For all the shaking and shuddering and squawking he had done during the spider-youma attack, Darwin seemed to recover remarkably fast. Once he did recover, the little gears in his mind had begun to turn furiously, which didn't mean anything good.
Thus far, every attack he'd heard about or had the misfortune of being in had been a surprise attack. Well, at least an unexpected attack. Darwin decided that this meant people needed to go on the offensive. Not sure if he trusted the not-aliens, especially considering that their condition was seemingly contagious, Darwin decided that he had to take the initiative.
That's how Darwin ended up in the Chronos outpost, snooping around in the garden, waving a bag of trail mix in front of him.
" Here squirrely squirrely squirrely. Here hopefully-not-giant-radioactive-mutant-space-squirrel. Here squirrely..."
Well, what did you expect Darwin to be looking for? He was an expert on squirrels, so it only made sense that that's what he'd be hunting! And he was well-prepared too: two socks were clutched in his hand, hidden behind his back.

Joshua had followed one black-clad senshi (with wings on his a**... seriously ? What was even the eff ?) to Chronos' outpost, looking for - what else ? - things he might be able to fix. It was practically his sole hobby up in space, but really, it wasn't that different from the usual, only now instead of taking things like electronics and robots apart and pulling them back together again, he was hammering legs on beds and armrests on chairs.
A true man of the craft would probably have shuddered, but really, only one thing counted for Josh - things were working and not falling apart.
Beauty weren't really important, not in this case.
He'd stopped by the gardens for a breather, and that was when he caught sight of... well.
Darwin.
"...I don't think space has squirrels." What the eff ?

Darwin heard someone speaking to him and for a moment he felt hopeful, thinking he had his first recruit, but then he quickly realized it was just another doubter. Lifting his head, he gave the other male a look as if to say "O RLY?"
" You sure? Whales and bats, but no squirrels?"
Shaking his head sadly, Darwin returned to scanning the ground, looking for any signs of his furry nemesis.
" Besides, if any creature could find a way to space, it's squirrels. They're crafty little devils."

Maia had made her way to the Chronos outpost to find out about this gift room she had heard about, instead she found herself walking toward two civilians with a very curious expression on her face.
She frowned hearing what they were discussing, "You are right their shouldn't be any squirrels here, but at the same time their is a lot we do not know about space. I would thing that if their are whales and bats, um attacking people you would not want to go looking for such things."
Her hands were on her hips and the red headed girl was frowning. Dangerous things were happening on the surrounding and she did not want any one else to get hurt or go missing.
"Do you even know how to fight if one was to come about and was not friendly?"

...Well, put that way...
He kind of wanted to argue that a squirrel wasn't the most threatening thing ever, but come to think of it a whale wasn't either... in theory.
And look what had happened. The mention of bats had an involuntary shudder come out of Joshua. Damn thing had broken his arm.
"But then why the hell go out of your way to look for one ?" ...Seriously.
The red-head senshi seemed to hold a similar point of view - he remembered seeing her, but couldn't recall her name. "...Well, I have a hammer..." And a screwdriver. And nails.
...Hammer was probably the best bet.

Grant noticed the young man trying to find a squirrel, but wasn't about to tell him that there were probably no squirrels in space. What did he know? Maybe there were! It was not something Grant was in position to be definitive about, and he certainly did not want to crush the hopes of someone looking for them so enthusiastically.
He was making his way over to express his interest in this hunt, and compliment the charming way to pass some time, but someone beat him there and pointed out exactly the thing he hadn't wanted to.
Well, maybe they were right, too. It was a bit of a long shot that squirrels were in space, even if there was this whole world. Grant looked at the two as the exchange continued. He hadn't chimed in yet, just standing nearby with a smile on his face, listening.
Sometimes he didn't notice how creepy he could be. Or rather, all the times he was creepy, which was sometimes, he didn't notice.
Another good point. There had already been a lot of other space animals.
And now a pretty young lady arrived, one of the senshi, he had learned. He smiled at her.
"Do you think they would be unfriendly? Your dress is very pretty." Not exactly related thoughts, but he often dropped compliments randomly into his conversation. He looked at the other two. "I think they're both strong looking, and certainly capable. But I don't think anyone looks like something a squirrel would want to attack. I would love to help look for one!"
Because that sounded like what they were deciding to do, and that was what he wanted to help with, if they needed it.

Molly had slept through everything. Those annoying people who were helping her, had put her to sleep. All there yapping about how they where good and stuff, but in reality, well her reality, they where just annoying. She didn't know what was going on really, she had slept through everything that happen in the past few....well she wasn't sure because she wasn't how long she had slept. One thing she knew was that she was fully healed, which was just great. No more crawling or limping on her leg. She was back in business and she wanted to get the hell out of this hell hole so she deiced to move to a different place.
She had walked a lot, past tons of different looking things but none had catch her fancy. She wasn't into eating at kitchen, she had notice along her walk, she wanted a place where she could relax. A nice patch of grass to lay in and work on a new cheerleading routine. That's right, even in space she was still worrying about cheerleading and as she walk she had found one...but she was just a little too late it seem. People where already there and one was even talking to a squirrel? Man these people here were really nuts. She looked around and frown, "Why are we talking to animals?" she question.

It was a not-alien, a butt-winged not-alien. Darwin inched away from her in what he thought was a stealthy manner before answering.
" Of course! I've got socks. Everyone knows you use socks for squirrels." Except apparently everyone didn't. " It's all over the Internet. Don't you not-aliens have Internet?"
Well, maybe the Internet didn't work in space, but he'd heard these aliens say that they weren't aliens, ergo they should be familiar with the Internet, so hah!
" Well, instead of being surprised, for once I'd like to be the one to surprise them. Get an attack advantage."
Oh good, help! Strength in numbers went the saying, so the more the better. It'd be at least a double-battle against whatever squirrel might dare show its pointy little face.
" The more the merrier! Join the hunt!"
The other newcomer seemed familiar, but Darwin couldn't place her. Maybe he'd seen her at Virgo? Or during the space whale attack? He saw lots of people at both.
" Not talking to animals, looking for them. Space squirrels, specifically."

Maia shook her head at the boy, frowning at his lack of real logic. It was good not to want to be surprised, but it was not good to go look for something that would likely try to kill you if you found it.
"There isn't suppose to be any life forms here, as far as I know. It's the same with my planet, so I going to go out on a limb and say anything you might find will be potential harmful."
She looked to the guy that have her a compliment and smiled, "Thank you. And since people are being attacked I am going to have to assume yes they would be unfriendly. I can't say for certain, this is not after all where I belong."
She laughed lightly at his next statement and decided she need to make them see reason, before things got out of hand, but with each voice it seemed she would be going on a youma hunt.
"This is not wise, but I could only stop one of you at a time and that wouldn't bode well for anyone, so tell me this. Everyone who hasn't already said so, do you have something you can protect yourself with."

Grant considered Maia's question, scratching his head thoughtfully as he did so. It was clear he was thinking about it, as he rarely had the ability to hide his thoughts and feelings from his face. He was still smiling, though, and it split into a sheepish grin.
He didn't think good manners and an enthusiasm for staying alive were much by way of protection.
"I don't have anything, miss," he said honestly, nodding his head. "But I can get something. Would you like anything? Or anyone else, since I'm going? I can pick up snacks or water, too. Or..." he would just be going on and on if no one stopped him, offering anything he could think of by way of helping them.
He looked around expectantly, always the eager beaver when it came to being given errands to run. He would have made a good secretary or office gopher, really, as he would gladly do every job assigned to him, no matter how menial, and thank them for giving it to him.
though he was rolling along with what was happening around him, it didn't actually occur to him that space squirrel could equal the same thing as space bats and space whales. All the talk about surprise attacks and being armed might have given it away, but Grant was perfectly oblivious in his happy little world of offering his services and helping people enjoy themselves. It would catch up to him eventually.

...Yeah, it kinda looked like he was the only one that came in as even remotely prepared. Even if it wasn't planned - he just carried his makeshift, once-upon-a-time-I-was-a-jacket toolbelt everywhere with him.
His poor jacket. It would probably be sorely missed once he went back to earth.
It was pretty worrying through, all the things he'd heard. "Why are those things so intent on attacking, anyway... ?" He asked, tilting his head to the side to look at Maia - the one he expected might have an answer out of them all. "I mean, I get that we're not supposed to be there and the monsters might be pissy about it, but it's not like we go out of our way to bother them..."
Or so he thought.

Molly had seen that guy who talk back to her before. She could swear it, but who knows she meet a lot of people. Some she would really like to forget. She looked around saw another funny dressed person. She turn to her and frown. "Well if you guys are trying to save us why would there be harmful animal here on your planet?" she said putting her hands on her hips.
Really she was getting sick of this. All of this actually. She couldn't understand why animals where attacking her when this place is for the "good guys."

Maia frowned at being bombarded with questions, most of which she had no reals answers for which made her feel wholly inadequate. She looked to Grant first who was offering to go get things for them to protect themselves with, but she shook her head motioning for him to stop. She doubted they would find this squirrel that wasn't even suppose to be there and she did not want him going off alone.
"Ahh ...," she stumbled on her words, "wait for someone to go with you. You shouldn't go alone."
She looked to Joshua and then to Molly, "well to be honest I am not really sure. The space creatures may simply not be use to our presence or they may be angry for some other reason. There is really now telling. I cannot say for certain. I am Sailor Maia and Maia is my star so it is really the only star or planet, as my star has a planet Maia, I can speak for. I can say their isnt anything on my planet but singing trees and lots of plants, otherwise it is void of life."
She sighed rubbing her forehead, "I'm sorry I can't give you the answers you want to hear. This place isnt mine and I'm do not think it is even a planet so I'm a little lost too. I do know everyone is trying to find a way to get you home and we will continue carting back supplies as long as you remain here and protecting you if you need it."
Maia continued to frowned frustrated at the lack of information she had to give and not really knowing how much she could tell the civilians anyway, even if she knew more.

Grant quickly nodded his head. Of course, she was right. He could get himself hurt or lost and he certainly didn't want to hold up the whole expedition by doing something silly like that. No, he would have someone come with him.
If they wanted to. He wouldn't force them.
He listened politely as she spoke about space creatures and their ability to attack people. If they existed at all. Those bats and that whale had certainly been real enough. Or very well made. He nodded along, not interrupting.
She had a planet? That was amazing! She must have been a great person, to deserve a whole planet. Was that how it worked? He imagined so. Weren't these different Outposts named after the different senshi helping them here? And they were all great people. Clearly, the two things were tied together.
"Well, that's good!" He chimed supportively, "it's very nice of you all to be working so hard on our behalves, and I'm sure everyone appreciates it as much as I do. Though, I don't like talking for other people. Still!"
He still didn't seem too fussed by the idea that there might be creatures lurking out there that wanted to hurt him. There were so many other good things to focus on.

This not-alien didn't seem to bright. Socks were super-effective against squirrels. Besides, he'd rather bet on socks then feathers, which he could've sworn he saw one of the not-aliens fighting the spider-youma with. Still, best to make her happy lest she infect him, so Darwin reached down, grabbed some rocks, and stuffed them in the socks.
" There. Rock socks."
One of the other males said he was weaponless, and even Darwin had to admit that it wasn't a good idea to hunt space critters without a weapon, so he gallantly thrust a sock in Grant's direction.
" Here, you can have a sock."
