Kidō (鬼道, "demon way" or "spirit way") is one of the basic Shinigami combat forms. Kidō is the technique that Shinigami use to focus their Spiritual Energy into magic spells of various powers. These spells serve a wide variety of uses such as healing, defense, or combat.


Hado (Destructive) Spell List



1. Thrust (衝, Shō) — A burst of force shot from the user's hand pushes the target away from the caster.

2. Beniikazuchi (Crimson Thunder) — A beam of deep red lightning is blasted from the user's pointing finger towards the enemy. Its intention is to make so much noise, that it breaks the enemy's orientation while sending them flying. Its strike is not very strong but the impact can make superficial bruises. It's a good hado for beginners.

25. White Crawl (白伏, Hakufuku) — Much like Hado #1: Thrust (Sho), this spell has the main ability of repulsion. However, White Crawl repels all objects (is capable of also repelling incoming kido) within six meters of the caster with a greater force than Hado #1: Thrust (Sho). The intensity of the repulsion increases greatly the closer the target is to the user.

27. Breaking Palm (Kiremahira) — A direct kido attack, this move must be done at point blank range. The user of this attack focuses kido energy into one of their hands, the entire hand soon becoming covered in the energy. The energy is constant, and will stay as long as the person wills it to. This technique gives the hand a great destructive force, allowing it to punch holes in walls and greatly increase that person's striking power - to the point of being able to fracture or break bone.

|+| Level Two - Assatsu is basically the same as Chuujou. However, instead of one, four blocks are shot out. The blocks surround the target on each side; they then all rush in at the person. This technique is very powerful and can case broken bones and damaged organs if it hits the body, temporarily crippling if it hits a leg or arm, and instant death if it hits the head.

Tenken (Sword of Heaven) — This spell summons a straight long sword, about 2.5 meters long, made of pure energy that falls from the sky and pierces the spell's target through if it hits, like a warm knife to butter. The sword is capable of "homing" on its target, but it can't track more than fifty feet away from its original target point.

37. Thousand Burst (Senbeki) — A ball of energy is focused in the palm of the hand. When released the ball travels a 5 meters before exploding into one thousand small spheres of spirit energy, spreading out as they travel. In a modern context it is most similar to the blast from a shotgun loaded with an immense buckshot, and can easily overwhelm a target by spreading out the contact area between the spheres and the target. Maximum effective range is no greater then 30 meters before the spheres become too diluted to do much damage.

38. Altar (Kumotsudai) — The user presses their hands to the ground as they chant this spell. Stone blades shoot forth from the ground, surrounding the opponent. They all come down on the person, shredding them. It starts out with four blades; however two blades are added for every additional level used. Each blade appears 2 meters from the target, each blade being 2.5 meters in length and 1 centimeter in thickness.

Uchuu no Shinjitsu (Truth of the Universe) — This art destroys not the body, but the mind of its victim, overloading its senses with a massive torrent of information streaming in much too quickly. The user need only hold out their palm at their target and if the target doesn't move then they will be instantly under the influence of this spell. The effects last for 3 of the target's posts.

47. Dead Air (Shinikuuki) — A mass of air is compressed to the size of a golf ball in the palm of the hand. This heavily compressed air is shot at the opponent from the user's palm. When the ball makes contact or when the user detonates the sphere, the released air acts like a vacuum blade with 5 meters of range. Any further requires more energy to keep the air concentrated.

48. Burst Stream (Hekikawa) — The user of this spell gathers energy into their hands. The energy then calls upon the elements of water, causing a spherical ball of liquid to form between the users palms. The energy is then shot out with a great burst of strength. A powerful, well-sized (2 meters), screw-like whirlpool jet stream shoots from the orb blasting right at the target. This spell has enough power to tunnel into solid ground, so it can do a very good amount of damage to anything in its path due to its pressurized drilling nature.

Once the kido is under the target(s), it creates a marking around whatever limb it touches. The energy then shoots up from the ground in the form of a 5-meter diameter cylindrical beam, and if it marked someone it will even follow after him or her. 28. Anchor (Shingari) — The user of this kido shoots their energy out in the form of a thick strap. The strap wraps around the target's torso, and then an energy spike shoots from it. The spike is connected to the strap and will shoot out, dragging the trapped victim with it. The spike will either drag the victim back 7 meters or burrow them into whatever hits it before then. When that spike hits something (or burrows into the ground), three more spikes will shoot out in all directions. The spikes will bind the victim in their spot. Chiyudo (Healing) Spell List



Amatsubu (Rain Drop) — A concentrated spell, able to heal deep wounds, with a limitation of 10 centimeters in depth. The healing effects are not instantaneous because it takes about 4 of the user's posts to mend a single wound with this spell. This spell can be used on multiple wounds at a time. If this spell is interrupted it must be reused.

This is generally used to make incisions on a patient while no other tools are available.

Reiasaito (Spirit threads) — This spell is mostly used for those that are in direct combat. The caster places a finger over the cut or wound they have. A green needle emerges which then sows up the wound itself. The needle is made up of kido which disinfects the wounds as well as covering them. It's mostly used as a quick source to stop bleeding, as applied pressure on the wound will make it disburse. The spell only last ten post before the wound reopens.

Great Barrier (Kosekisho) — When this spell is cast, a perfect sphere surrounds the user. The sphere takes the user's spiritual energy and turns it into a solid translucent shell of energy. The shell by itself can take a great deal of damage. It will nullify up to five attacks from someone with equal or weaker spiritual power than the user. It can take two attacks from someone of greater spiritual power. The bubble itself is stationary and lasts for 6 of the user's posts, or until the user steps out of it or if it is destroyed. However, the user of the spell can keep pouring energy into the bubble to sustain it, but they must concentrate only on the bubble while doing it and it can become draining after a while. While inside the shell after the general time limit, the user cannot attack or they'll lose focus and the barrier will dissipate.

Okunoin no ichmei (Sanctuary of life.) — The caster starts off by making an orb of green energy form in their hand. Once the caster is done they shove that orb into the ground which makes it tunnel deeper into it. Then, out of the whole a tree emerges composed of kido. The tree then heals everyone within a five meter radius, mending wounds and dealing with internal injuries. The tree last for five turns before it dissipates. Minor cuts take one turn to heal, deep wounds take three, and light internal damage takes five.

Adrenaline — The user focuses a mass of their reiryoku into their own or another person's heart (contact with the other person must be made) and that energy forces the rest of their body to work in incredible manners. They are able to move at speeds rivaling shunpo for a total of 3 posts. During those three posts the user must ALWAYS be in motion or else their heart will overload the rest of the user (or target's) body and force them to become unconscious. The user (or target) will have to rest for one post after the time limit has lapsed, meaning that they can not move their body more than the basic functions during that rest period.

Funiku Yurushi (Tainted forgiveness) — This spell is meant to counter stress and psychological scarring. What happens is that the user uses Kido to enter the mind of the patient. The spell requires two uninterrupted post. Any interruptions will force the caster to start again.

Defibrilate — After casting this spell, the user's hand sparks occasionally and randomly while emitting a consistent low humming sound. This can used in either of two ways: the first is to press the charged hand into the a patients body to "jump-start" their body and revive them to a conscious state. The second is to press the charged hand into the body of an enemy, sending the charge throughout their nervous system, paralyzing them completely for one post. The paralyzed state can be reversed if the opponent overpowers the charge (by a margin of 5 reiryoku).

The reflected damages occur as they are inflicted so the caster/initial target must choose their target(s) when the spell is cast. This aura, although thin, makes the presence of the person it coats very well known to anyone within a 100 meter radius, often drawing the attention of other potential conflicts such as Hollow.

46. Control Doll ( Souranhina) — A technique that includes two different variations that can be used at any time. The first ability is simple. Using their own energy, the wielder has the ability to form a doll that looks just like them. The doll looks, sounds, acts and even smells like the user of the spell. This makes it extremely hard to tell the difference between the user and the doll. The doll itself lasts for 10 posts and can be used for anything from a decoy to an espionage tool. However, the doll lacks zanpakuto and kido capabilities, so it cannot stand combat too long since it's spirit pressure is only 10% that of the caster's. One surprise the doll has is that it has a binding spell imprinted on its body. When it is destroyed the energy put into the spell will displace and reform around the person who destroyed it, binding them for about 2 posts.
