was here…When he got back. She’d tell him. She’d tell him how god damn much she loved him, and that she wanted to be with him. Wanted to just…just be with him.

She wasn’t sure she’d make it through this entire thing alive, but, she knew that she’d keep fighting. Maybe he was at the Chronos outpost…she hadn’t been there yet, and to her knowledge, neither had he, so maybe he was just exploring it or something. Maybe he would be there, and she could tell him, and they could fight together…Fight to get home together.

There was no way he could be dead. Raven just wouldn’t allow it.
