Aila lay in the soft grass in the cool spring day, her head resting on the white side of Jondayla, a book in her lap as she read through the novel. It had already been an eventful week, and it was high time for some downtime. The brook nearby burbled softly as the water ran over the rocks causing a sense of peace to fill the couple. Jonda nibbled on some grass as his tail flicked easily. For a jumpy horse such as he, it was nice to relax for once and not worry if any were to come upon them. In the background stood a small cabin, where Aila lived, and just beyond that was the glen he stayed in with a few other, nonbonded azrein such as Daria, her son Damir, Michiko the little filly, and Paimon, a strange firey blanket. All was silent.

Bryce and Fionn had been wondering for a few days now, they had had a goal originally but they got lost when they ran from a gang. Now their, well Fionn's supplies where running low. Despite his dress he wasn't a hunter, but it was clear to him that he would need to learn, and fast. As they walked along side by side Bryce's ear twitched when he heard the babble of a brook. They had been traveling along a river before. Fiona, water."I hear it too lets go." The human said as the pair picked up their pace to find the water, Fionn's canteen had run dry 2 days before. When they reached it neither noticed Aila and Jondayla on the other side, for Fionn went to her belly to sip the cool water while Bryce dipped his head drinking deeply from it.

Aila gave a yawn as Jonda's ears twitched back. The blonde haired girl went to stretch, just as the stallion jumped to his hooves and turned swiftly around to see the azrein and human at the river. He gave a nervous whinny before trying to hide his massive body behind Aila who was standing up with a rather annoyed expression.
"They can still see you, you know..." She said as she brushed the dirt that he had kicked up off of her clothes.
"No they can't... Don't.. Aila!" He whinnied as Aila lifted her arm, book in hand to wave at the two. With her other hand she cupped her mouth for the sound to travel farther.
"Hiyo!" She called in a friendly voice.

When Jonda whinnied Bryces head shot up ears perked to look at him. Bryce being the friendly type he was whinnied a greeting, causing Fionn to lift his face from the water to look at Bryce then followed his gaze. When Aila waved and called out Fionn got to his feet and picked his way across the brook to her side and called
"Hail Stranger!"
His voice was equally friendly. Bryce followed after and greeted Jonda
"Hello."
When the pair were closer, but still respectfully distant, Fionn greeted Aila with a bow and smile,
"Good day, Sorry if we disturbed the two of you."

"You did no such thing, stranger. The river is welcome to all." Aila smiled, her green eyes twinkling merrily as she reached out a hand to steady Jondayla who was shifting uneasily, his wide light blue eyes scanning the pair as if waiting for them to attack.
Aila gave a small chuckle as she leaned into Jonda's neck, causing him to still his moving around. She placed a small kiss on his neck and patted his cheek, her dark blonde hair falling into her face.
After a moment she turned back to the strangers. "I am Aila and this here is my Bonded, Jondayla." She introduced herself, holding her hand out for the male.

Fionn smiled kindly, he didn't feel threatened, so he didn't feel he needed to put up his abrasive front. As she comforted her bonded, he looked to Bryce and ran his fingers through the deep red main, he'd been meaning to comb it out. He had a look of utmost tenderness as he worked a tangle from Bryce's mainThe gesture was oddly feminine, for a young lad dressed and armed for battle, with his sword and armored tunic. When she spoke Fionn looked back to her smiling again and took her hand.
"My name is Fionn." he'd been practicing giving his name to not slip up. "This is my Bonded Bryce. It is nice to meet you two."
Bryce moved closer to His and cocked his head towards Jondayla Hello

Aila shook the boy's hand, feeling the softness of his flesh. Odd... she thought ..for a boy to have such soft hands, especially one in armor... Inwardly, Aila shrugged. There was something off about this boy, something... not masculine.. not right.
"The pleasure is mine, Sir Fionn, Sir Bryce. I haven't seen you around these parts, how long have you two been here?" She asked pleasantly as she leaned into Jondayla.
Jondayla blushed as he was addressed by the other stallion. H..hello..." He said softly, shifting his eyes away to the stream beyond, trying to look and see if anyone else was coming.

Fionn hadn't had a lot of interaction with other people since he had found his bonded, so he wasn't aware of the issue with his soft hands, though they were starting to roughen up because he was practicing with his sword.
"Please Lady Aila, Fionn and Bryce is fine, we have no title. We haven't been in the area long, just got here actually. We are actually sort of lost."
He admitted a slight blush dusting his cheek bones, it was embarrassing to admit to being lost. To save some of her self respect Fionn added,
"We were attacked by a group and had to run."
As he spoke, Fionns fingers again went to Bryce's mane and massaged his neck where the beautiful red hair grew from.
Bryce noticed Jondayla's seeming unease and tried to make him feel better, "We are alone, no one has been following us. We really mean no harm to your or yours. We just need water."

Aila blushed a bit. "Then please, call me Aila." She told the boy. Why are you blushing like a struck fool? She chided herself. You're not attracted to him... She thought to herself as she looked away uneasily and leaned into Jondayla.
At the mention of an attack, both Aila and Jonda's heads shot up with alarm. "Nearby?" Aila inquired urgently. "And I can help you out, my house is near here. Have you eaten lately?" She asked a little softer than her last urgent question.
Jondayla tried to hide his blush as he struggled to meet eye contact with the gorgeous male specimen in front of him. Cautiously, Jonda's blind-looking eyes met Bryce's own deep green ones. "We can give you two water and food, if you would like." He offered shyly.

Fionn smiled a little when Aila asked to be called by her first name, and smiled a little more when he saw the blush creep up on her cheeks. He didn't say anything though, girls didn't always like it when others point out that they are blushing. He was about to kiss her hand and thank her but when he realized that an attack could put her in danger.
"Oh no! I'm sorry no it wasn't near here, that was days ago and we were sure we were not followed. and ah no. I ran out of rations days ago." It was Fionns day to blush. He however wasn't willing to take charity so he said, "The help would be greatly appreciated but there must be something I can do to earn it? I'm good with my hands, and I grew up on a farm so I'm a pretty handy guy."
When Jondalya was able to meet Bryce's eyes he would see kindness and encouragement. He beemed brightly when the other male met his eye. "That would be wonderful. My Fionn won't admit it but he doesn't really like the sleeping outside thing, is there a way you may be able to cox Yours into letting us stay on and work for a while?

Jonda gave a small smile as he met Bryce's eyes. "Aila is a very generous human. She will more than likely offer it, but if she doesn't I will speak to her about it. We could use some help around the garden and glen." He responded softly, tearing his eyes away from the stunning male.
Aila grinned at the boy, her blush disappearing. "As long as we are all safe." She gave a relieved chuckle. When he offered to help, she had to think for a moment. She was usually good at judging someone's character, and so far she wasn't getting a bad vibe from Fionn.
She gave a small look at Jonda, to see what he thought, surprised a bit at the look of great embarrassment instead of his usual shyness. Baffled by the expression she decided against getting his judgment, and instead turned her gaze to the gorgeous red-maned stallion. She looked the Azrein over, and saw no mars on his body, nor any muddiness, showing her that the two were very into each other.
After a moment she gave a nod. "I will give you the supplies you need to continue your travels, as long as you help me around my garden and glen for atleast a week." She bargained.

Bryce nodded his head a little, "Many thanks my friend. Are you the only one here?" Bryce found Jonda's shy actions sort of. . . cute. He also wondered why the black and white male before him was so shy. He was a powerful being, there was no need for him to be intimidated. "No worrys, we will help you for as long as you need us to." he smiled a little and cocked his head again.
Fionn nodded, "Yes of course. I would not lead danger to anyone intentionally." A look crossed Fionns face, a mix of determination and sadness. He had been a victim once because someone lead him into danger, he would never be a victim again, nor would he let such a fate fall upon anyone else if he could help it. Especially the beautiful girl in front of him. Smiling at the deal, he stopped stroking Bryce to offer his right hand to Aila
"Aila, you have yourself a deal my friend. Anything you need help with, just say the word and I'll hop right to it."

Jonda shook his black mane out in a negative answer to the other azrein. "I'm the only one that has a Bonded. But there is an adult female, her young son, a little filly, and a strange flaming blanket that the owner of the land we live on, brought here." He answered.
Aila grinned at the pair and motioned for them to follow her. "Well come on. I got some soup left over from last night that'll heat up over the fire real quickly for ya." She said as she started towards her small house.

Bryce nodded his head a little excitedly "Oh goody! I like young ones. They are still pure and untainted by this war. I enjoy meeting new azrein, I come from a small herd of others without their Life mate." He lipped at Fionns' hair, as they moved to follow Aila "I miss my family, but Mine made me complete."
"Thank you Aila, I really appreciate it." He smiled and swatted playfully at Bryce's nose as he lipped at his hair. A moment later though he was stroking Bryce's neck as she moved after Aila. Bryce stay beside Jonda though.

Jondayla kept his gaze on the grass below him as they walked, as if it was the most interesting thing he'd ever seen. "You'll love Michi then. She looooves to play.. and once the others are old enough to play I'm sure they'll be just as rambunctious.." He chuckled softly before nudging Aila with his nose as they got to their cabin.
Aila smiled at Fionn, trying to hide the blush from creeping up on her. "Its no problem, really." She admitted honestly. Once they got to her door, she motioned for the azrein to go around back where there would be some hay and apples (if Daria hadn't eaten them all already) and opened the door for Fionn to come inside with her.
