Eliza stood in a something she found in Virgo's outpost. It was the first time she had adorned anything that wasn't from Leo's outpost, but she had been their to recuperate from the battle with the spider. It was a startling reality at how close she had come to possibly loosing her life, still it hadn't dampened her spirits to much. In the end a new magical person had come about and that was something wasn't it.

She stood in the simple dress, barefoot as always, hair brushed which was unusual, but her soft waves seemed more fitting to the dress. So now her hair tumbled over her shoulder and down her back in waves, she knew it wouldn't last, but it didn't matter to her.

She walked up to the tree that seemed like it was yielding to the beginning of fall and tied a standing on her tippy toes she attempted to tie a ribbon she found to it. The ribbon was for Hawke who had been killed by the youma spider thing.

She sighed, "you didn't deserve your fate," she whispered.

Before, when it had been time to avoid work, Veer had hauled himself out to the surrounding and found some alone time -- in the woods, or the pools. Now, however, after the spider attack, he was less willing to put himself too far from other people, and was faced with the difficult prospect of how one hides within the reach of possible aid. He needed somewhere he could look out, while other people had difficulty finding him unless announced.

The tree had been a good decision, he thought, if a bit...well. Disrespectful. But Veer'd done a good number of disrespectful things in his days here, and this one probably wouldn't be the one that finally broke him down.

He hadn't gotten high. Veer had neither the upper body strength nor the lung capacity to spend a while hauling himself high into the branches. Instead he'd settled fairly lowly, sprawled out across the heavy wood, face hidden behind a mass of leaves. At the sound from below, he reached out one hand to push them out of the way and peered down at the girl.

Not a senshi. Not a spider. Not a whatever-that-weird-kid had been. Veer made a faintly derisive noise, waiting a moment before he spoke. "...ribbon? Seriously?"

Eliza looked up at the snort and frowned at the other's words. "Is there something wrong with my ribbon. Its not as if I have something else to give. We are after all in space."

She looked to the boy sporting red hair and sighed, "what happened was terrible. I did not ever know the girl, but she shouldn't be forgotten, right? There is no pretending like it did not happen when it did."

She peered more closely tree, but couldn't really see the other well, so she jumped grabbing the branch, swinging her legs up to wrap around and flashing the whole world. She however took no heed to this and hoisted herself easily into the tree, into the other person space, sitting on the branch legs dangling on either side.

She looked more closely at the other, "you were there too, weren't you?" Could be that she was wrong, but either way she'd soon find out.

"Yeah, but you don't see me tying s**t ribbons around random trees in effigy." Veer reeled back as she leaned in, his expression sharpening toward frustration at just how easily she'd hauled himself up. Of course Eliza wouldn't know that it had taken him a good twenty minutes and one scraped arm to work his way onto the branch, and that it was entirely likely it'd take him just as long to get down, if he chose to -- but still. He knew. And he knew he'd been shown up by a girl.

Damnit.

He crossed arms over his chest, eyes narrowed as he stared at her, lank hair tumbling forward into his face. "Probably because it's ******** useless. What, is it a magic ribbon? Is it going to magically bring dead people to life? Does it keep spiders away?"

Eliza couldn't help, but to frown her face up at the cursing that exited the boys mouth, but she did not comment. Instead she sighed and leaned back against the tree her arms folded over her chest.

"You angry and really you have every right to be. As much as I would really love for the ribbon to be magic or for it to bring that girl, Hawke, I think it was back it is just a ribbon, a plain ribbon."

She arched an eyebrow at him, "I was trying it to the tree for remembrance as I do not think we are allowed back into that room and I'm do not really wish to go up there again anyway. Not just yet that is."

Eliza studied Veer for a moment, "what would you have me do, since it is so useless. I was under the impression it might be the thought that counts, dear sir."

"That's the stupidest sentiment of them all. 'It's the thought that counts'. Who's it count for, then, huh? I mean, dead people don't exactly have feelings about things." He leaned in slowly, his tone going overly serious, decisively condescending. Veer was making fun of her with two simple words, eyebrows raising slowly. "They're dead."

Eliza gave an odd grin, "How would you know huh? How dead people feel that is? Have you ever died? Guess you don't believe and ghost or any such thing, not that I do, but anything seems possible in this place."

Eliza leaned forward invading his personal spacing and messing his hair. "Why are you so defensive. Lighten up. I was trying to do something nice and its like your ... whats the word ... berating me for it. It's odd." Eliza really did not get it, why he was being mean or that he was making fun of her.

She leaned back managing to catch a leaf in her own hair, but taking no real heed to the fact. She probably have bunched of them in her hair by the time she left out and she wouldn't even attempt to remove them.

"Let's play a game," she said abruptly changing the topic of conversation.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 09, 2011 7:55 pm

"Let's not." Veer's reply came with a scowl, a hand lifting to fix his hair -- which, to be fair, was still a mess after he was done scraping fingers through it. Without a liberal amount of very strong hairspray, his hair always had a limp, collapsed look to it, the mohawk tumbling down into his eyes. All the same, that didn't mean she had a right to touch it, or to mess with it, or to get so damned close. Next time, he might shove, never mind the prospective fall.

Thinking of that, his attention turned down to consider the ground below. Maybe he could just throw himself out. He'd probably survive. It might be worth it.

Eliza gave a pout shaking head slightly, "oh," she said in a very childlike manner, "why not? It will be fun."

She swung her leg over the branch and made sure the dress was tucked under before falling backward, looking very much like she would fall out of the tree, but instead hanging from her knees and swinging back and forth.

"You can tell me, you've grown completely out of play and fun things? How old are you anyway," probably a strange question to ask considering Eliza herself was very much the over grown child with an over active imagination.

She stretched out looking at the ribbon she tied for Hawke and smiling. Even if Veer didn't like the idea it made Eliza happy and she bet wherever the girl was it made her happy too. Eliza did not think their was anything wrong or odd with what she did and she thought it was probably best not to think of Veers opinion much like the opinions of many people she met. Mostly crystal girsl.

She dropped backwards -- and Veer bit down on a sound, leaning forward just a little as if he actually cared. He'd have denied it, of course. He didn't care. He just didn't want to be held responsible for some dumb girl plummeting head-first to her death,t that was all.

Once the initial reaction passed, he seethed, as if she'd deliberately tricked him into doing that.

"I play. I have fun. I just seriously doubt that the game you're going to suggest is going to be fun." He wiggled fingers in her direction, pointedly sitting back instead of craning his head to stare down at her.

"I'm betting it's like ******** M*A*S*H or something."

Eliza leaned grabbing on the branch and hanging very awkwardly. She gave him an extremely confused looked before saying plainly, "I do not know what M.A.S.H. is and if you have an idea for a game to play I would be more that happy to try it out."

She wiggled her way back onto the branch and gave him a critical stare, "M.A.S.H cannot be all that bad. I mean it is after all a game even if its silly. It will pass the time. What is it? Maybe I can find someone to teach me to play sometime."

She gave a smirking grin and leaned in slightly, "well," she said, "let hear it?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 14, 2011 8:07 am

"As I'm not a fourteen year old girl, I've got no ******** clue how you play it." His emphasis was in the wrong place -- clearly setting himself apart from her who, well, he thought just might be 14. 14 and annoying, if you took in his expression. Again, he peered off the branch, trying to decide if he could get down without accidentally killing himself.

"What, were you homeschooled or some bullshit like that?" He waved her off, delicately turning on the branch and -- then chickening out. No. veer was worried he'd hurt himself. "Or did you just have no friends?"

Eliza frowned, really and truly frowned. It seemed this boy was like them, one of them. She couldn't help, but to look at him and shake her head.

"Yes, I was homeschooled," she said slightly irritated with the way he asked the question, "I happen to have had a very good education." Irritation rolled off of her and she huffed her cheeks puffing out slightly, making her look even younger and more childish that she currently appeared.

She stood on the branch with ease, no fear of heights of any such thing and looked down for a moment. "I wish Fritz was here ...," she mumbled before jumping from the tree and landing with ease near the base.

She looked at him and gave a bright smile still, "Guess that means you don't want to race to those cools rooms. They've got treasure and weapons, its really cool. It's okay though, you're resting right, probably couldn't keep up, huh?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 16, 2011 1:37 pm

"Does that like. Work on anyone?" He raised an eyebrow at her, watching her jump off the tree -- showing no real signs of moving to follow. Veer didn't need to prove anything to a stupid girl. Not at all. He waved her off, yawning huge and meaningfully as he did.

"I don't run. And I've seen it already, anyway. You go entertain yourself." His tone was still mean, mocking, watching her through slitted eyes. "Maybe there'll be something shiny to distract you."

Eliza just grinned not entirely sure exactly which statement he was referring to. If he meant her challenge boys, she wasn't sure, she hadn't actually met many boys. Quite frankly she could probably count on two hands how many boys she had talked to in her life. Either way it did work, at least on overly competitive 15 year old girls.

The words suit yourself lay on the tip of her tongue, but they never made it out as her face fell at his last comment. Naive and sheltered yeah, but that statement sort of compared her to a goldfish or something.

"Really you attitude is appalling. I was trying to be nice, lighten the mood, have a little fun. You should really try it sometime. It works wonders for that little personality flaw you have."

Switch flipped, she was grinning again, "anyway I'll see you around." She ran off quite quickly, but she was after all a wild child.
