 Yensid felt his jaw quiver as he held back a yawn and struggled to keep his eyes open. He gave himself a shake off and huffed as he managed to wake himself back up. He didn't mind the night shift, it was certainly cooler and sometimes in the early dawn he liked to imagine he could feel the air moisten a bit, but that was probably just wishful thinking. With the drought upon them they had all been thinking of water lately. As the sun started to ride he spotted his relief in the distance and relaxed moving to head back into the prides lands towards his secluded den. He paused in his trek as he spotted a distance figure, he didn't usually run into many others.
He tilted his head and walked a bit closer looking the bright red male over. "Troubles?" He asked a bit curious at the strange expression the other male wore. He usually didn't butt in, but his sleepiness seemed to be blocking his manners. Not to mention he missed out quite a bit by living so isolated, he ought to be more social with his fellow pride members.

 Chamese's eyes looked about until he saw another red male. He knew he was a guard from training, but that was about all he knew. He wanted to be polite but he wasn't sure if it was just a Firekin thing to be rude, at least he assumed that about the females- he hadn't met a male yet. "Well yea there is..." He took a long sigh and confided in the older male. Surely he would know something about the woman here. Some kind of key that obviously hadn't connected in his mind. "Not to sound offensive...but the women here- they are different. I just offered to help this one poor lady out and I nearly get my face ripped off. I don't get it...I was being polite." He then quirked his head. "Also it seamed to infuriate her that I assumed she was weak because she was a female..."

Yensid was a bit surprised, he hadn't meant to actually engage the male in some kind of emotional conversation. Though what he said made his mouth quirk up in a grin and then he laughed, outright. The laughter lasted a few moments more before he coughed and looked up with a snort.
"You are certainly new...but don't worry you'll get it. You want some advice friend? Actually come over here and we'll have a little spar while I explain things to you. Name is Yensid-Su, but call me Yensid."
He walked a few paces away before turning back to the male and crouching a bit his muscles rippling as his body fell into a defensive posture. This would wake him up a bit...just in time to go back to his den and sleep.

He nodded his head. "Oh yes. I certainly don't want to be offending every lioness in the pride!" He was rather confused why the male had laughed so hard. Perhaps he wasn't the only male to have women troubles here. Oh god he really hoped all the lionesses weren't like that assuming from the laughter. He gulped at the thought.
"I'm Chamese." He tipped his head into a friendly nod. "Sparing sounds nice. Just don't go to hard that lioness gave me a few good knocks today." He rubbed his shoulder with his undamaged paw.
He then lunged forward with his paws outstretched towards the males face, but when he was less then an inch away dropped to all fours and stopped his attack. It was only a spar after all no need to get serious.

Yensid watched as the male stopped short a bit surprised, his body had jerked a bit reflexively. He slowly moved in a circle looking for an opening, but then got distracted as he started giving his advice.
"These lands aren't easy, and they don't exactly make for soft lions either. I'm sure that female was insulted that you thought her weak just because she was a female. The truth is our females are tougher then some of our males!"

Chamese backed up as he began listening and completely forgot about the duel himself. "How different?" He looked at him intently listening to him. "Because I was taught so many things I don't believe hold even the slightest ounce of truth anymore...like females being weak." He rolled his shoulder compulsively during the conversation.
"So offering help to ladies here is a bad thing? What do I offer them then to get them to like- or not kill me..." He then thought back to the unnamed lioness. "And would you happen to know the best way to make up with an angry lioness. Because I found this female umm quite attractive...but well- she's the reason I'm asking you this all in the first place."

Yensid moved in to attack at the other males flank but was halted again by his laughter. Oh the poor guy, he had no idea, he'd probably offended some warrior with his talk of protecting the weaker sex.
"You should challenge her to a duel, or offer to spar with her, and apologize for being so thick headed." He smirked and started to circle again.
"You can't treat a lady any differently...except maybe to be more cautious, out here every desert bloom has long sharp thorns."

He shifted on his paws excepting an attack but instead heard roaring laughing. Oh god was he that bad with ladies in this pride? "Ok so no talking about protecting them. Got it. I guess treat them like men?" Although in his mind that sounded offensive. Men were rather dirty and smelly, not something he'd ever categorize for a lady. God this was getting more complicated then he thought it would be. Dueling and Sparing were easy. Dealing with Manly Women? Oh god what had he gotten himself into.
"So what if I let said lioness beat me in a duel? You think it would make up for the offensiveness? Or would she be more offended that I let her win?" He took a long pause. "You also wouldn't happen to know the name of this desert 'bloom' I'm chasing after would you?"

Yensid moved in to strike his paw lifting before he paused suddenly startled by the other males words.
"A firekin NEVER let's someone win! You always give it your all and know that win or lose you both walked away with something. If your going to live here it's important to know that!"
He found himself moving to regain his balance after that faulty move.

"So she would actually be happy if I beat her?" Which seamed confusing because the lioness wanted to win against him more then ever. But hey if that was how the pride rolled- he'd give it a shot. Worse comes to worse he'd come back for more Firekin female 101 if he screwed up again. He took a stride forward to attack the other male by missed because he became preoccupied with the unanswered question.
"So, do you happen to know her name?" He pestered once again.

He moved in again looking for the opening he needed.
"I don't know what does she look like?"
He pounced then moving to try a tackle against the other male.

He rolled backwards onto the ground. There had been so much talk about man ladies that he nearly forgot what he was doing in the first place. He went to swipe a paw at his face but the males question seamed to make him even lapse that he was on his back in the sand.
"Well she's quite pretty. Grey with red tribal marking...And she has extra sharp claws on one side. And a bird that fly's around with her. Looks like a chicken color-wise. You can't miss her markings though- they are something else." He grinned stupidly. "Do you know her?"

Yensid was a bit surprised by how easy the tackle was to accomplish. Then again they were both pretty focused on the conversation at hand. He moved off the other male with a final failed swipe at him.
"Nope doesn't ring a bell, but I patrol pretty late and don't see a lot of the pride members. Look just find her and have a duel, but try and treat it as a..a dance of sorts, battles happen everywhere all the time."

"Thats too bad, because she won't tell me her name. But I will take your advice and try to NOT piss the poor girl off." Or poor man-woman? He really wasn't sure what he was going to call them in his own head. "Another duel it is. And if I fail..." He snorted a laugh. "I will be back for more advice on Firekin girls- because I still don't have a clue."

Yensid chuckled and nodded finally giving in to his yawn and stretching. Well so much for their sparring it had been a bit lackluster, but he was too tired to continue.
"I wish you luck, come tell me how it went."
He moved with a grin towards his den, he needed to find himself some interesting female companionship.
