Personally, I do not have plans for Halloween proper, but am set to attend a zombie walk again this year. I'm thinking that this year I might try to do some better makeup, but since I haven't been able to find any costume supplies for making the gory prosthetics I wanted to try my hand at, I'm probably going to try to go for a pale, risen corpse look instead. I'm thinking I should head to the hospital and see if I can't score a patient's gown, and then make myself up a morgue toe tag. xd ...the upside with this costume is that since the weather will probably be decently chilly by the time the walk takes place, and since I'll be wearing little more than a hospital gown outside in it, it won't take a lot of makeup to get the deathly pale effect I want, lol.
If I can get anything lined up for Halloween (which I am doubtful about) then I can always just reuse the costume. Or at least the makeup, and maybe dress up in a suit, since they should be done with me at the morgue by then and have me ready for burial xp

Dude, get The Walking Dead DVD....solely for their epic zombie-fication tutorial in the extra features! It was mostly household crap to use, but I honestly can't remember it all right now, lol.
I want to dress up but it's a work day so I'm not really sure what to do. I was thinking put feelers out for what is acceptable (we're business casual but you never know - disapproval is kind of silent mostly), or just wear a halloween pin. I was thinking though to do something cheap and easy, like dressing up as Meg White from the White Stripes. Basically just white pants and red shirt, with some drum sticks, lol.

Crit, some thrift stores have scrubs wink
Isa, can you wear ears or things like that at work?
Sprout will either be a sheep (B found the cutest fuzzy sheep sleeper) or a black cat. I plan to go with a black cat look as it is easy and cheap. No it's not very original but my mind is elsewhere this year 3nodding

I just need a good enough excuse. Which Halloween should well be, but again I don't imagine I'll be able to make any actual going out plans in this town. If you need a ride to the zombie walk at all, let me know and I can totally pick you up 3nodding And I agree, pictures are a thing that should definitely happen!

I've got little skull and crossbone earrings for work, but I know one of the ultrasound techs wore a headband with devil horns and had a little red pitchfork near her workstation last year. Little things are acceptable, adornments mostly.

I worked together a Bajoran earring for myself though despite numerous searches online it seems impossible to find a DECENT nose prosthetic. I was thinking of trying my hand at making one out of that coloured plasticine you bake, but since it darkens in the toaster oven when it hardens it'd be difficult to get my skin tone right, not to mention if it's too heavy whatever adhesive I use could fail. Running out of time to get it done though, and at the minute I don't have a shift on the 31st, nor any party to attend, so I suppose it doesn't really matter.
At least this year since I don't live in the woods (which I do miss) I can decorate my balcony and windows to be in the spirit of things, though still no trick-or-treaters in apartments. (Though we have a small handful of candy, just in case someone does)

I haven't a single clue yet of what to do. It depends on my work schedule lol. But I do have a gladiator outfit that I bought last year but didn't wear because I couldn't make up my mind (I ended up buying a fairy outfit that light up).

So I went to the zombie walk, and it was totally ok I guess! Pictures! Makeup fail! I had so much white makeup on, and I ended up looking just kind of normal. Curse my ginger tan, unnoticeable as it is to almost everyone! I also spent quite a bit of time shading under my eyes and the other low-lights of my face, but I had shadows on my face while doing it 'cause of the nature of the lighting in my bathroom, and it looked darker to me than it ended up appearing outside. I was trying to keep from crossing the line and looking really cheesy, but I sold myself way short. Everyone who was wearing more makeup looked a lot better. Other zombies! I didn't see anyone I was expecting to run into there, outside of the group I went with. Pixie! Where were you! Decided to wear my toe tag around my ankle, figuring it wouldn't get in the way as much. Ended up not being nearly noticeable or recognizable enough, and I had to explain myself to a lot of people. In hind sight, why the hell didn't I fix it part way through the walk? I guess I kept figuring it was good enough, and it's not until seeing it from this different perspective now that I understand how poorly it worked that way. What a family friendly event! I thought the plan this year was to end at a pub for food/drinks/meet and greet with the rest of the hoard. Apparently it wasn't! I ended up going out in Kitimat the same night to make up for that rather unhappy turn of events, and had the usual somewhere-south-of-mediocre time that a night out in Kitimat usually entails. Erry dayum shufflin! 3nodding Shufflin, shufflin! More other zombies! I just grabbed the pictures I was in from the facebook page for the event. There's supposed to be a couple videos going up soon, once they're done being edited, and I can link those as well! Guy at the very bottom of this one was also from Kitimat, and I ran into him at the bar. Decent fellow, I ended up buying him a shot. Well, I ended up buying a round of shots, and someone from our group disappeared for long enough that his shot was forfeit to this guy. I'm as generous as I am cheap and impatient! mad xd Cute zombies! I will start up a conversation with them: "Hey, great costume, awesome job on your makeup!" Work my way up to asking what they're up to afterwards, since the pub crawl I'd heard about apparently wasn't on. We could start one up anyway! ...Before I got quite that far though, the guy running the walk this year, Danny Nunes dressed as Freddy Kreuger, came up and had a similar idea, except he was harassing them much more creepily, for a laugh on his video. I can screw up my opportunities just fine on my own, a*****e! Whatever, I'll just not vote him for mayor mad The Thriller dance at the end was really entertaining, and though I complain about it not turning out to be quite as I expected, I did get to walk around town in barely more than my underwear and not get arrested, and that's generally a good day. Anyway, I've shown you mine and promised video, show me yours, people! biggrin heart

Bwahah I had the same predicament with makeup when I last did zombie walk. I used baby powder and charcoal eye shadow for mine...it lasted okay but everyone else was blood and guts. I just pretended I was rocking it old skool Romero style. cool
Ugh. Danny. Mayor. I read about that and lol'd. Why must he troll Kitimat?
