Gilbert had been in space a while. That was annoying.
Gilbert's pants were fitting a little tighter. That was really annoying.
All of this investigative work without the regular use of his gym facilities had probably earned him about five extra pounds. ********, if people would stop baking brownies and bringing cheeseburgers into space he wouldn't have this problem, he thought with some annoyance, adjusting the waistband of the gym shorts he had nicked from one of the senshi. A blue-haired girl, kind of lippy, but generally pretty helpful -- she'd given him a once over, decided he was about her dad's size, and next time they'd run into each other she'd passed off some work-out clothes. They weren't an exact fit, and they were actually still kind of small, but he was comforting himself with the fact that her dad was probably some kind of office lackey and had no real muscle tone.
Nope, wasn't because he was getting fat.
Expression grim, he began to stretch, fully intending to run around the inside gates of the Leo Outpost until he either passed out or sweated away the extra weight he'd gained. It'd be nice to have a running partner, especially in light of all the weird s**t that had been going down, but he was confident that he'd be fine by himself if it came down to it. He was fit (except for those damn extra pounds) and a fast runner, and his usual gym routine ensured that he could probably sprint for a good distance before he collapsed from exhaustion or something. Anyway, he was pretty sure he was going to be fine.
The five(ish?) pounds weren't really that big of a deal, but it was the principle of the thing. Maybe he was just imagining his pants fitting tighter, he didn't know. But he did know he'd been eating like s**t and not exercising, so it was time to put a stop to that.

On the flipside, Joshua Harvey was a 16 years old teenage boy, with about all that came with it - including, apparently, the ability to eat practically anything and not gain an ounce.
Ah, youth.
But at the same time, there was little to be jealous over - Joshua was lanky in a way that pretty much screamed 'HI, I AM A NERD' for the whole world to see.
Which wasn't to say trying to fit him in a locker was a good idea. A bunch of kids back in Vancouver had figured that in a pretty nasty way.
As it was, the black-haired teen was hammering away at a chair when he caught sight of Gilbert stretching. Uh. Come to think of it, he remembered him... Not an hard feat, really, since the man was probably one of the oldest of those who had ended up plucked in space.
"Hey !" He called out with a wave.

Though Gilbert was in the process of stretching out his back, it was no real feat to turn and see who was talking to him, though, while he continued to do so; hands on his hips, he leaned back, eyebrows up when there was a chorus of popping noises.
Yeah, he was due for a massage or something. His back was stiff as hell.
Expression relaxing into a smile, he dropped his hands from his hips and lifted one, a lazy wave acknowledging Josh's greeting. "Hey."
When they were within a close enough distance to speak without shouting, Gilbert resumed his stretching, this time focusing on his calves. "How're you doing? Ugh, I feel like an old man," he added, expression wry as he straightened.
He could remember being this kid's age, and he could also remember nothing sticking to him except muscle tone. Goddamn. To be young again.
Jerking his thumb over his shoulder, he said affably, "I'm going for a run. Want to come along?" Safety in numbers and all that. Plus, he might have wanted to prove to himself that he could outstrip a kid. (At least keep up with a kid.)

"Well, whatever wacko occurrence that brought us up here seemed to prefer teenagers." Seriously. He hadn't stopped to ponder it too much beyond the obvious.
This whole s**t made his head hurt, really.
...That offer sounded suspiciously like a challenge. Who was he to back down from a challenge. "Sure - I was about done with this chair anyway... Could use some fresh air." All that dust, seriously.

Gilbert smiled again, pleased to have some company. His goal was to run around the entire outpost, but glancing around, he figured he was either overestimating his abilities or underestimating the sheer size of the place. The building (castle?) itself was huge enough that just running around that thing would have given him more than enough work-out, and there were... training grounds, and something that looked like a coliseum behind it... It was big. Really big. He probably wasn't going to make it all the way around. But, well, he'd have a good time trying.
Finishing up his stretches, he began to jog in place, appreciating the warmth that was spreading through his body. Yeah, it had been far too long since he'd had any appreciable exercise.
"Want to warm up, or hop right to it?" He tilted his head, expression harmless, but he wondered. When he'd been a teenager, had he just jumped into things? He couldn't recall. Good way to get yourself hurt, and so he offered, after a moment, "Might want to stretch out a little bit at least. I'm going to try to run around this whole thing."
Alternate between running and fast walking, probably, but the intent was there.

Around the whole damn thing ? Damn.
But Josh didn't back down so easily. He probably wouldn't have bothered to warm up normally, but if Gilbert was really that serious about running the whole damn thing...
Yeah, he started stretching, too. Last thing he needed was to ******** up a muscle, even if he could have just healed in Virgo - there were rumors of monsters and people vanishing, after all.
Being holed up seemed to have worked for him rather than against him for once.
He probably wasn't even doing it all that well, but at least it was better than nothing. "What's your name again ? Pretty sure you told me but... Giant whales. Bats. You know, all that stuff."
Pretty damn distracting.

"Gilbert," he said, continuing to jog in place. "Gilbert Hennessy. And you are?"
Once Josh had introduced himself, they began to run, Gilbert setting an even pace to start with. He didn't know how long they'd be going, reasonably, so it made more sense to start out easy and then push the limits as he went along.
Running made conversation a little difficult, but he kept his breathing even as he asked, "So how are things? Everyone seem to be doing all right, all things considered?"

"Joshua Harvey." He offered. He'd heard whispers of another Joshua stuck in here - which was amusing as hell, really, because what were the odds on that ? But also a little confusing.
"Well enough, though I've heard rumors of more attacks." He said, eyes narrowing a bit in worry. "Just haven't been involved in any of them, thankfully."

Gilbert had been hearing of more attacks too, and that was unsettling. Enough so that it made him frown, gaze going a little distant as he finished his stretches. Just what exactly was attacking them, no one seemed to know, and that made his faith in the senshi protecting them shake a little. Sure, they were doing the best they could, but if they couldn't even identify their attacker..
Well, it didn't bode well for them long term.
Still, no need to get uneasy and let that attitude spread. He smiled at Joshua, jerking a thumb over his shoulder. "Ready to go?" he asked, pleasantly.

Joshua seemed perfectly willing to let the matter go, really - finishing up his own stretching soon enough.
Still, the whole damn outpost... If he even got halfway he'd be proud of himself, really... But he wasn't about to actually say that.
Pride and teenage ego was on the line, after all.
"Ready whenever." He grinned.
